#259 Pat Flynn - 15 Years of Online Business Advice in 65 Mins01 Jan 202501:04:44

Watch This NEXT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlK2P76_ZZs

Not many people know this, but Pat Flynn is the reason I started my podcast.

Back in 2020, I was broke, clueless, and desperate for a way out, I bought a $60 microphone.

That mic? It came from an affiliate link on Pat Flynn’s website.

I binged watched every piece of content Pat had:

  • How to start a podcast
  • The best mics and software
  • Editing tools I’d never used before

Fast forward to 2025, and I just recorded episode 258 of my podcast—with Pat Flynn himself.

In this episode, Pat shares the lessons, failures, and surprises from 15 years of building online businesses—including generating over $10M in revenue.

We talk about:

  • How he built and grew Deep Pocket Monster to 1M subscribers
  • The importance of emotional connection in your content
  • Why small, vibrant communities are the future of business
  • The reality of staying relevant in a changing landscape

Is it blind luck? Or the compounding effect of 15 years in the game?

Pat breaks it all down.

If you’re building a content business or just starting out, this is an episode you can’t miss.

#258 I Discovered the Best Business to Start in 202529 Dec 202400:14:29

Watch This NEXT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlK2P76_ZZs

I’ve discovered the best business to start in 2025.

It’s not rug-pulling meme coins. It’s not the latest AI tool. It’s not dropshipping

It’s building a business around content.

Creators like Alex Hormozi, Steven Bartlett, and Ali Abdaal have built empires by doing one thing exceptionally well.

Owning their voice.
In 2025, attention isn’t enough. Algorithms change, going “Viral” isn’t a strategy—it’s a gamble, ads stop working the moment you stop paying.

The game is trust.

Podcasts, YouTube, and long-form content are your greatest points of leverage because they:
- Build deep, parasocial relationships
- Convert trust into long-term revenue
- Establish you as the authority in your niche

In this video, I break down:
- Why content businesses will dominate 2025
- How to start with no audience or budget
- The exact system I used to go from $10K in debt to running Voics

2025 is the year to stop chasing trends.

Own your voice. Build leverage.

#140 Jax Davey – Building The World’s Most Purpose Driven Business19 Mar 202301:01:27

Jax Davey is a Forbes 30 under 30 honouree, an award-winning entrepreneur and the CEO of creative agency Nuevo, whose clients include Canada Goose, Ordnance Survey and Ernst & Young. But it was Jax’s first major collaborator, the British military, that explains his unconventional entrance into the creative industry and his pioneering approach to advertising and sustainability.

During his five years spent as a Royal Marines Commando, he had the chance to pick up a camera for the first time. This newfound need to create and his unique capacity to access hard to reach locations fuelled Jax to found The Rolling Rogues, where his team delivered specialist projects for the military alongside advertisements for global brands like Garmin. When Jax was 25, the agency was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway, the US conglomerate led by Warren Buffett.

Despite this success, Jax couldn’t ignore the impact his industry was having on the planet. Nuevo was founded in 2020, where sustainability has been the driving force behind every decision from day one. Three years later, and with investment from Steven Barlett, Jax has assembled a team of world record holding explorers, strategists, sustainability experts, producers and creatives, who together are redefining creativity with a conscience.

#134 Dr Cassie Holmes – Maximise Your Time & Happiness15 Feb 202301:01:43

Cassie Holmes is a professor at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management and an award-winning teacher and researcher of time and happiness. She earned her PhD at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and her BA at Columbia as a psychology major. Cassie’s research has been widely published in lead academic journals and featured in such outlets as NPR, the Economist, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic, and the Washington Post.

‘Happier Hour: How to Beat Distraction, Expand Your Time, and Focus on What Matters Most’ is her first book. Our most precious resource isn’t money. It’s time. Everyone is allotted just twenty-four hours a day, and we live in a culture that keeps us feeling “time poor.” Since we can’t add more hours to the day, how can we experience our lives as richer?

Based on her wildly popular MBA class at UCLA, Professor Cassie Holmes shows how to improve our lives by changing how we perceive and invest our time. Our podcast provides empirically based insights and easy-to-implement tools that will allow you to spend your hours and feel confident in those choices, sidestep distractions, create and savour moments of joy, design your schedule with purpose and look back on your years without regrets.

#131 Matt Kelly – The Path to a Multimillion Dollar Brand04 Feb 202301:11:43

Matt Kelly is a designer and entrepreneur, founder of Space Goods and host of the Midnight Pod

He was the founder of a group of 6-7 figure online DTC websites and brands. The brands focused on drop-shipping, which allowed him to start with £50 while working in a burger bar at university. His last ever formal ‘job’. He scaled this up to a few million in revenue while travelling the world full time between 2017 and 2019.

After that, he founded Midnight City, the jewellery brand. He saw an opportunity in the UK market and built the brand from scratch to over £5m in combined revenue in 2.5 years. He exited the business in 2021.

In 2021, he founded Neon Beach, a LED neon brand. Matt created the brand to solve his own consumer problem. In only one year, grew to over £7m in revenue from a laptop with a remote team of 40+ designers overseas. He ran into crippling supply chain problems in early 2021.

Now, he's back building Space Goods, the next generation wellness brand.

#126 Roei Samuel – Fundamentals of Founders Success04 Jan 202301:02:36

Roei Samuel has founded two companies, RealSport and Connectd. RealSport grew to a community of over 8 million monthly unique users across the UK, USA, & Australia. After RealSport was acquired in 2018, Roei moved into the investment space. This connected him to an entirely new community, but many of the frustrations he felt as a founder were also true as an investor and start-up advisor. There was a distinct lack of diversity and accessibility in investment opportunities for start-ups. All the same deals were going to the same group of investors, stifling innovation for both the founders and potential investors. Connectd disrupts this cycle.
