| Beyond Basic Cholesterol | 20 Feb 2025 | 00:23:21 | |
🫀 Did you know that 50% of heart attacks happen in people with normal cholesterol levels? That means traditional heart screenings often miss early warning signs—but the good news is, there’s so much more we can do to assess and prevent heart disease before it becomes life-threatening.
In this episode, I’m diving into:
✅ Why heart disease is still the #1 cause of death—and how we can prevent it
✅ The standard heart health tests most doctors run (and why they aren’t enough)
✅ The advanced lab markers that give a clearer picture of cardiovascular risk
✅ The difference between a CT Calcium Score vs. CT Angiogram and why I recommend one over the other
✅ How Cleerly’s AI-driven technology is revolutionizing heart disease prevention
✅ Lifestyle strategies to optimize your heart health starting today
💡 Key Takeaways:
80% of heart disease is preventable with early detection and lifestyle changes.
Standard cholesterol tests don’t tell the whole story—we need deeper testing like ApoB, Lp(a), hs-CRP, and insulin markers.
A CT Angiogram with Cleerly analysis can detect and quantify soft plaque, which is critical for preventing heart attacks.
Small changes like nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and targeted supplements can significantly reduce your risk.

Meet Susan Payrovi, MD- a physician and patient living with MS. She got diagnosed shortly after the birth of her first child about 12 years ago. Like "what should I be eating? Should I be sleeping more? What else should I be focusing on in addition to the recommendations of my neurologist?" So she went and studied integrative medicine, functional medicine, mind-body medicine, acupuncture, and a few other things along the way.
During this episode, Dr. Payrovi is going to share some of her key findings and some tips and tricks for you to implement into your day to day routine whether you have an autoimmune process or not.
