The first episode of Series Four was aired later than planned due to the massive loss of Lennard Pearce. John Sullivan wrote this episode in one week so the series would not begin with a funeral. Del is reunited with one of his old flames, but Rodney is already dating her daughter. Might there be another connection about to creep up on him?

Today's episode is a short tribute to the life of Lennard Pearce, the wonderful actor that played Grandad in Only Fools and Horses from 1981 until 1983. He sadly passed away during the beginning of filming series four in December 1984.

Not much has been written about him, but we have taken what we can to do our best to show a little more about his life before television.
