We are not the happiest about this movie. A couple with some pretty fundamental communication issues goes home to see the parents but it turns out she's still in the closet. Lots of holiday "fun" ensues with a ton of fundamentally annoying and miserable people. It still boggles my mind why this is called Happiest Season when most of the movie is spent with so many deeply unhappy people! Needless to say we spend a lot of time dunking on it.

Back to school means homecoming, the fall football season, and of course cheerleaders! This week we're talking about the 90s cult classic "But I'm a Cheerleader" directed by Jamie Babbit. Chloe digresses heavily into a random story about an opossum. Val tries to keep Chloe on task, failing miserably. For a 90s queer film, this movie holds up! You should watch it!

Val has problems with this book, Chloe has problems with her mic. We apologize for the graininess on her end, but Val is the star of this episode anyway. We're talking Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust which is a pretty good sapphic fantasy novel inspired by Persian folklore. Val has some ideas on how to make the main character more likable. Chloe digresses a whole bunch. I think this is a more serious one, but it's really good I promise!
