Joining Deb is author, podcaster, founder and CEO of Powerful Professionals, Kim Walsh Phillips, as she shares her personal journey of leaving behind the corporate grind and embracing a life of entrepreneurial success. 135. Intuition and a Multi-Million Dollar Success Story with Megan Camille18 May 202300:35:43

Do you know when you are the most energetic? Do you know what your innate rhythm is? It's crucial to understand your internal energy flow that influences originality, judgment, and productivity.  Deb Boulanger talks with Megan Camille, a psychic and intuitive business consultant. Together, they discuss the importance of intuition in business and entrepreneurship. Megan shares her own experience of building two seven-figure and multiple six-figure businesses relying solely on her intuition and inner guidance.  Yes, taking risks and being entrepreneurial are difficult paths to success, but they are unquestionably some of the most gratifying. Despite beginning without a college degree, Megan Camille's career demonstrates that following your instincts and taking chances may result in significant success in entrepreneurship. If you ever feel the urge to launch your own company, go for it. Take chances, pay attention to your intuition, and don't be hesitant to invest in your dreams. You can achieve success by taking calculated risks, learning to trust your instincts and EMBRACE YOUR INNER REBEL.

  • Everyone has intuition, but it needs to be honed like a muscle

  • Intuition can provide accurate predictions, but not the in-between journey

  • Most people don't follow their intuition due to reliance on logic and statistics over intuition

  • Combination of intuition and business knowledge for successful entrepreneurship

  • Logging daily activities and moments of inspiration, creativity, and fatigue can help identify one's natural rhythm

  • Intuitive hits can lead to magic and ease in decision-making.

  • Following social media feeds and constantly comparing oneself to others can hinder listening to internal guidance

  • Discovering one's natural rhythm can lead to greater potency and less obligation or sacrifice in work

[16:29 - 24:25]  Trusting Intuition for Business Success

  • Trusting intuition is crucial in business

  • Exercising the muscle of trust can strengthen intuition

  • Trusting intuition can lead to opportunities and success in business

  • Leaping from five figures to seven figures in revenue requires trusting intuition and leveraging automation

[24:26 - 34:02] The Importance of Investing in Your Business

  • Investing in your business is key to success

  • Embrace your rebel and do things differently

  • Logic is important, but intuition should guide business decisions

"Knowing the different aspects or parts of yourself, like the inner child, the inner critic, the golden child, the shadow, all of these aspects have their own interpretation of what's going on. And so we want to be making our decisions from intuition, which is our true self, even if that alerts the inner critic." Megan Camille, on the Importance of Nervous System Regulation

131. Strategies to Fight Self-Sabotage to Success with Pat Pearson06 Apr 202300:35:02

In this reboot edition of Life After Corporate, Deb talks with Pat Pearson. They explore the topic of self-sabotage and its impact on women in particular during the current economic climate. They outline practical steps for creating a career and revenue stream that YOU can control. Pat explains how self-sabotage is an internal barrier that we, ourselves put in place, (often unconsciously), due to our own belief systems, self-esteem and permission from our past. With Pat's guidance, the discussion explores the four psychological components that create our belief in what we deserve, and how to increase that level in order to take control of our careers, relationships, health and overall success. 128 Is it Ethical to Use ChatGPT to Create Your Marketing?24 Feb 202300:30:13

Today, Deb talks about ChatGPT. What it is, why it's good, why it's bad. Whether we like it or not, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is here and it's just getting bigger by the day. (Welcome to the 21st Century). However, there's a right way to use this tool and Deb takes you through each step she took while experimenting with it.  You'll hear about some really great content it generated, and you'll also hear about some content that could get you in trouble if you don't do your due diligence. (aka, you might want to set up your lawyer on speed dial).

[00:01- 8:24] The Benefits of ChatGPT and all other AI Platforms

  • The "human-like"  language capabilities are impressive. You can prompt different tones (friendly, business, etc.)

  • It's quick and efficient to generate content.

  • It can create a steady stream of new ideas

  • It can save valuable time and resources that would otherwise go into research and writing content

  • AI really shines when it comes to statistics and data

[8:25 -15:25]  The Drawbacks of ChatGPT and other AI Platforms

  • The content can be bland and generic

  • The content that's created may not be unique and original

  • There is a risk of copyright infringement if the content goes unverified

  • Prepare yourself to get creeped out a little

[15:24 -22:38] Tips for using ChatGPT (and other AI platforms) More Wisely

  • Be mindful of any biases and inaccuracies. Make sure to verify the content that's being generated.

  • Don't rely solely on ChatGPT. Doing research on other platforms will give you a broader understanding of the topic and help you make more informed decisions.

  • ChatGPT is more likely to provide accurate and relevant responses if your prompt is clear and concise

  • Use ChatGPT to spark your curiosity. Think outside the box and learn about new topics that might interest you.

[22:39 - 27:40] If used Correctly, ChatGPT and AI can create "good enough" copy….

  • Help users can help generate a consistent revenue in their coaching and consulting business

  • It can help users leverage their time and expertise to create scalable programs and services

  • It can help users master the Three pillars of profitability to price their services accordingly and create a sustainable revenue stream

  • Content creators can get endless ideas for social media, newsletters, videos, etc.

Listen in on the conversation between Deb and Rachael Jayne as they talk about how the "art of feminine presence" is vital to your business and your life.

[00:01 -11:57] Opening Segment

  • Rachael Jayne talks to us about how transitioning from a customer service role to contributing to a personal development guru's organization, led her to the realization that starting her own business was the path to take.
  • The challenges she faced of starting a business, included everything from visa issues to ultimately achieve success in the personal development field in the US.
  • She focused on finding joy in serving others which led her to getting in tune with that emotional connection and helping people realize their potential was her passion.
  • She developed her skills through joining the Toastmasters to overcome her fear of speaking and found that she had a natural talent for it.

[11:58 - 29:13]  The Influence that Confidence Has on Our Success as Entrepreneurs

  • Personal development practices, such as mindset and communication, can help shift focus to something that feels better.
  • Stabilizing the mind, heart, gut, and body in this infinite dimension leads to an unshakeable confidence, rather than trying to constantly change the mindset.
  • Understanding the physical and energetic component of receptivity through the Art of Feminine Presence work
  • The benefits of being receptive, such as a quiet mind, inner peace, and a relaxed state of being.

[29:14 - 33:52]  Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

  • Understand your personality structure and how it may influence your tendency to compare yourself to others. (i.e, if you're a type four on the Enneagram, envy and comparison may be a part of your emotional habits). Recognizing this can help you to step back and observe the behavior rather than identifying with it as an intrinsic part of yourself.
  • When you notice yourself comparing yourself to others and feeling negative emotions, focus on relaxing your body and creating an open, relaxed state.
  • Cultivate an attitude of openness and receptivity to the present moment and to yourself. When you're in this state, you're less likely to be caught up in comparisons and negative thoughts.
  • Spirituality, or receptivity, can also help shift your perspective away from comparison. This could be something as simple as becoming more present or mindful. By focusing on receptivity, you can move into a different dimension where comparison is not possible.

[33:53 - 37:23] Rachael Jayne Shares a Client's Success Story

  • Jennifer was able to escape corporate and start her own business with the help of Awakened School
  • She learned to write her book and become a great speaker. She also went through the spiritual and personal realm with a meditation retreat and the Art of Feminine presence.
  • Through Rachael Jayne's programs,  Jennifer was able to shift her mindset and achieve her first million within two years.
  • She was also able to work through her traumatic childhood experiences by being open to receive work, which helped her to relax her system and avoid triggers.

123 A New Concept in Networking and Getting to YES Faster10 Jan 202300:33:53

Fortune 500 firms have paid Susan Trumpler for ten years to find the sales techniques and strategies that generate the highest revenue for their businesses. And although it seemed like she was giving away the keys to the kingdom when she revealed the findings of her investigation, she didn't want to restrict these strategies to just the largest businesses. She made the decision to incorporate all she had learnt over the years into something that would benefit female entrepreneurs. And this was the birth of "Unstoppable Women in Business'. Deb dives deep into Susan's concept in networking to getting that "YES" faster.

[00:01 08:20] Opening Segment

  • Susan tells us about her journey into coaching women in business
  • Trump's 5-step process includes understanding the customer's needs, creating a value proposition, crafting a compelling message, delivering the message with confidence, and following up
  • Sales isn't about being pushy or manipulative, it's about helping people and nurturing relationships
  • Seek out a mentor or coach to help guide you on your sales journey.
  • Build a strong support network of fellow female entrepreneurs

[08:21 -18:31]  Sales Culture can be Exclusionary to Women

  • Women are often left out of the "bro culture" in sales, leading to a feeling of exclusion
  • It's important for women to recognize their value and not undersell themselves in sales conversations
  • Use open-ended questions to learn about the other person's interests and needs
  • Approach networking events with the mindset of helping others, rather than focusing on your own fears or insecurities.
  • Practice active listening and ask questions to learn about the other person's interests, needs, and goals

[18:32 -28:25]  Challenges that Woman in Sales need to Overcome

  • To develop a sales mindset that allows you to embrace your strengths and not be afraid to put yourself out there
  • Women to build a strong network of peers and colleagues who can provide support and encouragement as they navigate the sales world
  • Self-doubt or lack of confidence in their ability to succeed in the sales process is something woman need to concur
  • Limited understanding of the customer's needs or pain points
  • Procrastination or hesitation in making the sales pitch or closing the deal

[28:26 -31:43]  Establish Yourself as a Unique Entity that Someone Wants to Develop a Relationship With

  • Focus on the conversation around what the potential client wants to do differently and why they want to do it, rather than dwelling on the details of your business or services
  • Sharing information about your unique processes can also help to differentiate you from the competition
  • Getting validation and agreement before moving forward
  • Asking open-ended questions can also be helpful in guiding the conversation towards a successful outcome
  • Focus on permission-based interactions and high-converting lead magnets

122 Slow Marketing for Rapid Results in 202303 Jan 202300:28:16

Deb Boulanger is  starting this year off with a bang.  She's throwing out the old tired conventional marketing tactics that have become antiquated and are no longer working and she's bringing in a bold new concept called Slow Marketing. If you haven't heard of it yet, you'll want to get a paper and pen as Deb guides you through the "what, how and why" of it all. I'm not going to lie… at first, it sounds a little scary, but when Deb explains it further, it all makes perfect sense. So get ready to shake things up for your Life After Corporate in 2023!

[00:01 8:14]  What is Slow Marketing?

  • Slow marketing is a movement that focuses on building relationships with customers, rather than relying on automation and technology
  • It is similar to the Slow Food Movement, which advocates for consuming whole and healthy foods.
  • Slow marketing values authenticity and personal connections, rather than buying into marketing hype.
  • It is a way to grow a coaching or consulting business by focusing on timeless strategies and tactics.
  • Building a successful practice requires a lot of effort and may not be the easy road, but it can be rewarding to make a living while making an impact on others.

[8:15 -14:41]  The Challenges of Entrepreneurship

  • Starting a business can be hard work and it requires a lot of effort to make it successful.
  • It can be easier to stay in a corporate job, with a steady paycheck and support from a sales force, marketing department, and finance department
  • However, many people choose to become coaches or consultants because they want to share their expertise and make a positive impact on others
  • It is important to have a solid foundation of business advice and strategies
  • Consider starting from the beginning of the Life After Corporate podcast to get foundational business advice

[9:17 -20:54]  Tips for Incorporating slow marketing into your business

  • Take time to get to know your clients and understand their needs
  • Prioritize face-to-face interactions and genuine communication
  • Focus on creating valuable, high-quality content for your audience
  • Don't be afraid to let your personality shine through in your marketing efforts
  • Consider using referral marketing to expand your reach in a natural, organic way
  • Don't try to do it all at once – focus on building strong relationships with a few key clients before expanding your efforts.

[20:55 - 28:15] The Importance of Listening and Asking Questions

  • Instead of pitching your services, ask your followers and potential clients about their needs and goals.
  • Pay attention to what people are saying and use that information to tailor your interactions and offer relevant assistance or resources
  • Building relationships requires active listening and a willingness to engage in authentic conversations.

109 The Cashflow Catch-22 And How to Avoid it07 Sep 202200:24:03

Merriam-Webster defines "CATCH-22" as: "a situation presenting two equally undesirable alternatives".  You can't invest in your business because you don't have enough clients and you can't get more clients because you can't afford to invest in the support to help you. This is a vicious cycle that many new business leaders find themselves in. When you're in this position, it's easy to misunderstand what growth actually looks like.  So if you're feeling stuck, you're not alone. In this episode Deb goes deep into the "WHY".  You'll find yourself saying, "Yes, that's me" more than once. Deb has some solid advice on how to go forward.
