Chabad Rabbi: ‘Unconditional Love Doesn’t Exist’ (Marriage Truths No One Talks About)28 Apr 202601:20:22

Rabbi Manis Friedman joins the show for a profound and soul-stirring conversation on the true essence of relationships, love, and spirituality in a disconnected world. Friedman also dives into the use of substances for consciousness expansion, the importance of reclaiming sacred respect within marriage, and how to distinguish between artificial religion and a raw, authentic connection with the Creator. Watch until the end to understand why giving from your true essence is the only way to heal the existential void and how to stop being a 'consumer' of people to become someone capable of genuine devotion. Don’t let the noise of the modern world cloud your purpose; learn to elevate your perspective and find true peace through the wisdom of the eternal.

Hala started her career in radio production while in college at HOT97 on “The Angie Martinez

Show.” Later, she launched an entertainment news blog site, “The Sorority of Hip Hop,” where

she led an all-female team of 50 bloggers. Together they ran the popular site, interviewed

celebrities, produced radio shows, hosted parties/concerts, and nearly snagged a reality TV

show on MTV!

When the blog site boom slowed down, Hala took a temporary exit from the entertainment

industry to get an MBA. She has 7 years of corporate marketing experience at HP and Disney

Streaming Services. She started Young and Profiting Podcast and YAP Media as a side hustle,

and now has several high-profile clients and over 40 employees. Hala is an expert on

networking, personal branding, LinkedIn marketing, side hustles, entrepreneurship, and

podcasting.

In this episode, Hala shares some of her keys to success with us. She starts by explaining what

to do if you feel held back by people in your life, how to skill stack, and ways to step into your

power truly! Then, Hala let us in on some of her daily routines that keep her healthy. Last, Hala

told us about her father's passing and how it motivated her, she explains the importance of

believing anything is possible, and Hala reveals her message to today's youth.

Psychedelics and Capitalism with Tim Sae Koo02 Apr 202101:22:49

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Tim Sae Koo. He is the CMO (Chief Manifestation

Officer) and Partner of 1heart, where he gets to pour his heart in selfless service after

bootstrapping and successfully exiting his first tech startup in Silicon Valley at age 27.

Declaring he would be the first Asian American POTUS at the age of 5 to his single mother, he

has continually flowed with his dream of manifesting solutions to problems that pain his heart to

see exist. After realizing politics was not efficient enough, and traditional businesses were too

focused on profit, he has committed to spending his time and energy on raising human

consciousness and sustainability impact through conscious business practices.

Tim’s main intention in partnering with 1heart is feeling in his heart that the greatest gift he can

give back to the world now is an experience that allows people to remember what it’s like to

create, lead, and live from the heart. When he’s not out there humbly playing a role in leaders’

transformation, he loves DJing Ecstatic Dances, practicing Vipassana meditation, and

backpacking around the world (30 countries and counting).

In this episode, Tim opens the show by exploring the concept of natural vs. normal. We need to

spend more time questioning our normal and become more natural in life. What are you doing

that is “normal” yet no longer serving you? Luckily, we have the opportunity to create any life

that we dream about. Tim talks about how he currently explores the world while spending his

time and energy however he wants. Later, we take a deep dive into plant medicines for your

mental health healing journey and chat about the resurgence of yet another psychedelic

movement.

A Message For Every Parent22 Mar 202100:21:20

In today's episode, Jeremy is speaking specifically to all of the parents out there. More and more kids are struggling with ADHD, Diabetes, and overall hyperactivity and imbalance.

A majority of these issues are a product of poor lifestyle decisions. And most of these decisions are being made by parents. So rather than always telling your kids what to do, why not try EMBODYING what you want them to do?

Want them to be more polite?

Then always make sure to use good manners YOURSELF.

Want them to be more grateful?

Start practicing gratitude YOURSELF.

Want them to eat healthier?

Stop buying and eating toxic food YOURSELF.

I know that being a parent is a full-time job, but my hope is that today's show offered you a fresh perspective on your role as a parent.

The Golden Key To Abundance with Brandon Beachum19 Mar 202101:09:06

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Brandon Beachum. He is an entrepreneur, thought

leader, author, and host of The Positive Head Podcast, as well as the late-night style talk

show, Optimystic. Brandon has been a serial entrepreneur since childhood, and in 2011 while

living on a friend’s couch he co-founded what is present-day ResortShare.

In 2015, ResortShare was named the 569th fastest-growing private company in America in the

annual Inc. 5000 fastest-growing companies list. Later that same year was when Brandon

began The Positive Head Podcast, which to date has amassed over 15M downloads and has

consistently rated in the Top Five in the “Spirituality” category on Apple. Today, Brandon’s

primary focus is on helping people shift their perspectives to understand the “ultimate nature of

reality’’ and create more of what they want to see in their world!

In this episode, Brandon Beachum gives us a powerful lesson on how to unlock your infinite

abundance. We speak about how to explore the deeper core of abundance in all its many forms.

Plus, we discuss the ways you can turn your triggers into treasures. If you are triggered by

something, then it's simply a reflection of you. When you understand this concept, you can

explore the possibility that you are the master of your own universe! Tune in as we dive into

plant medicine, sexual omnivores, and The Golden Key.

[01:00] How To Turn Your Triggers Into Treasures

- We can talk about so many things; however, results will speak loudest.

- There is no “out there.” Instead, everything is reflecting back to you in some way, shape,

or form.

- If you are triggered by something, most likely it’s because you have done that very thing

– think about what that trigger is showing you about yourself.

- Remember, when someone triggers you, that person is just playing a role in your own

development.

- Explore the possibility that you are the master of your own universe!

[06:20] Find The Lessons In Your Most Significant Challenges Throughout Life

- Whenever you are in a challenging situation, think about how you can learn from it.

- If you get the lesson that you're supposed to get, then that's what your soul is calling for.

- We come together with any kind of relationship because there's an opportunity for

growth there.

- The universe is efficient and is always looking for you to grow. Once the message has

been received, then a natural separation will occur.

- Whenever you have a conflict in a relationship - all you need to do is get through it.

Eventually, the resolution will present itself.

[15:00] On The Path To Fully Receiving Love & Support From Your Loved Ones

- Reality shows up as a reflection of where we are.

- Whoever we're attracting into our field must be a vibrational match in some way for that

to happen.

- If you are in an unhealthy and toxic relationship, then it’s a reflection of where you are in

your own growth and development.

- Communication is EVERYTHING in a relationship.

- If you can be clear about what you’re struggling with, then your relationship can thrive.

- When you can share anything that you are feeling or thinking in a relationship, you can

dive into a deeper level of love.

[21:05] The Story of Sexual Drive: So, Are We Designed To Be Sexual Omnivores?!

- Brandon highly recommends checking out the work of Christopher Ryan. He is a

Psychologist and author of the book Sex at Dawn. Plus, he has a Ted Talk about the

history of promiscuity in our society.

- Our closest cousins are chimps and bonobos – they are nowhere close to being sexually

exclusive.

- History shows that humans were not sexually exclusive.

- As long as there is honesty in a relationship, we can have more than one soul bond.

- Listen to the TED Talk:

https://www.ted.com/talks/christopher_ryan_are_we_designed_to_be_sexual_omnivores

[35:50] How Plant Medicines Help Raise Your Self-Awareness And Consciousness

- Plants have helped anchor in Brandon’s perspective - that's one of the foundational

things that most people experience at some level.

- When using plant medicines, it’s essential to embrace your feelings. What you resist

persists, and what you accept, you move through.

- Often, fearful thoughts will come up to the surface during a plant medicine journey.

When this happens, make sure you accept those thoughts and feelings. That way, you

can face your fears and experience your higher self. After all, we are our soul’s

expression.

[44:55] All About The Golden Key: Modern Alchemy to Unlock Infinite Abundance

- Brandon has incredible amounts of synchronicity.

- In a dream, Brandon came up with the inspiration behind his book.

Scheduling Sex, Overcoming Adversity, and Intermittent Fasting With Cynthia Thurlow05 Mar 202101:28:29

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Cynthia Thurlow. Cynthia is a globally recognized expert in nutrition and intermittent fasting, highly sought-after speaker, and the CEO and founder of Everyday Wellness Project. She's been a nurse practitioner for 20+ years, and is a two-time TEDx speaker. Her viral TEDx Talk: Intermittent Fasting: Transformative Technique has been viewed nearly 5.5 million times in less than 9 months. She has been featured on ABC, FOX5, KTLA, CW and in Medium and Entrepreneur. She's also the host of Everyday Wellness podcast, which was listed as "20 Podcasts That Will Help You Grow in 2020"  by Entrepreneur magazine.

In this episode, Cynthia dives deep into her viral TEDx Talk. She speaks about what it was like to prep for her speeches and how her hospital experience fueled her drive even more. Then, we talk about why Cynthia ended up leaving clinical medicine; she had been feeling very disillusioned with the practice for a long time. Fortunately, Cynthia landed on her feet, and she loves being an entrepreneur and teaching people about nutrition and intermittent fasting. Tune in as we chat about sex, healthy foods, and the life lessons we should teach our children.

[04:00] What It's Like To Actually Give An Unforgettable TEDx Talk

  • For Cynthia’s first TEDx Talk, her most significant concern was if she could pull off memorizing 15 to 20 minutes of a speech. During the event, her goal was to be the best speaker.
  • After the first experience, Cynthia felt completely confident that she could pull off another TEDx Talk.
  • A month before the second TEDx Talk, Cynthia was sent off for an emergency CAT scan which revealed that her appendix had ruptured. Unfortunately, the entire length of her colon was inflamed, which explained why she was in so much pain.
  • Next, the surgeon came in, and the first thing she said was, “if I take you to surgery tonight, you'll lose your colon.”
  • Cynthia was in a panic – she didn’t want to lose her colon. However, Cynthia wasn’t getting any better. She had lost fifteen pounds in five days.
  • When they did the second CAT scan, they realized that she developed abscesses in her abdomen.
  • 27 days after Cynthia left the hospital, she did the talk on intermittent fasting. Ten days later, Cynthia had her appendix out.

[12:25] Writing A Speech And Committing It To Memory For TEDx

  • Cynthia knew that she needed a solid two weeks to write a speech and commit to memory.
  • She only had twelve minutes – it was a challenge because when you get up in front of a live audience, your cadence generally slows down. Once you find your stride, you relax, and you might draw things out a little longer.
  • So, midway through her talk, Cynthia realized that she didn't have enough time to get through the whole speech.
  • Right after the TEDx Talk, Cynthia told her coach it was the worst one that she has ever done.

[15:15] Becoming A Popular TEDx Talk After Almost Dying

  • Cynthia knows that mindset is everything. So, Cynthia wanted to get up there and give her talk no matter what. After, she knew she was going to be so proud of herself.
  • Retrospectively, she has no idea how it all came together.
  • When she watches it now, she thinks about how painful it was.
  • Luckily, Cynthia is now in a completely different place on every level.

[24:05] Ditching Doctor Days For The Untamed World Of Entrepreneurship

  • On April 1, 2016, Cynthia left clinical medicine. She had been feeling very disillusioned with clinical medicine for a long time.
  • Eventually, Cynthia realized what truly lit her up. What Cynthia enjoys doing is food and nutrition work. Plus, she loves to talk about the influence of food and nutrition on our well-being and our health.
  • Cynthia spent the rest of 2016 navigating the journey from being a clinician to being an entrepreneur. She built a group program and was profitable fairly quickly.
  • Plus, Cynthia started podcasting – it is an amazing opportunity to connect with people!

[32:10] Potential Pitfalls When Treating Symptoms Rather Than The Root Cause

  • Chronic disease management is terribly unfulfilling.
  • Doctors forget to talk to patients about the quality of the foods they eat. Plus, many doctors tell patients that saturated fat is bad and they should be drinking these plant-based garbage seed oils.
  • Sadly, there isn’t enough time for doctors to talk with patients about nutrition.
  • Cynthia’s patients opened her up to the possibility that maybe there were other alternatives or other ways of thinking about things rather than these medications.
  • Many medications have sexual side effects – what 35-year-old would want erectile dysfunction?
  • Unfortunately, our society is increasingly metabolically unstable and obese. Men can actually aromatize testosterone to estrogen.

[43:50 Taking The Power Of Your Sex Life As You Get Older

  • You have to schedule a time for intimacy. Also, intimacy can represent many different things.
  • Intimacy doesn't have to mean penetrating sex, it could be like someone's giving you a massage, or you're just cuddling with one another.
  • You have to schedule time together.
  • Cynthia recommends looking into Susan Bratton, a trusted sex advisor: https://susanbratton.com/.
  • Plus, you should continue to date your spouse.
  • Lastly, don’t be afraid to explore using new devices.

[56:15] Overwhelmed In 2021? Find Balance!

  • You have to have a partner who is supportive of your needs.
  • For Cynthia, there's a lot of role modeling that goes on. Her kids see that she is committed to being physically active.
  • When you're trying to find balance, then you need to acknowledge the things you don't do well and pay someone else to do them.

[61:50] Foods That Promote A Healthy Heart

  • Peppers
  • Tomatoes
  • Eggplants
  • Salmon
  • Mackerel
  • Tuna
  • Sardines
  • Butter
  • Avocados
  • Olive oil

[65:50] Top Foods For A Developing Child

  • Salmon
  • Tuna
  • Avocado
  • Walnuts
  • Macadamia nuts
  • Olive oil
  • Olives
  • Coconut butter
  • Coconut milk

[76:20] What Cynthia Hopes Her Children Learn In School

  • Cynthia hopes her children learn to think outside the box and to not be afraid to do or live differently than the way their peers do.
  • She hopes that her boys feel confident enough in themselves that they will follow their own path without necessarily doing everything that their peers are doing.
  • Overall, we're the only ones that are responsible for our happiness.

The Truth About Marriage & Medicine27 Jun 202501:57:45

This week’s episode is one of the most meaningful conversations I’ve ever had.

I sat down with my dad — Dr. Scott Abramson — just before his 78th birthday, and we dove into 40+ years of wisdom, love, and lived experience.

In this episode, we explore:

🔷 What’s broken in Western medicine — and how to fix it

🔷 How your childhood shapes your health and relationships

🔷 The secret to a 47-year marriage that still thrives

🔷 His raw, honest reflections on fatherhood — and raising me

🔷 The emotional weight doctors carry (and rarely talk about)

This conversation is deep, honest, and healing — especially for anyone looking to better understand the connection between family, love, and legacy.

Tame Your Hidden Dragon with Dr. Daniel Amen26 Feb 202101:03:06

Today, I am blessed to have Dr. Amen join the show. Dr. Amen has helped millions of people change their brains and lives through his health clinics, best-selling books, products, and public television programs.

Dr. Amen is one of America’s leading psychiatrists and brain health experts. He has authored or coauthored 70 professional articles and more than 30 books, including New York Times mega-bestseller Change Your Brain, Change Your Life. He has appeared on numerous television shows, including Dr. Phil, Larry King, Dr. Oz, The Doctors, and The View.

In this episode, Dr. Amen opens the show speaking about his work with SPECT brain imaging. He explains what sorts of things can affect our brain negatively, especially when it comes to smoking marijuana. On Dr. Amen’s journey, he’s gotten a lot of negativity directed at him from his peers. Luckily, he has learned to push through the negativity using his 18/40/60 principle. Tune in as we talk about how being a celebrity can affect the brain, and we discover what dragons are making you sad, mad, nervous, or out of control. Don’t forget to get Dr. Amen’s latest book, Your Brain Is Always Listening

[06:40] About Dr. Amen’s Work With SPECT Imaging

  • In the 1990s, Dr. Amen started using a study called  SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography). SPECT is a nuclear medicine study that looks at blood flow and activity to identify underlying brain issues that can contribute to symptoms accurately.
  • It basically shows us three things:
  • Good activity
  • Too little activity
  • Too much activity
  • SPECT completely revolutionized how Dr. Amen treated his patients and how he treated himself.
  • Dr. Amen came to realize that mental health was actually brain health – this realization changed everything!
  • After working on people with substance abuse issues, Dr. Amen noticed that their scans just look terrible.
  • So, Dr. Amen wanted to know what different drugs did to the brain. He took a healthy group and compared them to a marijuana group. In the marijuana group - every area of their brains was lower, particularly the hippocampus, which is the brain's major memory structure.
  • What are the factors that accelerate aging in the brain? First, schizophrenia. Second, marijuana!
  • If you smoke pot as a teenager, you have a higher incidence of anxiety, depression, and suicide in your 20s.

[16:55] Pushing Through Negativity On Your Journey

  • Dr. Amen has been able to push forward through all of the negativity in life. Sadly, so many people in his space talk down on him.
  • It was quite the wild ride until he stopped paying attention to it.
  • Early on, Dr. Amen realized there's not one kind of depression; there are seven kinds of depression. Based on imaging, there are seven types of ADD. Plus, there are six different types of addicts. These ideas are pushing against the status quo.
  • Plus, some of the medications Dr. Amen was taught to prescribe were toxic for brain function!
  • Sadly, people think Dr. Amen is crazy because he says you should not make diagnoses based on symptom clusters with no biological data.
  • Dr. Amen says he doesn’t care if you like him or not anymore. Basically, if you’re a doctor and don't look at your patients' brains, then shame on you!
  • “When I stopped paying attention to what people said about me, I just got so much happier.” -Dr. Amen

[24:00] About The 18/40/60 Principle

  • When you're 18, you worry about what everybody is thinking of you; when you're 40, you don't give a darn what anybody thinks of you; when you're 60, you realize nobody’s  been thinking about you at all.
  • People spend their days worrying and thinking about themselves, not you.
  • If someone criticizes you, they're only thinking about it for a short period of time.
  • Also, if someone is criticizing you, then they actually don't know you at all.

[26:00] Brain Challenges For Celebrities

  • Celebrities suffer from high stress, especially when becoming famous at a young age like, Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus. Their pleasure centers get worn out. Your pleasure centers deepen the brain to an area in the basal ganglia called the nucleus accumbens; it responds to dopamine.
  • When you're a worldwide star, you are getting a lot of dopamine production from people recognizing you and you signing big contracts. With child stars, this is before their brains are actually finished developing.
  • The more dopamine that hits those pleasure centers, the more it deadens them.

[29:00] The Importance of Delayed Gratification

  • Walter Mitchell is a professor at Stanford. He did this experiment with four-year-olds. Basically, the kids could agree to get a marshmallow now. However, if they can wait a little bit, then they would get two marshmallows.
  • The kids that opted to wait to get more marshmallows were significantly more successful in virtually every area of their lives because they had impulse control.

[33:40] The Detriments On The Frontal Lobe

  • Porn is wearing out your pleasure centers – it will deaden those centers.
  • You have to be very thoughtful when it comes to the brain.
  • The real weapons of mass destruction are highly processed pesticide spray, high-glycemic, low-fiber food substances.
  • Sadly, 72% of us overweight, and 42% of us obese. It's the biggest brain drain in the history of the United States.

[36:15] About Dr. Amen’s Daily Routines

  • As soon as Dr. Amen’s feet hit the floor in the morning, he says to himself, “today is going to be a great day.”
  • He starts the day by lifting weights. Then, he puts amazing foods into his body.
  • Dr. Amen only loves foods that love him back.

[42:00] Relationship Advice

  • You only want to be in a relationship where the person loves you back.
  • If a relationship isn’t working, you have to be honest.
  • Are you unhappy? Then, it’s time to be honest with your partner and with yourself.
  • In a relationship, you need to know what you want. Then, ask yourself: does your behavior get you what you want?
  • Basically, make sure that your actions align with your aspirations.

[47:40] About Dr. Amen’s Relationship With His Father

  • Dr. Amen had a complex relationship with his dad. His dad’s favorite word was no. His second favorite word was bullshit.
  • As a child, Dr. Amen was angry at his dad.
  • Eventually, Dr. Amen healed the relationship with his father.
  • It was a complicated relationship, and when he died, Dr. Amen was really sad.

[54:15] Know Your Dragons

  • Everyone has a dragon. The most common one is the anxious dragon.
  • The second most common one, which was a surprise, is the responsible dragon. That's where you feel like you have to take care of other people. You can actually breed codependency if you're not careful with that dragon.
  • Also, the wounded dragon is really common.

Optimize Your Health and Happiness with Adam Kramer19 Feb 202101:35:08

Today, I am blessed to have here with me, Adam Kramer. Adam Kramer helps businesses create connections that make them money. He is a senior-level business development executive with a keen entrepreneurial instinct and over twenty years of experience selling and building a service brand in the healthcare sector.

In this episode, we jump right into the most significant ways in which Adam has been challenging himself recently. Adam reveals the crucial lessons that he has learned on his journey and some things you can implement into your own life. Later, we talk about Adam's work in the healthcare industry, including their up-and-coming innovative genetics test for Covid. Tune in as we speak about healthy living for cancer prevention, the healing power of nature, and the importance of staying present.

[05:15] Adam’s Most Significant Challenges

  • The biggest way that Adam has been challenging himself is by being strict with his routine.
  • The other way that Adam has been challenging himself is by breaking things down into tiny habits. He likes to start small to make a big difference.
  • For instance, Adam began small by doing ten pushups before his shower. Now, he is doing two-hundred pushups.

[09:40] Important Lessons For Enjoying Your Journey

  • You need to be grateful for your challenges and be thankful for everything that's happened in the past because it's brought you to where you are today.
  • A key to enjoying your journey is to serve and help others.
  • Another critical lesson to remember on your journey is that you should never harbor hard feelings for anyone. Overall, it doesn't serve you, and it doesn't serve them either. In fact, it will only set you back.
  • Also, you can't hold everybody to the standard that you hold for yourself.
  • Lastly, stop watching the news! Four years ago, Adam stopped watching the news. It has been a tremendous help for enjoying his journey. At the same time, Adam stopped talking negatively about other people - total life-changing habits!

[19:35] What Adam Is Currently Working On

  • Adam has been in the healthcare space for over twenty years. He says it’s incredible to see the impact that he has made on people's lives.
  • Adam has always been super passionate about innovative healthcare. The stuff that he works with is on the cutting edge.
  • After moving to Australia, Adam landed at a really innovative genetics company. Their company helps people get insight into their risk of developing certain diseases. That way, people can take action today to prevent them from ever coming up to the surface.

[43:10] The Key To Surviving Cancer

  • Early detection is the key to surviving cancer.
  • For almost any cancer, when you catch it early, we have a medicine that can save your life.
  • Cancer prevention goes back to perspective and consistency when it comes to our lifestyle habits.
  • What you put in your mouth is in your microbiome. There is a direct correlation between diet and all these chronic diseases. Cancer eats sugar; that's the bottom line. If you cut off the source, then cancer will die.
  • Eating right and having a healthy lifestyle is the biggest game-changer as far as cancer prevention goes.

[52:20] Future Covid Testing

  • Adam and his team are working on a Covid test that will tell you how bad you will be if you get Covid. The test will also predict if you'll end up in the hospital or not.
  • In Melbourne, everyone is locked up. However, only 5% of people really need to be locked up.
  • Lock up has devasting health impacts and economic impacts. We need to get back to work! Hopefully, this test will be a solution.
  • When we know who is at high risk, we can prioritize the vaccine.

[55:20] Educating Children About Healthy Eating

  • You don’t need to force your children to eat healthy foods. Instead, you should be a role model and eat healthily.
  • When we set an example, we don’t need all these different laws in place. For instance, sodas in schools. Yes, our children shouldn’t be drinking soda. However, are the adults in their life drinking soda? Children need healthy role models!
  • Leading by example is the key to a healthier planet.

[66:40] Ways of Living an Authentic Life

  • Face your fears and stop caring about what other people think!

Man Boobs, Gary Vee, and Fitness With Jordan Syatt12 Feb 202101:05:24

Today, I am blessed to have here with me Jordan Syatt. Jordan Syatt is a short, bald, Harry Potter nerd with an affinity for deadlifting and also happened to be Gary Vaynerchuk's personal trainer.

Jordan began Syatt Fitness, his online fitness coaching business, from his dorm at the University of Delaware in 2011 and has become one of the industry’s leading experts in strength training, nutrition, and behavioral psychology.

One of the only people in the world to deadlift 4x his own body weight, Jordan's work has been featured all over the world, including a variety of media publications such as CNN, The Huffington Post, Business Insider, Men's Health Magazine, Men’s Fitness Magazine, and Schwarzenegger.com.

In this episode, Jordan opens the show explaining how he ended up being the personal trainer for Gary Vaynerchuk. With a lot of hard work and a little luck, Jordan coached Gary for seven days a week, three years straight. Overworking and a lack of sleep led Jordan to feel insecure about his body. We dive into those insecurities and how Jordan overcame them. Plus, we discuss Jordan's decision to attend therapy and the importance of mental health, especially when overwhelmed by social media. Tune in as we talk about which health tools are overrated and which health tools are underrated.

[04:00] About Jordan Syatt

  • Jordan started his website in college to make content and write articles. For the first six months to almost a year, Jordan only got 20 views a day on his website.
  • In 2012, Jordan wrote an article about improving posture while sitting at your desk. A stranger at the time, Mike, asked a question on the article, and Jordan responded. Down the road, Mike becomes Gary Vaynerchuk’s personal trainer.
  • Gary needed help with his posture, so Mike recommended Jordan for the job!
  • You never know who is going to come across your content.

[11:00] The Importance of Content Creation

  • It’s super cool that Jordan can say he coaches Gary Vaynerchuk.
  • What’s not something that he talks about is the countless hours and hours of work he put into his website creating content.
  • When everyone was partying in college, Jordan was writing articles for his website. Sadly, his mom was the only one reading them for a long time.
  • However, because of this content creation, Jordan found Gary Vaynerchuk.

[12:35] Jordan’s Time With Gary Vaynerchuk

  • When Jordan coached Gary, his time was Gary's time for seven days a week, three years straight.
  • Jordan didn’t have weekends, he didn’t get breaks, and he didn’t get vacations. Because of this, Jordan couldn’t keep his fitness and eating routines. Instead, he was eating at the airport, barely sleeping, and losing muscle mass.
  • Eventually, Jordan became uncomfortable in his own body.
  • Plus, Jordan wasn’t able to build relationships with other people because he was constantly working.

[16:00] All About Body Image

  • Everybody struggles with body image – even people who we consider beautiful and handsome. We have no idea what other people are going through despite their outer appearance.
  • Every person has a story that happened to them as a kid that they'll always remember. These stories will shape our mental & emotional habits and thoughts around who we are today.
  • For Jordan, a girl in sixth grade said that he had “manboobs.”
  • We all have mini traumas that we kind of brushed under the rug. However, these traumas have informed our belief systems and our identities.

[20:15] The Decision To Attend Therapy

  • If you’re thinking about therapy, Jordan says to do it!
  • Therapy has completely changed Jordan’s life, and he is incredibly grateful for it.
  • Anxiety was the most significant reason that Jordan wanted to go to therapy.
  • Jordan always thought that the more followers you had on social media, the happier you must be. However, he realized that is not how happiness works.
  • A huge anxiety for Jordan is cancel culture – he’s worried about losing it all.
  • Ultimately, Jordan realized that worrying isn’t going to help anything.

[27:05] Tips On Repurposing Content

  • Anytime someone has a question, they go to Google, and they search it. They’re not going to find Instagram posts or TikTok videos. Instead, they’ll find articles and YouTube videos.
  • So, consider writing articles on the content that you have on Instagram and TikTok.
  • Jordan can take a tweet that he wrote and eventually have enough content for a YouTube video.

[32:00] Overrated or Underrated: Intermittent Fasting

  • Intermittent fasting is overrated.
  • You can eat breakfast and still lose fat; intermittent fasting is not going to be the savior for fat loss.
  • It can be a useful tool, but it’s not necessary!

[33:45] Overrated or Underrated: Ice Baths

  • For fat loss, ice baths are overrated.
  • In general, ice baths are underrated.
  • Health and fat loss are two different things.
  • You get more of a dopamine hit from an ice bath than you do from smoking cigarettes.
  • People hate getting into ice baths. However, people who are doing something that they don’t want to do will get many benefits. These people create habits of overcoming obstacles.
  • Overall, ice baths are great for well-being and mental strength.

[37:05] Jujitsu Is Beneficial For Overall Well-Being

  • Jujitsu is the thing that has been the most beneficial for Jordan’s mental health, physical health, emotional health, and resilience.
  • Every time Jordan goes to jujitsu, he knows he’s going to be put in uncomfortable positions. However, it’s the most primal event that you could ever imagine - fighting for your life.
  • Jujitsu has massive mental benefits.

[45:40] Pushing Behavior Change On Loved Ones

  • How do you speak to your mom, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, partner about making health changes without overstepping boundaries?
  • It’s a challenge! First, make sure they know you love them no matter what.
  • Then, set the example.
  • It’s not fair to do something outrageous – there should be a balance.
  • Basically, embody what you want to attract.

[57:40] What Jordan Wishes He Learned In School

  • First, Jordan wishes he learned about taxes in school.
  • Also, Jordan wishes there were more discussions about philosophy in school. Students can learn lessons from philosophy that they can apply to their everyday lives – it’s incredible.
