In this episode I’m joined by Dr. Rick Diamond, an expert in the intersection of storytelling and healing, We explore our journeys from being deeply involved in organized religion to embracing a more personal and fluid spiritual path. Tamala, a psychotherapist who specializes in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, bravely shares her story of growing up in a home filled with domestic violence and the lasting impact it had on her life. I wanted to get to the root of why kids become bullies. Since it is the start of a new school year, I thought it was the perfect subject.  Today's guest, Joe Constantine, is a life coach from Colorado who specializes in Anti-Bullying. His company,  Breakaway Scores works with kids that suffer with bullying and mental health issues. He is also a survivor of bullying himself, when I saw his bio I had to reach out. Joe shared a bit of his own story being bullied so bad as a kid that he turned to Suicide as a way out. He also was being beaten up at home by an older brother. He decided he wanted to live his life trying to help kids that met the same fate and try to make a difference. I wanted to have a real conversation about why this is happening so often with kids. Today my guest, Caia DelaVergne, tells her story. In 2015, she was shot in the head along with another friend. Her story is one of survival but also how Caia went on to become a Mom and not let her story define her life. Jan Canty's world was upended when her husband didn't come home one night. She later learned he had been connected with a pimp and a prostitute - giving them money hand over fist - leaving her massively in debt.  After having to identify his body and being hounded by the media during his salacious trial, she needed to discover her why. The  journey was one of trauma and betrayal, but she was unable to grieve for years. Still unable to share where she lives, due to threats. Jan has found freedom in sharing the truth.
