Unearthed Archives (2016–2020) is a curated reissue of key moments from the early years of Lay Down The Groove — a retrospective compilation revisiting some of the standout tracks that helped define the label’s first chapter. Drawn from our catalog between 2016 and 2020, these five tracks have been carefully selected to reflect the spirit of that era: raw, exploratory, and deeply connected to the underground scenes across South America. LDG011 — Lay Down The Groove — ChordPlay Lay Down The Groove returns with their first release in four years — and it marks a milestone. ChordPlay is the debut full-length album by the label heads, following their 2021 EP Pursuit of Sound. Spanning seven tracks, the album captures a period of personal and artistic growth for the duo. Written and recorded across multiple studios and seasons over the past years, it flows effortlessly through tempos and moods while staying rooted in the pair’s emotive, synth-forward identity. With a shift toward higher BPMs and more club-oriented energy — without losing the warmth and musicality that define the LDG sound — ChordPlay signals a new chapter in the Lay Down The Groove story. Influenced by the rich legacies of Detroit and Chicago, the record features hardware-driven textures shaped by the Juno 6, SH-101, Prophet 8, Analog Rytm and MicroKorg. Rooted in rhythm and feeling, ChordPlay captures Lay Down The Groove in evolution — looking forward while honouring their foundations. First solo release from the label owners (Juan and Mateo) under Lay Down The Groove moniker. Pursuit Of Sound is the result of their musical influences throughout these years of producing and playing music. This 5-track EP can hardly be classified within only one genre, but as a diverse vinyl suitable for different times and seasons. Many of the music-wise elements were recorded with a Juno 60, and the whole record itself manifests the importance of this machine in its identity and creative processes. Lay Down The Groove is honoured to present its 4th record, named “Down Under”, which is the first of the new Split Series. This time, the label keeps focusing on the blooming Latin American scene and keeps working with close friends. On side A, LDG owners open the record with “We were one”, an electro piece that combines a sticky synth with melancholic arpeggios and deep pads. Following "Aloof from it”, a dancefloor-oriented banger, characterised by strong chords and breaks. Both tracks were recorded in Bogota, Colombia between late 2017 and along 2018, and mixed in Melbourne, Australia in 2019. On side B, the Argentinian Dj Braver delivers "Pick Phunk”, a deep track with a funky bassline that fits perfectly with the chords that pop from left to right creating an amazing and hypnotic groove. Closing the record, the Colombian artist Junn, who was part of our last digital release, presents “Apura”, a blend of solid beats and synths that turns into glitch sounds through the track from beginning to end. We welcome this new year with our first digital compilation, Southern Boundaries. This is a five-track EP composed by a fine music selection from Argentinian and Colombian artists, some of them new to Lay Down The Groove. Opening the release, Nicholls, a talented artist from Bogota, debuts on the label with “Toroidal”, a deep and powerful track full of ambience and sweet pads. Next, we have “Rabbit in the Moon” by Dj Braver and “Front Steps” by Gabriel Ferreira, our old friends from Buenos Aires who have printed their own personality in each track, influenced by acid and house. Following we introduce Eugenio, a well-known name in the local scene from Bogota, who has an ample range of style thanks to his productions with different alter egos through his career. This time, Eugenio delivers “Per Aspera Ad Astra”, a beautiful track with dub and acid nuances. Closing this compilation, we are proud to showcase Junn for the first time in Lay Down The Groove with “Matcha”, a powerful track with analogue touches inclined on breakbeats. This young artist from Bogota, founder of Gabber House Music, shows clearly his own identity with this amazing piece.

Lay Down The Groove are happy to present "Alter View Of Basics". Our third vinyl release where we focus on show the new way we see musical and visual concepts for the label. This time we are honored to collaborate with Click Box, who debuts on the label with a powerful opening track, amazing percussion and dubby chords. Then Max (Italy), who also debuts on the label, delivers "Brain" with a very analog sound and a woozy bassline. On the B side, Juan Rodriguez and Mateo Torres appear once again introducing "Know How", with a sweet melody and inquisitive pads through the track. Finally, "Deli" by the well-known Javier Ferreira (Ninefont) closes the release with an hypnotic groove and big ambience, ideal for late nights.
