The Parkinson’s Symptom That Comes and Goes (And Drives Everyone Crazy)30 Jul 202500:12:53

One minute you’re walking fine. The next? Your leg’s frozen, your hand’s doing the cha-cha, and your family’s asking, “But you seemed fine this morning!”

In this episode, Bryce tackles one of the most frustrating parts of Parkinson’s: the symptoms that come and go—randomly, without warning, and without a user manual. From spilled coffee to freezing mid-goodbye, it’s the unpredictability that drives us (and everyone around us) a little crazy.

You’ll also hear real tips from the community—like elevator cards, sturdy-chair scanning, and planning for the “just in case” moment. This one’s real, raw, and full of those “yep, that’s me” moments.

🧠 Bryce-ism of the Episode:

“With Parkinson’s, the only thing predictable is that it’s unpredictable.”

What I Would Say to Someone Newly Diagnosed with Parkinson’s Today11 Jun 202500:12:54

If I could go back in time, I’d sit down with my newly diagnosed self and share everything I’ve learned—things I wish I’d known, things that would have saved me some fear, shame, and wasted energy. In this episode, I share the conversation I wish I’d had: a message of hope, strength, and perspective for anyone facing a new Parkinson’s diagnosis.

You are still you. Parkinson’s might change parts of your life, but it doesn’t erase your worth, your humor, or your value. I talk about the power of community, letting go of shame, refusing to let Parkinson’s define every moment, and how to stop living in fear of a future that hasn’t even happened yet.

If you’re newly diagnosed or even if you’ve been fighting this for a while, this episode is for you.

Parkinson’s & Positivity: Is It Okay to Laugh?11 Jun 202500:13:52

Is it okay to laugh when you’re living with Parkinson’s? Absolutely. In this episode, I share personal stories and reflections on why laughter isn’t about ignoring reality—it’s about surviving and staying human. From dropping water bottles at the airport to freezing at the bottom of an escalator, I’ve had my share of cringe-worthy moments. But here’s the thing: every time I chose laughter over embarrassment, I found a way to reclaim my dignity and connect with others.

Humor is a survival tool—it reminds us that we’re still us. Whether it’s telling a silly joke or just smiling at the absurd, laughter helps us move forward. If this episode made you laugh, or even smile a little, drop a comment below and share your own funny moment.

Finding Empowerment in the Awkward Moments of Parkinson’s11 Jun 202500:20:39

Let's talk about the awkward—and the power it holds. In this episode, I open up about how I’ve turned those uncomfortable Parkinson’s moments into opportunities to reclaim my dignity and confidence. From rogue arm swings to random freezing in the grocery line, I share personal hacks and stories to help you embrace, not fear, the awkward.

Community Voices:
💬 “I love ‘awkward is unavoidable, shame is optional.’ That grace goes a long way. Humour, honesty, different things work with different personality gifts.” – @merryanne6024
💬 “Your statement about being awkward and not apologizing, not being a problem, and giving yourself some grace… is a powerful statement. I burst into tears, not because it made me sad but because it gave me some relief.” – @mislori66
💬 “I’m going to use that ‘Parkinson’s pocket dump’! I work in retail and sometimes I feel like more ends up on the floor than on the hooks and shelves.” – @christinemiller2238
💬 “Bryce, your podcasts help me as much, if not more, than my Parkinson’s meds. It’s such a great support group. Thank you.” – @MaryDewald-t2h

Tune in for a real talk on laughter, grace, and empowerment. Let’s navigate Parkinson’s together—awkwardness and all.

Parkinson’s Stole My Confidence—Here’s How I’m Getting It Back!23 Jul 202500:13:10

Have you ever cancelled plans—not because you were busy, but because you were worried about your Parkinson’s symptoms showing up in public? You’re not alone. In this honest episode, Bryce opens up about the spiral of lost confidence that Parkinson’s can bring, from freezing in public to worrying about hand tremors at the grocery store. He shares real-life stories of embarrassment, isolation, and how rebuilding confidence is never about one “big moment”—it’s about celebrating those tiny, everyday victories.

Learn practical, hard-won strategies for taking your confidence back: lowering the bar for success, focusing on what you can control, letting people in, and learning to talk to yourself like you would a friend. Bryce also shares the new mindset shifts he’s practicing right now, and challenges the community to push back against fear, one small step at a time.

Questions for You:

  • What everyday moments have challenged your confidence the most?
  • What’s one part of your old self you miss—and how are you working to get it back (or create something new)?
  • What’s your go-to “confidence boost” when things get tough?

Share your story in the comments and lift someone else up—because this isn’t just a podcast, it’s a real community. And if you’re struggling today, you’re not alone.

Bryce-ism of the Episode:
“With Parkinson’s, confidence isn’t about not being scared—it’s about showing up anyway, even when your hands are shaking.”

If you found something helpful in this episode, please subscribe for more honest stories, practical tips, and real community support. And if you want to go deeper, check out the Inner Circle to connect even more.

When the Mirror Doesn’t Match the Mind21 May 202500:09:36

Ever catch your reflection and think, "Who is that?" In this raw and honest episode, Bryce explores the emotional disconnect many people with Parkinson’s feel between who they are on the inside and what they see on the outside. From identity shifts to the grief of losing your former self, this episode is a deeply personal take on body image, self-perception, and how Parkinson’s distorts both.

Bryce also shares practical tips like creating a "Parkinson's Win List" to rebuild self-confidence, and he opens up about the loneliness of invisible symptoms versus the stigma of visible ones. Whether you're hiding symptoms or wearing them on your sleeve, this one’s for you.

🪞 “You’re more than your reflection. You’re more than your symptoms. You are still you—even if the packaging has changed a little.”

This Letter Helped Me Through My Hardest Days With Parkinson's03 May 202500:04:59

In this deeply personal episode of Living with Parkinson’s: The Good, the Bad, and the Reality, I sit down to finally read a letter I’ve been writing in my head for years—a letter to Parkinson’s.

It’s not just a rant. It’s a reckoning.

I open up about the pain, the loss, the identity shift… but also the growth, the purpose, and the unexpected clarity this journey has brought. If you’ve ever wanted to scream, cry, or write your own letter to Parkinson’s, this one’s for you.

Sometimes we don’t get closure—we just get a little more courage.

And sometimes that’s enough.

Parkinson’s and the Fear of the Future: How I Cope With the Unknown03 May 202500:14:49

In this episode of Living with Parkinson’s: The Good, the Bad, and the Reality, I open up about one of the biggest mental and emotional challenges we face—the fear of what’s to come.

From leaving a job I loved, to navigating the breakdown of a 27-year marriage, to adjusting to life in three-hour medication windows—this episode is raw and real. I share how Parkinson’s pushed me to ask painful questions like:

• What if I can’t do the things I used to love?

• What will my future look like?

• Am I running out of time?

But I also share what helped me move forward—how I’ve learned to adapt, advocate for myself, and reframe fear as something I could live with rather than be paralyzed by.

If fear has been stealing your peace or keeping you stuck, I hope this episode reminds you: you’re not alone, and there’s still so much life ahead worth showing up for.

Grieving the Life You Thought You’d Have23 Apr 202500:17:18

When you’re first diagnosed with Parkinson’s, no one tells you that you’ll grieve a life you’re still living. But you do. You grieve the version of yourself you thought you’d be. The future you pictured. The plans you made.

In this deeply personal episode, I talk about the other kind of grief—the kind that sneaks in slowly as you start letting go of pieces of your independence, your identity, your rhythm. And I’ll tell you the truth I wish someone had told me years ago.

💬 I’ll also share:

  • The version of me I had to say goodbye to
  • What I gained once I let go
  • The mindset shift that helped me stop chasing who I was
  • And why grieving is a sign of love—not weakness

If this resonates, please share it with someone who’s quietly grieving too. And stick around to the end—I’ll tell you the one thing that helped me move forward when I thought I couldn’t.

How Much Levodopa Is Too Much? The Signs Nobody Warned Me About!23 Jul 202500:18:39

Is there such a thing as too much Levodopa? In this honest, experience-driven episode, Bryce dives into the reality nobody talks about: knowing when your medication is helping—and when it’s starting to hurt. From the early days of chasing “control” with more pills to the wake-up call of dizziness, exhaustion, and dyskinesia, Bryce shares real stories and practical signs that it’s time to rethink your dose.

Whether you’re newly diagnosed, deep into your Parkinson’s journey, or a caregiver wondering what “too much” looks like, this episode unpacks:

  • Why there’s no universal max dose for Levodopa (and what really matters)
  • The hidden signs you might be overmedicated—like hallucinations, sleepiness, and impulse control issues
  • What it feels like to “hit your peak dose” (and why tracking your symptoms is everything)
  • How your medication needs will change as Parkinson’s progresses
  • Why being your own advocate—tracking, journaling, and speaking up—makes all the difference

Bottom line: The goal isn’t just to survive, it’s to function and live. Sometimes, that means having tough conversations, adjusting your dose, and remembering: more isn’t always better, but less isn’t noble if you’re struggling.

Bryce-ism of the Episode:
"More medication isn’t always more freedom. Sometimes, it’s just more noise your body has to shout over. Tune in, track it, and find your real balance."

My Parkinson's Medications: Dosages, Side Effects & Lessons Learned16 Apr 202500:40:06

In this episode of Living with Parkinson’s: The Good, The Bad, and The Reality, Bryce breaks down his personal medication journey over the last 15 years of living with Parkinson’s—from his very first prescription to his current daily routine.

He shares what worked, what didn’t, and how his approach has evolved through three key stages:
 • 0–5 years post-diagnosis
 • 5–10 years in
 • 10–15 years and beyond

Current Daily Medications:
Bryce now takes approximately 35–40 pills per day, including:
• Levodopa/Carbidopa – 4 pills every 3 hours, ~7x/day
• Pramipexole – 3x/day
• Slow-release Levodopa/Carbidopa – 1 pill at bedtime
• Vitamin D3 (2,500 IU) – daily with dinner
• Vitamin B12 Methylcobalamin (1,000 mcg) – upon waking
• High blood pressure medication – once daily
• Magnesium and melatonin as needed

He talks honestly about timing, side effects, protein interference, on/off cycles, and how he manages the mental load of staying consistent. This episode offers a candid, real-world look at the realities of Parkinson’s medication—and why no two paths are exactly the same.

What Listeners Are Saying:

The Parkinson’s Symptoms Nobody Talks About (But We All Feel)20 Aug 202500:11:09

Have you ever thought, “Is this Parkinson’s… or is it just me?” You’re not alone.

In this episode of Living with Parkinson’s: The Good, the Bad, and the Reality, I’m talking about the autonomic symptoms of Parkinson’s—the invisible, often overlooked issues that affect more than 80% of us. These aren’t the tremors or stiffness people expect. These are the ones that whisper: sudden blood pressure crashes, bladder urgency, constipation, unpredictable sweating, temperature swings, and even intimacy struggles that most of us don’t want to admit out loud.

I’ll share my own stories (including one where I had to fake a phone call just to cut in line for a restroom), practical tips that help, and the key questions you need to be asking your doctor.

Because Parkinson’s isn’t just about what people can see—it’s about the battles that happen in the background. And those matter just as much.

💬 Comment below: What symptoms surprised you the most? What helps you cope with them?

✨ Bryce-ism of the Episode “With Parkinson’s, it’s not always the visible symptoms that break you down—it’s the invisible ones that remind you just how strong you really are.”

Why Doesn’t My Doctor Tell Me What Stage I’m In?20 Aug 202500:09:25

I’ve had Parkinson’s for 15 years, and not once has my doctor told me what stage I’m in. And you know what? That might actually be a good thing.

In this episode of Living with Parkinson’s: The Good, the Bad, and the Reality, I break down the five official stages of Parkinson’s and explain why most doctors don’t talk about them. We’ll dive into why these stages don’t always match what we actually live through, why progression isn’t linear, and why focusing on a number can do more harm than good.

I’ll also share a personal story from a conversation with my neurologist who told me: “I treat the person in front of me, not the stage they’re supposed to be in.” That perspective has shaped how I see this disease.

Instead of chasing stages, I’ll talk about the real questions that matter: Are my meds still working? What’s getting harder lately? What can I still do on my own?

Stick around—this one will challenge how you think about Parkinson’s.

💬 Have you ever been told what stage you’re in? Did it help or just confuse you? Drop a YES or NO in the comments, and let’s get a conversation started.

✨ Bryce-ism of the Episode “With Parkinson’s, stages might try to define you, but your spirit doesn’t have to follow the script.”

Ozzy Osbourne’s Parkinson’s Revelation: The Truth Behind His 16-Year Secret13 Aug 202500:07:38

When Ozzy Osbourne said, "I’m not dying from Parkinson’s, I’ve been working with it most of my life," he revealed something that completely shifted how I think about this disease.

In this episode of Living with Parkinson’s: The Good, the Bad, and the Reality, I explore Ozzy’s incredible 16-year journey of living with symptoms before his official diagnosis — and what it teaches us about the hidden years so many of us face.

From the rare PRKN2 genetic variant he carried, to the love and loyalty of his wife Sharon, to his defiant final performance on a bat-themed throne just 17 days before his passing — this is both a tribute and a deep dive into resilience, hope, and the power of showing up.

The 3 Most Embarrassing Parkinson’s Symptoms (According to You)08 Oct 202500:08:38

Last time, I shared my three most embarrassing Parkinson’s symptoms — and wow, the comments went wild. You all had plenty to say… and this episode is dedicated to you.

In this episode of Living with Parkinson’s: The Good, the Bad, and the Reality, I’m sharing the three most embarrassing symptoms according to the Doing Life Today community:

🚽 Bathroom emergencies — the one nobody wants to talk about but nearly everyone faces at some point

I’ll share my own experiences, your community tips, and practical ways to manage the embarrassment — from planning ahead to working with your doctor to finding humor when you can.

Because here’s the truth: Parkinson’s can be messy, unpredictable, and yes, embarrassing… but it doesn’t have to stop you from showing up and living your life.

When Parkinson’s Hits Below the Belt: Let’s Talk Sexual Health with Parkinson’s03 Sep 202500:10:05

Let’s talk about sex. Yeah, even with Parkinson’s. Not exactly the kind of thing you hear in a neurologist’s office, right? But if you’ve noticed changes in desire, performance, comfort, or confidence—you are not alone.

In this episode of Living with Parkinson’s: The Good, the Bad, and the Reality, I’m tackling the intimate side of Parkinson’s that often gets ignored. Erectile dysfunction, vaginal dryness, loss of desire, embarrassment about symptoms… these are real challenges, and they’re not “just in your head.”

We’ll cover:

  • Why Parkinson’s impacts sexual health in both men and women
  • The emotional side of intimacy: confidence, connection, and feeling wanted
  • Honest tips to open up conversations with your partner (without shame)
  • Practical solutions—medications, therapies, and adjustments that can help
  • Why silence—not Parkinson’s—is what really kills your sex life

This isn’t about fixing everything. It’s about staying connected, finding closeness in new ways, and knowing you’re still worthy of love and intimacy.

💬 Have you noticed changes in your sexual health since diagnosis? Do you feel like no one’s talking about it? Drop a comment—or if you’d rather keep it private, join the Inner Circle community. That’s where we go deeper, safely and confidentially.

The Hidden Parkinson’s Symptoms That Aren’t in Any Textbook01 Oct 202500:10:19

Shaking, stiffness, tremors — everyone talks about those. But what about the strange Parkinson’s symptoms that don’t make it into any textbook?

In this episode of Living with Parkinson’s: The Good, the Bad, and the Reality, I share the unexpected symptoms that caught me off guard, including:
❄️ Temperature changes in my hands and feet
👀 Double vision that makes emails look like a magic eye poster
🔊 Losing my voice volume without realizing it
💧 Drooling (yep, the Niagara Falls surprise)
⚡ And the muscle cramps that hit me so hard I had to grip a podium mid-talk

These are the real, unpolished stories from 15 years of living with Parkinson’s. And more importantly, I share the strategies that actually help — from speech therapy to stretch breaks — so you can be prepared when the unexpected shows up.

Stick around to the end for a Bryce-ism that reframes how to handle the symptoms you never saw coming.
