“Fail, Thrive, Yes” w/ Lisa Jennett21 mai 202600:50:08

Lisa Jennett is one of those people who makes you feel more alive the minute you start talking with her. She carries joy, honesty, grit, and the kind of faith that does not require you to pretend life is easier than it is. She is a voice of encouragement, creativity, and deep spiritual honesty.

In this episode, Lisa and I talk about what it means to be fully human with God. We talk about joy, grief, forgiveness, disappointment, and what happens when faith has to meet real life in the middle of the mess.

We talk about the invitation to “be all the way human,” the tenderness of learning that “it’s going to be alright,” and the holy, messy, beautiful process of saying yes to God again and again.

This conversation is honest, funny, tender, and deeply freeing. I hope it reminds you that you do not have to perform your way into joy. You are allowed to be human. You are allowed to be in process. And somehow, even here, it really is going to be alright.

The Myth of Bouncing Back w/ Charaia Rush14 mai 202600:42:44

In this episode, I had the joy of sitting down with Charaia Rush, a writer and speaker based in Colorado and the author of Courageously Soft and her newest book, The Myth of Bouncing Back. Charaia carries such a rare and needed voice for this generation. She speaks with tenderness, grit, honesty, and deep spiritual wisdom for those of us who are learning how to stay soft without pretending life has not been hard.

In this conversation, we unpack the lies we often believe about resilience, especially the idea that strength means quickly getting over what hurt us. Charaia speaks so beautifully to the slow, sacred work of grief and the importance of lament as part of healing. We talk about what it means to bring our honest sorrow before God, how to stop rushing our own recovery, and why true resilience is not pretending we are fine, but allowing God to meet us in the places where we are most undone.

In her newest book, The Myth of Bouncing Back, Charaia offers a much-needed reframe around resilience. Instead of treating resilience like the ability to snap back into who we were before the heartbreak, before the failure, before the grief, before the loss, she invites us to consider something far more honest and far more holy: maybe healing is not about bouncing back at all. Maybe it is about learning how to rise for real. Her book walks readers through the process of lamenting, learning to stand again, rebuilding a beautiful life, and discovering who we are becoming on the other side of life’s hardest falls.

I pray this conversation gives you permission to stop rushing your process, to bring your lament honestly before God, and to believe that even here, even now, even slowly, you can rise again.

Friendship That Comforts, Calls Out, and Carries w/ Ebie + Anjel30 avr. 202600:52:15

My best friend, who is sunshine embodied, Anjel Murphy flips the script and takes the host seat in today’s episode, and what unfolds is less of an interview and more of an honest, unfiltered conversation between two friends who have walked through a lottttt of life together.

As you can probably imagine, we don’t stay on one straight path for long. But somewhere in the middle of it all, we find ourselves unpacking the sacred, stretching, and sometimes messy beauty of friendship. From the fine line between deep love and co-dependency, to what it looks like to call each other higher and disagree.

There’s something profoundly holy about having people in your life who won’t just sit beside you in your pain, but who will lovingly, faithfully lower you into the presence of the Lord when you don’t have the strength to get there on your own.

This episode is a little bit everywhere… but also exactly where it needed to go. And truly, it wouldn’t be a conversation between Anjel and I if it wasn’t. ;)

Digging Wells With God 23 avr. 202600:59:41

How do you sit down with the Hepworth’s to talk about prayer without quoting Tim Keller every five minutes? Apparently, you don’t. LOL Sorry, not sorry!

In this episode, Zac and I open up a deeply honest, unpolished conversation about prayer. Not as a formula to master, but as a relationship to return to, again, and again, and again. We explore the beauty and purity of prayer when it’s stripped of performance and pressure, and rediscovered as an ongoing, living conversation with God.

This episode is an invitation… not to pray perfectly, but to pray honestly. To come back to Scripture as a steady anchor. To remember that even in silence, even in fatigue, even in unmet longing… God is still near, still listening, still inviting us to converse with Him.

A Gentle Reminder:

You Are More Creative Than You Think w/ Charis Meyers09 avr. 202600:49:50

Today I’m joined by my friend Charis Meyers, a Boise-based graphic designer, artist, and all-around beautiful human, who opens up about her journey of embracing her inner artist and the freedom that has come with it.

We talk about the quiet but powerful truth that creativity isn’t reserved for a select few… it’s woven into every single one of us. And when we ignore it, we often feel it. When we suppress it, something in us starts to dim. But when we give it expression, even in small ways, something comes alive again. If you’ve ever thought “I’m not creative,” this episode is especially for you.

And if you’re local to Boise and in need of graphic design support, Charis is incredibly gifted at what she does. You can reach her at: charismeyers@gmail.com

A Life That Keeps Saying Yes w/ Pastor Stephen George02 avr. 202600:52:38

This week on the Let Me Ask You This podcast, we’re joined by Pastor Stephen, a man whose life feels like a quiet, burning “yes” to God.

Pastor Stephen is the father of one of my dear friends, Shifa, who you heard on the podcast just a few weeks ago (you can listen to her episode here!) Getting to sit down with her dad felt like stepping into a deeper layer of her story and into a legacy of faith that has been lived out over decades.

Born and raised in India, Pastor Stephen’s life has been marked by deep devotion and unwavering obedience. From the very beginning, his story has been anchored in one pursuit: to know Jesus and to make Him known. And that pursuit has taken him across the nations, traveling the world, proclaiming the gospel, and serving people in places many of us may never go.

But what makes this conversation so powerful isn’t just where he’s been… it’s how he’s lived. There is a humility to his story. A hiddenness. A kind of faith that doesn’t strive to be seen, yet has quietly impacted countless lives. As he shares his journey—from his early years in India to the many places God has sent him, you’ll hear the weight and beauty of a life fully surrendered.

In this episode, we talk about what it really means to live devoted to God. The cost of saying yes. The beauty of obedience. And the kind of faith that carries you across continents without ever needing a spotlight.

If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like to give your whole life to the gospel… this conversation will stir something deep in you.

The Language of Living Scipture w/ Benjiman Olsen26 mars 202601:07:50

On this week’s episode of The Let Me Ask You This, we have our friend Benjiman Olsen.

Benji is a pastor at our local church and carries such a beautiful, unique ability to invite people into Scripture. Not just to read it, but to truly experience it.

In this episode, we unpack how we actually engage with Scripture. Not as a task to complete, but as a living, breathing conversation with God. Benji gently challenges the way many of us have been taught to read the Bible and opens up a more relational, Spirit-led way of encountering it.

We talk about slowing down, asking questions, noticing what God is highlighting, and learning to approach the Word with curiosity and context instead of pressure and pretense.

In the episode Benji mentions some incredible resources, which are linked below:

Raising Kids (and Our Own Hearts) in a Sexually Broken World w/ Laurie Krieg19 mars 202600:54:05

You guys… this conversation lit me up. The minute Laurie Krieg and I started talking, I thought, ohhh man, buckle up. This girl can preachhhhh!!!!!

Laurie Krieg is the author of Raising Kids in a Sexually Broken World and the host of a podcast centered around sexual integrity, identity, and walking in the freedom of Jesus. She carries both truth and tenderness in a way that is so needed right now.

In this episode, we talk about what it looks like to raise kids in a world that is constantly forming their understanding of sexuality, but also how we, as parents, are being formed too. This isn’t just about behavior modification or “getting it right”… it’s about allowing our own hearts to be shaped and softened, bent toward the ways of God rather than the ways of the world.

We talk practicals, yes—but even more than that, we talk posture. How do we lead with both conviction and compassion? How do we create homes where truth and grace aren’t at odds? Laurie brings so much wisdom, clarity, and Spirit-led perspective to this conversation, and I know it’s going to equip you and encourage you in the most beautiful way.

And truly—if this conversation resonates, go check out Laurie’s podcast and all of the incredible resources available on her website (INCLUDING THIS AMAZING COURSE WE MENTION IN THE EPISODE) . She is creating such rich, needed content in this space.

The Ongoing Work of Marriage w/ Ebie + Zac12 mars 202600:54:33

In this week’s episode on Let Me Ask You This, Zac joins me for a rapid-fire conversation answering marriage questions you all sent in over Instagram. We talk honestly about what we are still learning after more than a decade married and how marriage is less like a finished structure and more like a living thing that keeps evolving, stretching, and maturing over time. We unpack the importance of your individual pursuit of Jesus, the way you honor one another, and the way you lay your life down for your spouse quietly shapes the atmosphere your family grows up inside of.

We did not get to answer even a fraction of the questions we received, so please let us know if you would like a part II to this episode!

To whom much is given, much is required w/ Peter Mutabazi05 mars 202600:55:03

In this episode of Let Me Ask You This, I sit down with my dear friend Peter Mutabazi, known to many online as Foster Flipper. Peter’s story is one that stretches the imagination of what love, obedience, and the gospel can look like when lived out in everyday life.

Peter shares his journey from growing up as a vulnerable child on the margins of Uganda to becoming a father who has fostered over 48 children, adopted three, and is currently in the process of completing additional adoptions. What began with the kindness of one stranger completely changed the trajectory of his life and opened his eyes to the reality of the gospel in action.

In our conversation, Peter unpacks what the words of Jesus mean to him: “To whom much is given, much is required.” He shares how that truth has shaped the way he lives, fathers, and serves families walking the road of foster care and adoption.

Peter is also the founder of the Now I Am Known Foundation, where he continues to advocate for children and equip families stepping into the foster and adoption space. But beyond the titles and the platform, Peter is simply a father who has chosen to make room at his table again and again.

I am so grateful for Peter and his powerful testimony. My hope is that this conversation encourages you and reminds you of the incredible impact that one act of kindness can have on a life.

The Gift Is Not The Goal26 févr. 202601:23:17

This week on The Let Me Ask You This Podcast are two dear friends of mine, Becca Biazon and Shifa Malfitano. Together, we unpack the idea of gifts, what they’re for, and why we’ve been given them. Ultimately communion will always supersede “calling.”

These two friends mean the world to me and I know after listening to this episode you’ll see why.

ALSO, Becca’s dad, Ryan also recently released a devotional called “Nudgings” that we mentioned in this episode! I have been going through it the past few weeks and it’s beautiful. Be sure to grab a copy!

We Say Shalom w/ Nigel Darius19 févr. 202600:47:21

In this episode of Let Me Ask You This, we sit down with author, artist, and storyteller Nigel Darius to talk about his newest book, We Say Shalom: 40 Words to Cultivate Curiosity and Connection.

Nigel is a creative whose work lives at the intersection of language, culture, and reconciliation. Through story, art, and reflection, he invites us to slow down and listen more carefully—to God, to one another, and even to ourselves. His voice carries both gentleness and depth, and who he is and this book he has penned is an offering for a divided, distracted world.

In We Say Shalom, Nigel explores 40 carefully chosen words that have the power to reshape how we relate to others. Each word becomes an invitation into curiosity instead of certainty, connection instead of division, understanding instead of assumption. Be sure to get your copy today!

The Strength of Weakness w/ Shelbi Shutt13 févr. 202600:50:07

In this episode, I sit down with pastor, speaker, writer, and disability advocate Shelbi Shutt—a woman whose life radiates the gospel. Shelbi was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, and her story of living faithfully, boldly, and joyfully inside that reality has reshaped the way I see weakness. Because of my own family’s journey with muscular dystrophy, our stories weave together in a way that feels sacred.

In this episode we unpack everything from what it means to carry suffering without letting it define your identity to the nearness of God in the middle of it all. If you have ever wrestled with limitations, felt reduced to your diagnosis, your struggle, or your circumstance, or you are navigating a story you didn’t choose… You are going to feel profoundly seen in this conversation.

ANDDDDD If this episode encourages you, would you share it with a friend? Leaving a review or subscribing helps more people find these conversations.

Seeking Arrows & Not Answers w/ Chelsey Taylor30 oct. 202500:47:27

In this heartfelt episode, I sit down with my dear friend Chelsey Taylor to talk about one of the most tender topics of all—the ache for companionship and the tension of unfulfilled desire. Together, we unpack what it means to hold God-given dreams without losing heart when the waiting feels long and the answers seem silent.

Chelsey vulnerably shares how she’s learned to look for arrows that point to hope instead of demanding explanations and answers—how to stay rooted in trust when nothing seems to move forward, and how to keep her heart open to beauty even in seasons of longing.

If you’ve ever felt the weight of waiting or wondered what to do with the desire that won’t go away, this conversation is for you. I pray you feel seen, comforted, and reminded that hope is never wasted.

Hidden & Held w/ Laura Douglass16 oct. 202500:42:04

In this week’s episode, I sit down with my dear friend Laura Douglass (@lauramdoug), a woman who embodies peace and carries an uncommon grace for encouraging women in the sacred gift of hiddenness. Laura’s life is a quiet yet radiant testimony of what it looks like to behold Jesus in every season, and her devotion drips with purity and presence.

Together, we unpack the beauty of silence and solitude, what it means to take our thoughts captive, and how true discipleship often happens in unseen, ordinary spaces. This conversation feels like a deep exhale—a reminder that being unseen by the world can mean being profoundly seen by God.

Laura is a gift to the world, and I pray this conversation reminds you that your hidden seasons are not wasted—they are where intimacy is formed and faith is strengthened.

Kingdom Best-Friendship w/ Anjel Murphy09 oct. 202500:57:33

In this episode, I sit down with one of my BEST friends, Anjel Murphy, to talk about best friendship… The kind that grows with you, refines you, and is committed to pointing you to Jesus.

From living together, to living across the street, to living across the country, Anjel and I unpack what it looks like to cultivate covenant friendship through life’s changing seasons. We talk about growing congruently and allowing the Lord to lead our friendship instead of fear or familiarity and how distance has only deepened what God began.

Anjel is joy encapsulated in a human and you’ll adore her heart and all that she carries! Be sure to check out the other episode we’ve recorded together here, and give her a follow on TikTok ;)

Obedience = A Life of Prayer w/ Zac Hepworth02 oct. 202501:03:39

Season 4 is here!!!! And what a gift it is to open the door to another season of Let Me Ask You This! I love kicking things off with familiar voices, so it only feels right to begin with my husband, Zac Hepworth.

In this conversation, Zac and I unpack what it means to live a life of obedience to God—how seeking His heart and His face in prayer is the truest place of surrender and devotion. We talk about the emotions that come with obedience, the wrestle and the wonder, and what to do with all the questions and feelings that surface when God calls us to trust Him more deeply.

This season is already shaping up to be full of conversations that stretch us, steady us, and draw us closer to Jesus. I couldn’t be more excited to lean in, learn, and walk with you into this new chapter. Welcome to Season 4!

An Untroubled Heart w/ Kara Stout16 juil. 202500:57:25

This week on the Let Me Ask You This Podcast, I sit down with my new precious friend, Kara Stout. Kara released her book, An Untroubled Heart, this past April and it's a beautiful book of prayers coupled with pieces of her story that speaks to believer wrestling with anxiety. I loved this conversation for so many reasons but what stands out the most is the beautiful way Kara shares her story and then invites listeners to pray scripture over their lives.

Together we explore the rhythms that keep anxiety from narrating her story, and how she discerns the difference between a life that’s full and one that’s fraying. We talk about the fear of surrender, and how Scripture became her steady place in anxious moments. For the listener who feels shame for being anxious—even while deeply loving Jesus—Kara offers grace, wisdom, and a gentle reminder: peace isn’t the absence of trouble, it’s the presence of a Person.

We talk about what fuels creative courage, how to tend to your heart when vulnerability is required, and what it means to show up faithfully even when doors don’t open fast.

For anyone who’s ever felt like the dream is slow, the call is heavy, or the path is unclear, this conversation will remind you that the long road is still a worthy one.

Chasing Sacred w/ Mikella Van Dyke15 mai 202500:47:30

What happens when the Word of God moves from something we study to something we savor?

Today on the Let Me Ask You This podcast, we’re joined by my scripture-loving, truth-speaking, fiercely faithful friend, Mikella Van Dyke—author of Chasing Sacred and founder of the women’s discipleship ministry by the same name. Mikella is someone who doesn’t just read the Bible, she runsssss toward it. And in a world of half-truths and spiritual apathy, its beautifully refreshing.

In this episode, Mikella breaks open the beauty of engaging with Scripture, walking us through how to anchor our emotions in truth, how to study the Bible when we’re tired or distracted, and why discipleship is not just for the few, but for you.

Fighting for Motherhood w/ Liz Mannchen08 mai 202500:55:25

In this episode, I sit down with my longtime friend, Liz Mannchen—someone I inherited through the miracle of adoption. Together, we’ve walked roads paved with joy, heartbreak, and a whole lot of holy surrender.

We talk about what it’s like to say yes to adoption again and again... even after doors close. We talk about the ache of failed placements, the courage it takes to keep hoping, and what surrender really looks like when your heart is set on becoming a mother.

If you’ve ever wrestled with the tension between calling and timing or if you’re holding a dream that feels just out of reach—this one’s for you.

Be sure to check out all the beautiful things Liz and her husband Uli are creating through Live As Lions and follow along as they keep building something sacred out of surrender.

Journey into Humility w/ Eniola Abioye01 mai 202501:03:07

In this heartfelt and honest conversation, I sit down with my friend Eniola Abioye—a missionary with Circuit Riders, a worshipper, a spiritual big sister to so many, and a woman deeply acquainted with the voice of God. Eniola’s life radiates contagious joy and deep obedience, and in this episode, she brings both to the table as we unpack something we all wrestle with at some point: insecurity.

What do we do as disciples of Jesus when insecurity creeps in? When our minds feel clouded with doubt, and our hearts start to shrink back from the call of God on our lives? Eniola offers not only wisdom, but presence—reminding us that the antidote to insecurity is not just confidence, but intimacy with the One who called us in the first place.

This episode is for the one who knows the assignment but feels a little shaky in the doing of it. For the one who loves Jesus but still sometimes wonders, “Am I enough?” And for the one who needs a friend to speak courage back into the bones.

I’m so grateful for Eniola’s voice, her life, and the stories she shares here. You will be, too.

Loyal in His Love w/ Tabitha Panariso24 avr. 202500:50:33

In today’s tender and truth-filled episode, I’m joined by trauma-informed counselor and debut author, Tabitha Panariso, as we gently unpack a topic so many of us carry quietly: rejection.

Tabitha’s new book, Loyal in His Love, is a sacred companion for those navigating the ache of feeling left behind, misunderstood, or unseen—especially in the context of friendship. Together, we explore the unique sting of friendship breakups and why those relational wounds often cut deeper than we expect.

With grace, wisdom, and a lived understanding of heartache, Tabitha invites us to consider: What does God’s loyalty look like when others walk away? How do we heal when friendships don’t end the way we hoped? And what does it mean to remain soft-hearted in a world that often hardens us?

Whether you’ve felt ghosted, grieved a shifting friendship, or are still healing from something unspoken and unresolved—this episode is for you. Tabitha’s words will meet you like a warm blanket, a deep breath, and a reminder: you’re not alone.

I loved this conversation—and I know you will too!

A Life Poured Out w/ Ebie + Zac Hepworth17 avr. 202501:12:47

In this deeply personal episode, Ebie shares the exciting news of her first book deal—a sacred unfolding that has been a genuine gift. But more than just an announcement, this conversation with Zac pulls back the curtain on the journey to get here. Ebie reflects on how Zac’s quiet, steady obedience created the space for her own, and how behind every “yes” is often a thousand unseen sacrifices.

As Holy Week unfolds, we look to the life of Jesus—not just His resurrection, but the road He walked there. A life marked by obedience, even when it included suffering. Even when the outcome was unknown. Even when the crowd turned quiet.

We talk about what it means to live a faith that is beautifully countercultural. To be the kind of people who don’t just talk about Jesus, but host Him—who create space in our homes, our dreams, and our plans to say, “You’re welcome here. Have it all.”

Freed By Truth w/ Deangelo Moss10 avr. 202500:43:11

On this episode of Let Me Ask You This, we sit down with Deangelo Moss, founder of Freed by Truth—a powerful ministry dedicated to walking alongside believers battling sexual addiction. With honesty and deep compassion, Deangelo shares pieces of his own journey, offering hope to anyone who has ever felt stuck in shame or silence.

He reminds us that this is a conversation that’s far easier to avoid—but far too important to ignore. In a culture where sexual addiction is increasingly common, Deangelo’s voice breaks through the noise with truth, grace, and a roadmap to freedom. As he puts it, his “mess became his message,” and now he’s helping others find the same healing he’s experienced.

Whether you personally struggle or know someone who does, this episode is a lifeline. Freedom is possible—and it doesn’t have to be walked alone.

Please note: Addiction is deeply nuanced and personal. What Deangelo shares is his experience and testimony—it may not reflect every story or every healing path. We acknowledge that the journey toward freedom can look different for everyone. But we hold tightly to this truth: you were crafted to walk in a life of wholeness.

Old Soul, New Creation w/ Jake Weidmann03 avr. 202500:46:03

Jake and his lovely wife Hannah are not only the co-hosts of the new podcast Made to Last, but also the visionaries behind Everyday Heirloom—a brand devoted to curating pieces that are meaningful, beautiful, and built to last. Dreams + Desires w/ Allina Kay27 mars 202501:07:30

In this episode, I sit down with my dear friend Allina Kay—an American missionary whose “yes” to Ukraine has stirred something deep in me for years.

Together, we unpack what it looks like to follow Jesus into a war-torn nation, and the sacred tension of saying yes to one dream while holding space for the ones that haven’t come to pass. We talk about the cost of calling, the ache of surrender, the nuance of dating as a single missionary overseas, and the beauty that can be found even in the middle of broken places.

Allina's life is a testimony to faithfulness in the unseen and courage in the unknown. Whether you’re navigating transition, holding hope for what hasn’t come yet, or wondering if your small yes matters—this conversation is for you.

All The Things I Say To God w/ Tanner Olson21 mars 202500:47:57

In this episode of Let Me Ask You This, I sit down with poet and author Tanner Olson (@writtentospeak) to talk about his new children's book, All the Things I Say to God: Learning to pray anytime, anywhere. This book is a beautiful reminder that, as God's children, we are invited to bring everything—our joys, worries, dreams, and doubts—before Him.

While this book is written for children, its message is for all of us. We unpack the heart behind the book, the power of childlike faith, and the way prayer shapes our relationship with God.

Tanner also shares a deeply personal part of his journey—his and his wife's experience with infertility, their path toward adoption, and the ways God revealed Himself in the waiting. If you've ever wrestled with trusting God in seasons of uncertainty, this conversation will encourage you.

In this episode of Let Me Ask You This, I sit down with my lovely friend Greta Eskridge to unpack her latest book, It’s Time to Talk to Your Kids About Porn: A Guide to Helping Children and Teens Develop Sexual Integrity. This is the kind of book nobody wants to have to write, but I’m so grateful that Greta did.

Obedience is Devotion w/ Zac Hepworth21 févr. 202500:58:51

SEASON THREE PREMIER BABY! Can't believe we are here! And with who else than my darling husband, Zac Hepworth?!

In this season three premiere of Let Me Ask You This, we dive deep into the connection between obedience and devotion. True devotion isn’t just about outward expressions of faith—it begins with loving the Lord first, and from that place, stepping out as His church. God has been inviting our family into a deeper intimacy with Him, a kind of devotion that requires a fresh and new level of trust and surrender. But what happens when obedience leads us away from comfort, or even distances us from those we love?

We wrestle with the emotions that come with obedience—fear, uncertainty, and the cost of following where God leads. Yet, at the heart of it all, devotion means giving ourselves fully to the Lord before anything else. From that surrender flows a life connected to Jesus, one that is willing to say yes—no matter what. If you’ve ever struggled with what obedience looks like in your own walk with God, this episode is for you.

She's never the loudest girl in the room but she's always the most compassionate. There is a steadiness and consistency to who Sammy is and how she shares the gospel that will mark you. She's a wife, a mom to a two year old angel boy, she's as competitive as they come, and spends her day to day as a physicians assistant. God's Child w/ Brenna Blain11 oct. 202400:56:31

Season 2 episode 18 on the Let Me Ask You This podcast is with my girl Brenna Blain. Brenna wrote a recently released and AMAZING book called 'Can I Say That?' and when I say I engulfed this book up in one sitting, I really did! I listened to the entire thing on a plane ride home and was in tears. The vulnerability of her story and the way she invites Jesus into the hard questions is such a breath of fresh air! In this episode we unravel the concept of suffering, community, mental health, same sex attraction, and the journey of inviting Jesus to reign in your life. I value this friends voice and walked away from this conversation so refreshed and inspired and I know you will too!

I wanted this episode to be more of a dialogue about real life instead of unraveling Brenna's story and so if you're here and want to hear more about Brenna's story here is a great podcast she recently recorded with Jackie Hill + Tyler Perry that you should listen too. Her story is raw, real, and has the fingerprints of Jesus all over it.

Here is also a link to her book, like I said, I can't recommend it enough!
