Igor Shyshko bezet een doos, in een queeste naar begrip voor de wereld waarin we leven en de ruimte voor beweging en actieradius die ons nog rest. Bij choreografie draait alles rond tijd en ruimte, en de beperkingen die het lichaam toelaten om op een bepaalde manier – en niet op een andere –  te bewegen. The Box brengt door zijn extreme beperkingen een soort ‘natuurlijke’ choreografie op gang: de strijd van het lichaam om comfort te vinden in een uitermate gelimiteerde ruimte, binnen een tijdsframe van 12 uur.

In collaboration with FITAM, the international festival by Santiago A Mil, we are launching the ‘radioteatro’ Mañana es otro pais – a real audio book, which thousands of children and adults in Chile will listen to. It is suitable for children from 8 years onwards.

The Spanish version is performed by Chilean actress Maria-José Parga.
The Dutch-language version of the audio book, voiced by Dutch star actress Angela Schijf.

The gorgeous sound design was created by sound artist Charo Calvo.

Dat is verschrikkelijk snel. Sneller dan Messi kan rennen en sterren kunnen vallen. Sneller dan het licht. Zo snel dat we nauwelijks de tijd hadden om afscheid te nemen.

Een meisje en haar moeder stappen in de donkere laadbak van een vrachtwagen, voor een lange, onzekere rit. Het lijkt wel een ruimtecapsule op weg naar een onbekende planeet. Ze moeten er heel stil zijn. Gelukkig is het meisje wereldkampioen in stil zijn.

In this episode of KVS en Route we introduce to you: ICE, a new solo project by choreographer and dancer Bahar Temiz. ICE is choreographed for a body and a bunch of ropes. In this podcast Bahar tells us about her fascination for ropes and how polar explorers and their expeditions to Antarctica at the beginning of the 20th century came to intrigue her.

Exploring the future, in relation to past and present

For this third part of the Coloured Swans series, choreographer Moya Michael works with four young multidisciplinary artists with mixed backgrounds from the African diaspora: Loucka Fiagan, Oscar Cassamajor, Milo Slayers and Zen Jefferson. In this podcast the four of them discuss mixed heritage, their stances on Black Lives Matter and what Afrofuturism means to them: issues that are closely entertwined with Coloured Swan: Harriet’s reMix.
