Gender Pronouns represent a topic that merits discussion, and I am very excited to have two very special guests join us today to begin increasing awareness of this topic--Heather Pizzuro-Urquhart and Elizabeth Kennedy. As stated in Wikipedia, “Preferred gender pronouns or personal gender pronouns (often abbreviated as PGP) refer to the set of pronouns (in English, third-person pronouns) that an individual wants others to use in order to reflect that person's gender identity. In English, when declaring one's chosen pronouns, a person will often state the subject and object pronouns—for example, "he/him", "she/her", or "they/them"—although sometimes, the possessive pronouns are also stated ("she/her/hers", "he/him/his", or "they/them/theirs"). The pronouns chosen may include neopronouns such as "ze" and "zir". PGPs have come into use as a way of promoting equity and inclusion for transgender and genderqueer people. Their use has been identified by social workers, educators, and medical professionals as both a practical and ethical consideration.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preferred_gender_pronoun. As more trans and non-binary individuals have the courage to live openly, it is critical that we gain an increased understanding of gender pronouns to accommodate societal advances. Yet society is not accepting enough of people who do not identify as a man or a woman. Some progress is occurring, as several states begin to offer a third option on driver’s licenses, birth certificates and other documentation, while popular social media platforms are now expanding options to include updated PGPs. By incorporating an increased awareness and usage of preferred gender pronouns, we will be able to create a more inclusive society over time. Heather has been in education since 1999 where she has experience teaching elementary school, middle school, and special education. Chancellor “Lucky Chance” Jackson was born in Fulton County, Georgia, to Native American parents, he grew up in Smyrna, Georgia, and attended Stetson University. For nine years Chance played football at the high school and collegiate level. After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Communication and Media Studies, Chance lived abroad in China from 2018-2019 based on his decision to pursue a teaching job. Chance fell into writing after his traumatic experience of being arrested, and detained in Beijing for 14 days. Our guest’s nightmare began on April 4, 2019, when Beijing authorities showed up to his apartment unannounced and arrested Chance on drug charges. The Chinese Authorities detained Chance without providing any information about the nature of the alleged charges against him, and he was denied legal representation. After 14 hours of sitting handcuffed in a holding cell, Chance found himself assigned to Beijing Jail No. 6. Chance stayed in his cell with 14 Chinese men and 9 wooden beds for 24 hours a day while he was detained. During this time, he had no idea how many days he would remain in jail, or whether he would be set free. Thoughts like “Does anyone even know I am here?” troubled Chance at times. Voices of Ukraine: Oksana Bilozir's Inspirational Story Oksana Bilozir. Famous Ukrainian Pop Store, People’s Artist of Ukraine, Former People’s Deputy of Ukraine, and the Former Minister of Culture and Tourism in Ukraine.  Throughout her career, Oksana has made significant artistic achievements. Our guest began her concert activity in 1979 as a soloist of VIA "Vatra," which was founded by her first husband. Since 1994, she has been the lead singer of the music band "Oksana" and has released 15 albums, a DVD, and 10 music films. Not only is Oksana Bilozir a talented musician, but she is also a respected educator. In 1996, she became a professor in the Pop Singing Department at Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts. She also served as the Head of Department and a professor at the Kyiv State School of variety and circus arts. During 1996-1997, she taught at Kyiv State Institute of Culture. Oksana Bilozir's political career is equally noteworthy. She has been elected as a People's Deputy of Ukraine three times, twice from the bloc Our Ukraine (in 2002-2005 and in 2006), and from the bloc Our Ukraine – People's Self-Defense during early parliamentary elections in 2007. In addition, she led the Social Christian Party from 2004-2005, which later merged with United Centre. She became a member of the party Our Ukraine and had President Viktor Yushchenko as the Honorary chairman. However, in 2008, Bilozir and several prominent members left Our Ukraine and joined United Centre. She has been affiliated with various political parties throughout her career, including the Christian Democratic Union. Oksana Bilozir's political journey continued as she participated in the 2012 Ukrainian parliamentary election as an independent candidate, but unfortunately, she was not re-elected. In the 2014 Ukrainian parliamentary election, she was a candidate of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc but did not secure a seat in parliament. Despite the ups and downs of her political career, Oksana Bilozir remains a prominent figure in both the arts and politics of Ukraine. Always believing in and standing solidly behind my second eldest son, Sean Murphy-Bunting, in 2019 his dreams of playing in the NFL became a reality when he was selected in the 2nd round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the 39th overall pick. That same year marked my 19th year of Kim being a sports mom. In 2021, Sean became a Super Bowl Champion and Kim became a PROUD Super Bowl Champion Mama! Kim enjoys being a blessing to others. She has long been an active member in the Metro Detroit community where she was born and raised.
