Extended opening: The show opens with the powerful Aerosmith song "Janie's Got a Gun." about a young girl being sexually abused by her father. Below Tyler Perry on why he wrote the song: Tyler found inspiration for the lyrics after reading two articles – a TIME magazine story on gun violence in the US and a Newsweek piece about child abuse; he connected the song with the theme of child abuse and incest. The singer declared, "I was outraged that nobody was paying homage to those who Mom and Dad had abused."
