Shortly after he moved to the DFW area where he began his career learning commercial construction working for a few General Contractors. Prelien Pro Technologies, Inc. began when a team of consultants were asked to develop an easier workflow for lien companies to manage the hundreds of prelien notices submitted to their company weekly. Once they dove into the structure and processes lien companies were utilizing, it became very obvious that the lack of “out-of-the-box” solutions was crippling this industry. Lien companies were spending 10’s of thousands of dollars to create custom, single-user solutions or relying on a dos-based, single desktop solution for software that was cumbersome, antiquated, and rigid. Shocked by what they found, they sought out the guidance of one of the most dynamic and successful CTO’s to wrestle the “ dot-com boom” they could find… one laptop, one monitor, and one hot conference room later, a dream team of developers, innovators, and consultants came together to form what would become Prelien Pro Technologies, Inc.
As they researched and learned more about this industry, they also found that construction companies were forced to submit their notice requests on an equally outdated interface. The team was shocked to hear that most construction companies weren’t too bothered by the legacy look and feel as most software they used at the time was just as clumsy. Realizing that the construction industry was ripe for a solution to weave together all of these processes and workflows, the team devised a strategy – to learn the lien management industry from the inside out. They achieved this by creating their own lien company, collaborating with the construction industry, and building a solution that solves all of the obvious (and not so obvious) issues this process had on the overall performance and cost of a project.

Born in Sonora, Mexico, Carlos Murrieta grew up at the core of Mexico City, experiencing firsthand one of the world's most densely populated cities, significantly impacting his later interest in the built environment. After graduating in 1993 with a Bachelor of Architecture from Tecnologico de Monterrey (ITESM), he started a firm in northern Mexico and later joined a firm in Phoenix, AZ; finally, in 2012, with his colleague and friend Clarisa del Castillo, he co-founded Merge Architectural Group, ranked one of the Top-10 small architectural firms in Arizona.
A recipient of the 2016 Arizona American Institute of Architects’s Young Architect Award, he believes you need to be part of the change to trigger change. With over 20 years of industry business and research experience, Urban A. Kiernan, PhD is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of iMetabolic Biopharma Corporation, iMBP, an early stage techbio company that is developing innovative computation technologies to streamline drug discovery and support its current therapeutic pipeline of 5 drugs. Dr. Kiernan is a seasoned leader who has already raised more than $1.75 Million in startup investment for iMBP from a broad spectrum of sources including angels, NIH grants and Strategic corporate partners. Most notable are the partnership deals with Ligand Pharmaceuticals, now OmniAb, via spin out and Amazon Web Services.
Prior to starting iMBP, Dr. Kiernan was the Director of Biomarker Discovery at Intrinsic Bioprobes Inc, during which time he was the recipient of several Phase I & II National Institutes of Health grants, negotiated a significant licensing deal with Johnson & Johnson, and was able to achieve his first business exit through acquisition to Thermo Fisher Scientific. He then later worked for Thermo Fisher Scientific and was able to rise through the ranks in Global Business Development, providing him a breadth of knowledge and experience in the life science and biopharma sectors while developing critical leadership skills. He is a graduate of Arizona State University, receiving his PhD in Bio-Analytical Chemistry in 2002.
