Interview w/John Johnson, director of Curse of the Blue Lights and Zebulon Pike and the Blue Mountain18 Aug 202301:14:21

Today's guest is John Johnson, director of Curse of the Blue Lights and Zebulon Pike and the Blue Mountain. This is a special episode, as John Johnson is also a resident of Pueblo, Colorado, where I live! Zebulon Pike and the Blue Mountain is a historical dramatization of the true story of Zebulon Pike's expedition west, filmed on location in the locations his journey actually took him to.

Let's rank 21 evil doll movies12 Aug 202200:18:46

I love evil doll movies. There's something so intensely unsettling about mundane, harmless things like dolls doing things they shouldn't be able to. If you found yourself being chased by a regular guy with a knife, at least people might believe you, but who would believe you if you told them you're being chased by a doll with a knife? Trying to get help could get you landed in an asylum!

Here are my thoughts on twenty one evil doll movies.

A history of horror antagonists in 36 films15 Jul 202200:34:30

While designing Fear of the Unknown, I divided the movies that were inspiring me up into six categories based on the kind of antagonist they feature. For each of those categories I came up with six example movies that I think tell the history of that kind of antagonist, talk about why I loved that movie, and if you love that movie, give a few suggestions for what to watch after it - so I actually end up talking about way more than 36 films.

The six categories are Mundane Threats, Seemingly Unstoppable Threats, Unbelievable Supernatural Threats, Cosmic Horrors, Enormous Threats, and Conspiracies. I list 6 movies in each of those categories, plus suggestions what to watch next if you liked that movie.
