I just started reading all the scriptures that pertained to everything that I was going through and I would write out the scriptures as they spoke to me, and I was so liberated during that time."

On this episode of "Let's Talk Purity," Richard and Brittni tackle the power of forgiveness, exploring Jesus' transformational words on the cross, and why we must persevere and forgive others — even those who are unapologetic.

After mentioning Christ's stunning act of forgiveness during his crucifixion when he told the Lord of his mockers and murderers, "Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do,"  Richard explained why grace is so essential. 

"Without forgiveness, we wouldn't see a resurrection," he said. "A lot of us, we want to see a resurrection, we want to see God revive and restore things in our life, but are we willing to forgive? And I truly believe that forgiveness and resurrection go hand-in-hand."

He added the ramifications of not forgiving are potentially sweeping and can hamper us. "If we are going to see God use us in a mighty way, then we have to be able to be quick to forgive," Richard said. "And I think that's so hard for people."

Brittni added another important detail: sometimes, people don't realize the full scope of their negative actions. "People are always aware of their actions, but they're not aware of what it's actually doing to themselves or others," she said, pointing back to her own past as a porn star before coming to the Lord. "I didn't realize that I was living a life of sin, that I was leading people into sin."

Brittni added, "We've got to be the type of people that can forgive and understand that, if they truly understood what they were doing, they woudn't be doing it."

The couple explained the importance of finding peace and letting go of unforgiveness.  "When you hold onto unforgiveness you're going to ... harbor pain," Richard said. Listen to the powerful conversation.

Are you overthinking your calling? That's the question Richard and Brittni tackle on this episode of "Let's Talk Purity."

"God wants us to pursue Him and to be obedient to the world that He has given us in the right season," Brittni proclaims. "We need to make sure that when God gives us a word, we do it."

Richard said this tends to be an area where "the enemy just tries to snatch that from us," with some people mistakenly waiting for the perfect moment to do or live out what the Lord has called them to.

"We're thinking of perfection," Richard said, noting it's better to listen to God than obsess over the perfect moment. "I would rather have you sow a seed that could potentially bring in a harvest rather than you just holding on to the seed and waiting for the perfect moment."

And Brittni encouraged the faithful not to hide the gifts God has given them.

"You don't want to be the unfaithful servant," she said, adding that it's also important not to let external voices prevent you from doing what God wants.  "If there have been external voices that have tried to stop you from fulfilling the call that God has placed upon your life, you need to rebuke those thoughts and go ahead and fulfill the call anyways. ... You don't need someone else's approval"

"We want you to enlarge your vision," Brittni said. "Hebrews 11:6 says without faith it’s impossible to please God. ... We can hinder his miracles because of our lack of faith."

"If you don’t see yourself correctly, it’s going to hinder what God wants to do in and through your lives," Richard said. "This year has to be the year that we see ourselves differently."

Britti said it's essential to believe you are "exactly who God says you are," and that you're "worthy of the call He's placed upon your life." In the end, she said it's all about having a relationship with the Holy Spirit.

"You need to start to live your life largely," she said. "You should be going to work and operating with a spirit of excellence. You have a label on you, and that label is 'Christian.'"

"When we walk into that room, it shouldn't be about us. The Bible teaches us, 'Blessed are those who are peacemakers.'"

The two discussed how Christians are "called to reconcile" and not to gold grudges, and Brittni differentiated between putting up boundaries versus creating walls. Beyond all that, though, she affirmed the need to be rooted in Christ.

"Too often, the reason people are so led by their emotions is because they're not spending time with the Spirit," she said. "A wise person overlooks an offense ... You have to be Spirit-fed so you won't be emotionally led."
