Mufti Abdul Wahab Waheed was born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI. He began Islamic studies at Jaamiah al-Uloom al-Islamiyyah in Canada where he became a Hafiz at the age of 11. He started his 7-year Shariah program in Toronto, Canada, and went even further to pursue higher education of Hadith in Karachi, Pakistan. Throughout his travels, Mufti Abdul Wahab addresses communities across the United States on a wide range of Islamic topics and Inshallah, continues to do so with the Tawfiq of Allah SWT. Mufti Abdul Wahab is a Co-founder at Miftaah Institute and also is a Co-Founder and Director at Michigan Islamic Institute.

Surah Nisa is the 4th Chapter of the Quran. In it's 136th verse, a command is given that states "يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ ءَامِنُوا۟" - Oh you who believe, believe...."
The imperative command to believe gives an insight that iman is something that can be put into practice and not just something that is held as a conceptual conviction. Of the many benefits of this practice of action with belief is the attainment of self-awareness that can lead to contentment, but one needs to first come to an understanding of they believe in before any of it. Join us this Friday as Imam Khalid Latif discusses this verse and examples from the life of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in hopes of drawing light on how we can put our iman into action.

Ammar Abdul Rahman is an educator and Imam. He earned his bachelor degree in Psychology and political science with a minor in human rights studies from CUNY Lehman College. He also earned an associate degree is Islamic studies from Ghana where he studies under several Islamic scholars. Ammar taught 3rd grade in public Charter schools in NYC for three years before joining the Interfaith Center of New York. He also teaches Islamic studies and Quran to young Muslims and encourage them to be critical thinkers and civically engaged. Ammar is currently a Deputy Imam at Masjid Al-Haram USA in the Bronx NY.

Anxiety is something that so many people wrestle with day to day. As with so many things that impact us and those around us, we find examples of how the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, supported those who struggled with the debilitating impact that anxiety can have. In today's khutbah Imam Khalid Latif will look at the following hadith as a basis for how we can learn to support others who struggle with anxiety the way our Prophet did.
Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, entered the mosque one day while a man from the Ansar named Abu Umamah was there. The Prophet said, “O Abu Umamah, what is the matter that I see you sitting in the mosque while it is not time for prayer?” He said, “O Messenger of Allah, I am compelled by anxiety and debts.” The Prophet said, “Shall I not teach you a word to say by which Allah Almighty will relive your worry and complete your debt?” He said, “Of course, O Messenger of Allah.” The Prophet said, “Say in the morning and evening: O Allah, I seek refuge in you from worry and sadness. I seek refuge in you from weakness and laziness. I seek refuge in you from cowardice and miserliness. And I seek refuge in you from being overwhelmed by debt and the tyranny of men.”

Shaykh Yahya Rhodus is the Founding Director of Al-Maqasid, an Islamic seminary whose vision is to facilitate the realization of Islam, Iman and Ihsan through immersion in the Prophetic Inheritance. The concept of Al-Maqasid emerged from his own journey which began at the traditional school of Murabit al-Hajj in the desert of Mauritania shortly after his conversion. His path of learning then led him to the acclaimed school Dar al-Mustafa in Tarim, where he received instruction from the renowned scholar and spiritual guide Habib Umar Bin Hafiz. After graduating from Dar al-Mustafa and returning to the United States, he studied in a number of academic institutions, culminating in a PhD in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Cambridge, England.
Shaykh Yahya believes in the necessity of building sound educational institutions that effectively nurture the realities of Islam in the lives of believers so that they can reach their full potential as human beings. He has dedicated his life to teaching and helping others put their knowledge into practice in order to benefit themselves and humanity. In the spirit of what he has learned from his teachers, Shaykh Yahya is committed to a holistic approach to religious life that considers the various dimensions of health and is embedded in love, mercy, knowledge, purity of heart, remembrance of God, good companionship, and concern for all of creation.

Shaqeeq Ibn Ibaraheem said:
“The doors of success have been closed upon the creation because of six things:
1) Their busying themselves with the blessings of Allah instead of thanking Allah for them,
2) their desire for knowledge while they abandon actions,
3) the hastiness to sin and delaying repentance,
4) the deception of having righteous companions and not taking them as examples,
5) the turning away of the dunya from them while they chase it,
6) and the approach of the afterlife towards them while they turn away from it.”
