Imagine It... The Iron Sheik Accepts Verne Gagne's Bounty And Shoot Breaks Hulk Hogan's Leg in 1984

1984 was a huge year for #WWE, as Vince McMahon planned a national expansion for the then WWF that would change the #wrestling landscape forever, and the centerpiece of that push was Hulk Hogan.

Of course the aggressive business tactics of McMahon made him many enemies across the industry, including AWA owner Verne Gagne, who McMahon had lured Hogan away from with a promise of more fame and fortune.

So as the legend goes as told by The Iron Sheik, who had a strong relationship with Gagne after Gagne gave him his start in the business in 1972, was that he was offered 100k to shoot break Hulk Hogan's leg. Sheik turned down the offer, reportedly citing loyalty to the McMahon family instead, but... Imagine It, what if Iron Sheik had taken the money and shoot broken Hulk Hogan's leg, keeping himself as the World Champion instead of dropping that title to Hulk Hogan in 1984.

Imagine It... Honky Tonk Man Drops The IC Title to Randy Savage on Feb 5th 1988's The Main Event

A few events in 1987 led to major ramifications in 1988 when "The Natural" Butch Reed was late to a TV taping where he was supposed to win the #WWE Intercontinental Title from Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, leading to The Honky Tonk Man instead getting that spot.

HTM would go on to hold the belt for a record 454 days, in part because he refused to drop the belt to "Macho Man" Randy Savage on The inaugural episode of The Main Event airing Feb 5th, 1988. This would lead booking changes in the then WWF, and those would be some of the most significant changes in #wrestling and #wrestlemania history. But Imagine It, what might have happened if Honky Tonk Man agreed to do the job to Savage?
