We are truly honoured to have spent some time in what felt like a very very rare insight into Craigneuk's finest.

The Associates are one of Scotland's most loved post-punk bands of the 1980's, with albums such as The Affectionate Punch, Sulk and Perhaps. Billy MacKenzie and Alan Rankine have a special place in our hearts giving us 'Party Fears Two' and 'Country Club' to name a few... In this episode we celebrate The Associates legacy with a mix of live performances, fans and friends tributes, Alan's insight into the songs and a timely reminder of the remarkable human being that we lost in Billy MacKenzie. The Iconic Jesse Rae is Scotland's pioneer of Funk music. Having worked with some major artists across the world within the industry of funk including Bernie Worrell, Nairobi Sailcat and Michael Hampton from Parliament / Funkadelic. Jesse also worked closely with the American producer Roger Troutman founder of the band ZAPP who helped spearhead the funk movement and heavily influenced West Coast Hip-Hop. Part 2 of the interview kicks off right where we left Jesse in Part 1, in 1985 with the release of his Scottish P-Funk album "The Thistle". A wonderful insight into Scotlands Funk Ambassador with some very interesting stories on Jesse's award winning videos and friends. The Iconic Jesse Rae is Scotland's pioneer of Funk music. Jesse also worked closely with the American producer Roger Troutman founder of the band ZAPP who helped spearhead the funk movement and heavily influenced West Coast Hip-Hop. He has also penned some memorable chart-topping songs during his career. Sporting his traditional Scottish highland outfit's and a 6ft claymore, Jesse is a force of funk nature. In this episode, we start back in Jesse's early days of the mid-'70s with his journey from Scotland to America and his time with the Space Cadets and Strange Parcels. His chance meetings with Bernie Worrell and his love for funk. All this accumulating in 1985 with the release of his Scottish P-Funk album "The Thistle". A wonderful insight into Scotlands Funk Ambassador.
