Attorneys are fleeing Donald Trump's Department of Justice at alarming rates. It's not just a brain drain but an ethics drain as well. Another day, another vindictive prosecution by Donald Trump and his corrupt DOJ leadership. This time, they're going after a Republican former White House aide, Cassidy Hutchinson, for testimony she gave to Congress that was unflattering of Trump.

This vindictive prosecution of Hutchinson will fail, just like the vindictive prosecution of James Comey failed. It was dismissed. It was thrown out. Of course, they're trying again with the great seashell caper case. That one will fail too.

The vindictive prosecution of Leticia James failed, dismissed, thrown out.

The attempted vindictive prosecution of Jerome Powell? That one never even got out of the grand jury because the judge threw out the grand jury subpoenas for being issued for an improper purpose.

The attempted vindictive prosecution of six members of Congress, who basically did nothing more than cut a public service announcement video accurately stating military law: that military members must disobey unlawful orders. That one was laughed out of the grand jury.

How about the prosecution of the sandwich thrower, Sean Dunn. Trump's DOJ couldn't get a felony indictment of Dunn AND couldn't even convict him in a misdemeanor trial.

AND, how about the reflecting pool guy, David Hearn. That one was thrown out of court by the Judge. And on and on and on.

It seems like the safest place to be if you never want to be convicted of a crime, is on Donald Trump's enemies list.

Todd Blanche filed an ethics complaint against 7 federal judges in Minnesota. First of all, this is performative nonsense, and reminiscent of when the DOJ sued 15 federal judges in Maryland, only to have the lawsuit promptly thrown out.

Donald Trump gave two no-bid contracts to his cronies, which is why the reflecting pool renovation failed spectacularly!

To cover up the true reason for the renovation failure, Trump pressured DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro to prosecute somebody, anybody, for the damage to the reflecting pool liner.

Caving to dear leader's demands, Pirro indicted an innocent, 67 year-old former Olympic athlete, David Hearn. However, a judge dismissed the case agasint Hearn.

In a new development, the judge held a hearing to determine if he should prohibit the Department of Justice from ever re-brining the criminal case against Hearn by dismissing the case "with prejudice."

During the hearing, the judge said to the prosecutor, "The president of the United States is pressuring your office . . . to recharge Mr. Hearn (on) what you have decided is meritless.”

You don't need to be a lawyer or a judge or even familiar with the code of ethics that governs lawyers and judges to know that judges are supposed to be independent and impartial. Judges can't be partisans, especially not political partisans. Especially in this day and age when the Republican Party and the Democratic Party are in court fighting one another - all day every day. But, of course, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has blow through those ethical rules and prohibitions.

One of the main reasons that the Democrats need to take back the House come the midterms is so they can launch the long-overdue impeachment inquiries into these corrupt Justices.

The Supreme Court rejected a request from Donald Trump to reconsider its previous refusal to hear his appeal of a $5 million sexual abuse and defamation verdict won by writer E. Jean Carroll, finalizing the payout.

The $5 Million Verdict: The high court officially turned away Trump's petition for a rehearing, keeping the 2023 jury finding and judgment fully intact. Trump previously turned over the $5 million plus interest.

The Separate $83 Million Appeal: Trump has a separate pending appeal at the Supreme Court seeking to overturn a larger $83.3 million defamation verdict awarded to Carroll, which involves presidential immunity questions and is not expected to be acted upon by justices until after the fall recess.

The DC circuit court of appeals ruled that Donald Trump must stop constructing his vanity ballroom on the White House grounds, ruling that his conduct was unconstitutional. They ruled that way because only Congress can spend money to construct a government building. And it wasn't only the court of appeals that ruled against Trump - the court of appeals was affirming the trial court judge's ruling that Donald Trump's conduct is unconstitutional and it must stop.

But now, another one of Trump's former criminal defense attorneys - Solicitor General John Sauer - is asking the Supreme Court to allow Donald Trump's unconstitutional conduct to continue. Glenn explains why John Sauer's argument is a bunch of nonsense.
