What We Get Wrong About ADHD, Masking & AuDHD - with Dr Kieran Kennedy10 Sep 202601:00:05

Hey Lifers!

ADHD has well and truly come into the spotlight in the last few years. Diagnoses have increased substantially in the past decade. But, this surge in diagnosis hasn't necessarily come with a surge in understanding; especially for women, who are so often missed, misdiagnosed, or told it's "just anxiety". So we've brought back one of Australia's most trusted voices on mental health and neurodiversity, consultant psychiatrist and TV doctor Dr Kieran Kennedy, to break it all down.

Kieran is fresh off the release of his brand new book, This Explains Everything: A Psychiatrist's Guide to Navigating Adult ADHD, and he's here to unpack why so many women aren't diagnosed until their 30s, 40s or even 50s, what "masking" and "scaffolding" actually look like day to day, the difference between hyperactive, inattentive and combined ADHD, what AuDHD is, and why "high performing ADHD" might be one of the most misunderstood terms on the internet right now.

We also get into ADHD burnout, the link between ADHD and disordered eating and substance use, the romanticised "superpower" side of ADHD on social media, and what steps to take if you think this conversation sounds a little too relatable.

Kieran shares:

  • Why ADHD in women is so often missed, and how it shows up differently to the "naughty kid in the classroom" stereotype
  • What "scaffolding" really means, and the difference between adaptive and maladaptive coping
  • What "high performing ADHD" actually is (and why the term can be misleading)
  • The three types of ADHD - hyperactive, inattentive and combined
  • What AuDHD (ADHD + autism) is, and why it's not a "made up" internet diagnosis
  • The link between ADHD, dopamine seeking, disordered eating and substance use
  • What ADHD burnout looks like versus everyday burnout
  • Why women are diagnosed on average nearly 20 years later than men, and the role hormones, pregnancy and menopause play
  • Options beyond medication
  • The difference between masking in men and women

Raygun's Redemption, Alix v Alex & WTF is Musk?08 Sep 202600:49:22

Hey Lifers! Happy Wednesday! We’re fresh back from New Zealand (Queenstown luge races, ice-cold lake plunges and all) while Britt’s got her own laundry-based betrayal to deal with courtesy of Ben. We take a quick pause to give a shoutout to a very special dad in the Lifer family (Matt we’re looking at you), before answering Soph’s very real dilemma: How do you greet your friend’s partner for the first time without it turning into an awkward fist bump? Laura’s going rouge and talking Musk Sticks…Yep… Who actually knows what the flavour of Musk? This one will have you both concerned and intrigued.

Then we get into it. First up, the Alex Cooper vs Alex Earle drama that's been simmering since 2022 finally got its reveal, and we unpack the uncomfortable footage, the question of who really owns your story once you've sat down for an interview, and why we'll never ask a guest to keep something in if they've asked for it to be cut.

Then, the big one: Raygun. Her new Netflix documentary has reopened the conversation a year on, and we've got a lot of feelings. We get into vicarious embarrassment (yes, it's a real psychological phenomenon), the line between self-belief and delusion, the role her husband/coach played in it all, and whether the backlash really was about gender or something else entirely.

Timestamps:

  • 0:00 - Intro: Britt's New Zealand trip, the Queenstown luge race & an icy lake plunge
  • 8:41 - Life updates of a laundry disaster and a special award in Laura’s fam
  • 13:42 - SOS: hug, handshake or kiss? How do I greet people?
  • 16:58 - WTF is Musk… Laura wants a deep dive
  • 20:24 - Alex Cooper vs Alex Earle: Who owns your story?
  • 30:58 - Raygun's Netflix doco: Redemption arc, delusion, or was it not her fault?
  • 47:45 - Suck and Sweet of the Week

Ask Uncut: He Invited His Ex To Our Wedding & Secret Sibling Favouritism?06 Sep 202600:34:35

Hey Lifers! Welcome back to Ask Uncut where we answer your deep, your dark and your burning questions! Today is one of those days where we got the giggles and boy this could be one of the greatest openers of all time. We go down memory lane and find out about Britt's grandma's backyard full of pigeons (we did not see that one coming).

Vibes for the week:

Brittany – DentiPet dog toothpaste from Pet Barn

Laura – The easiest, most addictive cabbage salad recipe of all time (yes really)

LAURA'S SALAD RECIPE

  • Shredded cabbage
  • Rocket
  • Mint
  • Peas (defrosted, not cooked)
  • Shredded parmesan
  • Fresh chilli

Dressing:

  • Whole lemon
  • Olive oil
  • Dijon mustard
  • Crushed garlic
  • Salt & Pepper

Then we jump into your questions!

Q1: I SAID MY EX'S NAME DURING SEX: Instead of correcting myself, I just kept going. He definitely heard it and it's been three weeks. Do I bring it up now or let it die?

Q2: MY PARTNER WANTS HIS EX AT OUR WEDDING: They've stayed close since breaking up five years ago and are part of the same friend group. I don't know if I want her there. Should I ask him to not invite her?

Q3: MY MUM KEEPS GIVING MY BROTHER MONEY: I only found out by accident. I've never asked for a cent, but apparently he "needs it more." Am I a bad sister for feeling some type of way about it?

Q4: HOW DO I TELL MY BEST FRIEND HER CONTENT IS TOO OBVIOUSLY AI? Her home remodelling business isn't even showing real photos of their work anymore. How do we call this out without hurting her feelings (or her business)?

Keep your Ask Uncuts coming! Just write to @lifeuncutpodcast on insta and pop "Ask Uncut" in the heading, we'll always keep you anonymous. Join the Facebook discussion group if you haven't already. Offcuts: The Jet Ski Confession, A $11M Wedding Registry Scandal & Taking Your Bush To The Beach04 Sep 202600:43:50

Hey Lifers! Welcome to Offcuts, the stuff that got left in the group chat because there just wasn't room for it in the main episode!

This week, our digital producer, Lachy, throws himself onto a live, in-person Love Is Blind-style dating show, and gives us the full debrief, jet ski confession included, plus the panicked moment he nearly sent an unsolicited message from the official Life Uncut Instagram account.

Then we get into the internet's latest obsession: a woman who turned guests away from her "creative black tie" going-away party for showing up underdressed, sparking a debate on how strict is too strict when it comes to dress codes.

We also unpack the backlash facing Annalynne McCord and Danny Cipriani, whose combined $11 million net worth didn't stop them itemising their wedding costs on a very public registry, right down to the $600 wedding cake.

Then, a viral "5 hobbies you need for a balanced life" list sends Laura into a spiral about whether surviving the day counts as self-care, and we debate whether meditation really is the answer to everything (RIP Deepak Chopra's reputation).

We close out bikini season-ready with a viral essay titled "I took my bush to the beach" and a very open conversation about pubic hair, laser regret, and who actually cares what's going on down there.

Starting Over At 36, Public Heartbreak and ‘Not Staying Stuck’ - Uncut with Rhi Disljenkovic03 Sep 202600:36:52

Hey Lifers!

Something we’ve spoken about a lot on this pod is how neither of us found the love we have now until we were well into our 30s. Every single day our DMs and inboxes are full of the same two questions. From women navigating the utter chaos of modern dating, wondering if they're doing it wrong, if they're too picky, if they've missed some invisible window. And from women sitting in relationships that are ‘fine’, not bad, just not right,  but worried about having to ‘start again’ when society is telling them the clock is ticking and beggars can't be choosers. We don't think it's crazy. We think knowing what you want, and refusing to compromise on it, might be the bravest thing you can do in your 30s.

Which brings us to today's guest Rhi Disljenkovic. Many of us got to know Rhi when she turned up on our MAFS screens having already met the guy who was standing at the end of the aisle waiting for her. Rhi and Jeff left the experiment together. A few months ago, Rhi made the incredibly difficult decision to end her relationship with Jeff.

In today’s episode, Rhi speaks about what actually happened behind the scenes, why she made the choice to leave a relationship that so many people online assumed was a fairytale, and what it's like restarting again in your mid-30s, in the public eye, while everyone else has an opinion.

We get into the pressure of being an "inspirational" couple online, the difference between a bad relationship and a relationship that's just not right, the rumours she's had to sit with in silence, and why she's decided to start an egg freezing journey now.

We chat:

  • The sunk cost fallacy in relationships; do you settle, or start again?
  • Whether Rhi and Jeff's shared history was picked up by producers, or pure coincidence
  • The pressure of sharing a relationship online and feeling like a "fraud"
  • Why she'd call it "a relationship that's just not right," not a bad relationship
  • Boundaries she overlooked, and the rumours that were hardest to sit with
  • Writing her breakup statement, and what it's like posting it knowing it'll be picked apart
  • What life looks like for her now
  • Her advice for anyone quietly questioning their own relationship

You can find more from Rhi on her Instagram https://www.instagram.com/rhidisljenkovic/?hl=en

A Prophet And The Influencer Who Got A Face Lift at 3301 Sep 202600:45:27

Hey Lifers! Happy Wednesday!

If anyone’s still sore from the Sydney Marathon, props to you we’re kicking off with why Laura will never be as good as you and a little throw back from veeeery early on in the pod (does anyone remember Britt’s marathon?) Plus we get into a random prophet "prediction" and unpacking the ultimate friendship litmus test that's been going around: Would you let your best friend babysit your kids?

Then the big one. After a Byron Bay influencer with 245k followers went public about her "mini" facelift at 33, we get into the convo we can't stop thinking about. Is it better for women to be completely transparent about the work they've had done, even if that means normalising facelifts at an age that once felt unthinkable? Or does that transparency tip into promotion, quietly telling a younger, audience that this is just what upkeep looks like now? And underneath all of it, the real question, how much of this is actually a choice, and how much is just the exhausting cost of trying to feel okay in your own skin after years of comparison culture, motherhood, and a beauty standard that keeps moving the goalposts younger.

Plus of course of Suck and Sweet (which includes a huge career highlight hosting global superstar Alex Warren!!!!)

Ask Uncut: When Is Giving Your Number A Big NO, a $250K Fail & the Ex's Cat Who Won't Leave30 Aug 202600:50:46

Welcome back to Ask Uncut where we answer your deepest, darkest and most burning questions! This week the Facebook discussion group has well and truly been lit up over one story in particular. When is shooting your shot absolutely not okay? Britt and Laura go head-to-head with veeery different opinions on this one that might even change your own mind.

Vibes of the week:

Britt:The Scream Murders: A True Teen Horror Story on Disney+/Hulu

Laura: Instagram Trial Reels (yes really)

Then it's into your questions!

Q1: IS IT OKAY TO GIVE YOUR NUMBER TO SOMEONE ON A DATE?

The story that broke the Facebook group. A Lifer sitting near a couple on a clearly bad date wants to know if slipping her number to the guy is out of line. Britt and Laura go head-to-head on the etiquette of shooting your shot.

Q2: HE BLEW HIS $250K INHERITANCE ON A CAMPER VAN & NOW HE WANTS TO MOVE IN, UNEMPLOYED.

A Lifer's boyfriend quit his job, ditched his apartment and torched a quarter-million-dollar inheritance travelling... and now he's back, broke, and wants to move into her place while collecting unemployment benefits. Is this a dealbreaker?

Q3: MY HUSBAND WON'T SUPPORT MY CAREER CHANGE.

After a decade in healthcare, a Lifer found her true passion and was ready to retrain. Her husband shut it down over money. Britt and Laura weigh in on when it's worth the pay cut to chase what actually fulfils you.

Q4: MY BOYFRIEND'S EX STILL HAS STUFF AT HIS HOUSE (INCLUDING HER CAT).

Months after the breakup, his ex's jewellery, clothes, mugs and yes her actual cat are still scattered through his house, and she still has a key. Is it fair to ask him to finally clear it out?

Offcuts: The Stoned Dog, a $20 Boyfriend Test & a Selfish Marathon Dad28 Aug 202600:38:47

Hey Lifers! We're back with another Off Cuts to get you through the weekend, the little snack, the bottom dwelling stuff from the group chats.

This week the girls cover a proper mixed bag. Laura chit chats about falling down the Instagram breakup video rabbit hole and if things ever went south (which they won’t, dw) whether they'd ever make one themselves.

We chat about a viral PSA about dogs getting high in the park (yep, you read that right), and the nineteen year old charging women twenty bucks to test if their boyfriend is secretly gay.

We chat:

  • The rabbit hole of Instagram breakup videos (and whether we'd ever make one)
  • A viral PSA about dogs getting high in the park (you read that right)
  • The 19-year-old charging women $20 to "test" if their boyfriend is gay
  • The dad who filmed a tearful goodbye at the airport... then surprised his family after secretly getting on the same flight
  • Should dads be banned from marathon training with a newborn at home?
  • The inheritance debate that's got 7,500 comments: a mum leaves her estate to her son over her child-free daughter.

From Sleeping In A Car To 11 Billion Streams: Alex Warren Gets Real About Grief28 Aug 202600:23:33

Hey Lifers!
We have such a special one for you today. If it sounds a little different, that's because we recorded this in the green room! We'd just come off stage after interviewing Grammy-nominated, 11-billion-streamed, ten-times-platinum (here in Australia!) artist Alex Warren, live, on the night his new album Wildchild dropped.

You know Alex from "Ordinary",  one of the biggest songs of the last two years, but what makes him so special isn't just the music, it's how openly he talks about what got him there. At nine, Alex lost his dad to cancer. At 16, he was kicked out of home and lived in his car. At 21, he lost his mum. Today he opens up about all of it: writing a song from his late dad's perspective (with a guitar solo from John Mayer), the voice notes his dad left him before he passed, the "what ifs" of grief, his mum's addiction and the regrets he still carries. He also has one of the best love stories we’ve ever heard.

The Missing Finger, More Possum Chat And Get To Know Producer Soph!25 Aug 202600:51:03

Hey Lifers! BIG episode, yes we’re finally diving in to who the hell is this new producer on our podcast and of course that means a classic “Accidentally Unfiltered".

But first, we kick off chatting the $1000+ "shoe" that is somehow just a heel and a prayer, and then get a little deeper: Laura opens up about a pattern of forgetting names and faces of people she absolutely should know, and the girls debate whether it's a perimenopause symptom, undiagnosed ADHD, or just the cost of running multiple businesses and a household at once.

But the juicy main event: producer Sophie FINALLY sits in the hot seat for her official get-to-know-you episode, and she comes in swinging with a 3am possum-on-the-bed story, plus some unhinged radio tales. Britt and Laura go through all the quick q’s from the Lifers and BONUS, we also get a cheeky accidentally unfiltered with Laura thrown in there too!

Content note: Light discussion of memory/health anxiety.

Ask Uncut: Orgasms On Demand, Mysterious Nudes Heating Up The FB Group & One Very Suspicious Brother In Law23 Aug 202600:44:06

Hey Lifers! Welcome back to Ask Uncut where we answer your deep, your dark and your burning questions. Laura kicks things off with a Facebook group confession that's got us absolutely in shock… or maybe it’s awe? We’re talking rogue orgasms and it’s wild

Vibes of the week:

Laura: Toxic Love Story on Netflix

Britt: Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

Q1: SHOULD I TELL MY SISTER HER HUSBAND IS MESSAGING ANOTHER WOMAN?

My sister is overseas and I had her husband over for dinner. While he was on a video call with her, I saw a flirty conversation open on his phone with a woman saved only as a photo and a question mark. Do I wait until she's home, or say something now?

Q2: IF YOU BREAK IT, DO YOU BUY IT?

My housemate's cleaner accidentally broke one glass from a $140 pair, and now my housemate is making her pay for the full set. She seems thrilled about ending up with three glasses instead of two.

Q3: MY PARTNER'S NEVER BEEN FLIRTY WITH ME?

My partner of nine months just told me his socials were "hacked" and someone's trying to extort him using a nude he sent 12–18 months ago. He's never once sent me anything like that, and I can't stop wondering why.

Q4: AM I LIMITING MYSELF BY AVOIDING “CASUAL” DATERS?

I'm back on the apps and getting plenty of matches, but most guys are upfront that they only want something casual. My ex said the same thing before we met and changed his mind a month in,  am I limiting myself by only going out with people who say they want something serious?

"I Was Almost Human Trafficked in Paris” - Uncut with Djanaya Hampton20 Aug 202600:53:33

Today we're speaking to Djanaya Hampton, the Australian woman you've probably already seen going viral online. Every year, Djanaya Hampton takes herself on a solo birthday trip. It’s her own tradition, ticking off a bucket list she made years ago. It had always been safe. It had always been beautiful. Until her 29th birthday, when a night watching the sunset under the Eiffel Tower turned into hours of being followed, surrounded and hunted through the Paris metro by a group of men who were trying to traffic her.

Djanaya walks us through the entire night in real time from the "harmless" photo request that was actually the first red flag, the moment she watched money change hands, losing them on one train only to have them get on the next, and the stranger on a near-empty carriage who may have saved her life. We also talk about what happened after: the Australian Embassy telling her she needed to leave the country immediately, what it really means to be "on the black market," and the wave of support, and disbelief, she's faced since sharing her story.

Djanaya shares:

  • Why she started solo-travelling for her birthday every year, and the countries she'd been to before Paris
  • The exact moment she first felt something was wrong — before she could even explain why
  • What it's like to realise, in real time, that you're being followed by multiple people
  • How a stranger who happened to speak Spanish became the reason she got out safely
  • What the Australian Embassy told her about being "on the black market"
  • Why she waited over a year to share her story, and the response since
  • The other survivor stories she's been sent since going viral
  • Britt's own close call in MedellĂn, Colombia

A Logies Haemorrhoid, Our Brand New Producer & Why "Kind Of Chic" Has The Internet Fighting18 Aug 202600:49:53

Hey Lifers!

Laura is rolling in "fresh off the Logis" (not that fresh) with a hangover she swears isn't from drinking, and a very unwelcome post-red-carpet surprise she never saw coming. We yap about the Logies and the glamorous industry who brought along a ‘she-wee’.

Then the announcement you’ve all been waiting for: please welcome Life Uncut's brand new executive producer, Sophie! Soph has some… first day of a new job trauma and we will have a proper "get to know Sophie" episode coming soon.

Britt has more of what she is calling ‘what the people want’ aka ghost content and apparently we will have a mini series coming!

We also unpack the "kind of chic" trend that's taken over Instagram and the viral post accusing the internet of stealing content ideas. Who actually owns a trend once a million people are doing it?

Ask Uncut: My Boyfriend's Brothel Past, My Mum's Young Boyfriend and He Won't Take No For An Address16 Aug 202600:47:23

Hey Lifers! Welcome back to Ask Uncut, where we answer your deepest, darkest and most burning questions!

Big news this week: Britt's husband Ben has flown in for a surprise visit (no return flight booked!) so she's on cloud nine. The girls also dive into their Traders Australia obsession before getting stuck into your questions.

Vibes of the week:
Laura - The Traitors Australia (Channel 10 / 10 Play)

Britt - Life Changing - The Jesy Nelson Story on Amazon Prime

Then it's into your questions!

Q1. MY BOYFRIEND HAS A BROTHEL IN HIS PAST
My boyfriend has been to a brothel in the past, and it makes me think differently of him. I have been with my partner for about a month officially, and we were seeing each other for a couple of months before that. The other night we were laying in bed when his friend made a joke that he was going to the brothel again. I asked, 'Have you ever been to a brothel?' thinking the answer would definitely be no. It turns out he went to a brothel two years ago and paid for sex when he was single. He says he regrets it significantly and would never do it again. I feel disgusted even thinking that he would have gone, and I don't know if I can get past this. Should this be something I am allowed to care about and potentially end the relationship over?

Q2. MY MUM HAS A ‘TOYBOY’
I'm 35 and I have four younger siblings, three sisters, and my youngest brother is 24. Recently my mum, who is 55, told us she has a new partner who is 28. I'm really struggling with it. If I'm honest, I can't help but feel uncomfortable. She keeps telling us that he just treats her so well and age is just a number, but she's almost twice his age and it just doesn't sit right with me. I genuinely want to be happy for her if she's happy, but I'm just finding it difficult to get past the age gap, especially knowing that he's younger than me and all my sisters, and only four years older than my brother. I'd really appreciate hearing other people's perspectives. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Did your feelings change over time? I am not looking to judge her. I just want to understand why I am finding it so hard to accept this.

Q3. WON’T TAKE NO FOR AN ADDRESS
Am I wrong to find this a red flag, or is this me looking for perfection in a person? I went on a first date with a guy, and I asked him to just drop me near my home, as I don't give out my exact address until I know someone well, which I told him directly. The very next day, he texted me that he wants to drop by my house with a gift. His exact words were: 'I'll get some chocolates, drop them by your house and say hi, then leave.' In my opinion, I feel as though this is a clear indication that my boundaries are not being respected. What do you all think? Am I overreacting?

Q4. HE'S JUST...NOT FUNNY
I love my partner. He's the best. He's smart, he's handsome, he's kind. He does the housework and we have similar values. But he's just not funny. It's often frustrating having to explain my jokes to him. Help . What does this mean? Are we really soulmates if I don't find him funny?

We chat:

  • The Census housework question that's about to end marriages everywhere
  • The Facebook group drama of a guy who got rejected via a copy-pasted ChatGPT prompt
  • The business class baby debate that's taken over everyone's feed: should mums with babies have to fly economy?

7 Rounds Of IVF, One Facebook Post & Our Discussion Group's First Baby. Uncut with Deb13 Aug 202600:38:26

Today’s episode is such a special one. You would often hear us banging on about how good the community of our life uncut discussion group is, but the story that you’re about to hear might not only make your week but also be the best example of that community we could ever imagine.

Deb has been a part of our discussion group since 2022. Back in December 2023, one of our lifers, Deb, posted in the discussion group: she was 35, single, and had just found out her egg count was below the low range. After seven rounds of IVF and still empty handed, she was asking if anyone would consider donating eggs or embryos to help her become a mum. The post got 375 likes and an outpouring of women offering to help.

Today we're sitting down with Deb and her eight-month-old daughter Poppy, who exists because of an embryo donation from another lifer. We talk about the shock of her AMH results, the toll of seven rounds of IVF, finding the "Single Mums By Choice" community, why she chose the Life Uncut discussion group over dedicated donor sites, what it was like juggling multiple potential donors, meeting Poppy's donor family for the first time, and how she plans to talk to Poppy about where she came from. It's a full-circle story about generosity, community and one incredible, hard-won miracle.

TIMESTAMPS

  • 0:00 Intro & Deb's Christmas miracle Facebook post
  • 2:15 The AMH shock at age 35

  • 30:22 The wild coincidence behind Poppy's name

Britt’s Ghost Is Back & Perez Hilton The Dark Side of Going Live11 Aug 202600:56:32

Hey Lifers!

We kick off with a deep and extremely necessary debate about jean-washing frequency (there is a day, and you know the day), plus Britt's new favourite purchase that solves the dreaded camel toe problem. Then Britt drags Laura back into ghost territory with fresh evidence her house is haunted, courtesy of her very unsettled dog, Delilah.

From there we get into the new rom-com everyone's talking about: a woman builds herself the perfect husband out of rattan, and the internet cannot get enough. It's got us talking about the viral dating trend taking over TikTok, male yearning, and why women are so drawn to men who wear their feelings on their sleeve.

Then we shift into a much heavier conversation. We unpack what happened with Perez Hilton's TikTok live stream, and the bigger questions it raises about live broadcasting, consent, morbid curiosity, and our collective responsibility as viewers when something like this unfolds in real time. Please note: this section includes discussion of self-harm, so skip ahead if you need to.

If you or someone you know needs support, Lifeline is available 24/7 on 13 11 14.

TIMESTAMPS

  • 00:00 – Intro & how often should you wash your jeans
  • 04:50 – Britt's haunted house update: Delilah and the dining table ghost

Ask Uncut: Can I Date an Ex Con? Is Sugar Babying Cheating? & My Husband Won't Take Off His Onesie09 Aug 202600:53:52

Hey Lifers!
Welcome back to Ask Uncut, where we answer your deepest, darkest and burniest questions.
This week Laura kicks off with a nit-related trauma flashback (there may or may not be an epidemic).
Vibes & Unsubscribe

Then we get into it:

Q1: CAN I DATE A CRIMINAL?
I work at a bank. About a year ago, this tall hot man came in; not objectively hot, but there was something about him, you know. He came to my counter, and when I asked for some ID, he said he didn't have any. I asked for a phone number, and he said he didn't have one. I asked for an address, which he also didn't have. Understandably, I was confused, and he went on to say that he had just gotten out of prison and needed help accessing his accounts. I was able to help him and he was very polite and very grateful. Of course, I went home and googled his name, but I couldn't find anything. Over the next month or so, he came in a bit as we were sorting through all his bank accounts. We would have a nice chat each time. He seemed like a really nice guy. Then I didn't see him for months, until… I was scrolling through Tinder one night last week and I saw him on there. He had liked me, so I liked him back. Now he has messaged me and said he would like to take me out for a drink. What do you think I should do?

For context, I'm 40 years old. I live in a regional town where the pool is very small. I was with my ex-husband for 20 years until a few years ago, when I found out he'd been having a year-long affair. I've worked on myself and I love my single life, so I'm not desperate to meet someone, but it's been three years now, so it would be nice if it was with the right person. I've dated here and there, but no one worth giving up my single life for yet. I also have two children, a tween and a teen, so they're quite independent now. I have never introduced anyone I've dated to them, and I would only do it if I knew it was really serious. My question is, should I go on a date with this guy not knowing what he was in prison for? If I do go out with him, do I have to ask what he was in prison for, or is it too risky? Help!

Q2: IS SUGAR BABYING CHEATING?
Is sugar babying cheating? I know the pod has dabbled in the wide realm of cheating and where each thing falls on the spectrum, so I would love your opinion on this. I personally think it is, but I am just an outsider looking in.

There is a girl I work with, and in the past, when she was single, she had done some sugar babying and had sugar daddies pay for some really expensive things for her. For example, cosmetic surgery (pop off, queen, to be honest). Now, apparently she had stopped when she started dating her current partner, though this can't be confirmed or denied, it's just her word. For a little background on her and her relationship: she moved away from her current partner to a different state for work at the beginning of this year, and he's going to be joining her next year. I have come to find out that since moving, she is sugar babying again. I did not find this out by admittance, but by another coworker finding her on a sugar-baby-seeking website. After discovering that, a lot of things that she's said or done started to become a little clearer, and it's obvious she's doing it again. I can guarantee the boyfriend does not know about this. Also for context, I don't have any idea what the depths of her sugar babying are. I'm pretty sure she's been on some dates since being in the new state; however, I'm unsure if anything physical has happened , just dates, or even just online stuff.
Is this cheating, or is some aspect of it fine?

Q3: MY HUSBAND SAYS HE NEEDS A "RESET" BEFORE HAVING KIDS
My husband and I are in our mid-30s and have been together since uni. The last six years have been relentless, moving home from Europe during Covid, buying at the peak of the market, significant financial stress, family conflict over property, and now infertility. We're both emotionally exhausted. He still wants children but says he doesn't feel the same desperation to have them anymore, and he feels he needs a "reset" before becoming a parent. I understand he's burnt out, but I am terrified of waiting. I have suggested taking a break from work or seeing a therapist, but he won't commit to either. I feel stuck between respecting that he needs space and feeling like time won't be on our side if we spend too long in indecision from not doing IVF. How do we navigate this without ending up resentful of each other?

Q4: AM I THE ASSHOLE FOR HATING MY HUSBAND'S ONESIE?
This is a bit of a silly one, but genuinely wondering if I am the asshole for hating my husband's onesie. I know they're super popular and warm, and Aussie homes are not great for winter, but oh my god, my husband literally lives in his fucking onesie. He gets all dressed up for work, which I love, and then within two seconds of getting home, he's in his onesie with no shirt underneath and just a pair of tracks. He sleeps in his onesie, does the whole breakfast routine with our kids in it, and gets ready for work 15 minutes before leaving the house and then he's back in his onesie within five seconds of coming home again in the evening. Also, the added laundry headache with his incessant wearing of it is a pain in the ass because he won't wash it. He knows I hate it, but he just says he's cosy. He definitely has other warm home clothes. I even got him thermal tops to wear under his usual hoodie. It gives me the ick so bad, and I'm finding my husband less attractive because all he wears is a onesie. How do I get over this?

Offcuts: Nun Girl Summer, Annie Knight's AFL Revenge & The Pitch Deck Email07 Aug 202600:40:34

Hey Lifers! Welcome to Offcuts, the stuff that got left in the group chat because there just wasn't room for it in the main episode!

Lola is in her recorder era and Laura no longer has a need for an alarm clock!

This week we yap about:

  • TikTok has declared 2026 the year of "nun girl summer.” We get into why choosing to be single feels so different for this generation compared to a decade ago.
  • Then things get messy in AFL land. A dad's public comment on Annie Knight's post spirals into a full-blown scandal involving a locker room dance video.
  • We debate whether Robert Irwin's Bonds campaign really was "just for the animals."
  • There's a viral pitch deck a guy sent a girl over email that might be the most iconic slide of all time.
  • And we close out with the story of a seven-year-old boy's birthday letter to his dad in heaven, and the Royal Mail worker who wrote back.

Five Gold Logie Noms Without A Win, Leaving The Jungle & A 16-Year Marriage & A Late ADHD Diagnosis. Uncut with Julia Morris06 Aug 202600:51:31

Hey Lifers!
Today's guest has to be one of the most recognisable personalities in Australian entertainment. It’s  TV host, comedian, five-time Gold Logie nominee and, until this year, the queen of the jungle herself, Julia Morris.

After 12 years hosting I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, Julia found out the show wouldn't be returning to its old network and she joined us fresh off processing that huge identity shift. We get her Accidentally Unfiltered story (a very unfortunate wrong recipient text sent the night before the Gold Logies), what actually goes on behind the scenes in the South African jungle, and how redesigning her life. “Adapt or Die” she says. And hate clean!

Julia also gets real with us about leaving a 16-year marriage, realising she'd been in a controlling relationship, and how being diagnosed with ADHD in her 50s helped explain patterns she'd never noticed. She talks candidly about "the great unfucking" of perimenopause and redesigning her whole life with her friends and being a mum to older girls.

And because we are absolutely not impartial: Julia is up for her fifth Gold Logie nomination this year, and we want her to win it. Link to vote is HERE

You can find more from Julia Morris on her Instagram

Britt's Fertility Update & The Ariana Grande Conversation We've Been Avoiding04 Aug 202601:02:59

Hey Lifers!

Do you like adventure or did you also pretend? Britt kicks things off with the story of the time she nearly lost her fingers on a bungee jump, which sends Laura down memory lane to her own bungee-related panic attack and the moment she realised she might not be as "adventurous" as she thought; cue a chat about being a bit of a relationship chameleon over the years.

Britt then shares a personal update on her fertility and IVF journey and news about what's next for her and Ben. Laura shares the terrifying scare she had with her dog Buster last week, a health emergency that had her fearing the worst, and a reminder to always trust your gut when it comes to your pets.

Last week we (somehow) ended up speaking about ‘sex lists’ and the strange names we all attribute to some of our ‘experiences.’ Today we share some of your funniest sex lists!

Next up, we have a conversation that we've gone back and forth on having for a long time: Ariana Grande. Off the back of the release of her new music video "Petal" and the absolute onslaught of commentary about her body, we unpack where the line sits between genuine concern, public shaming, and who actually bears responsibility in moments like this.

Content warning: This episode contains a discussion of eating disorders and disordered eating. If this is triggering for you or you'd like to speak to someone, you can call the Butterfly Foundation on 1800 33 4673, or visit butterfly.org.au.

Ask Uncut: Wedding Nudes, Tight-Arse Friends And Charging My Boyfriend Rent02 Aug 202600:43:38

Welcome back to Ask Uncut, where we answer your deep, dark and burning questions! Before we get into it, Britt has a story that will not be leaving her brain any time soon. Delilah went out for her last toilet break of the night and came back with an uninvited passenger.

Vibes of the week:
Britt — Abel Ceramics
Laura — Feel Better Live More with Dr Rangan Chatterjee: "The Daily Habits That Protect Your Brain at Any Age" with Dr David Perlmutter

Then it's into your questions!

HOW FAR DO I TAKE THE NAKED POLAROID TREND?
I'm getting married in September and my partner loves the trend where bridesmaids slip cheeky Polaroids to the groom on the wedding day. My question is: how far are we taking this? I'm all for a cheeky photo, but what if a naked photo of me falls out of his jacket pocket and is seen by a family member? Do I make them too explicit, or should they be more covered up? It's a little wild to have them at an event where everyone I know is there. If it gets picked up by the wrong person, they'll know exactly who it is.

MY FRIEND IS A MASSIVE TIGHT ASS
We're a group of friends, and one particular friend is always the tight ass. Small things like not paying you back for weeks, only splitting the bill if she's had more drinks than everyone else, always rounding down when we transfer money. Recently she organised a group activity and we figured out she actually profited off our contributions. How do we bring this up? Is it worth it, or do I just slowly moonwalk out of the friendship? She's definitely not struggling financially, she just has always been tight.

HOW DO I FIND A GUY WITHOUT BEING A STALKER?
About a year and a half ago, my ex's friend asked me out and I said no. It was too soon, too close to home. I recently ran into him at his workplace and realised I'd actually like to go on a date with him now. I know he's single, but he's not on social media, I don't have his number, and I can't exactly show up at his work without looking desperate. How do I ask him out or spontaneously meet him?

SHOULD I TELL MY BOYFRIEND HE'S ESSENTIALLY PAYING OFF MY MORTGAGE?
I bought my apartment five years ago and only have about $80K left on the mortgage. My boyfriend is moving in, and since we'd be paying $400 a week each if we were renting, that's what I've asked him to contribute. The catch is my mortgage is interest-only and only costs $300 a month. So his contribution is basically paying it off super fast, and I haven't told him how little is actually left. I don't think it's unfair, since he'd pay the same renting anyway. What should I do?"

Offcuts: Fantasy Coffins, Chelsea Handler's Family Rules & Usher's Dismissive Grind31 Jul 202600:38:17

Welcome to Offcuts, where we chat about whatever piqued our interest this week in a light, fun little package to send you off on your weekend! Laura's kid just smashed 100 days of school (in the cutest granny costume you've ever seen), and we're diving into fantasy coffins; literal works of art you can be buried in. Penis-shaped or otherwise. We unpack Chelsea Handler's now-infamous, ultra-detailed family vacation manifesto and whether it's fair to publicly shame your own family for content. Then we get into Usher's dismissive, borderline-childish reaction to a fan who didn't want to be grinded on at his concert. And finally, the manager’s "one week's notice" gastro group chat text that's gone properly viral.

We chat:

  • Lola's 100 days of school granny costume 👵
  • Fantasy coffins; what would YOU be buried in?
  • Chelsea Handler's viral 9-page family vacation manifesto
  • Usher's very unimpressed reaction to a fan who didn't want to grind on stage
  • The "gastro outbreak, one week's notice please" group chat drama

Told She'd Never Walk, Talk, or Live. Then She Won Gold at the Paralympics - Uncut with Alexa Leary30 Jul 202600:43:06

This week we sat down with Alexa Leary; two-time Paralympic gold medallist, world record holder, and author of Sink or Swim. You might know her as Lex. You definitely know that viral clip of her dancing in Paris. In 2021, Lex was 19 and training to be a professional triathlete when a cycling accident left her with one of the most severe traumatic brain injuries Royal Brisbane Hospital had ever seen. She wasn't supposed to survive. She had seven brain operations. Doctors told her family twice to come and say goodbye. Three years later, she broke the world record in Paris.

Lex talks about what life with a TBI actually looks like day to day: the four years of memory wiped, waking up not knowing where she is, the boyfriend she couldn't remember, and the really dark period she's written about in her book for the first time. She is funny, warm, completely unfiltered, and has a really unique perspective on her second life.

We chat:

  • The accident and the miracle chain of events that saved her
  • Four to five years of memory wiped - including her relationship, her best friend, and a tattoo she has no memory of getting
  • What a traumatic brain injury actually looks like from the inside & the stuff nobody sees
  • The really low period in the middle of it all, and what she wants anyone in that place to know
  • How swimming went from rehab to two gold medals and a world record in Paris
  • The quantum healer who predicted her medal haul from the ICU and was right
  • Her new book and the chapter she never thought she’d share

The Most Divisive Voice Memo We've Ever Heard & Keeshia's Emotional Send-Off28 Jul 202600:56:53

Hey Lifers! Grab the tissues for this one, it's Keeshia's very last episode with us.

Britt's off-the-shoulder wardrobe malfunction nearly gives poor Lachy a heart attack, the girls compare their infamous "keyword" notes, and we unpack the great Butter Yellow Instagram takeover of 2026 (and how the algorithm knows exactly which conspiracy theory to serve you next). There's also a deep dive into the emergency alert conspiracy rabbit hole, and a quiche-making disaster.

Then it's time to say goodbye. We take a walk down memory lane through five and a half years of Keeshia, from the 40-minutes-late first lunch meeting in Bondi, to the wedding dress airport security saga, to a truly staggering amount of bin chat. It's emotional, it's chaotic, and it's very, very us.

To close things out, we play the most divisive voice memo in Life Uncut history: a guy who sent his date an extremely detailed message about needing to "test sexual compatibility" on a second date, and debate whether brutal honesty like that deserves applause or side-eye. Naturally, that leads us back to the greatest voice memo of all time: the man who followed up a month of silence with a 10-second recording of a fart he found on the internet. We need your rogue voice memo stories, send them in.

TIMESTAMPS
00:00 - Intro: Britt's see-through top mishap and the Butter Yellow Instagram takeover

Ask Uncut - He's Scoring Our Sex Life Out Of Ten26 Jul 202600:53:06

Welcome back to Ask Uncut where we answer your deep, dark and burning questions! If you missed last Wednesday's episode, yes, it's true, and yes we're still crying about it. This is Keeshia’s last ask uncut and vibe so she is doing a bit of a 5 in 1 recommendation.

Vibes and unsubscribes this week:
Keeshia: swapping the TV for a nightly run of five dinner-table games
Wordle
Worldle
Connections
Quizl
Cryptl
Britt: Cape Fear
Laura: World War II With Tom Hanks

Then we get into your questions!

HE'S KEEPING A SCORED LOG OF OUR SEX LIFE
I recently found out my partner keeps a log of our sex life - dates, locations, what we did, and a rating out of ten. He's also noted that he's not satisfied and that it's "too vanilla." Is this normal behaviour for a man in his 40s?

HE TOLD ME MY KISSING STYLE ISN'T FOR HIM
We've just started being intimate and he kindly let me know my kissing style isn't up his alley - apparently I move my jaw too much. I've only ever kissed one way. How do you actually kiss "differently"?

MY BOYFRIEND'S CONSERVATIVE VIEWS ARE MAKING ME QUESTION EVERYTHING
I'm a 28-year-old woman of colour who's found someone chivalrous, funny and affectionate except he doesn't believe in transpeople, is against workplace inclusivity, and thinks a woman's body count shouldn't exceed his. I lied about mine. Is this a dealbreaker?

CAN I PULL OUT OF BEING A BRIDESMAID A MONTH OUT?
My friend of 20 years is getting married in four weeks and I'm a bridesmaid, but I can't stand her fiancĂŠ and I'm starting to worry he might be controlling behind closed doors. Can I bail?

Guest Ask Uncut: Urzila Carlson Is Back (And She's Not Giving The Ring Back)23 Jul 202600:46:17

Hey lifers!
Our guest Ask Uncut is back with a special guest to help unpack your deep and burning questions! It’s Urzila Carlson, comedian, actor and certified petty queen, back for her THIRD time on the pod!
You can listen/watch her other episodes here:
A Tracksuit Pants & A Puffer Jacket Movie Star - Uncut with Urzila Carlson

GAGS, GUNS AND GRENADES - Uncut with Urzila Carlson

We kick things off with Urzila's pettiest hill to die on: an airport baggage carousel showdown that turns into a full-blown "if you're going to be an asshole, I'm going to out-asshole you" saga, plus the diamond engagement ring she flatly refuses to give back to her cheating ex.

Then we get into it cheating in queer relationships, dating (or very much not dating) after divorce, and protecting her kids from the revolving door of new partners.

Then we jump into your questions!

MY DAD IS DATING THREE WOMEN AND WE FOUND OUT HE'S SEEING HIS EX TOO
My parents got divorced five years ago and my dad has been dating ever since. He's currently seeing three different women (none of whom are officially his "girlfriend"), and my sisters and I just found out via his iPad that he's also back with his ex. He lies to us about seeing her because he knows we don't like her. Do we say something, or is this none of our business?

MY NEIGHBOUR GOT FINED $800 FOR HER BARKING DOG AND IT WAS MY FAULT
I complained to the council about my neighbour's dog barking all day and night. I didn't expect them to actually act on it. She's now been fined $800 and I've heard she's not in a great financial position. The dog has finally stopped barking, but I feel like a monster. Do I come clean, or try to anonymously help her pay it off?

I LIED AND SAID I WAS A MORNING PERSON TO IMPRESS MY BOYFRIEND
Eighteen months ago, early in our relationship, I told my boyfriend I was a morning person because he loves sunrise walks and coffee dates. I am not a morning person. We've now moved in together, my alarm goes off at 5:45am every day, and I hate my life. Do I finally tell him the truth?

I'M EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT AND MY PARTNER IS WORRIED HE WON'T GET ENOUGH OF MY TIME
My partner has mentioned a few times that he's concerned I won't have enough time or love for him once the baby arrives. It's made me feel like I'm mothering him instead of building a family with him. Am I being hormonal, or is this a red flag?

We also get the full, chaotic story behind the name of Urzila's new show Fatty On A Yacht, including the time she showed up to what she thought was a mate's dad's tinny for a fishing trip... and it was actually a super yacht party, complete with a Bluey life jacket and a life jacket she later bought secondhand and power-washed herself.

We Have Some Very Big News… & The YSL Hamper That Broke A Marriage21 Jul 202600:51:06

Hey Lifers! We are finally all back in one room after weeks of holiday mode, sinus infections and very aggressive Do Not Disturb settings, and there is a LOT to get through.

First up, Laura's just landed back from Bali with a toddler who went down like a sack of gastro, and we catch up on everything we’ve missed while everyone was mixing and matching holidays. Then it's time to address the elephant in the pants: the Facebook discussion group came for Britt after last week's offcuts episode, and she is here to defend her holiday underwear rotation once and for all.

Then we sit down for a very emotional conversation. A huge change is coming for the Life Uncut team, and there isn't a dry eye in the room.

After that we unpack whether being called "lovely" or "hun" by customer service is actually patronising, or are we all just a bit too sensitive? And then, the story the whole internet is talking about. A husband wins a luxury YSL hamper at a work lunch, gives it straight to a female coworker in front of everyone, and now the internet has crowned it "the betrayal of consideration." We unpack why this one viral post has struck such a nerve with women everywhere!

TIMESTAMPS

  • 0:00 — Intro: back from holiday mode, sinus infections and Bali gastro
  • 5:29 — Britt's underwear scandal explained
  • 11:19 — Should the Facebook group nicknames stay or go?
  • 13:53 — The big announcement: a huge change for the Life Uncut team
  • 25:05 — "Hey lovely" vs "hey babe.” Is a pet name patronising?
  • 35:56 — YSL-gate: the hamper that's "destroyed a marriage"

Ask Uncut - He "Forgot" About 100 Nudes of His Ex, The Holiday Bailer & Charging Your 14-Year-Old Rent19 Jul 202600:53:14

Welcome back to Ask Uncut where we answer your deepest, darkest and most burning questions!

It's Britt and Keeshia today while Laura enjoys the tail end of her time off. She'll be back in the hot seat on Wednesday!

But first, Keesh has an Ask Uncut of her own: you're at a party, there's one designated party toilet, and the person before you has left some very unfortunate evidence behind. Do you clean a stranger's skid marks, or walk out and let 40 strangers assume it was you?

Vibes of the week:
Britt -  Lost in the Jungle on Disney+

Keeshia - The Basic Band

Then it's into your questions!

Q1: MY FRIEND BAILED ON OUR BALI TRIP AND EXPECTS THE GROUP TO COVER HER SHARE
A group of us girls organised a trip to Bali and we've all paid for flights and accommodation, split evenly. A few nights ago one of the girls messaged me privately saying she now has uni exams and can no longer come, and asked if it would be easier for everyone to just transfer her for her part. I told her I didn't think it was fair to expect the group to pay more to cover her costs, but that I couldn't speak for everyone. So she put it in the group chat... and nobody replied. Now she's acting cold and standoffish with me at work. Surely it's an unspoken rule that if you pull out for your own reasons, the group doesn't have to cover you? Am I the asshole?

Q2: CAN A WORK FLIRTATION EVER BE HARMLESS?
My husband and I have three kids together, but the romantic relationship is non-existent. I've suggested therapy and he refuses, so we're at a standstill: no intimacy, a lot of resentment, and I'm not sure it's even salvageable. Separating is an option, but I don't want to only see my kids 50% of the time. He's a good dad, just a shitty husband, so I feel really stuck. I've recently gone back to work and a coworker is laying it on thick. He's made it very clear he's interested, and for the first time in years I'm enjoying the attention... and feeling like a horrible person for it. Can you engage in a work flirtation and it be harmless, or is it just a bad idea altogether?

Q3: I FOUND 100 PRINTED NUDES OF MY BOYFRIEND'S EX
I recently moved in with my boyfriend of eight months. He was away for work the other night and I found a box containing about 100 printed nude photos of his ex-girlfriend... who he has an AVO out against. When I asked him about it, he swore black and blue that he didn't know he still had them. I personally find it hard to believe he magically forgot about a stack of photos that were very easily accessible. Any advice would be appreciated!

Q4: SHOULD WE TELL OUR 14-YEAR-OLD WE'RE SECRETLY INVESTING HIS BOARD MONEY?
My 14-year-old has just gotten his first job, and I've told him he'll need to pay 30% board from his take-home pay each fortnight. My wife is on board. Where we disagree: I want him to pay the money and assume it's gone, just like rent in the real world. My wife wants to tell him we're actually investing it all for him, to be handed back at 25 as a deposit for a house or unit. I'm worried that telling him would stop him from developing his own saving and investing habits. We'd love to know your thoughts!

Offcuts: The $1,000 Body Count Cleanse, The G-String Speedboat & What Would Make You Miss The Birth Of Your Baby?17 Jul 202600:52:04

Hey Lifers! Welcome to your weekend snacky snack!

Laura's away, so Britt and Keeshia are holding down the fort and Britt has arrived dressed like Daphne crossed with Velma (sexy Scooby-Doo, knee-high stiletto boots). We get into the cost of being a short girl, the floor-drobe method of outfit planning, the sniff test, and a heated debate about exactly how many wears you can get out of a pair of undies.

Then we get into it:

  • That Ryanair flight where a window blew out mid-flight and a man was sucked halfway out of the plane while his wife held onto his ankles.

  • Heated Rivalry's breakout star Hudson Williams was stalked through the streets of Paris to his private residence and his attempt to dramatically burn the stalkers' photos has gone viral. But why did the internet cheer him on when Chappell Roan was torn to shreds for doing far less in the same city?

  • Kylie Jenner has fronted the new "Kylie Edition" Meta glasses; a discreet camera on your face with Kylie's voice as the AI. We get into the fascinating history of the Kodak Girl, how tech has been using women to make surveillance feel safe and desirable for 140 years, and why we think this collab is a genuine betrayal.

  • The world's first Body Count Reset Centre has reportedly opened in Brazil. It’s a $1,000 spiritual cleanse to erase your past. Or, hear us out... you could just lie for free?

  • And finally, Belgian star Jeremy Doku left the World Cup to be at the birth of his child. A French presenter called him a "completely useless" dad for it. With one of Ben's own teammates facing the exact same choice, Britt asked Ben the question directly: would you leave the World Cup for me?

From Catholic Priest to Drag Queen: Guest Ask Uncut with Hannah Conda16 Jul 202600:53:55

Hey lifers! Our guest Ask Uncut is BACK! Once a month (ish 😂) we bring in a special guest to help unpack your deep and burning questions, and this month's guest is the phenomenal, fabulous, one-of-a-kind drag queen Hannah Conda!

You may also know her as Chris Collins, runner-up on RuPaul's Drag Race and a person who once seriously considered becoming a Catholic priest. The pipeline from seminary to sequins is more logical than you'd think, she assures us.

Then we jump into your questions!

MY BOYFRIEND CRIES DURING SEX. IS THIS NORMAL?
I've been seeing a guy for about four months and he cries roughly one out of three times we have sex. He says he just gets overwhelmed and it's pretty normal. It was cute at the start but now it's putting me off. Is this somewhat normal? Is he telling the truth? I don't have a huge dating history so I genuinely don't know.

MY BEST FRIEND LOST WEIGHT AND NOW I DREAD GOING OUT WITH HER
My best friend lost a lot of weight over the past year and looks incredible. I'm so happy for her. But our friendship has shifted. We used to be on the same level socially when we'd go out. Now she gets all the attention. She's more confident, and sometimes she feels a bit dismissive of me. I feel horrible even writing this. Am I a bad friend? I miss how we used to be.

I GAVE MY BOYFRIEND A HANDY AND GOT NOTHING BACK
My boyfriend of over five years just laid there, hands behind his head, completely blissfully while I finished him off. He did not touch me once. I left him to clean himself up and didn't speak to him for hours. Do I have the right to be mad? Should I have stopped midway and asked if he was going to touch me back?

MY PARTNER WON'T LET ME PEE IN FRONT OF HIM
My current partner of one year is wigged out if I go to the toilet while he's in the room. He'd rather I wait until he leaves. I find this a bit strange; it's never been an issue in past relationships. Are we peeing in front of our partners or not? And when we have kids, he won't have a choice, will he?

IS THERE SUCH A THING AS TOO GLAM AT A WEDDING?
I've been invited to a wedding and I want to do full glam; lashes, shimmer, colour, contour, the lot. My friends reckon it's disrespectful and that I'll look like I'm trying to be the main character. Is this actually a thing?

The Trolls Were Right! Britt Doesn't Know Her Husband & The Bachelor Producer Who Wrote a Tell-All About Sleeping With Pilot Pete14 Jul 202600:58:28

Hey Lifers!

Surprise! Britt is BACK! Keeshia is filling in for Laura this week while she enjoys the school holidays, and the girls waste no time getting into it: the bonus episodes with Ben that had half of you sliding into Britt's DMs to check if she was okay! We have an honest chat about why some things are easier to talk about from a scar than a wound.

Then - the trolls were right. After nearly 4 months straight with Ben (the longest stretch they've EVER spent together), Britt discovered something about her husband on the island of Capri that she genuinely cannot believe she didn't know. What did you find out embarrassingly late in your relationship?

Also, Britt left the country for four months and came back to find Keeshia beating butter with a scarf on her head. We get into cottage core, going crunchy, the microplastics rabbit hole, and the new counter-trend of "wellness anarchism" - because apparently cigarettes are back (they never left Europe).

Then it's time for the deep dive: The Love Producer. Julie, Pilot Pete's lead producer on the US Bachelor, has released a tell-all memoir about their secret romance. Britt, who has lived the Bachelor experience from the inside, has THOUGHTS. We break down what a lead producer actually does, the two camps of the internet's reaction, Pilot Pete's response, and whether this was a love story or a gross misuse of power. Britt also opens up about her own finale and whether Nick's producers knew he was picking no one, and how she'd feel if that story ever got the Love Producer treatment.

Ask Uncut - The 30-Year-Old Dating Rut, Best Friend Betrayal & My Underwhelming Engagement Reaction12 Jul 202600:49:54

Welcome back to ask uncut where we answer your deep and burning dilemmas!

Full transparency: we arrived at the studio at 8am and it took us approximately three hours to record 45 minutes of podcast because sometimes you just have to sit with your friends and feel each other out first. Efficiency is not always the word of the year in practice. We also need to talk about the fact that Roald Dahl — the man who wrote the BFG — was a World War II spy and fighter pilot before he decided to write children's books. And James Blunt was in the military before "You're Beautiful." You can change your career at any point.

LOST AT 30
Advice needed for a lost 30 year old. Honestly I’m really struggling being single. I’ve been told my hormone levels are low and the best option is to get my eggs frozen as I’m a single 30 year old. I’m not closed off to doing it but I just feel like a failure and putting it off. I’ve tried dating and any time I think I’ve found someone it’s always the same story ‘you’re amazing but I’ve found someone else, but I still want to be friends’ I’m exhausted with dating but I don’t want to give up because I want the partner and the family all of that. But I just genuinely feel like it’s never going to happen and to just give up on that life I’ve always wanted. How do I get out of this rut, dating is exhausting and the fear of getting my eggs frozen is just all consuming. And honestly I’m shutting down because of it. I just want some advice and preferably not the typical ‘you’ll find love when you least expect It

ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS IS ‘DATING’ MY EX
One of my best friends is now “dating” my ex. My ex, my best friend and I have all been friends for around 9 years. 1 year ago my ex and I broke up from a 5 year relationship. It was a fairly mutual breakup but it did come from me. Straight away after the break up my friend and my ex started getting really close and spending a lot of time together. I started to question if something was going on between them, which was always a sensitive spot for me during the relationship (as they were pretty close then but not this close). I felt replaced in my ex’s life by my best friend but I tried to move past it and even spoke to both of them about this which they told me nothing was going on. Fast forward to now where I have just found out they have been sleeping together and are in a situationship for the last ~7 months.

I am here to ask you how you would feel in this situation as I am totally over my ex and don’t care if he moves on but not sure how I feel about my best friend and what this means for our friendship. I feel she has totally disrespected our friendship. I think the expected response would be to stop being friends and it’s what I told myself I would do if this happened but now I am here I don’t feel that affected by it. Should I hold a greater standard for our friendship and move on knowing there are better people out there who have my back or should I just move on and continue with our friendship however that may look now?  For context she is very distressed about what this means for our friendship.

DO I REACH OUT TO GUY FROM YEARS AGO?
3 years ago I was casually dating two guys at the same time. After about 2-3 months of dating each guy, things started to get serious. I knew it was unfair to continue with both but I found it really hard to choose. Both had great qualities but I ended up choosing Guy A because I felt a deeper connection at the time and he was a friend of a friend (vetted). Fast forward Guy A and I broke up 2.5 years later. It wasn't meant to be. But now I can't help but think, should I try and see if something could work with Guy B? I dont have him on social media so I can't check if he's dating anyone. For context, Guy B messaged me multiple times throughout my 2.5year relationship. Initially he said he'd wait for me if I changed my mind. I never responded out of respect for my relationship. He would message me about mutual interests and even that he saw Guy A and I at a sporting match. Should I initiate conversation? If so, how would I go about it?

MY FRIEND GOT ENGAGED AND I FELT NOTHING AND NOW I FEEL TERRIBLE
My best friend got engaged last weekend and I said all the right things. I screamed, I cried, I asked to see the ring and asked for the proposal story etc. But privately in that first moment when she told me, I felt nothing. Not happy, not sad, just nothing. And now I feel like a really bad friend. Do I secretly not think he's right for her? Am I jealous? Am I just a bad friend? She is absolutely glowing and I feel guilty for not actually being excited for her. What is wrong with me?

Ask Uncut with Laura & Matt! She Charged the Old iPhone And Found Out He Had Cheated07 Jul 202600:47:36

Hey lifers! We're on holidays and that means Matty J is back on the mic!
Matt is now also a TV actor (despite being unaware of the genre of the show) and is joining Laura to answer your Ask Uncut questions! Matt is firm on one thing: this is the LAST time you'll hear from him for at least six months - unless you love it, in which case maybe we'll bring him back.

Then we get into your questions!

HE CHEATED AND DOESN'T KNOW I CAN STILL READ HIS MESSAGES

I charged up my old iPhone that he was previously using and discovered my ex of six years had been cheating on me before we broke up. I can still see his current messages, and I now know he's planning to have the girl over while I'm away on a camping trip. Do I cancel the trip and come home to catch them? Or do I leave it?

HIS CLOSEST FRIENDS DON'T KNOW I EXIST AFTER A YEAR
I've been in a long-distance relationship for almost a year. His family knows about me. We've travelled together. We've talked about the future. But his friendship group, who are mostly women, have no idea I exist. He says he needs more time to "understand the relationship" before introducing me. Am I being unreasonable?

MY SISTER-IN-LAW LETS HER KIDS TRASH MY HOUSE AND THEN JUST LEAVES
Every time my sister-in-law comes over with her kids, the house gets absolutely destroyed, and then she bundles everyone up and walks out the door without lifting a finger. I love having them over. I just don't want to be the only one who cares about the mess. How do I bring it up without it turning into a fight?

I'M 36, SINGLE FOR 13 YEARS, AND THINKING ABOUT A SPERM DONOR. HOW DO I LET GO OF THE LIFE I IMAGINED?
I've always wanted to be a mum. I've been dating throughout my single years but nothing has led anywhere. Now my fertility is lower than expected for my age, and I'm seriously considering becoming a single mum by choice. But I'm scared I'll be undateable. I'm grieving the family I pictured. And I genuinely

Spank Me Matty! Ask Laura and Matt!05 Jul 202600:48:23

Hey Lifers! Matt is back; dragged in, as per tradition, to cover the holiday break. They kick off with the state of Matt's chest hair, a debrief on Laura's ten days in India while Matt solo parented three kids and the homecoming argument that kicked off.

Then your questions!Have they ever considered divorce? Matt's answer is a roast chicken analogy. Do they both orgasm every time? Does Laura's ambition test Matt's patience? And there's the small matter of the Daily Mail article after Matt went on a podcast and casually mentioned that they're drowning in debt.

They also get into living with nana, what Matt's tattoos actually mean, whether they'd ever do couples therapy and the vasectomy update.

TIMESTAMPS

  • 0:00 — Matt's back! The half-shaved chest, the India debrief and the homecoming argument
  • 14:15 — How they argue, who apologises first and have they ever considered divorce?

  • 33:50 — Laura's ambition, the busyness-anxiety link and would they do couples therapy?

Ask Uncut Aftermath! The Threesome That Resulted in a Baby and We Finally Know What Happened28 Jun 202600:42:39

We're back with another Aftermath episode! If you've been lying awake wondering what happened to the people behind some of our most talked-about Ask Uncut questions, same. Today we finally get the updates we’ve all been desperate for!

The Threesome Aftermath
The question that went viral, flooded our DMs for two years, and made Brittany physically reach out and beg for an update. You might remember it: a woman wrote in just weeks before her wedding, after a pre-marriage threesome with her fiancĂŠ and a friend resulted in a pregnancy. The condom broke. Nobody said anything. A baby was on the way.

"Don't Sleep With Anyone for a Month"
A woman going through a devastating breakup asked her ex for one thing: don't hook up with anyone for 30 days while she finds her feet. He said he'd try but couldn't promise. We had pretty definitive opinions at the time. So, did he respect it? And did the one-month boundary actually give her the peace she was looking for?

"My Parents Won't Stop Suggesting Names"
A listener at 38 weeks pregnant is being driven up the wall by her mum constantly texting baby name suggestions. Is she being too precious, or is naming your child something sacred between you and your partner? This one spiralled because it turns out Laura, Brittany AND Keeshia have very strong feelings about unsolicited name suggestions (and a personal history involving a chatbot that shall not be named).

"Did I Betray My Friend Group?"
When a group all tries for tickets to a sold-out show and one person scores through a different friend, are they obligated to stay in the original group, even if it means missing out entirely? This one also had a personal twist when it turned out the question may have been written by someone who works in the Life Uncut team.

Have we answered YOUR Ask Uncut? We want your aftermath. Slide into our DMs or send us an email; even if you think nothing interesting happened. We just need to know. We need to put a full stop at the end of that sentence.

Ask Britt & Ben - The Visa Debacle, Living in Italy & How Ben Feels About Being A Plastic Bag23 Jun 202600:51:05

Hey Lifers!
Ben is back for a bonus round because you sent in way too many questions for just one episode!
They kick things off with the reality of living together full time: Ben's answer is "we're doing fine," Britt's answer involves the phrase "truffle pig". Ben shares what it actually takes to make it as a professional footballer and whether he ever tries to get under opponents' skin.

Ben opens up about life pre-Britt, how he knew she was the one, and the biggest fight of their marriage. They also get into the question everyone keeps sliding into the DMs: babies. Britt and Ben speak openly about their fertility journey and what it looks like from here.

Ask Uncut with Britt & Ben - Strippers at the Buck's, Sitting Down to Pee & My Husband Won't Move to Australia21 Jun 202601:02:36

Welcome back to Ask Uncut where we answer your deep, dark and burning questions! This week we have a very special co-host: Britt's husband Ben is back in the hot seat.

They recorded this just before going on a month holiday and their one year wedding anniversary. To mark the occasion, Britt reached out to her parents Nikki and Tony, who have been married for 48 years, and asked them for their best marriage advice!

We also revisit the greatest wedding chaos of 2025: Ben picking up his suit jacket the day they flew out, the photographer cancelling days before the ceremony, and the legendary cake gate. One year on and we are still not fully over it.

Then it's into your questions!

Q1: MY BOYFRIEND RESPECTED MY BOUNDARY ABOUT THE BUCK'S PARTY AND NOW THE OTHER WIVES ARE BULLYING ME FOR IT
My boyfriend is best man at his best mate's wedding. The three day buck's party has strippers booked for eight hours on the first night, and strippers are a hard boundary for me. My boyfriend agreed to attend part of the weekend but leave before that part of the night. When he told the groom, the buck was furious and then two of the women I considered my friends added me to a group chat calling me insecure and saying I'm "emotionally damaging" my boyfriend and the friendship. When I reached out to talk, they said they were too busy before the wedding. The wedding is overseas in four weeks. What do I do?

Q2: MY GIRLFRIEND HAS ASKED ME TO SIT DOWN TO PEE. IS THIS REASONABLE OR AN ATTACK ON MY MASCULINITY?
My long term partner and I have just moved in together. After watching a MythBusters episode about how standing to pee spreads germs, she's asked me to sit down from now on. I have no problems with my aim. I occasionally prefer to sit when tired or hungover. But mostly I prefer to stand; it's more efficient and comfortable. Is this a reasonable request, or is it an attack on my masculinity?

Q3: I MOVED TO THE UK FOR MY HUSBAND 16 YEARS AGO. NOW HE WON'T MOVE BACK TO AUSTRALIA.
I moved to the UK at 22 for the man I'm now married to. We've built a full life here; a home, a four-year-old, a dog, a cat. On paper everything looks settled. But I have always been clear that I wanted to move back to Australia one day, especially to raise a family, and he has always agreed. Now that I'm actually raising it seriously, he doesn't want to go. He can be stubborn, and the more I push, the more resistant he becomes. On top of this, I've had three consecutive miscarriages with the last ending in a D&C and it's made me feel even more strongly about being near my family. I also feel completely unfulfilled in my job. I feel stuck. How do you navigate this when neither person is wrong, but timing is starting to feel really important?

Q4: I'M 34 AND I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT TO BE WHEN I GROW UP. WAS THERE A MEETING I MISSED?
Everyone around me seems so certain about their lives. How am I supposed to figure it out?

TIMESTAMPS

  • 0:00 — One year married, Ben's back & recording from Italy
  • 5:41 — Wedding advice from Nikki & Tony married 48 years
  • 18:21 — Wedding chaos flashback: the suit, the photographer and cake gate
  • 20:22 — Q1: My boyfriend respected my boundary about the buck's party — now the other wives are bullying me
  • 30:40 — Q2: My girlfriend wants me to sit down to pee — is this reasonable?
  • 38:12 — Q3: I moved to the UK for my husband 16 years ago. Now he won't move back to Australia.

Ask Uncut - He Got a Hair Transplant and Wants Everyone to Lie About It, Warning the Next Girl & Drunk Brides14 Jun 202600:51:33

Then it's into your questions!

Q1: MY BEST FRIEND'S HUSBAND GOT A HAIR TRANSPLANT AND IS ASKING HER TO LIE ABOUT IT
My best friend's husband has gone from barely-there hair to a full comeback and he's been telling everyone it's down to diet and stress reduction. She knows the truth. Their friends know the truth. And now she's been put in the impossible position of actively upholding a lie she never agreed to, while everyone around her silently raises an eyebrow.

Q2: MY ABUSIVE EX IS NOW WITH ONE OF THE GIRLS HE CHEATED ON ME WITH. DO I WARN HER?
I was in an incredibly volatile relationship for three years; emotional abuse, multiple women, dating apps running the whole time. Four months out, I'm working on myself. Now I'm watching him post his new girlfriend all over Instagram. It’s one of the girls he was seeing behind my back. I want to warn her. But am I out of line?

Q3: WHO IS RESPONSIBLE WHEN THE HEN GETS BLOTTO AT HER HENS PARTY?
The hen got blotto, passed out, the night ended early and now the blame is flying. Is it the guests? The bridesmaids? The maid of honour? Or the hen herself?

Q4: I CAUGHT MY FRIEND REHEARSING HER STORIES IN THE MIRROR BEFORE A DINNER PARTY
I walked back into the room and my close friend was standing in front of the mirror, running through full sentences and hand gestures for a story she was planning to tell at dinner later that night. I reversed out quietly. She then told the exact same story, exactly as rehearsed. Is this genius? Is this deeply weird? Is this something everyone secretly does?

Offcuts: There's a Mouse in My Car, Drag Queen Trademark Wars & Are You Scared of Failing or Being Seen Failing?12 Jun 202600:43:20

Hey Lifers! Welcome to your little weekend snack!

We kick things off with a very pressing issue: Laura thinks there's a mouse living in the roof of her car. Keeshia shares her own rodent origin story where she spent her honours year in a biomedical research lab dosing rats with very high quality drugs. Laura's mouse had a rougher life. We also revisit the great childhood mouse escape where approximately 15 pet mice gnawed through their cage and moved into the family home, which did not end well for them.

Then we get into it:

  • Uber has dropped its Lost and Found Index for 2026, and the list does not disappoint.
  • Patagonia the brand vs Pattie Gonia the drag queen & the trademark war that's taken over everyone's algorithm.
  • Ballmaxxing. Men are injecting saline into their scrotums at home to make their testicles firmer, rounder, and more even. Is this actually so different from what women have been doing for years?
  • Is it the fear of failure, or is it the fear of people watching you fail?

TIMESTAMPS

  • 0:00 — Britt's on holidays, Laura & Keeshia are running the show (nom noms still on ice)
  • 0:50 — Laura has a mouse in her car. Two days in.

Miscarriage and Pregnancy Loss. The Club No One Wants To Be A Part Of. Uncut with Irena Gilbert11 Jun 202600:56:02

Back in 2020, we released an episode titled  “Talking Miscarriage” where Laura spoke about experiencing not one but two miscarriages. It is an episode that people still message us every week about. Six years ago the topic of miscarriage was still pretty taboo, and it has changed slightly but it’s still an experience that leaves so many people feeling alone and grieving privately.
Today’s guest has unfortunately experienced miscarriage a number of times.

We first got to know Irena Gilbert on The Bachelor Australia back in 2020. After that final rose, her and Locky have gone on to get married and build a life together! Before welcoming their daughter Ava in February 2024, Irena experienced multiple miscarriages; her first in 2021, her second in 2023, and now another just 2 weeks ago. Today we're sitting down with Irena to talk about something that affects one in four pregnancies in Australia, and yet still so often goes unspoken, pregnancy loss.

This conversation is not easy. But it is important, generous, and going to reach a lot of women who need to hear it.

Irena brings something rare to this conversation: she is both a woman who has lived through pregnancy loss multiple times, and a nurse with over 15 years of experience caring for women going through the same thing. The gap between what she knew clinically and what she felt personally is something she speaks to with a lot of honesty.

We chat:

  • When Irena & Locky spoke about having kids
  • Why their Covid-interrupted season actually gave them something most Bachelor couples never get
  • Her first pregnancy loss and why she felt she wasn't "allowed" to grieve it
  • How the second miscarriage
  • How partners grieve differently, and why their pain gets left out of the conversation
  • What miscarriage actually looks like physically
  • The statistics: roughly 280–300 miscarriages happen in Australia every day
  • Pregnancy after loss: why Irena couldn't let herself feel excited, couldn't take photos, and was still waiting for something to go wrong on the day Ava was born
  • Her third and most recent loss two weeks ago
  • Why this one hurt the most and what her obstetrician said that finally made sense of it
  • "At least you have a healthy baby" - why well-meaning words can be the most dismissive thing you can say
  • Why pregnancy loss and infertility are different experiences that don't need to be compared

You can follow Irena on Instagram

Steven Bartlett Ruined His Life With Three Glasses of Wine & The Comedian Who Got Fired For A Racist Skit 09 Jun 202601:06:29

Hey Lifers!
Britt is living her best life in Italy so it's Laura and Keeshia holding down the fort for this one. Laura gives us a little update on her first weekend away without the kids; two whole nights, dinner at 6:30pm with a seven minute door-to-car turnaround, and it’s pure bliss. She's also heading to India tomorrow at 5am for a ten day work trip and we get a bit of the BTS of what’s in store for the trip.
Keeshia is in one of those ‘scattered’ phases where she keeps doing stupid things that frustrate her, the people around her and also can be quite expensive ‘accidents’.

We share your worst roommate stories and they are some of the most unhinged messages we’ve ever read. Some are disgusting, some are absolutely deranged, and one involves a Tinder date being called to fix a blocked toilet.

A self-described comedian posted a video that racked up nearly two million views, cost her a job, and ignited a national conversation about race, satire, and what Australians are and aren't allowed to say; and she has not apologised to a single person. We question if "it's just a joke" can protect you legally in Australia? What are your actual rights as an employer when a staff member's public views trash your company values? And what does it say about us as a society that there's now a $46k crowdfund in her name?

“Optimisation culture has made us all miserable.” Steven Bartlett said that three glasses of wine ruined his life for three days. We ask whether we've all been so busy tracking our bio stats that we forgot to actually have fun. We chat sleep scores, going alcohol free, nonna maxxing, friction maxxing (more maxxings, we know, we know, we’re all over them) and adding ‘whimsy’ into your life in 2026.

Don't forget to slide into our DMs @lifeuncutpodcast with your questions or any remaining unhinged roommate stories we didn't get to.

Ask Uncut - I Know My Friend Baby Trapped Him, The Mother-In-Law Posting His Ex and The Ex Crawling Back07 Jun 202600:41:38

Welcome back to Ask Uncut where we answer your deepest, darkest and most burning questions!

Big news this week: this is Britt's last episode before she heads off on a month-long holiday through Europe with Ben. Laura and Keeshia will hold down the fort next week and no, they are not wheeling in the big box TV like a substitute teacher. Fresh new content is dropping throughout, so don't go anywhere.

Vibes of the week:

Then it's into your questions!

Q1: MY MOTHER-IN-LAW IS POSTING PHOTOS WITH MY HUSBAND'S EX-WIFE ALL OVER FACEBOOK
They've been together ten years. He was married before and, from what he's told her, his mum and his ex-wife didn't get along. Then out of nowhere: three separate Facebook posts of the mother-in-law at brunch with the ex-wife. Her friends think it's a deliberate dig. Her husband won't say anything because he hates conflict.

Q2: MY FRIEND IS PREGNANT AND I KNOW IT WASN'T AN ACCIDENT
Her friend has had an on-and-off friends-with-benefits situation for years with a guy most of their group doesn't approve of. Now she's pregnant. The problem: just weeks earlier, the friend had told her she was thinking about not taking the morning after pill and that "if there was anyone to have an accident with, it was him." She doesn't know how to show up, can't pretend to believe it was a surprise, and doesn't know whether to say anything.

Q3: SHE CHEATED. NOW HE'S USING IT AS AN EXCUSE TO BARELY COME HOME OR BE A DAD
A six month old baby, both on six-figure salaries, and the husband has decided to take a career change that means he'll only be home once or twice a month. When she raised concerns, he turned it back on her and accused her of not wanting to take responsibility for their child. The reason he's doing this? She cheated on him.

Q4: MY EX LEFT ME FOUR MONTHS INTO OUR MARRIAGE FOR THE LOCAL BARMAID. NOW HE WANTS ME BACK.
Five years together, two kids, four months into marriage - and he left. It's been two years of courts, separation and his bad behaviour (which he now admits was jealousy over her new partner). He's begging to come back. She still loves him. She misses the family unit. Her little boys keep asking for Mummy and Daddy to live together again. She's now in a new relationship with a man who is wonderful to her kids. She doesn't know what to do.

Offcuts - “High Value Women” Apparently Don't Accept Coffee Dates and Bad ROI on Orgasms05 Jun 202600:33:58

Hey Lifers! Welcome to your little weekend snack!

We kick things off with Laura's post-baby-number-three return to exercise, specifically, an aggressive 8.5km power walk that has left her pelvis in absolute ruins. We also cover the lengths we've gone to impress men in our past lives: spearfishing, drones, the works.

Then we get into it:

  • Clavicular is… ‘penismaxxing’.
  • The "high value woman doesn't accept coffee dates" TikTok trend
  • Young Australians are collectively wasting $2 billion a year on skincare they buy and never finish.
  • A woman in America has been arrested for posing as a real estate agent to film luxury $12–13 million Bel-Air mansions for her Instagram.

What It Actually Feels Like to Leave a Marriage When You Have Kids - Uncut with Tara Pavlovic04 Jun 202600:52:12

Today’s episode is with one of our very favourite Bach alums Tara Pavlovic. Tara was on Laura's season of The Bachelor back in 2017, and despite the slightly unusual premise of competing for the same man, she's one of the people Laura has genuinely stayed close with ever since.

Tara is currently going through a separation. Not in the past tense, not with the benefit of two years of hindsight. She’s currently in the thick of it, while co-parenting two young kids and figuring out what life looks like on the other side. And she wanted to come and talk about it, because she knows there are women out there sitting exactly where she was sitting a few months ago, wondering if it's okay to make the decision to leave.

We chat:

  • The post-Bachelor world: fake attention, disingenuous people, and why it made trusting anyone so hard
  • Years of couples counselling, trying everything, and the moment the penny finally dropped
  • What it physically felt like in her body when the relationship was no longer working
  • Why "staying for the kids" isn't always the best thing
  • Separation and equal parenting
  • The judgment that comes when you're the one who leaves
  • Discovering she can kill spiders, mow lawns, and do everything she thought she needed someone else for
  • "Do I believe in love anymore? Absolutely not"  and what she actually means
  • Life now: calm, present, peaceful, and genuinely happy

Tara also teases an upcoming podcast she's launching with Bachelor alum David Lloyd! Watch this space.

The ‘Roommate Phase’ - Are You Resting or Rotting? 02 Jun 202600:47:01

Hey Lifers!
We kick off this week with Britt calling in from Italy (hungover, again 👀) and why it took us YEARS to stop performing on camera and actually just be ourselves with our naturally low voices.

Laura had a suspicious parcel arrive at her front door. It was full of syringes, tiny vials, and one very tanned man who came to collect it. We speak about the world of Melanotan, carrot maxing, and the very real question of whether eating 20 carrots a day will make you glow.

The roommate phase
Is your relationship resting or rotting? There's a big difference, and we break it all down from the red flags that say you're rotting to why the roommate phase is actually really common, and sometimes even kind of… nice? We chat about the trenches of parenthood, feeling a little flat in your relationship and finding novelty.  Keeshia opens up about where she's at in her relationship and why she's genuinely embracing the rest.

We wrap up with sucks and sweets; Britt is a year into marriage and almost forgot her anniversary, Laura's baby Poppy is pulling herself up on everything and immediately face-planting, and Laura's heading to India with her sister.

Ask Uncut - Shared Toothbrushes Are NOT a Relationship Milestone & A Heartbreak That Came Out of Nowhere31 May 202600:49:54

Welcome back to Ask Uncut where we answer your deepest, darkest and most burning questions!

Vibes of the week:

Then it's into your questions!

Q1: MY BOYFRIEND HAS BEEN USING MY TOOTHBRUSH. REGULARLY.
Six months in, she catches her boyfriend putting her toothbrush back in the holder. He casually says, "I thought we were at that stage." She was so shocked she didn't react. Now she has the biggest ick of her life and doesn't know how to bring it up.

Q2: OUR FRIENDS COPIED OUR ENTIRE RENOVATION
After years of work, late nights, and an enormous amount of emotional labour, her renovation is done and she loves it. Then her friends started their reno, asked a lot of very specific questions — and have now copied the whole thing. Right down to the tiles, stones and room colours. Her husband doesn't see the issue. She does.

Q3: I THINK MY BOYFRIEND MIGHT BE SECRETLY RICH AND HIDING IT FROM ME
Eight months in, she loves him and can see a future with him. But he's weirdly intense about splitting everything to the dollar and she's accidentally seen investment account balances, a large transfer, and a land tax invoice on his kitchen bench. He's never mentioned any of it.

Q4: FIANCE BROKE OFF ENGAGEMENT AFTER ‘FALLING OUT OF LOVE’
They'd been together four years, engaged for one. Both mid-20s. This was her first relationship and therefore her first heartbreak. He told her he'd been dealing with doubts internally for months before finally saying he'd fallen out of love and ending the engagement. She moved back home to her mum's. They've had three weeks of no contact and it's killing her. She still loves him and wants to know: can people fall back in love?

Offcuts - The Nom Noms Are *Temporarily Gone, Plus Ones Are Banned & The Enhanced ‘Drug’ Olympics29 May 202600:48:43

Hey Lifers! Welcome back to your weekend treat.

The nom nom nom discourse is real, it is divisive, and the feedback has been received. Laura is personally victimised. We will poll you.

Then we get into it:

  • Taylor Swift is getting married and there’s plus one drama. We ask if wedding guests have a right to feel hurt when their partner doesn't make the cut?
  • A woman on TikTok cried on camera because 39 children took over the pool and hot tub at her hotel; a hotel she specifically chose for the pool and hot tub.
  • You can hire a woman for $500 to turn up to your funeral. It’s petty, but it’s also impactful.
  • The Enhanced Games just wrapped up in Las Vegas. We speak about legal doping, $1 million prize pools, and Aussie Olympic swimmer James Magnussen throwing himself back in a decade after his Olympic career ended. Did anyone break any records? Is the IOC being petty? Should the Olympics just pay their athletes more? We get into all of it.

⏱️ TIMESTAMPS

0:00 — The nom nom nom saga

7:56 — Taylor Swift's wedding: no venue on the invites, no plus ones, and is Blake even invited?

21:16 — Woman goes viral crying over 39 kids taking over the hotel pool and hot tub

30:57 — The $500 funeral mourner: arrives in a limo, cries, disappears

39:49 — The Enhanced Games: legal doping, $1 million prize pools, and it just happened in Vegas
