We're back after an extended summer break. We're on the trail to the lesser known "Super Towns on the Superstation" special on TBS in February of 87. This week we focus on the tag titles (World and US Belts) and the arrival of Barry Windham. January 3, 1987 was a special day of wrestling as World Wide delivers one of the best hours of televised wrestling ever. My favourite wrestling song debuts and we get an 8-man tag for the ages. The WWF was expanding their super-card menu and waging a war on Jim Crockett Promotions at the same time. In 1987 a wrestling fan couldn't have been more excited by the arrival of this new fantasy elimination match classic. We cover the 4 massive matches on the card, take a quick look at Gorilla Monsoon's career, the return of the mailbag and end the show with a super fun "What If" segment where we build an extra Survivor Series Elimination match with the wrestlers under contract at the time who don't compete on the show. We're breaking our own rules of covering a PPV but it was worth it!

It's the wrap up of Starrcade 86 and we have 4 big matches. Dusty and Tully bring comedy gold in the form of JJ Dillon in their first blood match for the World TV Title, the namesake of the show is on display as the Road Warriors and Midnight Express climb those scaffolds and bring us the less than stellar Night of the Skywalkers match. The Rock 'n Roll Express and Andersons bring their long boiling feud to a conclusion in a steel cage for the World Tag Team Titles. Lastly the Nature Boy walks that aisle to defend his NWA World Heavyweight championship against the Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff. We have a little belated talk about WM 40 and wrap things up with a bonus match from Japan as the Road Warriors and Funk Brothers lock it up over seas.

Greensboro and Atlanta co-host the granddaddy of them all Starrcade! JCP rides the wave of its most successful summer and tragic fall into a showdown between Flair and the Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff. But before we get to the main event matches we focus on the first 8 matches on the card including a Louisville Street Fight between Ron Garvin & Big Bubba and the feud between the Boogie Woogie Man and Paul Jones finally comes to a head. We discover some of the matches left off the original VHS release and feel the pain from all of the badly dubbed music.

It's an iconic night as we see the birth of the Mega Powers, as wrestling's biggest stars of the 80's join forces. No Jesse... no problem we get Bobby the Brain Heenan. Savage looks to regain his IC belt but Jimmy Hart's crew has other thoughts. Hogan defends his own belt against the Savage Samoan Sika & Mr Wonderful takes on the man mountain... King Kong Bundy. We have a laugh at the debut of the "Piledriver Video" and do some after the fact chatting about Sting's last match. If you were an 80's wrestling fan then this is a can't miss show!

It's the Fall of 1987 and the winds of change are upon the WWF. We focus on Randy Savage's journey to a top babyface before the handshake that changed the wrestling landscape. Some fun matchups include Davey Boy vs Hercules, Beefcake vs Rude for the first time and the Honky Tonk Man gets more than he bargained for when he faces a substitute for Jake. We're off to Houston for a unique WWF event, the Paul Boesch Retirement Show. We dig into the unique history of the territory. The evening includes a big Hogan title defense against the One Man Gang. Tito Santana teams up with Mil Mascaras to take on Demolition and Ted DiBiase and Jim Duggan tussle in a Mid South/UWF reunion. The commentary team is bizzare and leads us to discuss one of Jim Ross's funniest stories from his days as Leroy McGuirk's right hand man.
