We find out confidence in Jesus, friend! But here are some tools to help you grow in this area! 

1. Check in with yourself every morning! How are you feeling, what do you need to thrive and not just survive the day?

2. Do your daily gratitude- Benefits of gratitude- scientific- boost immune system, reduces stress, anxiety and depression, improves sleep, improves self esteem and the list goes on…. Spiritually- helps us appreciate what we have instead of longing for more(gets rid of comparison real quick!),helps develop the fruits of the spirit, stronger relationships and deeper faith.The bible talks about giving thanks over and over- look up these scriptures- 1 thess 5:16-18, 1 chronicles 16:34, Colossians 3:17

3. No comparison- so easy to do this when you see beautiful moms all over the internet doing all teh things and you can barely get dinner on the table everyday because you are exhausted from just keeping your little people alive haha But if we really think about what comparison truly is, it’s a form of jealousy. Galatians 5:16-21

4. No negative/intrusive thoughts allowed- capture those thoughts, bring them to Jesus and declare the good ness of God over your life!

I think that sometimes we can lose our focus or purpose because we are easily distracted. Seems like such a simple thing but we get trapped in distractions all day and then can feel lost throughout our day. Or maybe that’s just me. It’s funny actually…this week’s podcast is about distraction and it has taken me FOREVER to write this out because I kept getting distracted and not staying focused on the task at hand…ie finishing writing the podcast! Haha Funny how that works. Anyway, I want to give you a few tips and tricks to help you overcome distractions so you can live the abundant life God has for you!

What IS a distraction? Television, movies, books…they all provide an escape from our daily lives. There is nothing that says we cannot provide ourselves a little break from reality by being entertained, but when that entertainment gets in the way of our faith, it becomes a spiritual distraction. We need to prioritize what's most important.

Distraction =Anything that pulls our attention from God.

1. Eliminate Distractions: Identify and remove sources of distraction.
   • Scripture: "Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you." - Proverbs 4:25
   • Keep your eyes fixed on the Lord!! Last week we talked about staying in your lane! Don’t look to the left or right…keep your eyes on Jesus!
   • Avoid Temptation: Steer clear of situations that lead to distraction.
     1. Scripture: "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." - Matthew 26:41

2. Seek God’s Guidance: Regularly seek God's wisdom and direction for your life.

1. Scripture: "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." - James 1:5
2.  Prayer: Regular prayer helps keep us focused on our relationship with God.
   • Scripture: "Pray without ceasing." - 1 Thessalonians 5:17

3. Set Realistic Goals: Break down larger goals into smaller, manageable tasks.

1. Scripture: "The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty." - Proverbs 21:5
2. Set Spiritual Goals: Having clear spiritual objectives can help maintain focus.
3. Scripture: "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:14

Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. For out of the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings out evil things out of the evil store up in him.

What goes in will eventually come out.

The fruit produced in us reflects who we are or how connected we are to God.

Lord let us be connected to you in such a way that life giving fruit comes out of us!!

Relationships can be hard. We Need them but we also have to put up boundaries with them as well. Our inner circle needs to be a safe place for us with similar beliefs.

So I just have two things for you today that can help you in the area of relationships. Help you to build some boundaries so that you can thrive! 

1. Say NO- Saying no is ok. Setting up boundaries in your life is GOOD.2
2. Pray for Discernment or use discernment-

Matthew 5:43-48
You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy' But I tell you , love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore as your Father is perfect.


Notes in my bible- vs 49- The emphasis in the command to be perfect is not one flawless moral nature but on an all-inclusive love that seeks the good of all. Instead of following the example of sinners who love only those who love them, we are to be like the Father in also loving those who do not love us.


It's easy to love those how love us but hard to love those that are difficult! But God is calling us to do hard things. To go against the flow, to do the opposite of the world and walk in HIS great love.

Love is a choice and can't be based on our circumstances!

Hurt people hurt people BUT healed people can also heal people through Jesus!! Loved people can love people! You get the picture right??

Quote from the google- Morning routines are like a super power. The few who take advantage of them will rise in their professional, personal, and spiritual lives. Because focus is a precious commodity, and mornings are one of the few occasions in our day where most of us actually have control over how we spend our time.

Ps 5:3

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. 

TPT- At each and every sunrise you will hear my voice as I prepare my sacrifice of prayer to you. Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on the altar and wait for your fire to fall upon my heart. 

Ps 143:8- Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should god, for to you I entrust my life. 

Mark 1:35- Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. 

• Obviously this is easy for some than others. Those of us without kids we won’t feel as exhausted when it comes to getting less sleep than we already have had to begin with haha I’m speaking only about the toddlers and under stage. If you are in the teen stage and not getting sleep that is on YOU. Time for you to reflect and see what habits you can change so that you can get enough sleep to get up on time for Jesus moments! 
• Even JESUS needed to get up and spend time with His father! How much more do WE need it friend???

Ps 119:147- I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word.

Matthew 18:10-14
See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the o that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

Jesus is calling you back to his flock! He never leaves you or forsakes you. He loves you as His own! Remember that friend!

Have you ever compared your life to others? Or wished you could be some place else? Some place that seemed better? Imagining your life in the greener grass? And then when you actually switched into a new place, a new house, new car, more kids, got married, whatever….you realized none of that makes you truly happy?

Encouragement for you today!


1) Enjoy the moment/stage of life/season you are in- Enjoy the now! 

1. Matthew 6:34- Therefore do not worry about tomorrow , for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
2. Don’t worry about what is coming and don’t strive to have better. Just appreciate what is right in front of you! 
3. Which of course brings me to Gratitude. Do you have a gratitude journal? IF not it’s TIME my friend. Start with 5 things for the day and move to 10! You will be surprised how quickly your perspective changes!! When we think on the things God HAS given us instead of things we wished we had…it changes our outlook and how we look at our lives. When we change our view on our own world don’t you think that will spill into our kids, husbands, friends, family, all our circle of influence? I’m here to tell you that it will! Try it and let me know how it goes in the FB group or on any of the socials! I’d love to hear from you!! 

2) STOP the comparison!!

1. Gal. 1:10- For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
2. This is an honest scripture with a really good question. When we are comparing our lives to others, are we seeking God’s approval or others? Something to really think about!! This is another way to shift our view on this subject. So next time you are on your fav social platform and you start to wish you were somewhere else or with someone else or had something better….think on this. Are you trying to win approval of God or man? Just gonna leave that there :) 

3)Just keep your eyes on Jesus friend

1. Hebrews 12:And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I dod not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

But ver truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.  I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.

We have a guide and advocate here on earth...the Holy Spirit! So powerful and awesome to know He is here with us!!

Even when we feel insignificant, God sees everything!

He loves you- the good, the bad, the ugly! He created you and calls you His child!

We have to trust that God is good and has good plans for us!
He doesn't have a perfect life for us BUT he has hope, love and joy that is unexplainable!
He has purpose for us even in what seems insignificant.

Are you trusting God with your every day? Are you giving him all the small parts of your day? Trusting that HE will give you all you need?

Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or sping. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothes you- you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and yoru Father knows that you need them.
But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

Ok I know you are hearing and seeing all kinds of posts about ‘new start new year new goals new you…etc. And to be honest I have been excited for the new year. Something about starting over and having a fresh start sounds amazing. And there was nothing crazy bad about 2022. There were ALOT of things going on BUT also ALOT of amazing family time and growth! BUT it’s nice to know there is sort of a reset coming that can bring me back and help me focus. Especially after the Christmas season where we over indulge and tend to get lazy etc. (or maybe that is just me?? lol)

And today I want to encourage you in the fresh start of 2023. Not to tell you that you should make these lofty goals of reading 5 chapters of the Bible a day, feed the homeless in your neighborhood, start making super healthy meals for your family every night, read more, shop less, serve at your church every week, etc etc etc. No I’m here to remind you of things that are new BECAUSE of Jesus. We can’t work or earn or change routines to get the newness that comes from just being with Him. 

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

—2 Corinthians 5:17

1. A Fresh start bring new beginnings which come from God!
2. A Fresh start brings new perspectives and direction
3. A Fresh start brings new gratitude and praise

I think we have all had fear in our lives one way or another. Whether we were really afraid of something like spiders or snakes OR we were afraid of rejection…fear is a real thing. The cool thing is, is that we can be FULLY free from fear because fear is a tactic of the devil and we are more powerful than him when we tap into the amazing power of Jesus! 

1. Realize fear separates you from God

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear… The one who fears is not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18). 

God is love and there is no fear in love. So in other words…you can’t live in fear AND in God’s love. They contradict each other. Taht doesn’t mean God doesn’t love you BUT when you choose to walk in fear you choose to step out of God’s loving covering cause they can’t coexist!

2. Realign your focus- Shift your focus from your fear to JESUS!

Hebrews 12:2- And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

3. Read Scripture aloud! And speak life over yourself.


You do not have to be ruled or controlled by fear anymore, friend!! There is freedom in Jesus!!

What is spiritual discipline?- love this explanation I found on the google- 

Spiritual disciplines are practices that by design can lead to life transformation. Their purpose is to aid our spiritual growth as disciples of Christ and deepen our relationship with God. They are like training exercises for the spiritual life.

1. Spiritual Disciplines take a change in your mindset
2. Discipline thrives with accountability
   1. Found this Stat for you on having an accountability partner: Your performance will improve: When people know they are being held accountable by others for their actions, they will work harder. Research shows that when someone publicly shares their goals, they have around a 65% chance of success. However, having a specific accountability partner boosts that chance to 95%

Ultimately Spiritual discipline is a DECISION-  to implement good discipline in your life you have to choose to make changes for growth to happen!

Close with this verse- That this would be the cry of our hearts as it was David’s 

Psalm 119:1-7- Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. Blessed are those who keep His statues and seek him with all their heart-they do now wrong but follow His ways. You have laid down precept that are to be fully obeyed. Ephesians 2:4

1. STOP- just stop. Slow down. Enjoy the moments that are right in front of you. Stop comparing your life to others. Take time to be grateful for what YOU have!! Stop the hustle and bustle and busy. Bring all that to a halt and look at what is right in front of you. Stop scrolling and sit with your kids at a board game. Or have them help you make dinner, eat all together and have conversation and laughter fill your home. These small choices will help you to enjoy the little things and not stress about stuff that doesn’t matter.

1. 1 John 2:15-17- Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life- comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. 

    2. Say no- you don’t have to be at all the things- you don’t have to buy all the things. You don’t have to invite everyone over for all the things. Lol i give you permission to say no and just do the things you actually enjoy doing.

3. Find a way for your family to serve somewhere- church, local community outreach, their school- change your perspective by giving instead of focusing on the receiving.

1) Trust them but don’t. I mean let them earn your trust BUT also be smart and keep boundaries set in place so they don’t fail. We as their mamas want to set them up for success! If we put them in potential situations that could hinder their walk with the Lord OR give them a chance to fail then we are doing them a disservice.

Matthew 6:22- The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.

2)COMMUNICATION- It is SO important to talk with your kids. They don't need to know everything BUT talk with them about all the things they want to talk about. Make sure they know they can ask you things and tell you things WITHOUT judgement or condemnation.

3) Let go of expectations- this goes back to lots of conversations about comparison.
4) PRAY PRAY PRAY!!

Definition of Self Control- the ability to control oneself, in particular one's emotions and desires or the expression of them in one's behavior, especially in difficult situations.

Through he Holy Spirit we have power over our fleshly desires. A person with self control maintains a lift of moderation and control. Other words that translate here are restraint, moderation, discipline, balance, temperance

You can see how opposite temperance or self control is to the works of the flesh. If the flesh is allowed to have its way , it will over worry, overwork, overeat, overindulge, and literally run itself to death. But when a person is controlled by the Holy Spirit, God’s spirit produces in him a discipline over the physical realm that helps her sustain her physical condition, stay in good health, remain free from sin and live a life that is moderate and balanced.

Proverbs 25:28- like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self control

2 Peter 1:5-8

For this very reason make every effort to add to your faith goodness, and to goodness, knowledge;and to knowledge, self control and to self control perseverance;, godliness; and the godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Are you feeling like the pressures of this world are keeping you from finding peace in Jesus? I know that this life is diffituclt and this world is CRAZY…sometimes it feels like we are literally upside down, backwards and inside out. The things that are becoming ‘normal’ are SO far against what God is calling us to we can get lost in a state of confusion. Not knowing what to believe or how to live the life that God is calling us to! So let’s dive a little into a few ways to combat this confusion. 

This is PART 2!!!

1) Let go of other people's expectations
                    Galatians 1:10- Am i now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

2) Learn to trust in God!
                Jeremiah 17:7-8- But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. they will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. 

3)Listen
           Proverbs 17:28- even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.
           James 1:19- My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak…
         2 corinthians 1:3-praise be to the God and Father of our Lord jesus christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

So what is meekness? The word meekness comes from the Greek word prautes, which depicts the attitude or demeanor of a person who is forbearing, patient, and slow to respond in anger; one who remains in control of herself in the face of insults or injuries. In the Greek language, the word conveys the idea of a high and noble ideal to be aspired to in one's life. Although, an injurious situation may normally produce a rash or angry outburst, a meek person is controlled by kindness, gentleness, mildness, or even friendliness.

Remember the Fruit of the Spirit is produced when we are connected to Jesus and submitting our lives to the Holy Spirit! When we surrender to Him, He can produce the fruit in and through us!

You have to get rid of the I am statements

Beliefs that we attach ourselves to that can cause low self esteem because they CANNOT fill the need we have in our hearts! So we need to STOP these beliefs if we want to have the confidence in ourselves and who God created us to be! 

1. I am what I possess- reminder- this is not our home. And everything we have belongs to God. So no more being defined by our things. 

2. I am my accomplishments- I’ve talked about this as well. I went through many seasons of feeling like I had to be accomplished..i still fight this inclination from time to time. Of putting my worth in what I do. How I perform. What I’ve accomplished. Now of course I”m striving for excellence in all I do.  I’m going to do my best to steward this life that God has given me well! I just have to keep my eyes on Him so that my value and significance comes from being His daughter and nothing else. Make sense?

3. I am what other people say- This could go along with the accomplishments. I am a words person. Have you read the love languages book or do you know what your love language is? Well mine are words of affirmation and quality time(almost tied) so what people think matters to me. Now I”m not necessarily a people pleaser but I’d much rather have people happy with me than not! Haha And when people give me compliments it goes a LONG way and on the opposite, when people critize me it takes root and can cause deep wounds if I don’t quickly surrender it to Jesus and understand that my worth doesn’t come from others!

4. I am what I look like-Ekk this is a hard one for us women because we want to be pretty and it’s been instilled in us since we were young that what we look like matters.  I believe we should want to bring God our excellence in all areas of our lives. We should take pride in how we look because ultimately we represent God, our family and ourselves! However, this shouldn’t be what we put our value and worth in! God looks at the heart and the most beautiful person is someone who cares for others, loves God with their whole heart and loves and supports their family well. It’s obviously a healthy balance right? Find spaces to bring your girly prettiness to the world but also your inside beauty is what counts. How you treat others, how you serve others and your family, how you love God and honor Him first. THIS is what matters.

1. Stay consistent in your word and focused on Jesus!
     -1 Corinthians 14:33- For God is not the author of confusion but of peace.

2. Surrender fear, anxiety and guilt- lay it down at the feet of Jesus
      - James 4:7 says ‘Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you
     
3. SLOW down and STOP believing the world’s lie that you should be doing more
       - -“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28–30)
