Keeping it 100- I'm tired as I write this. I've had a long day parenting in the hot Sun. It was a beautiful day, however my brain is FRIED to come up with an episode description that sounds related to the episode. Let's just say... I muse on Spring's transitions, transformations, & relationships. I sit by the fire for the intro because that felt right and some synchronistic things happen as I speak, so give good attention and see if you notice them (if you watch the video). Feeling very vulnerable in this one, which is probably why I felt drawn to film/record it outside by a tree we named Warren. Not too much of an intro for this one. I decided to just go straight into it. Honestly surprised me when editing this together that my Snowball mic didn't pick up too much on the environmental sounds. In this episode, I share with you some of the backstory and intention behind the reason I named this podcast Sister Sam. Themes of religious trauma, growing up in the Christian church. I don't name names in this in order to keep myself and the people in my life safe. I also speak on some important topics- being a global family with the Earth as our collective Mother, belonging, & community. I hope that this was comforting, healing, or inspiring to receive. <3

Coming to you from my cozy cave on the night of the Full Moon in Virgo, post Saturn ingressing into Pisces after being in Aquarius for the last 2.5ish years. (And if you know what that means, I love you. If you don't- I still love you.) Sharing this video of me reflecting on my time with the land in Santa Fe, NM because my spirits told me to and I couldn't come up with anything better in time. I have a feeling you'll be getting a lot of past me in this first season of Sister Sam. I like it. I feel like it a way for us to get acquainted before jumping into more person story-type conversations, but don't worry- they will come. I hope you enjoy this episode and find it inspiring for you to go out and connect with the land you live on or visit when you travel. Welcome to my podcast!! I'm so grateful that you're here.

It's so weird to listen to my own voice sometimes, but I'll just let this work be my work to understand and rework those feelings in due time. In this very first episode, I come to you from my backyard, talking about how I'm coming to understand the cultural phenomena of karaoke as a staple activity of Filipino culture and my own joy for singing and performing. I ask the question, "Why is it in my nature to be a *star,* to sing?"

You found me! This not-so little intro is a casual telling of why I created this space for long form sharing.
