How to Cure Horse Ulcers Permanently (Causes, Cure & Prevention)13 May 202500:11:30

Why O why do ulcer prevention products exist?

And did you know that "ulcer prevention" products are simply regular ulcer treatment products, but at a lower dose?

What's up with that?

Basically, they know their "treatments" don't actual fix the cause of the ulcers, but are simply a temporary bandaid.

In my new video, find out:

  • What 3 tips owners can try before calling the vet for ulcers
  • Little known signs of ulcers in horses
  • Why 60-90% of all horses have ulcers
  • What the real cause of ulcers is (and it's not stress)

What's wrong with the backsore or coldbacked horse?02 Oct 202400:15:24

In today's Horse Mysteries Solved podcast, I talk about how horses should NOT be backsore.

Why?

Because their back muscles are at rest while they are standing.

Yes, at rest.

So why do they get sore? And, if sore, why don't they heal?

Hear some reasons and what to do about them.

Are you SURE the Sacroiliac (SI) is the real problem?18 Sep 202400:25:02

80-90% of Sacroiliac (SI) problems are NOT caused by the sacroiliac joint itself.

If the issue was solely the SI joint, then a simply chiropractic adjustment would fix the problem.

Instead, so many horses are in constant SI pain; getting their SI joints injected which sometimes helps, sometimes does not.

And some of them are even being put down for this issue.

It's so sad because it is very fixable.

Find out the three real reasons for SI issues, and what you can do about them in today's podcast.

Suspensory Issues with Your Horse - Why it happens and how to fix it21 Aug 202400:18:03

Have you heard that suspensory ligament "pulls" happen mainly from overuse?

Either you're "riding too much, or doing too much for the horses level, or overdoing a specific movement."

That's wrong.

You need TWO items to be going wrong with your horse in order to have a suspensory pull:

A misaligned leg AND a problem with the liver

Podcast Episode 53: Coughing, Asthma, COPD, heaves, RAO - Why horses get these symptoms and what to do about it07 Aug 202400:21:16

Have you seen horses with asthma struggle to breath? It's heartbreaking.

Today on Horse Mysteries Solved, I share why horses get equine asthma, COPD, RAO, heaves, etc.

All those "diagnosis" are really the same condition: A spectrum of breathing difficulties.

The podcast is not about medications, or diagnosis...it's about why the horses have trouble breathing in the first place. And what you can do about it.

It's not about dust, or pollen, or allergens.

The real cause is talked about in this podcast.

I invite listeners to a new Facebook (temporary) group where I will personally work on posted horses with TBT (Tucker BioKinetic Technique). It's totally free. All I ask is that you post the results, whatever they may be. Here's the link for that if you're interested: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1015695086861298

The Impossibles: Difficult saddle fit25 Jul 202400:09:18

But occasionally I hear, "I've tried everything, but nothing fits my horse. He or she is so assymmetrical!"

This podcast is for you.

I talk about 3 important misalignments in this Horse Mysteries Solved podcast.

There's no other videos out there talking about these items, so you might want to take a listen. Perhaps you'll be able to help your barn-mates as well. 🙂

The impossibles: Conformation10 Jul 202400:16:33

Have you heard or thought these things about a horse?

  • That's just the way she is
  • He's always been that way
  • Can't do anything about how they're built
  • Nothing's gonna change that

In my opinion, many problems blamed on conformation are fixable. They're usually simple alignment issues.

Such as:

  • Weak lumbo-sacral coupling
  • Shoulder too upright or too flat
  • Over at the knee
  • Too straight hind leg (post-legged)
  • and more

Headshaking -- real causes and solutions20 Mar 202400:27:36

Why haven't scientists solved headshaking in horses yet?

They know it's a cranial nerve problem. Yet when scientists inspect the nerves, they can't find anything wrong.

That's because it's a nerve transmission problem, rather than a problem with the nerve itself.

Care for the full explanation?

It's on today's Horse Mysteries Solved? podcast.

Kissing spine -- Part 205 Mar 202400:19:05

If you listened to the last podcast of Horse Mysteries Solved, you know we talked about the true cause of kissing spine in horses.

This podcast is a continuation: Kissing spine Part 2.

The body has multiple compensation layers available to it.

You may be familiar with this straightforward example: when the left leg hurts, the body puts more weight on the right leg.

Besides compensating mechanisms, the body has multiple "backup" systems in place.

In this podcast, I share the body's primary backup mechanism for avoiding kissing spine -- this will be shocking.

Lamenesses that Hide -- kissing spine20 Feb 202400:18:53

I'm super excited about this kissing spine podcast. Why?

Because I just had someone verify my theory!

Weird and wonderful ideas you'll hear on this Horse Mysteries Solved podcast:

  • There is no evidence that kissing spine itself causes pain
  • What could be causing kissing spine? Does the body do it on purpose? Why?
  • Every horse with kissing spine that I've checked has liver issues.

What's really going on with equine kissing spine?

Coffin joints are one of those sneaky issues that cause horses problems, even lamenesses.

We'll talk about two items causing coffin joint problems that everyone thinks of....

Then, we talk about alternative practitioners viewpoints.

Most important takeaway?

That the primary cause of chronic stifle issues is (about 80% of the time).....in the opposite hind leg.

Ins and Outs of SALT07 Nov 202300:15:44

Are you using regular table salt? I hope not.

Typical table salts have been heavily processed, bleached, and heated. This high heat changes the chemical structure of sodium chloride, transforming it into an indigestible toxin.

Up to 80 minerals and essential trace minerals are removed. It also contains chemically engineered anti-caking agents called calcium silicate.

The above information can be found in a simple internet search about table salt.

On today's Horse Mysteries Solved podcast, we talk about the ins and outs of salt for horses.

We cover:

  • What to avoid (blocks)
  • what to use (loose salt)
  • what to do if your horse eats too much salt and/or urinates excessively
  • with fun commentary about what the og septic guy told me

Rider feels crooked25 Apr 202300:06:26

Have you ever felt crooked or cockeyed while riding your horse?

Or where you just can't seem to sit straight and balanced?

We all check to see if our stirrups are even and our saddle centered. But sometimes that doesn't help.

I have three suggestions that might help with this on Horse Mysteries Solved podcast today.

These are:

  • The saddle tree itself being crooked
  • The rider's body is misaligned someplace
  • The horse's sternum can be stuck to one side

All sound unusual, but actually happen quite often.

Talk soon,
Renee

Ear shy11 Apr 202300:06:18

Have you ever known a horse who was "ear shy?"

If you have, you probably also heard the explanation, "That horse must have been ear'rd as a foal. Now he hates having his ears touched."

And also, "He's always been that way."

In my experience, 95% of horses who are ear shy, actually have their atlas (poll) out of alignment. This can cause ear sensitivity.

To hear more about different causes and possibilities --- and how to check for yourself, please have a listen to this Horse Mysteries Solved podcast.

To your success in finding the primary cause,

Horse stuck in stall for 18 months07 Mar 202300:10:15

Have you ever had to rehab a horse using "stall rest?"

Horses aren't generally keen on being stuck in a stall all day.

Think if it was months of stall rest....18 months!

That is the longest I have ever heard of, and I absolutely disagree with it.

The owner involved was doing her best. The vet involved was doing his best. But the whole thing sucked.

Why?

Because no one asked WHY the horse wasn't healing.

They just kept waiting for it to happen.

Once we figured out this horse's key problem, then finally he could heal.

Best to you,

Alligator wrestling14 Feb 202300:07:01

During my career as an equine veterinarian & bodyworker, I have heard a few fascinating stories.

This was a good one. It was the first time I heard a horse described as an alligator.

Listen to the podcast (link below) for the full details.

Short version is the horse could not go straight. Trying to make him go straight turned him into an alligator.

This was because he had no center of balance.

And he had no center of balance because his sternum and pelvic symphysis were misaligned.

For more on why the sternum and pelvic symphysis are similar to the "foundation" of a house, have a listen to this episode.

Antibiotics -- How to Avoid them24 Jan 202300:12:57

Today's podcast is about how to avoid antibiotics.

Why would we want to avoid them?

Well, most antibiotics are toxic to the body, especially the kidneys and liver. And antibiotics kill bacteria--both infectious bacteria and healthy intestinal bacteria.

It is best to think about WHY we use antibiotics, and to start thinking about other possibilities.

We will always need antibiotics for when we or our horses are really sick. But we don't need antibiotics for every little thing, and we certainly don't need them as a preventative -- "Just in case an infection shows up".

I talk about other options for skin scrapes, coughing, nasal discharge, and diarrhea.

Two quick tips for lameness20 Dec 202200:11:21

We have a fairly short podcast for you on Horse Mysteries Solved.

It is "Two quick tips for lameness".

One is a suggestion for knowing when to call the vet vs. when to call the bodyworker (super easy).

The other is how to tell which leg is lame or off or just funky.

I hope you'll find it useful, at least to help your friends with their lame horse.

Oh, by the way, you'll need a rock to put in your shoe. ;)

Best regards,
