| 158. Here We Grow: Psychedelics & Plant-Based Psychotherapy with Lauren Taus (Replay) | 24 May 2023 | 00:56:40 | |
You know we’re all about the shrooms here on HTW, and not just the ones that take you on a trip. But when it comes to other psychedelics and their potential health benefits, it can be hard to get over some misconceptions we have. Most of us grew up hearing “drugs are bad, mkay,” and while many can be—and nearly all without taking the proper precautions—it’s taken a toll on public perception around certain compounds and held us back from some very useful and SAFE benefits. Lauren Taus is a licensed psychotherapist, practicing Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and trained to work with both psychoactive compounds and plant medicines. Lauren leads Inbodied Life, a group therapy practice and she also offers immersive educational programs for clinicians to learn psychedelic assisted therapy and integration in contexts that hold personal healing as essential to effective facilitation. Lauren is a lifelong student, educator and activist. For decades, Lauren’s work has focused on creating aligned, and kind mind-body connections to support complete health for individuals and the collective. She helps walk us through using these potent plants as tools for healing, looking at ketamine beyond the stigma (and where those stigmas may be right), and the potential uses for future psychedelic-assisted therapies.

| 148. Improving Resilience to Stress Through Sound with Dr. David Rabin | 30 Nov 2022 | 00:51:30 | |
Neuroscientist, board-certified psychiatrist, health tech entrepreneur, and inventor Dr. David Rabin has spent more than 15 years researching the effects of persistent stress on people. He’s also the co-founder and CIO of Apollo Neuroscience, which created the first wearable device verified by science to actively enhance sleep, relaxation, focus, and calmness by employing a new touch therapy that sends a signal of security to the brain. As a psychiatrist, Dr. Rabin focuses on very difficult to treat mental illnesses. He has been constantly fascinated by why chronic and intense stress can sometimes make people stronger, while other times it holds us back — even within the same person. Medication doesn’t work for more than half of patients, which led Dr. David to find something else to treat mental illness. We discuss the path that led to that discovery, how it works, and why it’s so important in reducing stress. | 57. Treating Bipolar Holistically with Dr Ellen Vora | 07 Aug 2019 | 00:52:49
Today our guest is Dr. Ellen Vora, MD and Holistic Psychiatrist. We loved our previous chat with her about about anxiety and this time she’s back to speak about bipolar. Ellen says she is here to do something a little bit different than other psychiatrists, which is to help people who either want to manage mental illness holistically and never go on medication in the first place, or work with people that want to do the hard, slow work of getting off it. She shares innumerable tips in this episode, including how upping magnesium intake, keeping blood sugar levels stable and addressing thyroid problems have really helped her patients with bipolar. As with other health issues, diet and lifestyle are key to avoiding or minimizing problems (our key takeaways: aim to sleep like a kitten and step away from the pancakes). We also chat about how psychedelics can be useful for treating a range of conditions but are not safe for people with bipolar.
Special note: If you are struggling with bipolar, depression or any other mental health issues, or if you know somebody that is, help is available at any time on the suicide prevention hotline on 1-800-273-8255.

| 50. Unravelling the menopause mystery with Alisa Vitti | 19 Jun 2019 | 01:02:28 | |
We are thrilled to have Alisa Vitti back on the pod, this time on the magical maddening world of menopause. Self-care makes a huge difference in navigating this journey, but the conversation often goes unaddressed. Alisa takes the time to shine a light on this most important — and often misunderstood — aspect of women’s health.
We talk everything, from when menopause *actually* begins (spoiler alert), to taking care of yourself at every stage of the cycle, and Alisa’s brilliant philosophy that biology always sets us up to be the best version of ourselves. PREACH! And yes, we get into menopause and sex and get Alisa’s take on maintaining libido to enjoy sex at all stages of life.
We love talking to Alisa, as her advice is always super actionable on a personal level. Menopause is not a scary word, we need to talk about it more comfortably. Listen up to hear what we mean!

| 32. Wellness in the Schools co-founders Nancy Easton & Bill Telepan on the Childhood Obesity Epidemic, Teaching Nutrition in Schools, Fitness Education, Holistic Wellness, & #WITSgala2019 | 13 Feb 2019 | 00:57:21 | |
Nancy Easton and Bill Telepan are the co-founders of Wellness in the Schools (WITS), an organization dedicated to teaching kids healthy habits so that they can learn and live better.
One of the reasons we love WITS is that they’re not just focused on improving school lunches, which is a big issue that needs to be addressed but, unfortunately, only a bandage on the childhood obesity epidemic. Instead, WITS is taking a holistic approach to wellness that includes nutrition, physical fitness, and lifestyle education with the goal of improving student outcomes and driving systemic, long-term change – ultimately shifting school cultures and putting an end to childhood obesity.
If you want to lend WITS your support, you can join us at the 12th Annual Wellness in the Schools Spring Gala on April 2nd, 2019 in NYC. You’ll have a ton of fun, eat delicious food, and get the opportunity to further this amazing cause. Even if you can’t make it to NYC for the event, you can still support the organization by bidding on items through Charitybuzz: https://www.charitybuzz.com/support/213.

| 31. Functional Medicine Doctor Dr. Jeffrey Morrison, Author of “Cleanse Your Body, Cleanse Your Mind,” Talks About the Dangers of Heavy Metals | 06 Feb 2019 | 01:01:13 | |
Everybody should be aware of the environmental toxins in our world, but for some reason, there’s almost no one talking about it (even in the health and wellness community). We’re all exposed to potentially dangerous toxins every single day, and if we don’t know where they’re coming from, we can’t do anything to minimize or avoid our contact with them. That’s why we’re talking to Dr. Jeffrey Morrison, a functional medicine doctor and the author of Cleanse Your Body, Clear Your Mind: Eliminate Environmental Toxins to Lose Weight, Increase Energy, and Reverse Illness in 30 Days Or Less. We’re also joined by one of his patients and friend of the pod, Leonard Steinberg, who discovered he was suffering from mercury poison with Dr. Morrison’s help. We talk about the most common heavy metals that you are likely to encounter, what happens when you consume too much of them, and how you can eliminate them from your daily life and body.
Remember, the only heavy metal that should be going in your body is Iron Maiden or AC/DC…(obvi!) so pay close attention to what we cover in this episode...

It’s about ALL the difficult transitions in our lives – and these girls give you all the tools and motivation you will ever need to navigate those transitions with grace.
This one is a whole lot of fun, so settle in for some podcaster-on-podcaster (on-podcaster-on-podcaster) action...

Tero Isokauppila is the Founder and President of Four Sigmatic, a Finnish-American superfood expert and 13th generation farmer who grew up foraging mushrooms and is now bringing their adaptogenic magic to everyone. Mushrooms are among the most studied things in the world – and from every breath you take, to your favorite fermented beverage, to the pharmaceuticals that save our lives, mushrooms play a silent but vital role in our daily lives.
The conversation is so often impenetrably scientific or insanely vague that it’s laughable, so today, we get to the root (or mycelium) of things and figure out what’s up with these ancient but transformative gifts from nature...

| 145. Here We Grow: Psychedelics & Plant-Based Psychotherapy with Lauren Taus | 19 Oct 2022 | 00:53:35 | |

| 26. Dr. Will Cole, leading functional medicine expert and author Ketotarian, on how to get the powerful benefits of a ketogenic diet with a more plant-based approach. | 02 Jan 2019 | 00:53:16 | |
Dr. Will Cole is a leading functional medicine expert who consults patients around the world via webcam and locally in Pittsburgh. Dr. Cole was named one of the top fifty functional-medicine and integrative doctors in the nation, and is the author of the book, Ketotarian, in which he melds the powerful benefits of a ketogenic diet with a plant-based one. It’s time to seriously rethink how we approach preventative care for chronic illness. Hint: it starts on your plate. A carb-restricted diet has come a long way since Dr. Atkins started touting steak and eggs as the breakfast of champions. We’re happy to report there’s now room for veggie lovers at this table, and Dr. Cole breaks it down for us in simple to understand terms.
There’s a lot to unpack in order to understand how ketones play a role in your health. We’re totally starting a band to play at wellness summits called the Ke-Tones…. Here's some of what we cover in the episode: · Dr. Cole started early in the healthy lifestyle game as a kid--they were drinking the Kool-Aid around his house before it was Kool. Um because his dad was Mr Pittsburgh…please just listen for details.
· He breaks down the difference between conventional and integrative medical practices. It gets kinda nerdy but it totally makes sense why we’re stuck in this hamster wheel of western sick care.
· Can we put an end to this whole “detox myth” crap? It’s simply not enough that our bodies are BUILT to eliminate toxins naturally—we actually have to give them the fuel in order to do so. So that Bloomin Onion is not really going to find its way out of your system without a little help…
· Ketogenic + Plant Based come together to make Ketotarian, the perfect combination. Like peanut butter and chocolate…as long as it’s keto chocolate and almond butter.
· Ketotarian is about getting the benefits of ketosis in a more sustainable way. Avoiding vegetables because you’re afraid of the carbs is NOT the way to do this properly. So onion lovers, rejoice! We’re talking to you, Zoe’s mom…
· He breaks down a few days worth of food in the Ketotarian diet—there’s more there than you think! And it’s tasty. Organic wines can enhance ketosis…after eight weeks. Settle down, it’s time to detox before you retox. | 25. Tenoverten co-founder, Nadine Abramcyk talks clean beauty, starting with our hands and feet. | 19 Dec 2018 | 00:57:06
We sat down with Nadine Abramcyk, co-founder of Tenoverten nail salon to talk non-toxic beauty and how her original idea to elevate the NYC manicure experience evolved into something much bigger. We should also mention that Nadine was a week away from giving birth during this episode…and her nails looked great.
· We start with the story of Tenoverten and then zoom out to clean beauty in general. Almost immediately, Zoe gets on her soap box about how toxins are in everything, specifically, chemical flame retardants in our furniture, infant car seats, etc. Somebody get this girl aCBD lolly.
· Like all great ideas, Tenoverten was born out of necessity. If you want a beautiful, non-toxic mani-pedi experience that doesn’t break the bank and takes the environment into account, ya gotta do it yourself.
· We get to the bottom of this new cryptic language being used across polish brands: 3 Free, 5 Free, etc. 10 Free refers to the top ten toxic ingredients that are NOT in the Tenoverten polish formula. Yeah, we’re lookin’ at you, Formaldehyde.
· Erica is nail shamed after admitting to her former gel habit. Nadine assures her it’s going to be okay and that Tenoverten welcomes recovering gel addicts who want to start over – they call their gel removal process nail rehab. Erica is 90 days clean.
· We discover that TSA is a pain point for Zoe. She opts Out of “that cancer machine” every time she goes through airport security. Erica wishes she could opt out of traveling with Zoe. #MyBodyMyChoice.
· Know this: Manicure is Meditation
| 24. Carly de Castro of Pressed Juicery, the retail darling of the tidal wave of green juice, on how their roots in a broom closet have kept them grounded. | 12 Dec 2018 | 01:01:57 | |
Carly de Castro is a seasoned health and wellness advocate who started Pressed Juicery with one mission in mind: to make high-quality, nutrient-dense products that were convenient and accessible. After working a stressful career in film publicity in New York that was beginning to take a toll on her health, Carly moved back to Los Angeles and reconnected with childhood friends Hayden Slater and Hedi Gores, who both had similar revelations, and the trio founded Pressed Juicery in 2010. With zero formal experience whatsoever, they launched a business that has maintained its staying power and is still kicking ass. It can be done. Hear how Carly and her partners have navigated sometimes scary waters and maintained their position as retail darling of the juice biz and managed to find balance and harmony within the partnership as well. It’s kind of a juicy fairy tale. After a brief discourse on potty training and Zoe’s theory on birth order and behavior, we got down to business.
· Carly’s path was not always wellness-forward. But when her Mom got sick while Carly was living in NYC and she started spending time taking care of her, Carly was learning to understand food-as-medicine and she herself getting super healthy, juicing. She did a BluePrint cleanse a few times (thanks, Carly!) but was surprised to not see anything like it locally in LA. She started making it at home for her mom and the seed of an idea was planted.
· After such an intense experience caring for her mom, Carly realized that LA was calling her back, and away from NYC. She decided it was time to harness the power she was feeling from her new health regimen and figure out how to share that power with the locals. The question was just how. Seeing BluePrint at Whole Foods in Tribeca made her realize it was indeed possible to do, and it brought her to tears. Us too!
· She teamed up with two friends who shared a similar vision for bringing wellness to the masses. The plan was there was no plan, just a drive and a passion and a healthy dose of hustle.
· A broom closet with a whopping 22 square feet was their first location. You can imagine investors drooling over their amazing revenues per square foot. They’ve since expanded to spaces that can hold actual people AND cleaning supplies—over 70 locations. Press on, gang!
· Pro tip: If the health department tries to pull some permit shizz and shut down your business, it’s super helpful to be pregnant when you show up in their office.
· Pricing their juice was a crap shoot that paid off. They didn’t have a magic formula, but the goal was to democratize juice and price it so that everyone has access to it. Their membership program was born out of this vision. So much birthing.
· Another discourse on the state of the healthy food market. Fun fact: we all love Paleo Puffs. We bought a shit ton of them at Erewhon, however did not find the much hyped Coconut Girl ice cream sandwich. Erica is still pissed about this.

| 23. Digestive health expert Robyn Youkilis talks about the importance of gut health and following your intuition. She is the author of Go With Your Gut and Thin From Within, and the founder of health coaching practice, Your Healthiest You. | 05 Dec 2018 | 00:57:01 | |
Poor gut health stalls fat loss, creates hormonal havoc, leaves you feeling exhausted and zaps your overall health. Health coach and author, Robyn Youkilis gives us hands-on, easy-to-implement strategies to restore our gut and become abundantly healthy. We talk about emotional eating and how to reconnect with our bodies – hint: this involves not only nourishing but actually listening to your gut; It is after all, your second brain. Robyn is the perfect mash up of health expert and your good-advice-giving girlfriend. She talks about fermentation just as easily as she talks about flatulence. It’s all good. No need to be embarrassed, folks. Here's some of what we covered with Robyn: · Here we go again with the gut health! We just can’t talk about it enough and neither can Robyn Youkilis. We have so much in common! · The first thing we clear up is that, despite her last name, she is not Greek—she’s Jewish. Zoe thought she was going to have a new Greek BFF, but, alas. · Hippocrates – also Greek – said all disease begins in the gut. Good thing it’s only thousands of years later and we’re just now revisiting this point. Geez. · We talk about how 90% of your serotonin – your brains happy hormone – is produced in YOUR GUT. · Should I eat that cupcake? Robyn would answer: What’s your gut say? We would answer: Robyn, if it’s, say, our birthday, can’t we just eat the cupcake and stop listening to that backseat driver? Just for today. · She explains how to ferment your own veggies – it’s super easy. Promise. · We cover emotional eating and how at one point, Robyn could not have a jar of peanut butter in the house. She’s since let PB move back in and they’re now getting along great.
| 22. GT Dave is the ORIGINAL gangster, king of kombucha, the Founder and CEO behind the iconic GT’s Living Foods who created the company while he was basically still in diapers. | 28 Nov 2018 | 01:00:35 | |
GT Dave is the Founder & CEO of GT’s Living Foods, the maker of GT’s Kombucha. Family owned & operated since 1995, the #1 selling Kombucha brand has stayed true to the sacred, authentic brewing process - handcrafting small batches with 100% raw & organic ingredients. His mission: To help people live happier, healthier lives. His inspiring story of healing started with his family and paved the way for the empire he has built today, and if he isn’t the nicest and most down to earth emperor you’ve ever met, we’ll eat our hats. GT’s story began in his parents’ kitchen, when the new agers that they were started making their own funky tea, which turned out to have played a major role in his mother’s fight and ultimate victory over cancer. His personal story has been one of both joy and heartache, and the brand he created with his own two hands is a reflection of the amazing dedication and focus that he has had since he was a kid. Also he showed up to meet us with a full sleeve of tattoos from the totally rad Halloween party he had just hosted. They were temporary, however, so ironically this was perhaps the only time in his life he did not commit to something 150%. You’ll hear from a true wellness O.G. on how he turned his family’s passion and their own health journey from sickness to health into a reality bigger than anything he could have imagined. From the humblest of beginnings--he did his best Doogie Howser as a 15-year-old in a suit with a briefcase and peddled his wares straight into the iconic Erewhon Market in LA--to a more recent spiritual journey he had, which gave him all the confidence he needed to grow, expand and eventually rebrand to bring his vision to its full funky glory. Here's some of what we covered with GT: · GT’s first exposure to kombucha was through a friend of his parents--she came back from the Himalayas with a culture, and shared it with GT's father who then brought it into the household. It made everyone just feel good, and his parents were instant fans. They started to drink it religiously and went from one batch to two to seven batches. Basically they started getting all cultural at home. · Life at Beverly Hills High for GT was less Kelly and Donna, more Andrea Zuckerman and her library friends. **Those born after 1990 please google all of the above, including the word “library.”** His parents’ early prototype of this mysterious fermented tea used to sit on the dining room table and burp and bubble and fart to any lucky passerby. Social life was a bit of a challenge, to say the least. · As they watched his mother’s miraculous progress in her fight against cancer, he convinced his parents that there was something to this burping beauty and they should make a real go of it as a business. To which they replied, we have jobs—your move, kiddo. And so it began. · He started the business out of his parents’ kitchen, and with laser precision he painstakingly labeled every bottle, sold every order and set up every new account himself. Actually himself and the two alternate personalities he created so that folks would take him seriously. · He considered himself barefoot and pregnant at the inception of the product—he was so invested and so willing to just go for it that he made the decision to not go to college, but to jump in with both feet and build a business, with his parents’ blessing. Wow, they really were super cool watching their barefoot and pregnant son. · To this day he considers himself a helicopter parent over his baby—this metaphor just keeps giving. He wants to make sure as it grows up, it goes to the right school and doesn’t marry the wrong dude. See above, “Dylan McKay.” · A quick lesson on Ayahuasca—it’s not a drug, it’s a medicinal preparation of a plant and a leaf. And powerful medicine at that—GT got a message during his ceremony that validated his work and inspired his rebrand, including a new name. Zoe then very generously tried to sell him the trademark to her own name, just in case. We’ll follow up on that at a later date. · As part of the new vision, he acquired CocoKefir, a similar business that started with a healing story and ended with a success—CocoYo was their love child. Groovy. · Like us, GT has watched the category he created grow and thrive, and then get infiltrated with some less-than-authentic coattail riders. We agreed that as much as brands must do the work to offer the information, the responsibility lies also with the consumer to educate themselves and understand the brands that are authentic (AHEM!) vs the ones that are just copycats.

As the first and leading on-demand massage company, Zeel delivers wellness benefits to customers nationwide through innovative technology and the power of massage – in as little as an hour. Yes, that means the masseuse comes to YOU – table and all. This game changing wellness-tech company is not Samer’s first rodeo – he is a true entrepreneur who has a long list of successful businesses under his belt. But they weren’t all successful from the beginning. We learn how Samer has navigated some almost-out-of-business moments and why he pivoted when he did. We can all take a few pages from Samer.
Oh, and you’ll get $20 off your first Zeel massage when you have a listen and use the code HTWZEEL at checkout.
You’ll learn how Samer negotiated some very sticky situations while building his business and why he suggests NOT staying married to your original idea. He reassures us that ideas should evolve and that is a good thing – it does not make your fist idea wrong. It’s Samer on strings! OK, so he studied violin for 12 years and went to school for chemical engineering, but that’s not the only reason we love this self-professed data geek. We love him because his humble nature and lack of ego allowed him to course-correct businesses that were on the verge of failure and get them back on track by letting them evolve into what they were meant to be. Zeel did not start off as an on-demand massage company, but that’s where it is today, and it’s crushing it.

| 20. FACT--85% of your immune system is in your gut. (!!!) Sharon Brown, Founder of Bonafide Provisions, shares how healing your gut can change your life, and how bone broth is the #1 best place to start. | 14 Nov 2018 | 00:58:47 | |
Sharon began her journey when she healed her son from chronic health issues using real food and bone broth. Sharon believed that the healing power of bone broth should be available to everyone and, so, Bonafide Provisions was born. Now the #1 selling frozen bone broth in the nation, it was born out of necessity in this incredible mom of three’s relentless search to heal her child without drugs. You’ll learn for the first or the thousandth time just how critical it is to have a healthy gut, and the incredibly easy way to get on the path immediately. Equal parts boss lady, nutritionist, and badass mother hen, Sharon is a wealth of knowledge and breaks down the science behind gut healing in simple and inspiring ways. Here's some of what we covered with Sharon: · After watching their son struggle for years with health issues that then translated into problems in school, Sharon knew it was time to take matters into her own hands. Exhaustive research led her to discover the centuries old practice of drinking bone broth for good health. She rolled up her sleeves, and tapped her chef husband (LUCKY!) and together they became bone collectors…not like that.
· She saw powerful and immediate results in her son, which inspired her to pursue nutrition more formally to spread the gospel, hallelujah.
· An ancient proverb says “A good bone broth can resurrect the dead” It can also make for an amazing podcast episode.
· Here’s a great visual to explain the mind-gut connection—it starts in utero, when one piece of tissue splits and becomes the gut and one becomes the brain—they live together like Siamese twins in your body. So when you even THINK about speaking in public and then get butterflies in your stomach, that’s the wonder twins at work. Bone broth = twinning!
· We learn why NYU is now offering FREE MEDICAL SCHOOL. Yes, you heard right.
· So if bone broth is such a magical remedy, why doesn’t your doctor tell you about it? Two reasons: Western physicians have LESS THAN 40 hours of nutrition study in their entire field of study, so food therapies are simply not top of mind for them. Plus, you can’t patent bone broth, but you can patent a pill, and the pills peeps are the ones paying doctors better than their salaries.
· Sharon breaks down the various ways that bone broth works its magic in your tummy, including all its different nutrients and what they do. Nerd alert—this stuff is fascinating.
· Hippocrates said all disease begins in the gut. Good thing it’s only thousands of years later yet most of us are still in the dark on this one. Sigh.
· Bonafide is the #1 Frozen broth nationwide—so they’re actually, like, BONA FIDE. Genius.
· Stock from concentrate is NOT the same as bone broth. Go straight to the freezer if you want the real deal. If it ain’t frozen, then be like Elsa and let it go.

| 19. Nicole Centeno, Founder of Splendid Spoon, on ancestral eating, intermittent fasting and building a business from soup to nuts | 07 Nov 2018 | 00:58:27 | |
Intermittent fasting is our modern-day way of mimicking ancestral eating, where intentionally creating these stressors makes us more resilient and helps us heal on a cellular level. We sit down with Nicole Centeno, a French Culinary Institute–trained chef and the founder and CEO of Splendid Spoon to discuss it all, from soup to nuts. We both love soup. In fact, it might be the very thing that’s held this relationship together after 17 years. So, when we met Nicole, or as we lovingly refer to her, Dame Spoon, we were excited to have another cook in the kitchen. Nicole is amazing because she is one of the few people who enjoys geeking out about the power of food as medicine as much as we do. And she makes a killer Ikarian stew. Also you’ll learn how to pronounce Ikaria.
If entering into a state of ketosis has left you in a state of panic, you’re not alone. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to understand whether or not we should be eating like cavemen, not eating like Kate Moss circa 1997, or just focusing on plants, like, well, just about everyone these days. Here's some of what we cover: · Nicole did a bit of studying in college and learned how ancestral eating and antient fasting rituals were used to treat people with epilepsy. · Ancestral eating is how we ate when we didn’t have the crazy abundance of food we do today. #Snacknation · In caveman days, if you binged on a pint of ice cream you would probably slip into a very long nap…and then you would wake up dead, because another animal ate you. So, if we’re not smart about what we eat – we’re probably not passing on our genes, ya know? · We get into all of it: industrial farming, intermittent fasting, lectins, Blue Zones, dirt smoothies. …what?! You haven’t heard of dirt smoothies?! · We also learn how Nicole, within 2.5 years: started a business, had a baby, got pregnant with the second, ended her marriage and wrote a book. Not bad, Nicole. Not bad. But did you do it all in heels? Psh. Thought so. SPECIAL OFFER FOR LISTENERS! Enjoy $20 off your first Splendid Spoon delivery with the discount code splendid.to/htwpodcast. Founder and CEO Ben McKean built his plant-centric, nutrient dense empire, Hungryroot, amidst an overcrowded meal kit delivery category. Learn how he navigated having to shut down his business for 6 months during a major growth spurt. Don’t call it a comeback. Here is some of what we covered with Ben:
--Ben came to this town with a spiralizer and a dream. Budding entrepreneurs: This episode is for you!!!
--He gets into the inner workings of Hungryroot and what it really takes to run a successful food and beverage company. Hint: “You can’t fuck up with food.”
--His two older brothers told him he “knew nothing about business.” And in true youngest child fashion, he proved them wrong by starting not one, not two, but three very successful businesses by the age of 32. Nah nah, na nah nah.
--He built his empire around plant-centric food delivered to your door, but he tells us that sometimes, all he really wants is to Netflix and chill with a deep-dish pizza and the Obamas. “Everybody’s got a dream!” Or is it: “Everybody’s gotta dream”?
--He may or may not pivot and get into politics at some point. Black Bean Brownie Batter for President! (Would be a lot easier to digest than our current situation) www.hungryroot.com @hungryroot
