Ep. 173 | I Finally Watched... A Star Is Born (2018)10 Apr 202301:09:55

We are not talking about the 1937 version nor the 1954 one, we are discussing the 2018 Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga version of A Star Is Born! And as many versions this film does have (Because I'm pretty sure it has more) this one made both David and Alain cry in the first 20. minutes, and yes, while unexpected, I also did not expect that THE song plays so soon in the film! A tale as old as time... A Star Is Born (2018)

Ep. 171 | I Finally Watched... The Guest27 Mar 202301:01:15

Alain finally watched The Guest (2014) We decided to do this film in honor of Lance Reddick, who passed recently. We remember him for The Wire, Fringe, Lost, and most recently John Wick! Thanks Lance for giving us entertainment with your talent and skill, you will be missed! The Guest is an odd film that the critics love! But maybe we have some critiques OR maybe we are being too harsh!

From Thor: Ragnarok to Edgar Wright's Hot Fuzz and many many more, Point Break (1991) has been a pop culture icon and someone's favorite film since conception and though there are many flaws to this movie, it's a fun ride when watching and the late Patrick Swayze is incredible alongside Keanu Reeves style of acting! Ep. 160 | I Finally Watched... The Lookout09 Jan 202301:07:15

Joseph Gordon-Levitt thrived in the mid-2000s and he was great at being the leading man! We miss him, where did he go?!

The Lookout (2007) is a great example of his strength of being a lead and this movie is quite something! (In a good way) Can you believe this film was almost directed by David Fincher?! One of many things we talk about on todays episode!

There's a surprise at the very end for those who listen through! ;)

Ep. 157 | I Finally Watched... Eyes Wide Shut26 Dec 202201:39:22

Our annual Christmas-But-Not-A-Christmas-Movie presents the best Christmas movie, Eyes Wide Shut (1999). Fun for the whole family, this movie brings the true meaning of holiday spirit, sex cults, prostitutes and more! On a more serious note however, this movie is a Kubrick classic and it's weird as hell! Starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) is a tragedy disguised as a comedy and we think that's what saves it the most from being too cuts at times! Our third installment of our Re-Watch Month, Perks might not be as good as we remember, but it might be better! Enjoy!

Ep. 152 | I Finally Watched... Mother21 Nov 202201:15:33

Mother (2009), a film by Bong Joon-ho, has so many twists and turns it'll make your head spin! It's from the director of the Academy Award for Best Picture, Parasite, and if you know the twist in that film... well, that's all I'll say about that! Don't get this confused with the film Mother starring Jennifer Lawrence, NOT THAT FILM!

Ep. 151 | I Finally Watched... The Man From Nowhere14 Nov 202201:02:03

Originally titled, Ajeossi, The Man from Nowhere(2010) is a fantastic film that is high energy and fast paced! We tried to compare this Korean action thriller to some American films like Taken or Man on Fire, but nothing quite fit, this is in a league of its own!

A quiet pawnshop keeper with a violent past takes on a drug-and-organ trafficking ring in hope of saving the child who is his only friend.

Episode 150 is here and we watched Oldboy (2003)

Piece of advice, this movie is extremely hard to find, but don't settle for the 2013 Spike Lee version (it sucks) go out and buy Oldboy (2003) its not for the faint of heart but it's well worth it!

Ep. 149 | I Finally Watched... Halloween III: Season of the Witch31 Oct 202201:09:18

Happy Halloween from I Finally Watched... Here is our review of Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)

No Michael Myers this Halloween, but we have something better! Low production budget and bad effects with cheesy acting and lame story plot... sorry, did we say better?

Ep. 148 | I Finally Watched... Scream 224 Oct 202201:23:06

It's that time of year again! That time where we review the next Scream movie! Scream 2 (1997) is an awesome follow up to the original Scream movie where we get another twist on the serial killer genre! Joining us for this one is Dino and Jenny Favara, Alain's good friends from high school! Dino has his own podcast and you can check it out here --> https://bio.link/dino

Ep. 147 | I Finally Watched... Poltergeist17 Oct 202200:56:46

Poltergeist (1982) is a classic horror film, but what we didn't realize is that its nothing like The Exorcist or more like The Exorcist lite... Steven Spielberg can put whimsy on anything even if he doesn't direct it first hand! Nonetheless we enjoyed this very much... How much?? Listen and find out!

Ep. 146 | I Finally Watched... You’re Next10 Oct 202201:04:13

You're Next (2011) has been one of the funnest times I've had in awhile watching a horror film! It really turns the horror genre on it's head and is all around a fun watch! We hope you have fun listening to our enjoyment of the film as we talk all about the plot, characters, moral decisions and behind the scenes stuff about this movie!

Directed and edited by Adam Wingard, written by Simon Barrett and starring Sharni Vinson, Nicholas Tucci, Wendy Glenn, A. J. Bowen, Joe Swanberg, Barbara Crampton and Rob Moran. The plot concerns an estranged family under attack by a group of masked assailants during a family reunion.

Ep. 145 | I Finally Watched... The Lighthouse03 Oct 202201:11:34

This is possibly one of our most recently released films we've ever done, but our rule is at least 3 years from release date, so we reviewed The Lighthouse (2019) Batman and the Green Goblin go through mental turmoil with each other... or are they the same person?? Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe bring you a horror/drama like no other! Directed by the guy who brought you The Witch, Robert Eggers

Music by: jessejacethomas.bandcamp.com

Ep. 144 | I Finally Watched... The Evil Dead26 Sep 202200:55:36

The Evil Dead (1981) is a stand alone film that spawned a whole lotta movies. Not to be confused with its slightly more popular film Evil Dead 2 and its sequel Army of Darkness. Bruce Campbell at his most serious and Sam Raimi brings it with their feature debut! Without this we would never get Spider-Man or Multiverse of Madness!

Ep. 258 | Vertigo (1958)04 Nov 202400:51:12

The start of Hitchcock Month is now! Welcome to I Finally Watched... month of Hitchcock movies starting with his masterpiece, Vertigo! Enjoy! Our facts might be shaky and our opinions divisive, but we are committed to seeing this through!

No one asked for us to do Super Dark Times (2017) But sometimes you just do something you want to do for yourself... or in this case David's. And well, this is not a horror movie, it is a suspenseful one and a very good film at that I might add!

We also now have a theme song intro and outro in our episodes now, provided to us by the very talented Jesse Jace Thomas, where you can find more of their music at Jessejacethomas.bandcamp.com

Ep. 142 | I Finally Watched... Event Horizon12 Sep 202200:57:20

We are just really milking our sci-fi/horror genre with our newest episode, Event Horizon (1997) It was going to be Friday the 13th, but we'll save that one for next year! Its Event Horizon's 25th anniversary this year and some of the film has held up however, others haven't and we explore mainly the ones that haven't! Starring Laurence Fishburne, Sam Neill, and Kathleen Quinlan. Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson

Ep. 141 | I Finally Watched... Aliens05 Sep 202201:16:45

Which was was better? Which was scarier? Do you even consider this film horror? We liked Aliens (1986) but was it better than the first? An why was Bishop the best character?! We dive deep, like space deep , like cry-freeze 57 years later deep and review this mother of an Alien film! Oh and James Cameron directed this one, not Ridley Scott!

Ep. 140 | I Finally Watched... Alien29 Aug 202200:59:25

A couple of these going on here! 1st of all happy almost spooky month, and here at IFW we like to celebrate early! Consider Alien (1979)a smooth transition to our unofficial Sci-fi run into our horror run starting in September and going all the way into the end of October! We have some very exciting episodes coming up and starting off strong with this one! Enjoy!

Ep. 139 | I Finally Watched... 2001: A Space Odyssey22 Aug 202201:16:08

So many space movies, so little time! 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) in man opinion is height Kubrick and one of my all time favorites! Amazing to come out with something so ambitious a year before humans go to the moon! The movie is a epic science fiction film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick. The screenplay was written by Kubrick and science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke, and was inspired by Clarke's 1951 short story "The Sentinel" and other short stories by Clarke.

Ep. 138 | I Finally Watched... Interstellar15 Aug 202201:35:18

Interstellar (2014) is stellar! It has everything going for it, a great cast, great acting, an impactful and ambitious story, and beautiful cinematography... yeah that pretty much it... I don't have anything to say negatively about the movie at all! Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, and Jessica Chastain... maybe Matt Damon is there too.

Ep. 137 | I Finally Watched... Top Gun08 Aug 202201:03:56

I HAVE A NEED... A NEED FOR SPEED!!!  Maverick, Iceman , and Goose and David and Alain love this film!!! It maybe a little cheesy 80s flick now but slap on those aviators and that super cool jacket Tom Cruise wears in that one scene on the motorcycle and listen to our episode on Top Gun (1986)

Ep. 136 | I Finally Watched... The Boat That Rocked01 Aug 202201:02:58

Pirate Radio or The Boat That Rocked, call whatever you like, but it doesn't stop it from being an awesome film with a great cast! Like a lot of things from Britain moved to the US of A, it becomes a little less awesome and this is what happened to The Boat That Rocked (2009) It got a title change and about 30 minutes of footage cut from it, also there's a nude scene that got cut too, so point proven!

Ep. 135 | I Finally Watched... The Goonies (ft. Michael Campion)25 Jul 202201:15:38

HEY YOU GUYSSS!!!! We have a very special episode for you today where we talk about everyone's favorite child adventure film, The Goonies (1985) And on todays episode we have a very special guest from Netflix's Fuller House, Michael Campion!!!! We talk to Michael about one of his favorite films and his experience as a child actor and comparing it to these child actors of the 80s!!

Ep. 134 | I Finally Watched... Wet Hot American Summer18 Jul 202200:34:58

This is a cartoon of a movie where there are no rules and lives don't matter, welcome Wet Hot American Summer (2001). Starring Michael Showalter, Marguerite Moreau, Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper and Elizabeth Banks. Two reasons we did this film, 1. It has the word Summer in it and 2. Because its funny!

Ep. 257 | Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)31 Oct 202400:52:30

It's that time of year again, so put out the pumpkin and set out the candy and start up Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers! We begin this story right where we left off of the last, well... not right, right where we left off because they retconned a bunch of stuff from 4, but it's still an enjoyable flick! Don't believe us? Watch for yourself and let us know!! Enjoy and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Ep. 133 | I Finally Watched... Heat11 Jul 202201:13:30

For me, THIS FILM is the juice! AND I've got my head ALL THE WAY UP IT! Jokes aside, this film is awesome and if there was a 6 hour version of Heat (1995) I would watch that and it's pacing would only feel 3 hours long anyways! Starring Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, and a young Val Kilmer!

Ep. 132 | I Finally Watched... Jaws04 Jul 202201:21:26

Finally did it! And honestly I should be put in cinema jail for waiting this long, but I finally watched Jaws (1975) I had good reason for waiting this long! But welcome to July, our summer movie month! Now its and interesting theme this month because while all the films have something to do with summer, it doesn't have to do with summer in the usual way! Here's all of our movies coming up;

Heat (1995)

Wet Hot American Summer (2001)

The Goonies (1985)

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!!

Ep. 131 | I Finally Watched... The Hateful Eight27 Jun 202201:19:29
