Los Lonely Boys’ JoJo Garza joins the show to dive into Resurrection, the band’s first album in a decade.

The bassist retraces the band's steps over the past 11 years, from taking a hiatus prior to 2020, to returning to the stage after The Who asked them to open a line of shows. Garza also discusses picking up the producer reigns for the first time on Resurrection.

Elsewhere, he gives us the backstory on the darkness of closing track “Blood Water” and reveals that lead single “Wish You Would" is an outright tribute to The Beatles. Resurrection arrives on the 20th anniversary of Los Lonely Boys' breakthrough debut album and their classic single “Heaven,” so Garza explores how they'll go about working old and new songs into the setlist for their upcoming tour (get tickets here).

Paul Feig joins Kyle Meredith to talk about Jackpot!, his new movie starring John Cena and Awkwafina (watch it now on Amazon Prime). Listen now.

Set in the near future, Jackpot! follows a new California lottery that has one strange rule: if you're able to kill the winner, you legally claim their prize. The director launches into the comedy and tension inherent to such a concept before telling stories from production.

Feig then chats about finding his lane in action comedy, how far they were able to take the premise without crossing any lines, and how he convinced John Cena to sing "Turtle Power" from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. He also touches on Machine Gun Kelly's many talents, as well as his upcoming sequel to A Simple Favor.

Nick Robinson and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo join Kyle Meredith to talk about the new Millie Bobby Brown-fronted Netflix film, Damsel. Listen to the new episode above, or wherever you get your podcasts.

The film tells the story of a dutiful damsel (Brown) who agrees to marry a handsome prince (Robinson), only to find that the royal family has actually recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. Fresnadillo, the film's director, talks of flipping traditional fairytale storytelling upside down, working with the actors, and pulling off nearly half-hour-long shots of Brown. He also touches on how getting Lykke Li to cover Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" elevated the film to a new level.

For his part, Robinson talks about his love for playing darker characters, as they challenge him to go in-depth into their motivations. He also talks of working with legendary actors like Robin Wright and what he learned from being on the set of History of the World Pt. II.
