We want to start off with a HUGE thank you to everyone that tuned in for our Pokémon GO Worlds costream! Thousands of you were able to get your Costumed Pikachu and we were so excited to meet so many new Trainers. Thank you again for EVERYTHING!
To start we break down our experience with the Worlds Events and Twitch Drop Timed Research, which kept many Trainers busy all week. It was a ton of fun to watch Worlds and interact with it through Twitch and PGO gameplay. This was a huge win all around in terms of experience and immersion.
Beldum Community Day Classic was a fan favorite and brought plenty of Trainers outside. With Trainers prepping for Mega Metagross, incredible PvP and PVE gameplay, as well as the incoming Dynamax update, Metagross will be a MAJOR player on many teams.
Triumph Together is the new event this week and we see a bunch of GLobal Team Challenges which will let us know how hardcore or casual our friends list is. With various challenges rotating through each team’s theme, this is looking to be a great event with some unique gameplay.
The big news of the week is the Morpeko mechanic update and the teasing of Dynamax Pokémon. With Shared Skies coming to a close, we are all confident that next season will be all about Dynamazing and Galar, which is something we have been waiting on! It will be interesting to see how the Dynamax mechanic rolls out, but at this point all we can do is engage in some good ol’fashioned inappropriate speculation.
With Adventure Week finally coming to a close, many in the Community can take a fresh breath of vanilla spawns and move on from a super long event! We discuss how the length of Adventure Week may have overstayed its welcome! That being said, there was definitely some ups and downs in the event, with Shadow Lugia Raids being broken in the earliest timezones, resulting in a Shadow Lugia that couldn’t be defeated. Poor, poor, New Zealand.
The Worlds Event is up next and there is a ton to do, both in game an out. Trainers can earn up to 3 Timed Researches by watching Twitch Streams of the event over the weekend. We break it all down and let you know how to get the most out of the event, while supporting the stream and co-streamers at the same time! You will also be shocked to hear that Adam actually likes Scuba Pikachu!
Beldum Community Day is this weekend and you should play. Enough said.
For the Raiders this week we put together a little Raid Guide and Battle Party for Mega Kangaskhan. This is an important Raid Boss not only because it is a cool Mega, but because it is a regional! You will not want to miss out on this one as it only comes around every so often! You only need one other Trainer (with leveled counters) to take it out, so use up those Daily free passes!
Finally we revisit Wayfarer Abuse, and how there has been a string of new screenshots showing absolutely out of control POI clusters. We discuss how this happens and how damaging it is to the map and gameboard. The Community feedback was mixed, with some thinking the clusters are a wonderland, while others think it just isn’t fun at all. Let’s keep the conversation going on Twitter this week!

We are back in the saddle and ready to ride! We are excited to be back to our weekly schedule and pumping out podcasts! Thanks to everyone for baring with us as Ken finished his move!
The motherload of info dropped this past week with Shared Skies being announced as the 15th Season of Pokémon GO. We have plenty to dig through as we have our June content update as well as details on the first few events of the season. We begin with a recap of the first event of the month, Stadium Sights. While we enjoyed this event, we weren’t able to capture a Shiny Emolga. Add another chase to our running list.
Save the dates have been released for this season’s Community Days, and we have Goomy and Cyndaquil on the schedule for June. While May saw a ton of XP events, it looks like June will be all about the Stardust. This month will absolutely keep us busy as we ramp up to GO Fest. Make sure you stay tuned for our GO Fest announcements coming soon!
Up next on the calendar is Slumbering Sands, which brings us new costume Pokémon and a new Shiny! Timed Research will be delivered thanks to the GO Plus+ which is reminiscent of the Sleeping Snorlax event from a year ago. We also have a $2 Timed Research, which we both agree is a fair price when you factor in the gameplay experience, items, and rewards.
Looking ahead we have Scorching Steps, which while an Egg Event, seems to be making it a bit easier to deal with. There are a spread of chase Pokémon available during this event, including Shiny Larvesta which will show up in 2km, 5km, and 10km eggs, as well as Turtanator, which can be chased via Field Research. All in all, we are pretty hyped for this event, and think it will be a nice lead in to the return of Mega Rayquaza.

The GO Fest withdrawal is REAL! We are definitely missing our trip to Seattle but the game has done a great job keeping the momentum going. The Hisuian Adventures Event was a good one, especially with the Ultra Unlock bonuses. We recap our experiences including a trip to NYC to hook up with some friends and creators.
GO Fest in Sapporo will be happening this weekend and most Trainers, even if they have the means to travel, are unable to attend due to Japan’s travel restrictions. We will have to watch from the sidelines and root them on from home! A Safari Zone in Taiwan was also announced for October, which will also have restrictions to travel in place. We also touch on some political news which may impact the event as well.
The big news of the week was the announcement of the Bug Out Event. This event is a fan favorite and has the potential to be powered up by the Ultra Unlock Bonus from GO Fest: Sapporo. The announcement also reveals that Shiny Venipede, Mega Scizor, and Genesect with a Chill Drive will be released. We put together a Raid Guide and Battle Party to get you prepared for Mega Scizor, as it will be a great addition to any Mega roster.
We dig in to the Community Ambassador Program and how it can be perceived to have major barriers to entry as it requires Silph integration. The launch of COmmunity Cards makes it easier to track and work towards meeting the requirements, but is it still to overwhelming for the masses? Our conversation hits both sides of the debate and we look forward to hearing your feedback.
GO Fest Seattle is a wrap and we want to go back! We begin the show with a recap of our experiences including a trip to TPCi, Raid Tours, Meet & Greets, and of course our epic PGO Pub Crawl! With this being our third GO Fest experience, we can confidently say that it was the best so far!
Daily Adventure Incense has been announced and it has already changed daily gameplay loops for the better! With the ability to hit on all of Niantic’s core values, it delivers on their vision every day!
The August Content blog has been released and we will take you through all of the announcements including Galarian Zigzagoon Community Day! The month following GO Fest is usually a bit more chill, however Niantic is keeping their foot down and packing the month with additional events.
Finally, a Community Ambassador Program has been announced which will bring in a Grassroots process using The Silph Road to support Community Leaders and help get Trainers playing together again. THIS IS HUGE and we will be digging into it in the coming weeks!
This audio was recorded live on Twitch! Check out our YouTube for the VoD!
We begin with a recap of the Anniversary Event and the positive reaction we saw from the community. With July being dominated with GO Fest, the Anniversary Event was a perfect way to set up the back half of the month.
We are glad that Starly Community Day’s group bonus will not include Staravia spawns and instead just turn 3x Catch XP into 4x Catch XP! Make sure you come to NYC to meet up with Ken at the South Street Seaport for some swag and PvP Battles!
Moltres is returning next week so we put together a Raid Guide and Battle Party to get you set up. All of this leads into the biggest weekend of the year for US Trainers, GO Fest Seattle! We can not wait to see everyone at the event and look forward to making memories together!
For the first time in 225 episodes we have a single host show! Ken takes the wheel himself to run through the week’s happenings including GO Fest Berlin and its Ultra Unlock, July Content Update, and the current Anniversary Event!
Poke the Bear this week offers some hot takes as the discussion is over Naintic’s ramp up of anti-cheating measures! While we have seen massive ban waves happening, there is still some gray area when it comes to third party apps and devices.
While there wasn’t too much news to discuss this week, we still managed to put together a packed show. We start with our experiences so far with the TCG Crossover Event which we are having a blast with. From a diverse spawn pool to a solid shiny chase, there is plenty to do for everyone.
We veer away from the news to talk about the resources we use to help write our shows and support our gameplay. From PvPoke to GO Hub, there are plenty of websites at your disposal to help you Train! Finding a balance between them all can be a powerful tool to give you an edge above others that may not be on the up and up.
We are excited to announce that we will be at the official Niantic Tent during GO Fest Seattle for a meet and greet! Join us Friday through Sunday from 4-6pm along with the GO Cast crew and SBJ from It’s Super Effective! Podcast Power!
Finally we wrap up with a topic that gets a bit emotional. It is a massive elephant in the room and that is PGO Addiction. We ask how it has impacted personal or professional relationships, which is a topic that is close to home for us.
Thank you to everyone that joined us for our Livestream!
With Adventure Week wrapped up there was plenty to discuss. The event went over great with the community as the spawns, eggs, and research kept most Trainers engaged and busy. We had a few days of vanilla spawns before getting right back at it with the TCG Crossover event! I think this may be the first costume Pikachu that Adam is OK with!
Deino Community Day has been announced and it is going to be a doozy! Like Gible last year, we anticipate this to be one of the biggest Community Days ever. If you are in the NYC area, stop by the Seaport on Community Day to see Ken and get some Niantic swag and codes!
Finally we put together a Raid Guide and Battle Party for Mewtwo, which will make all of us with that Remote Passes were still 3 for 250!
There were a few tidbits of miscellaneous news to cover including winning a personalized PokéStop at GO Fest: Madrid, the GBL Season update, and Trainer losing their account to a hacker. We knew comparisons would be made to FleeceKing and the Community won’t let us forget.
Mega Rayquaza is the big topic of the week as we discuss the ups and downs that come with an Elite Raid release. We are split on this one, but the Community is nearly in agreement that they are not in favor of M. Ray coming back as an Elite Raid Boss. Make sure you jump over to our Twitter and join the conversation. We would love to hear what you think about this situation!
