Undoubtably one of the biggest moves in the history of this great industry, #Microsoft announced they intend to acquire #ActivisionBlizzard in an all-cash transaction valued at $68.7 billion.

 #Microsoft will become the world’s third-largest gaming company by revenue, behind #Tencent and #Sony. #Warcraft, #Diablo, #Overwatch #CallofDuty #CandyCrush are just some of the iconic franchise that will reside under Microsoft.

This week we serve up with our first edition of “Delay News”. The #Xbox timed exclusive, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, is the first casualty of the year. Will this impact the plans for #Xbox and their #GamePass offerings?

With timed Third-Party Exclusives popping up with some frequency, how big a deal are these? Do we as gamers value them? How important is it to have certain game franchises associated with specific platform?

The Finalists for the 25th Annual #DICEAwards have been revealed with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart leading the pack with nine nominations. #TheGameAwards Nominees for Game of the Year came under fire for #ForzaHorizon5 not making the cut. Has the industry now dismissed this noise as sour grapes from the fanboys or are they suffering with genre snobbery? #Sony have a surprisingly strong presence at the #DICEAwards, did the #PlayStation have a deceptively strong 2021?

#Techland stirred up an awful lot of people when they proudly announced that #DyingLight2 will require “at least 500 hours” to fully complete. The reaction from the media and fans alike was clearly not what they had intended and they shortly clarified this with further context. Has this raised any red flags for the game or is still on course for a day one purchase.

It’s time for our infamous Fantasy Gaming League. This year it Paper vs. Parky in the Championship showdown. They will go head-to-head in the draft, picking both games and players to represent them. It doesn’t get any better than this!

The lads recap a surprisingly newsworthy first week in the gaming world. #Sony released new details on the #PlayStationVR2 at #CES2022. Increased visual fidelity, headset-based tracking, new sensory features & eye tracking were all revealed as Sony’s marketing push begins. #XboxGamePass continues to prove the best value subscription service in gaming and things might be getting even better with #Ubisoft’s #RainbowSixExtraction coming Day 1. Whilst this might not seem overly exciting on the surface, does it spell out a future collaboration between #Microsoft & #Ubisoft? #E3 will not be taking place in-person this year due to #Covid concerns. This is yet another blow to the #ESA who have not been able to run the infamous convention for almost three years now.

Another year, another bloated Game Awards ceremony, riddled with ads, throwaway winners and a few interesting announcements.
