Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever noticed that even when life is going well, your mind is already searching for the next thing that could go wrong?

  • The bills are paid.
  •  Your family is okay.
  •  Nothing terrible is happening...

...yet your body still feels on edge.

In this episode, Kate McDowell explains why this isn't a motivation problem or a willpower problem.

It's often a nervous system that's been living in survival mode for so long that constant vigilance starts to feel normal.

You'll learn:

• Why your brain keeps expecting the worst
 • Why relaxing can actually feel uncomfortable
 • How childhood experiences shape your nervous system
 • Why logic doesn't stop anxiety
 • The hidden reason you're always "on"
 • A simple exercise to interrupt spiraling thoughts
 • Why survival mode is a learned strategy—not your identity

If you've ever wondered:

  •  Why can't I relax?
  •  Why do I always expect the worst?
  •  Why am I always overthinking?
  •  Why do I feel anxious when nothing is wrong?

...this episode is for you.

Why You Replay Conversations for Hours After They Happen02 Jun 202600:10:38

Send us Fan Mail

Do you spend hours replaying conversations afterward… wondering if you sounded awkward, annoying, too emotional, or “too much”?

In this episode of the Limitless Health Podcast, Kate McDowell dives into the real reason so many women overthink conversations, second-guess themselves, and feel emotionally exhausted after social interactions.

You’ll learn why replaying conversations is often connected to nervous system protection, people pleasing, emotional hyper-vigilance, anxiety, and subconscious patterns developed long before adulthood.

This episode is for women who:

  • constantly overthink what they said
  • struggle with people pleasing
  • feel emotionally drained around others
  • fear saying the wrong thing
  • replay conversations in their head for hours
  • feel mentally exhausted all the time
  • wonder why life feels so emotionally heavy

If you’ve ever thought:
“Why can’t I stop thinking about that conversation?”
or
“Why do I care so much what people think about me?”
this episode will make a lot of things click.

How Emotional Patterns Fuel Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis and What to Do Instead19 Aug 202500:43:54

Send us Fan Mail

Episode Summary

What if your symptoms weren’t proof your body is broken… but messages pointing you toward what’s really going on?

In this episode, I sit down with Daniele, who was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in his early twenties. After years of flare-ups, procedures, and fear of the “incurable” label, he began questioning the conventional narrative that autoimmune disease means the body is attacking itself.

That search led him to uncover the emotional patterns behind IBD—and eight years later, he’s still symptom-free.

Together, we unpack:

  • 💡 Why your body is not attacking itself—and what’s really happening with Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis
  • 💡 The specific emotional triggers he sees connected to IBD symptoms
  • 💡 How fear and flare-ups can trap people in a vicious cycle (and how to break free)
  • 💡 The role of belief, mindset, and biology in creating lasting change
  • 💡 Practical first steps you can take today to start shifting your relationship with your health

If you’ve ever felt stuck in a cycle of symptoms and frustration, this conversation will give you a whole new perspective—and hope that real change is possible.

Notable Quotes

My advice, even though I don't have children but can apply to anybody for anything, is - Don't focus on what has already happened. Focus on what you can do now. And let's move forward.

● Many times when you're doing the medical options with children, side effects can be problematic. And it can change things in their body that can have a longer effect than we may recognize. So the natural stuff, yes, we test to see if it's the right fit for your child, first of all, and what the dosing is, that's appropriate for your child as well. But there are no side effects to going the natural route.

● It's not good to focus on what's already happened because you were doing the best that you could with the information that you had.

Summary:
If you’ve ever found yourself wondering, “Why am I still dealing with this?”—this episode is for you. I’m opening up about my own MS journey and the mindset shift that changed everything. It’s not just about nutrition or movement (yes, those matter), but the way we think, what we focus on, and what we believe about our bodies.

If you’re constantly focused on getting away from symptoms, you’re not alone—but it might be keeping you stuck. Let's shift that.

Inside this episode, we talk about:

  • Why being mad at your body could be blocking your healing
  • What happens when you focus on what you don’t want
  • The mantra that helped me—and so many others—start seeing real shifts
  • How your unconscious mind listens (and why that matters)
  • What’s really possible when you start thinking differently

What I want you to know:
You’re not broken. You’re not doing it wrong. But you do have more personal power than you’ve been told. Start by asking: What do I actually want?

Try this today:
Write down 1–3 things you want more of in your life. Say them out loud. Say them often. And if you want to share them with someone who gets it, DM me on Instagram. I’d love to cheer you on.

Ep. 23 - Parasites and the Full Moon: Uncovering the Health Link in the Night Sky06 Apr 202300:28:00

Send us Fan Mail

Many people recognize that the full moon can certainly bring some different energies in people and animals, but what many don't realize is that a big part of this can be linked back to parasites!

Parasites live within nearly every living being and can actually be the reason for symptoms! Changes in energy, mood, and behaviour are ones that are easily recognized from the outside, but they can also have a really big impact on what goes on inside our bodies too!

This episode talks about many symptoms you may be dealing with that are often related to parasites!  Have you ever noticed things like anxiety, cravings, sleep problems, joint pain, or even teeth grinding get worse at different times of the month?  This could be a parasite problem!

In North America, parasites are very rarely even considered when someone is dealing with unexplained symptoms, but they are often a contributing factor!

Ep. 22 - When Health Problems Overlap with Identity03 Apr 202300:23:02

Send us Fan Mail

Sometimes whatever health issues you may be dealing with can intertwine themselves with your identity and belief around what is or isn't possible for you!

This is something Kate has definitely experienced as well. For a few years, she held herself back from reaching for things, because she thought that MS was a limiting factor holding her back. Like many other people, she'd just accepted that because of the illness, there were no other options than the struggle.

BUT Amanda brings up a great point in this episode that can make a really big difference for people! What if things could be better? What if you could open your mind even a little to looking for little things you could do that might help you get even a little bit healthier?

In our experience, both personally AND helping clients, this can be a turning point moment to realize that there are things you can do for yourself!

Many people are in the place Kate was in waiting for someone else to show up and fix things for you, but you have way more personal power to help yourself than you may realize.

Ep. 21 - The Hidden Impact of Toxins on Health27 Mar 202300:27:40

Send us Fan Mail

We are bombarded with toxins from many different sources all of the time in every day life.

In this episode, we're talking all about how toxins can get in the way of your ability to live your healthiest life.

Especially after about the age of 40, many people struggle with symptoms like weight gain, and this can actually be your bodies way of trying to protect you!  Toxins are stored in our fat cells!

Your body has a built in detoxification system, but when the toxins become too much, the body can become overwhelmed and needs help! If you're dealing with acne in your 40s or 50s, this could also be a sign for you that your built-in detox system is not working properly!  The important question is WHY?

And WHAT can you do to help your system start moving towards better health? While it's not realistic to try to remove all of the toxic burden on the body, it can be really helpful to have more awareness of the different exposures you may have and work to take small steps to reduce them.

Ep. 14 - Why Is No One Talking About This?25 Mar 202300:13:10

Send us Fan Mail

Have you been just "dealing" with symptoms?

This is SO common, but it doesn’t have to be the case! Allergies, period problems, weight gain, skin problems, sleep problems, sinus issues & hormone imbalances are things Kate & Amanda share their own experiences with “dealing” with in the past… BEFORE learning that symptoms are just a sign from the body that something isn’t working properly!

For many people this is the case... and in some situations the solution you may have been given doesn't actually help!

The typical strategy of Western Medicine is to just treat the symptoms, with little to no consideration to - what is the CAUSE of what you're dealing with?

If the symptoms just keep coming back, this is where we can help! At Aligned Natural Health, we help find the cause. We test your body from head to toe, to find what areas of the body need support, and put together a custom plan to get your body back into balance.

Ep. 8 - Using Quantum Nutrition Testing as a Diagnostic Tool25 Mar 202300:12:45

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode we're talking more about Quantum Nutrition Testing, and why it's such a valuable diagnostic tool when it comes to finding the cause of the problems you may be dealing with.

Blood work, x-rays, MRIs, etc, all serve a purpose, but most of the time these are looking at symptoms, and only looking at one small piece of the puzzle.

Quantum Nutrition Testing is a whole body approach. And the main focus is asking WHY. Why is your body producing the symptoms? And what does it need to move towards better health.  Natural health, holistic health takes a different viewpoint with an understanding that suppressing symptoms over and over again isn't the solution if we want to actually help people get healthier!

Ep. 2 - Parasites - The True Cause Behind Many Common Health Issues25 Mar 202300:11:10

Send us Fan Mail

With the significance of the Full Moon coming up, we thought it was a great time to put together a chat about parasites!

Any time we bring up parasites in conversation, it's always amazing how many people have a story of a friend, or someone they know who has had some crazy experience with parasites!  A really important thing we hope you'll get from this is understanding that the belief that many have that parasites are just in "other parts of the world" and not a north America problem is FALSE!

These critters live in a large percentage of humans, and can actually be the cause behind many of the health issues we deal with.

In this episode we get into a great discussion about where parasites come from, the impacts they can have on us, and more! Hope you enjoy! NOTE - In this episode the brand Cellcore was mentioned, and Kate made a mistake with the full name - Cellcore Biosciences

Do you feel like it's your "duty" or your "job" to make sure you put the needs of everyone else ahead of your own?

A big problem here is: if you're not taking care of YOU, your health is often what pays the price.

It may sound cliche, but taking care of YOU isn't selfish. There IS a limit to what the body can sustain, and as women, it's often not uncommon to see asking for help or setting boundaries as weakness, but this couldn't be further from the truth!
