Glenn emphasizes the power of investing in ourselves before investing in others. By waking up early and dedicating quality time to personal growth, we can enhance our abilities, mindset, and overall well-being. Remember, every action should be seen as an investment, not merely a "spending" of time. Invest in yourself and reap the rewards in all aspects of your life.

The automotive industry, much like any other, needs to adapt and evolve to meet the changing needs and preferences of consumers. Glenn suggests leveraging modern tools and resources to create a more convenient and enjoyable experience, both for customers and employees. By embracing adaptation, we can increase the value and appeal of any industry or endeavor.

By doing so, we can nurture their growth and help them develop into the best versions of themselves. Remember, each child is on their own path, and our role as parents is to provide guidance and support.

The Power of Customer Experience ft. Jaime Zazove Herzberg03 Jun 202501:13:35

You could say Jaime Zazove Herzberg was born into the car biz — quite literally. Raised in a family-owned dealership, she grew up immersed in every corner of retail operations. Over her 12-year run on the showroom side, she wore nearly every hat imaginable: from receptionist to BDC manager, from inventory to contracts, license & title, and everything in between.

But regardless of the role, one thing has always guided her: the customer comes first. That principle was instilled in her early and has shaped every decision, strategy, and win across her career.
Jaime’s personal success stems from blending a relentless focus on customer needs with a strong command of metrics, KPIs, and operational efficiency. She’s known for turning feedback into fuel and crafting solutions that not only serve the customer—but elevate the entire dealership experience.
She’s also not shy about saying what many won’t: customer success teams are too often overlooked in our industry. Jaime believes it’s time to change that—and she’s on a mission to bring those unsung heroes into the spotlight where they belong.

BDC - Mentality, Respect, Appreciation ft. Martha Alvarado28 Jun 202300:30:36

What a truly amazing episode this is!

Martha has been in the auto industry for over 23 years. She started as a BDC representative for a Ford dealership. After a year in that position, she got promoted to BDC Manager and would then spend the next 3 years as a Customer Relations Manager. As she was in that role, she learned the entire dynamic inside of a dealer’s operations. As a liaison between the dealer, the customer and the OEM, she focused on improving the overall customer experience while interacting with all of the store's departments.

All of this in the early 2000’s where BDC was something dealers were new to as well as with CSI scores.

She has spent the last 18 years developing and managing Service and Sales BDCs, as well as Internet Departments emphasizing on the importance of how every department has a role in building retention and loyalty. She also focuses on bringing awareness to the top level leadership teams on the amount of information and feedback they have received from their BDRs as they are the ones who, more than any others, will discover how the consumer is feeling about our how our business operates.

She believes that the insights that a sales and service BDC can bring to help improve operations is something that NOBODY should be overlooking.

Her passion is helping to optimize dealership operations by making sure that Business Development Representatives do not lose sight of the ultimate goal of setting an appointment without forgetting that the purpose is connecting and acquiring feedback that can help your store become better every single day and for the different departments to implement better processes based on the information collected in order to provide a seamless customer experience across the board.

One of the greatest episodes I have ever recorded ft. Erica Bruno22 May 202500:44:59

Erica Bruno was practically born with motor oil in her veins. Hailing from Southeastern Massachusetts, she grew up in a legendary car family. Her grandfather, Jack Barboza, made history as one of the first Portuguese male car dealers in the U.S., running up to 17 franchises at once. Her mother followed suit, breaking barriers as the 7th female Toyota dealer in the nation—and the first in New England.

Even though her family tried steering her away from the business, Erica was hooked from the age of 7, when she cleaned her grandfather’s Dodge store office in exchange for a My Little Pony. Since then, she’s done it all—from washing cars and working in service & parts to selling on the showroom floor.

Keeping her promise to “get the degree first,” Erica graduated from the University of Vermont with a BA in History and Anthropology and a minor in Jazz Voice (yes, she’s a trained singer who almost went to Broadway). But just one month after graduation, she made her move—straight to Torrance, California, to begin her career at Toyota USA through their elite management training program.

Her journey has taken her from OEM giants like Toyota, Nissan, and Volvo to being one of the first 100 employees at AutomotiveMastermind, and beyond. She’s built a reputation for transforming dealership operations through branding, marketing, and data optimization—all while keeping the customer and culture at the heart of every strategy.

Erica is also a proud member of WOCAN (Women of Color Automotive Network) where she helps lead community initiatives, events, and newsletters that empower and connect women across the industry.

In 2021, she went viral on LinkedIn after vulnerably sharing the emotional impact of being laid off during COVID—a moment that sparked exponential professional growth and deepened her industry connections. Today, she uses that platform to inspire, educate, and uplift others navigating their own path in the car biz.

Off the clock, you’ll find Erica belting show tunes, cuddling animals, cracking jokes, or hyping up her people. She’s a true car girl at heart—and she’s just getting started.

Accountability, In Your Face ft. Todd Katcher03 May 202500:31:42

Before breaking into automotive, Todd Katcher was running bars in Nashville and building a small advertising network using digital signage. One day, a regular—who happened to be a car dealer—mentioned wanting something similar for his showroom. That conversation sparked the very first version of what would eventually become Digital Dealership System.

From day one, Todd’s approach has been rooted in curiosity and adaptability. He dove headfirst into the dealership world, asking questions, learning the industry from the inside out, and applying that knowledge to develop innovative tools that enhance the in-store experience. He went from sneaking into his first automotive convention to now standing proudly at the helm of a vendor booth featured in leading industry publications.

Like any bootstrapped venture, the road was far from smooth. Todd recalls building PCs on his bedroom floor, his first admin working beside him—literally on the floor—with dogs and cats roaming in the background, all while selling and supporting new clients. Understanding and adapting to the unique personalities of car dealers was another challenge—and one that continues to evolve.

Today, Todd leads product development at Digital Dealership System, solving two major problems dealers face:
1. Lost Opportunities in the Showroom: Dealers spend six figures on branding and marketing to drive traffic, only to drop the ball once customers arrive. Todd’s systems ensure branding, engagement, and customer experience extend all the way through the showroom.

2. Outdated Goal Tracking: Since the 1960s, dealerships have relied on dry-erase boards to motivate teams. Todd modernized this with digital leaderboards, real-time alerts, and goal tracking built for today’s fast-paced sales environments.

Under his leadership, Digital Dealership System has become the market leader in digital signage and leaderboard solutions, helping dealerships across the country modernize their in-store messaging, boost performance, and close more deals.

CMA's Strategy for Never Being Short on Techs ft. Beth Lucchesi22 Apr 202500:47:15

Beth Lucchesi’s journey with Carter Myers Automotive began in 1986 as a temporary receptionist—but it didn’t take long for her to prove she was anything but temporary. Her dedication, adaptability, and passion for people quickly propelled her through the company, eventually leading her to CMA’s rental division, where she remained until its sale to another company. After several years in the truck rental industry, Beth saw a post from Liza Borches seeking a recruiter—and instantly knew it was her sign to come home to CMA.

She dedicates her time to community outreach, engaging with students from elementary schools to colleges, technical programs, and everywhere in between, inspiring the next generation to consider the rewarding career paths available in automotive.
