Episode 8: My Bond Journey06 Apr 202500:56:56

Join me as I spill the beans on my Bond journey, from my introduction tp Bond as a youngster, to living in my self-described Bond Bubble, to finally finding the greater Bond Community and the wonderful connections I have made over the last year. Hear my personal anecdotes about driving Cubby Broccoli's secretary crazy for months to connect with the man behind the chair, sitting behind Michael Wilson on a flight and connecting with him in our sweatpants, having a James Bond themed Bar Mitzvah with Sean Connery on the guest list, and much much more.

Special Episode: Visit to Dezerland!25 Mar 202500:29:13

Title says it all. Let me tell you ALL you need to know about my visit to Dezerland Orlando, the coolest unofficial collection of Bond vehicles, memorabilia, and stuff ever. Check it out...the podcast and the place. Not to be missed!!

Episode 7: To Score or Not to Score?21 Mar 202500:23:47

Wow that title has a little innuendo in it, doesn't it? Bond movies are known for grand film scores done by some of the greatest composers of our time. Very rarely do we hear popular music (regular songs) incorporated into a film's score and soundtrack. Should this continue, or should we change course and go the route of incorporating pop music excluding the title track into the film to help movie the story along?

Episode 6: The Vices of Bond13 Mar 202500:15:58

"Barely held together by your pills and your drink.."

On this episode, we'll discuss the vices of Bond including substance and alcohol abuse, gambling, womanizing, and more. Illegal drugs like heroin and cocaine have been used as plot devices before, but it has been some time. One of the largest crises currently facing our country is the fentanyl one. We'll explore if and when future Bond films should include drugs as the villain's motivation/plan and whether we should see substance abuse and/or overdosing included in the storyline.

Episode 5: Will the next James Bond please stand up?02 Mar 202500:20:56

Who is my pick for the next 007 actor? Tune in to Episode 5 for my exciting, controversial, and perhaps unorthodox pick to be the next man don the tuxedo and recite the famous lines. This one may get you talking a bit...

Episode 4: Locations, Locations, Locations14 Feb 202500:16:53

Our favorite hero has been to dozens of countries in the film series, many of them on multiple occasions. Time we gave Italy (six times?) a break and head elsewhere? I'll offer up my top choices for new Bondian locations around the globe and why they make viable selections for the next incarnation of 007.

Episode 3: Being a Bond Dad05 Feb 202500:18:54

Join me for a father's tale of raising a young child to share the affinity and love for James Bond that my father shared with me. Ill work to bridge the generations to keep the interest alive and I'll offer some tips up and the hopes I have for my boy and his Bond journey.

Episode 2: Audible's Fleming Audiobooks22 Jan 202500:25:40

Phewww...I'm more then halfway done with the new James Bond audiobooks being released by Harper Audio on Audible (an Amazon company). I can't wait to share the good, the bad, and the ugly about what I've seen (or heard rather) from the first nine books I've listened to. If you haven't given these a go yet, or even if you have, there's plenty to be said about the "clean-ups" and white-washing being done of the original text. Stay tuned for the whole picture.

Episode 1: Idiot Bond Fan19 Jan 202500:18:22

Welcome to our premiere episode, we are so glad you've joined us! In our first episode, we'll provide an in-depth intro to our podcast host, the inspiration for our title, and the Amazon/EON face-off. Follow us on Instagram for the most up to date information on future episodes and everything else.

Episode 9: Why So Serious, Bond Fans?17 Apr 202501:16:54

So excited to welcome my first guest. And what better guest then veteran podcaster, YouTuber, and self-proclaimed a-hole Intrepid 007. Our man in Canada will join me for an extended discussion on the topic "Do Bond fans take themselves too seriously?". We'll dissect the trends of "seriousness" from actor to actor, era to era of the Bond series and we will give our two cents on how the marketing, licensed products, extended wait periods between films, and pressure from social media has left many fans buttoning their three-piece suit a little too tightly. This one is not for weak ears.

Episode 10: Top 10 Cringe-Worthy Bond Moments18 Apr 202500:44:37

Cringe! Oh those moments in Bond movies where we roll our eyes, turn our heads, or raise our eyebrows. There’s a whole bunch! Episode 10 will be my top 10 cringe worthy Bond moments over the past 25 films. And no, it won’t be all about CGI surfing and bootie slaps. Jump on my crazy train before it leaves the station!

Episode 11: Bond's Back Story04 May 202500:32:52

Go there or don't go there? I'll make the argument (that may not be the most popular opinion on the block) that it's time to flesh out Bond's backstory. With a new film on the horizon, and possible additional mediums to complement a film series, the opportunities to show Bond as a youth growing up, interacting his friends and parents, going to grammar school and university, and eventually his military service, are growing. Will Amazon MGM take this opportunity to finally to develop his undeveloped backstory, or will they go with the general fan opinion which is to steer clear!

Episode 12: My Favorite Bond Movie is.... (Season Finale)10 May 202500:15:31

Season 1 finishes with a splash! I spill the beans on my favorite Bond movie. Cue the judgement.

Disclaimer: Favorite Bond movie and the BEST Bond movie are mutually exclusive things.

Special Episode: The Guessing Game!01 Jun 202500:37:50

Welcome to The Guessing Game! Some further thoughts on the Omega announcement and what it means...and what it doesn't. But the larger conversation it opens up is, how much of this guessing game is healthy for us as fans?

Special Episode: Stop the "Steel" (Box)12 Jun 202500:29:13

A quick impromptu episode on why I am choosing to not purchase the 4K Connery "steel" book box-set of DVDs that was just released.

Episode 14: Your Accountant HATES Your Hobby!13 Jul 202500:35:13

How much do you spend annually on your Bond hobby? Do you have any idea? Let's discuss some recent poll results about what people were willing to admit to...and why those results mean bupkis. I make the argument that most Bond fans do not have an accurate idea of how much they spend on this passion. With watches, products, trips, events, and more, if you aren't careful, being a fan of 007 could be to your financial detriment. Some food for thought for those who could use a financial wake-up call!

Episode 13: No Puppy Love09 Jul 202501:12:14

EON Productions has no love for pups, none! To start oursecond season, I'll tell a personal tale (or tail!) about my experience proposing a new product category to EON's consumer products licensing team for 007. And I was not treated very nicely! After 18 years in product licensing formy company, this is my forte. And this, by far and away, was the least professional and most condescending back and forth I've ever had professionally. The idiot is ready to speak up!

Episode 15: What Would Fleming Have to Say?15 Aug 202500:26:04

Catcha later dudes! Board the time-travelling telephone booth with me as we go back in time and reincarnate the spirit of Ian Fleming. Ok, not exactly! But in this episode, I’ll give you my take on what Fleming would have had to say about all that has transpired in the world of James Bond 007 since his death in 1964…the films, the continuation novels, the character interpretations, and how Bond has changed over the last sixty years. What choices would he have enjoyed, and what would driven him nuts? Well, Mr. Fleming, I’m ready to speak on your behalf!

Special Episode: The Top 10 things James Bond can do that 99.9% of the planet can’t…but he’s not superhuman?04 Aug 202501:28:17

Special delivery! Joe Darlington, the renowned podcast legend behind Being James Bond, joins me for an in-depth conversation in this special episode. Joe’s extensive knowledge around the world of Bond skill-sets blends perfectly with my inquisitive and satirical nature as we tackle the most outrageous and implausible skills and knowledge that James Bond embodies. It’s a fun ride that will have you questioning how believable Bond’s extensive knowledge is in more than twelve languages, his talent at commandeering any vehicle he has access to like a trained instructor, and his ability to have every outfit for every climate always at his disposal. Mary Poppins would be impressed!

Episode 19: Bond Baby Names!30 Sep 202501:10:07

Have you been in that situation, where you and your pregnant significant other are going back and forth over baby names? And to overcomplicate this already complex situation, you suggest a name of a Bond related actor or character? I wonder how that would go over!

In this episode, my guest "The Beared Blofeld" and I discuss how we approached this matter...and both got shot down. We'll present some baby names that may make your spouse's ears ring with joy...or at least be easier for them to swallow. And we'll also introduce some of our Bond community members who have had success and have brought home from the hospital a Felix, an Ian, a Lupe, and a happy wife.

Surprise Episode: I ♡ Suncoast17 Sep 202500:29:25

Remember Suncoast Motion Picture Company? The mall go to store for purchasing VHS, Laser Discs, and eventually DVDs? And pretty much the only store in the mall selling any kind of Bond collectibles, posters, and memorabilia? Yea well, from hundreds of locations, there are only TWO locations left nationwide (for now). Please indulge me as I reminisce down memory lane back to the days where I could walk into Suncoast every weekend with my friends and find a new Bond item to bring home. I miss those days...

Episode 21: Best/Worst Bond Posters (Part One)20 Oct 202501:22:04

Join myself and "That One Bond Guy," Chris Morales, for an in-depth discussion of the Bond franchise's best and worst posters over the last sixty years. We'll share our personal favorites and why we are drawn to certain poster art. International versions, British quads, teaser and character designs, we'll cover it all. Part One focuses on our personal "Top 10 Best" plus some personal anecdotes about how we actually met years before I joined the community completely by accident. This is an AUDIO only version. Visit my social to follow along with the posters discussed.

Stay tuned for Part Two shortly!4

Episode 23: Nice and light...in a lady's handbag.11 Nov 202500:51:55

My newest purchase. She's a bad mama jama.

Episode 22: Sushi Rolls & First Dances01 Nov 202500:53:56

Close your eyes for a moment and think back on all those times throughout your time out in the wild where Bond has appeared in your life. And now, think specifically of those less than overt Bond moments that you have encountered on a daily basis. Was there a 007 sushi roll on the menu at the restaurant? Did you happen to stroll down Bond Street today? Maybe your waiter at that sushi restaurant had a name tag labeled "Lupe" ? I know I've had plenty of those experiences over the years where my senses are drawn to Bond related things and places. The synapse connections in my brain get fired up when I have that sensory reaction to a Bond related word or item. Have you had the same experience before?

Episode 24: Reflections on a Bond Screening21 Nov 202500:50:21

The Goldeneye 30th Anniversary Weekend is in the books! If you weren't able to attend, let me recap the details about this action-packed day that drew fans in from across eight Northeast states to celebrate the joyous occasion. It was filled with a lot laughs, great conversation, good cigars and booze, and a hell of a 35mm screening. Most importantly, it was filled with new friendships and introductions, rekindling old relationships, and just enjoying the company of your Bond brothers (and sisters!).

More importantly, the weekend opened up the conversation of the future of our community. Who should be raising their hand next to help our community grow the number and variety of events that we can regularly take part in? You should! Join me as I reflect back on this epic Bond experience.

Episode 25: Operation: COLD TURKEY26 Nov 202500:23:52

One year abstinence from ANY Bond movie. Will I make it? Why am I doing this? Let's break it down...

Episode 26: Best/Worst Bond Posters (Part Deux!)08 Dec 202501:09:53

The conclusion to my Best/Worst Posters conversation with the one and only, Chris Morales (aka That One Bond Guy). Surprisingly, we had a lot of agreement on those posters that belong more in a dumpster fire outside your multiplex than on your wall.

Have a listen and see if you concur!

Episode 28: First Year Wrap-Up Show! (Season Finale)31 Dec 202501:10:22

It's been an incredible year at Idiot Bond Fan and in the world of James Bond 007. Never when we launched back in January did I think it would all amount to this. Event host, website moderator, award nominee, regular contributor and collaborator, Bond friend; I don't know how I've found time to sleep, but it's been very personally rewarding.

In tonight's first year wrap-up show, I'll discuss all the incredible highs (and some defining challenges) of becoming a new voice in the Bond Fan Community. We'll cover some of the highlights in Bond news across 2025 and things we can look forward to in 2026. But most importantly, I'll shower you all with my appreciation and gratitude for helping me launch this journey. Here's to an incredible year to come as a Bond fan!

Episode 27: When Things Turn...26 Dec 202500:37:51

Spin the wheel (or turn it if you will!). Every Bond actor has had it...that moment when their time as 007 expires. There are some commonalities to explore here, a few conspiracy theories, and a financial overview of Bond salaries that makes no sense whatsoever. Let's explore when things turned for each actor, and what if anything, we can learn about how things may play out in the future for the next one.

Special Episode: Finding Bond in all the wrong places...30 Jan 202600:37:12

Have you found Bond in your travels? As I travel for work during my busy season, I think back on all the instances where I was in random places that brought Bond to the front of my mind. And no, not in the obvious places like your local martini bar. But more those places where any other human being would not see a Bond connection...except for you. Have you had those moments in your travels? I certainly have.

Special Episode: 00 Home Decorating! (Yep, that's right : )20 Feb 202600:45:00

How can you incorporate James Bond into your home decor, furnishings, artwork, and design? Well, I'm in the middle of doing just that, so I'm your perfect source of inspiration on this one. Another insanely, unrelated Bond topic (subjective of course) to discuss on this special episode tonight: finding those moments in production design, set decoration, and even in title art and procuring pieces for your home that draw inspiration from the Bond films. You'll be surprised how many opportunities there are to do so that you haven't considered yet!

Episode 31: Reimagining the Bond Theme (Season Premiere)17 Mar 202600:31:39

Season 3 has finally arrived! New topics, new surprises, and new guest stars. Tonight, I'm thrilled to welcome the award-winning Billboard Top 10 recording artist, Kendra Erika, who just released her newest album "License to Thrill." And thrill it does!

This bold new musical venture features ten complete reinterpretations of Bond classic theme songs, with love to Bond fans, from a self-described Bond fan. We'll discuss the inspirations behind the arrangements, her Bond history growing up, and what makes this album stand out from all the xerox covers that have come before.

Stream this fantastic new collection of music on all major platforms now and stay tuned for upcoming tour dates around the globe to hear Kendra's sultry and seductive voice reinvent the wheel in the best way possible when it comes to Bond music. You won't be disappointed.

Episode 33: 20 Year Casino Royale Reflections06 Apr 202600:35:31

Twenty years...wow just saying that out loud is crazy. I remember where I was the day I saw Casino Royale in the cinema for the first time. And I also recall the uneasy, confused, and slightly annoyed feeling that it left me with all those years ago. But Casino Royale grew on me, year by year, and has risen in the ranks to top of my Bond favorites. Looking back, it's been quite a ride. And I'm excited to celebrate this phenomenal entry this year.

Bait & Switch Episode: My Take on Bait!06 Apr 202600:16:49

Did you take the Bait? (The show) And my bait and switch...

Here's my short little take on Bait, the new Amazon limited series staring Riz Ahmed. I enjoyed it. I watched it. And here's why you should too.

Episode 36: BOND XL - Big & Tall25 May 202600:45:32

Living a Bond lifestyle and enjoying those sartorial moments is fun right? Well, it's also a challenge for the overwhelming majority of not just the fan community, but the male population overall that struggles daily with height, weight, and body-type challenges. Whether due to genetics, metabolism, stress, or nature, so many of us are unable to add ready-to-wear Bond pieces to our wardrobes due to a whole host of factors. And it's time we talked about why....

What has worked for me in "living a Bond lifestyle" and what hasn't? I'll share some personal anecdotes about struggles I've dealt with on a daily basis in having those personal style moments. And perhaps, you already know what I am talking about. Bond inclusivity for all is my motto and should be the standard.

Episode 35: Do Your Bond Homework!04 May 202600:32:44

Book reports, senior thesis paper, class presentations...you name it, I incorporated Bond into it growing up. And as I think back about the countless assignments I included 007 references, clips, or citations in, I realize looking back that it was more than just about sharing my Bond passion with my peers. Presenting Bond as an educational tool, whether as a student or teacher, is just another way of schooling those not familiar with our favorite secret agent and furthering the fandom. Here are are a couple of ways I have done it over the years, consciously and subconsciously.

Episode 34: Stealing Thunder - "First Light Song Reaction"19 Apr 202600:37:46

We got a new Bond theme song this week...sort of. The new title track for "First Light" was released (along with the last significant marketing push for the game) literally hours after the CinemaCon Amazon MGM presentation. Coincidence or deliberate? I'll debate the theory tonight and give you my impressions on the new song. In addition, I'll discuss how the strategy behind IOI Interactive's debut of "First Light" should be something that the film folks are paying significant attention to. Listen and learn.

Episode 38: The Truth about the 007 Store15 Jun 202601:08:50

Most of us Bond fans have a love/hate relationship with the primary retailer for all 007 related merch. We have complaints, we have qualms, and we have horror stories in many cases. But, most of us sit with our concerns and don't vocalize them out loud...particularly in content form. Well, I'm here to speak up for all of us. Let's talk about all the e-com shop where the fast majority of Bond fans do their 00-shopping. You may learn some things you didn't know before, and perhaps (doubtful) leave this episode cutting the company behind the store a little bit more slack than you did prior.

Episode 37: STOP Watching Bond Movies!05 Jun 202600:36:47

Cold Turkey Challenge complete, six months of no Bond movies! I'll give myself a small pat on the back for this accomplishment. But the greater accomplishment was having more time to dedicate to the things in my life that matter to me (ready for this?)...more than James Bond. Family, friends, work, and so many more things have taken up my free time getting off the Bond-watching hamster wheel that is constantly on repeat. It's been a success all around.

But would you take a challenge like this? Would you take time off to do other things other than repetitiously watch the same 25 movies that you've probably seen dozens if not hundreds of times? You should...and here's why.

Special Episode: BOND FOMO - Making Hard Choices23 Jun 202600:47:50

We aren't James Bond...sorry it's true! We cannot physically be in five countries on three continents in a two hour period of time. But when we can't be at an event, secure a Bond related purchase, or have to experience the disappointment of hearing or seeing the joy others had when we when missed out, it can be disheartening. It can be down right FOMO.

But fear not, the truth is you don't need to be everywhere, feel obligated to participate more than you so choose, and you can be selective in weighing out the choices around your James Bond fandom. External factors, divine-intervention, and of course the weight of your wallet will factor in. But most importantly, these difficult choices are best made with a clear head and careful consideration. You don't need to be everywhere, do everything, or buy every product. And if you have ever felt the guilt, shame, or just plan FOMO of not being able to do certain things in this James Bond fan world, then this one is for you.
