How to Stop Stuttering by Affirming Your New Way of Speaking
Private Intensive Coaching: https://thesmoothspeechsystem.com/coaching
- - How are you? This is Michael Williams. In this session, entitled How to Stop Stuttering by Affirming Your New Way of Speaking, in this session, I'm actually going to give you the very first part of that daily protocol, that daily routine that we talked about in the last session. So if you haven't watched the last session, I want to encourage you to go back and watch it, OK. So in this session, How to Stop Stuttering by Affirming your New Way of Speaking, we're gonna talk about the very first step, the very first activity, that you use in your daily routine, your daily protocol. And if you recall, we said that having a daily routine something that you do every day, helps to create and to strengthen those neural pathways, those neurological connections between your brain cells that is represented in and represented by the way that you speak, and the way that you think, and the way that you act. Right, that's what this boils down to. So the first activity, the first thing that you do, is you affirm your new way of speaking. What do we mean by affirm? One of the first things that you do, in the morning time, is you wake up, and before you leave your bathroom, preferably as you're waking up, and we'll talk about why briefly, but definitely before you leave your bathroom, most people go to the bathroom first thing in the morning. You wanna do this in the morning when you're fresh. You want to affirm your new way of speaking. In the pro90d speech systems, in our mobile self-study, we actually give you a set of affirmations that you can say to yourself that literally rewire your brain, that help you to change your mindset. It's not just something you do once or twice. You do this every day, and you experience resistance to it because you have a current mindset that anticipates you're gonna get stuck, that anticipates you can't introduce yourself, or that you're get stuck on this word or this letter, or you can't speak up in this situation. You have these current patterns of thinking. So what do we have to do? We have to replace them with new ones. And one of the ways, not the only way now, but one of the ways that you do this is by affirming a new way of speaking and a new way of thinking. And you do this every morning? Why in the morning? In the morning, it's because your brain has less activity going on. So as you come out of sleep, beta, alpha, theta, right? As you come out of deep sleep, and you go into alpha state. Alpha state is where you're awake but you're really relaxed. Beta is when you're wide awake so there's a lot of brain wave activity. You really want to do these affirmations when you're in the alpha state. You're coming out of theta into alpha, so there's less activity, there's less interference in your brain, interference meaning you're thinking about "I gotta do this, I gotta do that, "I gotta drive here, I gotta do," right? So these are the kinds of activity or thought patterns that you have when you're fully awake, beta. But your really want to do this in alpha state, where you're relaxed, and you brain will receive the affirmations easily, and smoothly, and clearly, OK? With less resistance. Now, many, many people forget to do this when they first wake up. So then, I encourage them to do it before you leave the bathroom. Yes, you might be in beta state then, but you're still a little more relaxed than your are later on in the day. You're fresher, you have more mental horsepower. So I encourage you to do your affirmations first thing in the morning, preferably as you're waking up, but if not then definitely in your bathroom before you leave. Remember, in the Pro90 Speech System, the mobile self-study, we give you the affirmations. These have been tested over the years. We give you the affirmations and the formula for creating affirmations, right. There's a very specific formula, in fact there's two, that we give you, and if you don't use the right formula, then you could be saying, like, "I don't stutter anymore." That's not gonna work. There's a very specific formula that we give you in the self-study, in the system, and we give you a set of affirmations that we've seen over the years with hundreds and hundreds and even thousands of clients, that work, that work. So if you're interested in getting that formula and getting those affirmations, then I wanna encourage you to take a serious look at the pro90d mobile self-study. And you can get that on our website, right, it's pro90d.com. Thank you so much for watching this video. Remember that you want to affirm your new way of speaking and your new way of thinking first thing in the morning. Again, this is Michael Williams, and I'll see you in the next session.

How to Stop Stuttering by Visualizing Your New Way of Speaking

How to Stop Stuttering by Visualizing Your New Way of Speaking
Book A Conversation With Me: Private Intensive Coaching: https://thesmoothspeechsystem.com/coaching
- - Hello, how are you? This is Michael Williams. It's wonderful to be here again today. We're gonna be looking at how to stop stuttering by visualizing your new way of speaking. By visualizing your new way of speaking. Now, this is a part of your daily routine, your daily protocol. Remember, this is the foundation. This is the foundation. You have to have a daily routine to build momentum, right, and to simply strengthen those new connections, that new wiring that you're creating in your brain, that is you are building and creating a new pattern of speaking and a new pattern of speaking. You're creating, you're developing, you're learning a new way of speaking and a new way of thinking. And in order to learn something and in order to create a new pattern or new habit, you have to repeat it. You have to build that momentum. That's just how our brains work. Imagine a baby. If a baby were to try to start walking and just did it a couple of times, ah, man, you know what? This just isn't working for me. I'm tired. I'm just gonna lay down and crawl, right? Well then, none of us would be walking. A baby keeps doing it, every single day, and it probably even increases the time that it does it, and it just keeps doing it until finally the muscles develop, the wiring develops that allows that baby to stand up, to balance, and to begin walking. So it's the same thing with you, same thing when you're learning, if you learned, any new languages. You have to do the same thing. You have to keep going until you pass that point where the wiring is there and it becomes automatic. We call this automaticity. Okay, so in this session, we're talking about visualizing your new way of speaking. And again, I used this as an example before, but one of my clients just today was telling me how he had a meeting with a supervisor and what he did, in addition to some other things that we'll talk about in other sessions, is he literally, he said he visualized himself answering the questions and addressing the issues, that is, providing the information in that meeting. He sat and took just a couple of minutes and he walked himself through. He visualized. He saw himself speaking smoothly in that meeting. He saw himself using his hands and articulating and doing various other things and speaking like his model. Then, just before the meeting, when he was sitting in the meeting room, a couple of minutes before the meeting started, he also visualized himself speaking well. He visualized the reaction and the response of his supervisor. What that does is it makes a very powerful mental imprint. In fact, when you visualize something, right, if you do it with great clarity and emotion, what it does is, it's very much like you are actually performing that behavior. So your brain sees it as you actually, and in his instant, it was like he was actually conducting that meeting. Every time he visualized it, it was like he actually was doing it. It was like he was practicing it. So what we're saying is that his brain was firing those same neurons that would be fired eventually when he was in that meeting. Visualizing himself conducting the meeting fired the same neurons as would be fired when he was in the meeting. So it was like he was practicing, he was experiencing it, before he actually did it. So a part of your daily routine should be to visualize yourself introducing yourself, conducting meetings, giving presentations, going through an interview, having conversations. You visualize yourself doing this every single day. 'Cause if you do it, it's like actually experiencing it. It's like pre-experience. Does that make sense? Extremely powerful, extremely powerful, and it works. Now, you can't just do it once. You have to do it continuously. Everything is about repetition. It's about repetition. So today, we talked about how to stop stuttering by visualizing your new way of speaking. This is Michael Williams, and I'll see you when? In the next session.

How to Stop Stuttering by Listening to Instructional Audio Daily
Private Intensive Coaching: https://thesmoothspeechsystem.com/coaching
- - Yes, it's great to see you, this is Michael Williams. Today we're going to talk about how to stop stuttering by listening to instructional audio everyday. How to stop stuttering by listening to instructional audio everyday. This is a part of the Pro90d speech system. It's a part of your daily routine your daily protocol and it's very important and I'm gonna tell you why. It's important that you listen to audio everyday because what you're doing is you're priming yourself, you're priming yourself with new information. What do I mean by that? Everything that you and I experience, everything that we listen to, everything that we see, everything that we taste, that we smell, that we touch, that we think about, that we talk about, is imprinted in our brains, right. Makes a mental impression, like literally a mental impression. And so, if you simply allow your senses to take in information without filtering it, then you have less control over the impressions that that information is making on your brain. So, for example if you listen to and you watch things that are negative, things that are discouraging, if you talk about things that are discouraging, if you think about things that are discouraging and negative, you are making mental impressions, mental imprints, and you're reinforcing them, right? And this will, and does, and has had an impact on the way that you feel, on your mindset, on your beliefs, and on your behavior, and your performance. The reason that you and I are the way that we are now, the way that we think, the way that feel, the way that we respond, we act, the way that we speak is because all the things that we've done, and thought, experienced in the past, alright. So therefor, in order to change the way that we speak, specially we're talking about speech and the way that we think, we have to change what information we're taking in because this information is imprinting, and making an impression, on our brains. So listening to audio that instructional, that's teaching you something about how to speak differently, how to think differently, how to feel differently, how to respond differently, it's teaching you specific speaking skills, which we'll talk about later, listening to this kind of audio on a regular basis changes your neurology, it changes your neural pathways, it changes your connections and therefor changes the way that you think and speak. I will tell you right now I would not be the person I am today, I wouldn't be speaking the way that I am today if it were not for audio listening. I listened to maybe 10's of thousands of hours of audio, driving to and fro and just listening to so much audio that I made a mental impression of my model as well as I took in the content that I then used to change the way that I thought, it changed the way that I spoke, it changed behaviors. So it's so very important to listen to instructional audio. Listening in many ways is better then watching, not because watching a video or listening to an audio has an advantage over the other because when you're watching something you're taking in through multiple senses. The reason that audio is a little better is because of something that you can do while you're in transition, while you're doing other things, the tendency is if you're playing a video, you have to sit and you have to watch it. But if you're playing an audio, you can do that while you're driving, you can do that while you're working, so you'll consume the content more often. Watching video once or twice or three times is not as powerful as listening to a audio 20 times or 50 times or a 100 times. So a part of your daily protocol routine is to listen to instructional audio everyday. In the Pro90 speech system the mobile self study we give you the audio to listen to so you want to take a look at the Pro90d mobile self study where you'll get the audio to listen to that's instructional. Once again this is Michael Williams thank you so much for watching and or listening. We'll see you next session.

How to Stop Stuttering by Remembering to Breathe
Private Intensive Coaching: https://thesmoothspeechsystem.com/coaching
- - Wonderful to see you. My name is Michael Williams, and this video's entitled how to stop stuttering by doing something very simple, remembering to breathe. How to Stop Stuttering by Remembering to Breathe. Now, if this is the first video that you've seen, I strongly encourage you to go back and start from the beginning of the series so that it makes sense to you. And we should have links in or around this video that allow you to access the whole playlist. It's a whole series of videos, titled How to Stop Stuttering Using the PRO90D Speech System, but each video's labeled or titled individually and this one is titled How to Stop Stuttering by Remembering to Breathe. Believe it or not, many people who struggle with their speech forget to do what? They forget to breathe. Can you imagine that? But it happens, right. They're speaking and for some reason, they've created this pattern or habit of not breathing fully, rhythmically, regularly, right. So they've forgotten. And there are times where they will breathe regularly, and their speech will be smoother, but there are often times where they are anxious, sometimes even when they're not anxious, they'll just forget to breathe. They've created this bad habit of not breathing fully when they speak, okay. So, one of the things, and this is basically a skill that you learn. We don't focus a lot on breathing, but it's critically important, right. One of the things that we teach you is how to breathe more fully, more rhythmically, and in fact, I used to call this what we call reverse swimming. So you imagine when you're swimming and you take x number of strokes, right, and you come up, and you take in air, and then you hold that air, and you go down, and as your swimming, you're allowing some of that air to come out. Take a certain number of strokes and then you come up, right, you take in more breath, and you continue this pattern, this cycle, this rhythmic way of breathing. So I call it reverse swimming because when you're speaking, you're gonna take in air and then while you're exhaling, you're speaking, so you're speaking on the exhale. You don't take in a breath, let it all out, and then speak. You take in the breath and like a balloon where you're releasing a little bit of air at a time. So imagine blowing up a balloon, then you hold it, then you let it up. Then you see the balloon slowly going down. So as you breathe, you breathe in through your nose, you fill up your diaphragm which would look like your stomach expanding like a balloon. You fill up your diaphragm, you don't have to fill it all the way up but you breathe in, you allow your diaphragm to fill up, then as you're speaking you're releasing just enough air to vibrate those vocal chords and allow the sound, to allow the words to come out to be heard. So you have to remember to breathe while you're speaking and to breathe through your diaphragm and not in your chest to get all up in here. Right, in your chest. Or to try to just speak from here. You want to make sure that you're breathing in deep down into your diaphragm and that you're releasing enough air on the exhalation. So I've literally watched some people take in air, let most of it out then speak and then they run out of air. They stress out their speaking system because they don't have enough air. Air is what gives you your momentum. Air is what gives you the power to speak. So sometimes you just have to take a deep breath, let it out. And then continue to speak. You take in air, you let it out, then you take in enough air to be able to speak. You don't take in air, let it out and start speaking with no air. You gotta have air. But sometimes you take a deep breath, let it out, take in another breath and begin to speak. Sometimes you don't have to take that deep breath. You just take in enough air to fill your diaphragm just enough where you have to have just enough air in there to be able to speak smoothly. To have the power and the momentum to speak. So this session what we talked about is your remembering to breathe regularly and rhythmically just like swimming. So while I'm speaking, I'm taking in breath, and I'm continuing to speak on the exhalation and I'm taking in breath and I'm continuing to speak on the exhalation. So you want to make sure that you remember to breathe. And we teach you this in the PRO90D Speech System. So I want to encourage you to take a look at the PRO90D Mobile Self Study so that you can learn how to breathe more regularly and rhythmically as you speak so that your speech will be more powerful. And you won't get stuck and you won't run out of air. Once again this is Michael Williams. Thank you for joining me and I'll see you in the next session.
