I posted a question on Threads last week. Who else left corporate and stepped out of the spiritual closet at the same time? Hundreds of people liked, commented, and engaged. I knew I was onto something.

This episode is for the ones who attempted something brave, had it not go the way you hoped, and are now standing at the door wondering whether to try again.

I talk about the first time I left corporate in 2017, what pure ignorance’s bliss actually felt like, and how I spent four years going all in on crystals, tarot, shamanic apprenticeship, intuitive development events, and a retreat called the Spiritual Slumber Party before the money ran out. What happened when I went back into corporate and became the mystic who did energy clearings on the company, the team, the offers, and the customers from inside a boardroom without anyone ever knowing. Why the second time is so much harder than the first when your mind has evidence of what happened before. The one thing that is genuinely different this time that was not true in 2017. And why the offer that is getting the most traction right now is the one my logical mind never would have created.

I tracked my cash inflows for three years, noticed a correlation between a twice daily practice and a spike in money received. Empowered by that data, I let my accountant brain draw the wrong conclusion. If I stop doing this, the money stops.

What started as devotion secretly became dependence.

The Curse of Competence

What if being exceptional at something is exactly what’s been keeping you stuck?

This episode is for the one who just handles it. The fires nobody else knows about. The balls kept in the air so seamlessly that everyone assumes things just run smoothly. The woman who gets replaced by three people when she finally leaves.

I call it the curse of competence, and I lived with it for decades.

I talk about the moment I told my boss I didn’t want the promotion everyone assumed I would take. What happened when I realized I could not sustain a performance that was never my zone of genius. The several brilliant offers I launched since leaving corporate, why every single one heard crickets, and why I felt secretly relieved every time. The thing I have been saying I wanted for years that I have been too afraid to pressure test. And why my soul has been blocking every financial path that doesn’t lead toward writing, traveling, and being a creative explorer paid to be myself.

There comes a point where you have to stop being the competent one. The responsible one. The easy one. The good girl. And it is deeply uncomfortable to watch everything you have been holding together finally fall apart. But that falling apart is not failure. It is the first stage of alchemy.

And what it actually looks like to let your truth be uncomfortable for other people without making that your emergency to fix.

Highly Sensitive People Can Taste Bad Energy

I threw out a latte after one sip. I’ve never done that before in my life.

That moment sent me down a research rabbit hole this morning, and I had to share what I found because I think you have been running this experiment unconsciously your whole life, too.

This episode is about the energetics of the food and beverages we consume and the spaces we inhabit. I talk about the French bistro-style coffee shop that looked perfect and felt all wrong. What happened when I asked my future self to show me where to go next. How Dr. Masaru Emoto's water and rice experiments explain what my nervous system already knew. Why unhappy waitstaff have been scientifically shown to impact the taste of food. The intuitive market experiment I did and what I noticed about which booths drew crowds and which ones repelled them. And why moving to 10 acres outside Portland two and a half years ago means I can now feel the energetic frequency of the city before I even reach city limits.

We’re all doing this unconsciously. This episode is an invitation to start doing it on purpose.

Self-Expression Is the Only Path to Freedom

I have been thinking about that a lot lately. This episode started as a reflection on social media and ended somewhere much more personal. I talk about why each platform has its own culture and why showing up as yourself on the wrong one is like throwing sprinkles into a corporate business park. Why I left LinkedIn and why I do not regret it. What I have learned about controversy, opinions, and why content everyone agrees with gets ignored. And why the ones who never hit like but listen to every word are the exact reason we keep showing up.

I also share something exciting. I am starting to write my memoir. Because Glennon Doyle sat in her closet, posted on Facebook, and changed my life forever without ever knowing my name. And there is someone out there who needs me to go first, just as she went first for me.

Stop Thinking Your Way Through the Fog

I’ve been choking on confusion soup for over a week. My mind thinks getting involved is the fastest way out. It’s not.
