why are you trying to earn God's love?

Episode 38

samedi 25 octobre 2025Duration 28:21

hey homegirlsss. God started reminded me that His love for me is so much bigger than my love for Him. that sounds simple, but it’s something that changed the way i see everything.

so many of us have grown up in church believing we have to prove our love for God through effort. through serving, striving, and trying to do everything “right.” but what if the gospel was never about how much you love God, and instead about how deeply He loves you?

💭 in this episode, we talk about:

  • why God’s love for you matters more than your love for Him
  • the danger of living from self-righteousness and striving
  • how we misinterpret holiness without understanding love

📖 scriptures mentioned:

  • romans 12:2 — be transformed by the renewing of your mind
  • galatians 2:21 — if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing
  • psalm 103:8 — the Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love
  • john 10:10 — i came that they may have life, and have it abundantly

⏱ chapter markers:
00:00:29 – a hotel with no windows
03:00 – when faith starts to feel like performance
06:30 – God’s love vs our love
10:00 – the trap of self-righteousness
13:00 – living by the spirit, not by willpower
17:00 – God can be holy and still be Father
22:00 – stop striving, start resting
26:00 – final encouragement: let the Father love you

i've lost my fire for God.

Episode 29

samedi 18 janvier 2025Duration 01:02:46

losing your fire for God is probably one of the most frustrated and destructive feelings to feel as a beliver. it's something we all struggle with as a believer at some point.

but i wanna go into not just that feeling but why chasing that “on fire” feeling can lead to guilt or self-righteousness, and how we can reframe our relationship with God to grow deeper, more sustainable faith.

i share my personal experience of losing that fire, chasing emotional highs in my faith, and how God has shown me the beauty of His constancy - even in the mundane.

what i talk about:
✨ why losing your fire for God doesn’t mean losing your faith
✨ how chasing spiritual highs can lead to self-righteousness and guilt
✨ the danger of idolising the feeling of fire over worshipping God
✨ practical ways to rekindle sustainable faith
✨ the power of seeing God in the mundane

scriptures i mention:

  • 2 corinthians 12:9 – "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
  • lamentations 3:22-23 – "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning."
  • john 15:4 – "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me."
  • psalm 119:105 – "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."

why are you so comfortable not knowing your Bible?

Episode 28

samedi 11 janvier 2025Duration 53:15

we are slowly becoming a generation where a “good christian” is about attending church, singing worship songs, and being kind to others. and all of these things are good... but where is the Bible in this?

how often are we actually in the word of God? how often do we have quiet time? how often do we make time to study deeply, outside of knowing the well-known verses?

in this episode, i go into the importance of knowing scripture - not just to say you’ve read it - but to allow it to shape your life.

God challenged me to be a woman who delights in His word, and i'm learning day by day to see how scripture is the foundation for handling life’s challenges, growing in wisdom, and becoming more like Christ.

what i talk about:
✨ why we’ve become a generation that focuses on christian activities, not biblical depth
✨ how knowing your word equips you to be a better disciple, friend, partner, and more
✨ the dangers of neglecting scripture: spiritual vulnerability, stagnation, and self-righteousness
✨ practical ways to take delight in the word, not see it as a chore

scriptures i mention:

  • psalm 119:105 – "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
  • 2 timothy 3:16-17 – "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness."
  • matthew 4:4 – "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God."
  • hosea 4:6 – "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."
  • jeremiah 15:16 – "Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart."

i pray this is a convicting but loving reminder to go deeper in your relationship with God by knowing His word 💕

2025 is God's year, not yours.

Episode 27

samedi 4 janvier 2025Duration 50:05

it’s that time of year again new year, new resolutions, and endless vision boards. but as christians, are we submitting our plans to God? in this episode, i unpack the dangers of claiming “2025 is my year” without first seeking God’s will.

we talk about the pride that fuels this mindset, how the enemy deceives us with goals that aren’t in alignment with God, and why true peace and joy can only come from walking in obedience to His plans.

this episode is all about humbling ourselves, submitting to God’s sovereignty, and being obedient when He calls us to act. don’t get to the end of 2025 in the same place you are now - let God lead your year.

what i talk about:

✨ why saying “this is my year” detaches us from God’s sovereignty
✨ how pride and worldly ambition can lead to spiritual stagnation
✨ recognising when your goals aren’t in alignment with God
✨ the role of obedience in walking into God’s purpose for your life
✨ how the enemy uses distraction and deception to pull us away from God

scriptures i mention:

  • 1 corinthians 3:18-20 – "let no one deceive himself. if anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. for the wisdom of this world is folly with God."
  • proverbs 16:9 – "the heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps."
  • psalm 37:4-5 – "delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act."
  • john 10:27 – "my sheep hear my voice, and i know them, and they follow me."
  • luke 11:28 – "blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it."
  • ephesians 3:20 – "now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us."

dating should push you towards God, not away. (feat. nas)

Episode 26

samedi 28 décembre 2024Duration 52:42

dating as a christian comes with its challenges, but it’s also one of the most rewarding journeys when christ is truly at the centre. in this episode, nas and i go into what it means to date with purpose, how to honour God in your relationship, and the lessons we’ve learned along the way.

we share personal stories about balancing spiritual growth while dating, setting healthy boundaries, and navigating the cultural norms that often conflict with biblical truths.

what we talk about:
✨ why putting Christ first strengthens your relationship
✨ the importance of setting boundaries that honour God
✨ how spiritual growth impacts your relationship and future marriage

dating isn’t just about finding “the one” - it’s about glorifying God in how you love, honour, and grow with your partner. we hope this episode encourages you to reflect on your own relationships and take intentional steps towards a christ-centred love.

if you want a godly man, raise your standards.

Episode 25

samedi 21 décembre 2024Duration 01:07:33

if you’re frustrated with the men in your life, it’s time to look at your standards... AND your standards of God. because the truth is, if your view of Him is shallow, your expectations for men will be too.

what i talk about:
✨ why you can’t expect a man to lead, protect, and honour you if you don’t even know what that looks like in God’s Word
✨ the dangers of settling for “good enough” and why it always leads to frustration
✨ how godly men lead in purity, purpose, and spiritual authority - don’t settle for less
✨ why your own relationship with God sets the tone for the kind of man you’ll accept

scriptures i mention:

  • proverbs 31:10 – "an excellent wife who can find? she is far more precious than jewels."
  • 2 corinthians 6:14 – "do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers."
  • ephesians 5:25 – "husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her."
  • psalm 37:4 – "delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."
  • matthew 6:33 – "but seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness."
  • proverbs 4:23 – "keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life."

if you’re out here settling for men who don’t reflect Christ, you need to pause. your standards of a man will only rise when your intimacy with God deepens. the closer you walk with Him, the clearer you’ll see what you deserve.

how to forgive yourself when God already has.

Episode 24

samedi 14 décembre 2024Duration 49:40

so many of us believe in the power of God’s forgiveness but still hold on to shame, guilt, and condemnation.

but that's a life of bondage because we can't truly recognise the gravity of Christ’s sacrifice and the freedom we now have in Him.

what i talk about:
✨ how unforgiveness of self is a rejection of God’s sovereignty
✨ the difference between conviction and condemnation (and how the enemy uses guilt to keep us trapped)
✨ the Old Testament vs. the new covenant of grace through Jesus
✨ why forgiving yourself isn’t about dismissing sin, but about surrendering it to God
✨ practical steps to release shame and walk in freedom

God’s forgiveness is final, sufficient, and complete. i pray this episode encourages you to embrace His grace fully and let go of the weight you’ve been carrying 💕

scriptures i mention:

  • romans 8:1 – "there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
  • isaiah 43:18-19 – "remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?"
  • psalm 103:12 – "as far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us."
  • 2 corinthians 5:17 – "therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. the old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
  • hebrews 10:14 – "for by a single offering He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified."
  • isaiah 53:5 – "but He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed."
  • 1 john 1:9 – "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
  • ephesians 1:7 – "in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace."
  • galatians 5:1 – "for freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery."
  • joel 2:25-26 – "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten."

your main character syndrome is at war with God.

Episode 23

samedi 7 décembre 2024Duration 48:08

main character syndrome... we’ve all been there.

the world tells us to put ourselves first, chase our truth, and make everything about us. but let’s be real: when we make ourselves the centre of the universe, we’re at war with God.

in this episode, i get real about how self-glorification (aka main character syndrome) directly opposes God’s purpose for our lives. i unpack why striving for control, validation, and self-exaltation doesn’t lead to freedom but to bondage.

what i talk about:
✨ what main character syndrome is and how it wars against God’s authority
✨ why putting yourself above God leads to spiritual emptiness
✨ the dangers of pride and self-glorification (spoiler: it never ends well)
✨ how to let go of control, surrender daily, and trust God fully
✨ the freedom, peace, and joy that come from living a life centred on Christ

scriptures i mention:

  • john 3:30 – "He must become greater; i must become less."
  • matthew 6:33 – "but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
  • proverbs 16:18 – "pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall."
  • luke 9:23 – "if anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."
  • philippians 2:3-4 – "do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."

you will never have faith without relationship.

Episode 22

vendredi 29 novembre 2024Duration 48:31

faith without relationship? it doesn’t work.

today i'm talking about why true faith is rooted in a deep relationship with God and not in striving for spiritual achievements or trying to “will” ourselves into faith.

what i talk about:

  • why faith begins with knowing who God is, not striving to believe harder
  • how our relationship with God transforms our trust in Him
  • the importance of going back to the basics of the Gospel to build solid faith
  • how reading and reflecting on the Word helps us understand God’s character

i also am open and honest about my personal journey of learning to trust God in difficult seasons.

faith isn’t something we conjure up... it grows from spending time with the One who is faithful. when you stop striving and start trusting, you’ll discover the boldness, confidence, and peace that comes from truly knowing God.

i pray this episode encourages you to lean into your relationship with God, reflect on His Word, and let Him grow your faith 💕
