GUEST SHARED HELPFUL TIPS ON:

  • Where to start with lymph drainage
  • How to continue to move the lymph if you are injured or bedridden

ABOUT GUEST:

Leah is a licensed massage therapist, Vodder Method certified lymphatic drainage specialist, massage therapist instructor, and online educator.

In her Austin clinic, she assists and supports women as they navigate their unique healing journeys. She approaches the body with brain-based myofascial bodywork and Manual Lymphatic Drainage to harness the healing power of the lymphatic system. that has proven to be a valuable missing miss to their migraine, autoimmune, chronic fatigue, EDS, hormone imbalance, and endometriosis symptoms.

She is the founder of Lymph Love Club, which started out in 2020, with some silly videos that contained tips and tricks for her clients to help them keep up the lymph work at home. The response was overwhelming and it turns out that chronic folks who've slipped through the cracks of traditional medicine also needed this information and were ready to learn about, rebuild trust, and take ownership of their body's innate healing capabilities.

With all the healing journeys she's witnessed firsthand, she started to build out her first online course (Intro To Lymph Flow) and has become a women's health + self-love advocate in the process. Through her own self-healing journey of transitioning off of birth control and reversing her dense breast tissue with MLD, she's helped raise awareness about breast and reproductive health to help others gain autonomy in their healing.

As a kid the only thing she understood about money was that her family didn't have it. After becoming an entrepreneur, she realized that earning more was only a fraction of the equation. It was then that she committed to fully transforming her relationship with money. In a few short years, Hannah went from a negative net worth to becoming an investor, owning multiple properties, and building tangible wealth. Her own journey of financial liberation catalyzed the work she does today.

Hannah helps entrepreneurial leaders build wealth and become well-resourced by cultivating financial stability, sovereignty, and sustainability. Her commitment to closing the wealth gap inspired her to found The LeadWell Summit in 2021, an annual global wealth event. It's free to all participants and will be hosted again on October 17th - 21st.

The LeadWell Summit is a self-funded, grassroots platform for real, practical, and transformative discussions about building tangible wealth with world-renowned authors, speakers, and educators. • Stomach is often upset.
    • Seems like cooked veggies digest better for me
    • Eat a lot of fish.  Anything inflammatory I should know?

In this episode I answered listener questions from Mary and Jordan:

Mary is wondering about parasite testing and symptoms of moodiness, poor sleep, loose bowels, hair thinning, dry skin and frequent post nasal drip.

CASE REVIEW:
Jordan gives us a little more information and shares her case in more depth:

  •  History of eczema throughout my whole life, but only on arms and legs. Have had since I was a child. Presented as red, itchy bumps on legs and back and as flaky and itchy red patches in creases of elbows mostly during summer)
  • Started having Increased flares starting in summer of 2020 with itchy bumps and red patches covering most of body. Additionally, developed new type of severe eczema on my face, neck, hairline that had never occurred before. Before this, had never had any eczema on my face. Flares got increasingly worse over the next ~6 months.
  • Dermatologist gave 10 day taper of oral prednisone and topical steroids to help "heal eczema (Jan 2021) and then started on Dupixent (injections every other week). Stopped injections in Feb 2022.
  • After stopping injections had small amount of eczema on body, only small itchy bumps, nothing on face.  Face had another severe flare in July-August 2022 requiring topical steroids to heal again.
  • Additionally, only have 3-4 BMs per week. Do not use any stool softeners/laxative. (but uses motility support!)
  • Feeling very fatigued in the afternoons, trouble getting out of bed in the mornings for a long time. New issues of waking up in the middle of the night and occasional muscle cramping.
  • Saw functional MD who did blood work and Gut Zoomer stool test (Vibrant wellness).
    • Stool test with gut commensals high for leaky gut, moderate for SIBO and other categories. Low for cardiovascular health and IBD. MD gave supplement regimen and SIBO diet for 30 days.  Abnormal labs: OmegaCheck 3.0 (low), AST 31 (high), Vit D 33.4, B12 246
    • Current supplements: Magnesium citrate, Motility Pro, SBI protect, Atrantil; have been taking for 2 weeks, no supps before this.  control
  • Jordan also asked:
    • Do you have specific probiotics you recommend?
    • How to get away from relying on long-term supplement use for regular bowel movements (currently taking 450mg Mg each night, Atrantil, and Motility- pro)
    • What is your experience with using Low Fodmap or a SIBO diet for healing your gut/have you seen them be successful in the long-term with people able to add most foods back in?

I also give a bit of context to different ways you can look at an issue with the "healing triad".

#248 Could it be a mild-moderate mold problem? Checklist of symptoms with Christa Biegler, RD09 Aug 202200:25:54

Send us a text

In this continuation of episode 245, "I split tested my urine mycotoxin test," I go through dead ringer mold symptoms, a huge checklist of severe, moderate, and mild symptoms, and how I've changed my approach in practice.

You can also apply to become a client now and get your case reviewed right now in August to get started in September.  https://www.christabiegler.com/fss

Here are some dead ringer mold symptoms if you have 2-3 of them:

  • Nasal sores
  • Unproductive sore throat
  • Joint pain, especially in hands/feet
  • Lichen Schlerosus or sharp vaginal pain
  • Lymph node swelling
  • Increased allergies
  • Itching on the base of the scalp, especially at night
  • Significant negative "detox reactions" f
  • Mouth sores from citric acid
  • Chronic sinus congestion or throat clearing

If going through the symptoms is a little fast, here is a version of Dr. Jill Christa's mold questionnaire. I find people that score at least a 7 are positive for mycotoxins.

But I also think people don't check all the potential boxes (histamine issues, etc).

#244 I think I like you with Clara Artschwager, having a relationship without losing yourself, reading the room, seeking permission13 Jul 202200:34:08

Send us a text

This week on The Less Stressed Life Podcast, I am joined by Clara Artschwager we dive into all things relationships like having a relationship without losing yourself and how relationships affect how we present in the world.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  • "Your mess becomes your message."
  • Reading the room & the effects of being an empath
  • Common denominators in things around relationships
  • How relationships with people  and emotions keep us stuck
  • Neural pathways in how we exhibit things in our behavior
  • Relationships are about perfecting you.

GUEST SHARED HELPFUL TIPS ON:

  • Rewiring experiences & seeing the way in which we hold patterns
  • Attracting healthy love
  • Using writing for your self-healing work.

ABOUT GUEST:
I’m a dating and relationships coach and a writer. I often say I’m like the dating coach for folks that would never hire a dating or relationships coach, largely because I don’t actually believe marriage or relationships are the be-all-end-all. Are we wired for connection? Absolutely. But do I feel that comes in a variety of forms? Indeed.

I wanted a relationship, to be sure. But I also wanted a way of seeking it that didn’t feel me with anxiety and dread (or the notion that I had to treat dating like a job). And once in a relationship, I wanted a partnership that didn’t rob me of my own life.

I found most dating and relationships rhetoric— from five-step plans to Get the Guy to Instagram tropes on how to love myself (and now!)—to fall flat. Really flat. I wanted a more nuanced conversation around love and partnership. Why did I want it but also, in a way, fear it? What made it so uniquely hard for me? And so on and so forth. Women, and yes, some men, who jive with that conversation, are the ones who thrive in my programs and work.

#240 Ask Christa: what do you do if you still have "gut issues" after "trying everything" and thoughts on IF and improving energy in hypothyroidism + conventional GI approaches to functional GI and failed functional GI approaches.17 Jun 202200:25:52

  4. Frankie asked: What can I do for more energy and weight loss with hypothyroidism? I considered intermittent fasting but not sure what that would look like.

*I will mention that I work with a lot of subclinical (undiagnosed) thyroid issues but if you have a known diagnosis and have been on the medication train a while, another amazing resource is also ChewsFoodWisely (my friend Nicole Fennell, MS, RD runs this practice and she is a doll).

  5. Melissa asked: If one were to want a consult with you ? How would I go about that and does insurance ever cover ? …. I grew up going to - what I would call a healer … had major gut issues in college and he told me some certain foods to avoid and changed everything - I still avoid them - but within the last year I’ve developed a rash on both shins … some on my scalp … and no medicine is curing it … I have a strong inclining it could be gut related .. food allergy- something ….. and just kind of wondering some next possible steps I could take.

*I answered all these and more and made sure to address the role of conventional GI vs functional GI and then what to do in failed functional GI work!

#238 RAW: What to do if you have symptoms of low and high cortisol AKA feeling like you have adrenal fatigue or HPA axis dysfunction with Christa Biegler, RD10 Jun 202200:43:48

Send us a text

Warning: This is a raw/unedited recording of my discussing the below outline on an IG live due to many many comments on an IG post on my account about high vs low cortisol. You can view that original post here: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cd9ZOx5huGj/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

  • Couple years ago ran an "adrenal resilience reset" and here are some of the principles I discussed in that program:
  • Normal cortisol curve
    • Programmed by circadian rhythm: eating, sunlight, etc
  • Where cortisol comes from and other hormones produced by the adrenals and their roles.
    • 76% of health professionals show signs of burnout
  • Gas pedal/gas tank: resilience
    • CV-resilience issues and mitochondrial degradation
  • What to do: stop killing cells
    • 3 pronged approach from PHYSIOLOGY standpoint :
      • Minerals
      • Mitochondrial support
      • Custom adrenal support (might look like adaptogenic mushrooms, ashwaganda, valerian root, magnolia, lemon balm, magnesium, glandulars, licorice, etc. I mention L-theanine and GABA as favorites for anxiety as well and calming support). This will depend if high OR low and what you tolerate.
        • I also talk about why people DON'T tolerate things and answer off the cuff questions about headaches, etc,

    • NON-negotiables for lifestyle:
      • Sleep 7-10 hours
      • Limbic system work/neural pathway retraining
      • Gut/mold/etc issues
      • Eat enough regularly at reg intervals every 4ish hours PFC
      • LIFESTYLE: what is stresing you out? talking fast? appt to appt?
      • Exercise changes
      • Night shift

#228 How we are missing subclinical hypothyroidism: "Your labs are fine, but you're not fine" thyroid edition with Christa Biegler, RD06 Apr 202200:24:43

Send us a text

Hair loss, cold hands and feel and feeling tired are the big three for a sluggish thyroid. But relapsing gut issues, slow motility, sleep disruption, brain fog, slow metabolism, inflammation, low mood or anxiety, and dry skin can all be symptoms of a sluggish thyroid.

In this episode, we talk about how we’ve had to change how we’re approaching thyroid health in practice to ensure clients feel their best and maintain their results.

We talk about “dead ringers” of thyroid symptoms, blood versus tissue labs, thyroid nutrient cofactors and steps to take if you’re checking the boxes but not getting answers yet.

If you’re experiencing the issues mentioned in this episode (tired, gut symptoms, etc) and want testing + support, you can get it from our program Food Sensitivity Solutions & The Fatigue Fix. In it, we correct imbalances in the gut with testing and fill in the nutrient gaps (based on testing) depriving the thyroid of working properly.
