Accurate irrigation scheduling maximizes the benefits of irrigation and reduces the damage over-, or under-irrigation does to your crops. Often people schedule irrigation by feel rather than by plant need. Unfortunately, some irrigation scheduling methods can be wildly inaccurate since plant water needs and the amount of soil water available to plants are affected by climate, plant size, soil type, and rooting depth.

Accurate irrigation scheduling aims to replace soil water lost by evaporation and plant use as precisely as possible. There are several online apps available to help today with irrigation scheduling. Cities in Florida have been mandated to eliminate all surface wastewater storage by the year 2032. Tampa, for example, currently produces 50 million gallons of reclaimed water a day. And it’s wastewater that’s all being dumped into the beautiful Hillsborough Bay, which is not an ideal means of disposal.

World Ag Expo® is the largest annual outdoor agricultural exposition, with over 1,200 exhibitors and an attendance of more than 100,000 each year. It is held at the International Agri-Center® in Tulare, California, in the United States, starting on the second Tuesday of February. The U.S. Department of Commerce has officially designated it as an affiliate of the Foreign Buyer Program, which encourages exporting American-made goods. Before its 2001 rename, the event was called the California Farm Equipment Show and International Exposition.

This year it starts on February 14 and finishes on the 16th.
