Graham Stanford is an interesting and intriguing storyteller. He may be new to The Land of Enchantment, but he truly gets the beauty and mystery of this wonderful state. After falling in love with New Mexico, he moved to Albuquerque at the beginning of 2023 to start the city's premier tango school, Puerta al Tango.  He's lived and traveled all over the world, and is now putting down roots here in New Mexico, bringing traditional social tango with him.

There's nothing we love more and than a New Mexico origin story. Carlos and Paul Meyer grew up near Albuquerque, the oldest and youngest of nine siblings. Together they wrote an award winning New Mexican graphic novel called Under the Cottonwood Tree. They are now expanding that world with an animation project called Greñuda. We're excited to welcome Dakota Weiss, renowned chef, to the podcast. Dakota has opened 4 restaurants in New Mexico in the last 2 years and she's planning a fifth!

After being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2021, Dakota and her partner Rich decided to move to Santa Fe, New Mexico to be closer to her family. Dakota took on the role as Executive Chef at the famed Coyote Café. Noticing the lack of fresh Seafood restaurants in Santa Fe, Dakota and Rich started up Catch Santa Fe Poke Co in the Summer of 2022. Since then they are the Buttermilk Restaurant Group LLC. They now have The Notorious P.O.K.E (Sawmill Market), Frenchie’s Dips and Tots (Sawmill Market & The Railyard), Dakota’s Pop Parlor and Capitol Coal in Santa Fe!

In anticipation of another amazing Anne Hillerman book coming out later this year, we decided to re-release her episode of the I Love New Mexico podcast from 2023. Stay tuned for a new episode with Anne when her next book launches in 2024. 

Anne Hillerman is an American journalist from New Mexico, and a New York Times best-selling author. The daughter of novelist Tony Hillerman, she continued her father's series of Joe Leaphorn-Jim Chee novels following his death, adding officer Bernadette Manuelito as a full partner in solving the crimes. Anne Hillerman is a guest Bunny has been so excited to have on the show. She is a fellow author, creator and New Mexican! Anne shares her story of following in her father’s footsteps while also creating her own legend through the written word.
