Episode 92: How is THAT not on the Quest Log?!
28 Aug 2024
01:44:25
Welcome back to IndieQuest, a celebration of all things indie games!
On this episode we start off chit chatting about some upcoming indie titles that we're looking for (which just so happen to be mostly RPGs). Then we kick off our indie picks! There have been many times where we reference games and go "wait a minute... how is THAT not on the Quest Log?!" That's what this episode is all about!
It's a fun discussion, and we still happened to bring a great variety of titles even with these parameters. Let us know of some we should bring if we decide to do another episode like this! - -- ------ -------------- ------------------- Games talked about in the show (contains spoilers for the episode): ---------------- -------- --- - Hollow Knight, Hollow Knight Silksong, Plucky Squire, UFO 50, Some game with a cat that Seth hinted at maybe Stray 2?, Kingdoms of the Dump, Bloomstown: A Different Story, The Messenger, Mark of the Ninja, Cuphead

Seriously, these games are free, and they're good enough to be placed on the Quest Log! You'd be surprised at the amount of awesome free indie games out there that are worth your time, and all you have to do is press download...

Welcome back to IndieQuest your friendly, neighborhood indie game podcast!
On this episode we chat about the eclipse (and eclipse inspired drinks), games that are logical, games that are thoughtful, and games that are diabolical...
We also sit comfortably on the fence and have surprisingly deep conversations about indie games and how they are viewed many years after they hit the public consciousness.

Welcome back to IndieQuest, your friendly, neighborhood gaming podcast!
On this episode we each bring something unique to the Quest Log! Steve brings an essential indie classic, Josh bring a unique if somewhat flawed co-op game, and Drachma brings a cartoony take on a formula created by another indie classic. We laugh, chat enthusiastically about games, and also talk about the weather a bit because we're almost-middle age dudes... :)
Enjoy the good vibes! - -- ------ -------------- ------------------- Games talked about in the show (contains spoilers for the episode): ---------------- -------- --- - Firewatch, Bokura, Lil' Guardsman

On this episode we bring back our Indie game music listening party - IndieQuest OST!
Kick back, relax, and listen to some of the hidden gems in the indie game music landscape! It runs the "gambit" (as Josh says more than once in the episode) of a bunch of different genres, from orchestral tracks to... Synth-wave to... eh we'll leave it open for you to hear for yourselves!
(Check the chapters to skip tracks if you like, but we recommend listening to the entire thing!)

Welcome back to IndieQuest, a celebration of indie games!
On this episode we start off the show with some listener submitted comments and emails (spotify has a comment section, who knew?!) then we jump into our 4th ever second opinion discussion!
A second opinion episode is an excuse for all the hosts to dive headfirst into the quest log and play a game one of the other hosts placed there! Will there be controversy? Who's getting roasted?! Listen to the DRAMA unfold!! (or what most likely will happen is we'll just hang out and chat about some cool games...)
If you have a game you have played from the quest log let us know via email or twitter!

On this episode of IndieQuest, a podcast all about the wonderful word of indie video games, we bring an in depth review of what could possibly be 2023's biggest indie game, SEA OF STARS!
From the Store description... "Sea of Stars is a turn-based RPG inspired by the classics. It tells the story of two Children of the Solstice who will combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic, the only force capable of fending off the monstrous creations of the evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer."
This game was kickstarted in March of 2020, gaining funding in just under 7 hours. It's set in the same universe as Sabotage Studio's previous title, The Messenger, but in a different era and in an entirely different gameplay style.
We've been looking forward to this game for quite some time, so we thought it was only right to bring our friend Burgerchamp along for the ride.
We talk about everything... from all the intricacies of the gameplay, to the beautiful art design, to the various mini games (WHEELS!), where it falls on the quest log, and more (A LOT more)... then we round out the show with spoilers (which start at 1:29:00).

On this episode we do a review and deep dive of A Space For The Unbound from indie developer Mojiken!
From the store description, A Space For The Unbound is... "A magical adventure about two high school sweethearts set at the end of their school days - and the end of the world. Explore a crumbling town and help friends face their inner demons, which could be the key to stopping reality itself disintegrating. And don’t forget to pet the cats."
As always for our reviews there will be a top level and spoiler free review in the first half, and we will give you plenty of warning before we dive into the spoiler-filled back half of the show. (Please play the game before listening to the spoilers, this one is well worth a play through and the spoilers may ruin the story for you)

Welcome back to IndieQuest, a celebration of the indie and obscure! Your home for all things indie games!
On this episode we bring back one of our favorite topics of conversation, second opinions. On second opinion episodes, each host plays a game from the quest log that somebody else brought, and takes them to task. Do they agree with the placement of the game on the quest log? Was it a good recommendation? These episodes are mostly an excuse for us to take suggestions from our friends, and actually get through some of the games on the quest log that we're interested in.
Other topics of conversation are summer time, amusement parks, and steam sale pickups!
Enjoy! :D

On this episode of IndieQuest (everybody's favorite indie video game podcast) your hosts decided, eh why not - let's listen to some more music!
We each picked the most obscure indie video game music that we could find. Some of these tracks have less than 50 listens on youtube! Our favorite part of doing this show is spreading the love to the little guy. If you enjoy a track, support the artist and tell them we sent you!
We also reached out to a couple of community members for song selections!
Kick Back, relax, and let's listen to some good tunes :)

Welcome back to your indie video game podcast, IndieQuest!
On this episode we have a full cast of cool bros!! Don't mind us, we're just 3 hosts chillin' and talking some rad games!
We start out the episode with some Itchy Trivia, where we highlight some neat looking indie games on itch.io in a game-show style format. Drachma gets competitive, Josh tries his darndest to sound like a game show host with varying levels of success, and Steve is just a cool dude doing cool things per usual.
We each bring a game to the quest log -- stick around to hear Drachma's pick because he's made it CLEAR that he digs this game, and has been all mysterious about it...
Enjoy, have fun, we hope this brings joy into your life!
