| Episode #105 - SHAUN OF THE DEAD // "WHICH VINYLS WOULD WE THROW AT ZOMBIES AND WHICH WOULD WE KEEP?!" | 04 Sep 2026 | 01:47:42 | |
It's Friday and don't we have another wheel spin for you... This week we're keeping it local and working class with greatest zom-com ever, that's right sickos, it's Shaun of the Dead! If you don't mind sifting through 10s of 1000s of quotes you'll find some truly insightful commentary on the message of the 2004 horror adjacent classic from the mind's of Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg. We're talking foreshadowing and call backs of the intelligence and intentional writing style that was perfectly complimented by it's fast paced editing that went on to inspire and inform the genre. We're also talking perfect zombie killing household weapons, including which vinyls we would dash and which we'd save for a late night 4 IN THE FUCKING MORNING sesh after a few cheeky ones down the local pub. Come for the movie talk but stay for Nellie's fan theories and ability to give a 'puddle' depth and after that Anthony has some FUCK YEAH level of facts for you that you may not know yet! So what do you think? Will we decide if Shaun of the Dead is... Spooky or Dookie?
| HRP REVIEW: LEVITICUS (2026) | 02 Sep 2026 | 00:49:54 | |
Not another SPOILER FREE bonus episode! This time we're trying not to spoil Adrian Chiarella's, Leviticus. Starring the incredible Joe Bird from a little horror you may have already heard of, Talk To Me... One! When the FUCK did 'Alice in Wonderland' get old enough to become a mum?! Two! Homophobia is really fucking stupid isn't it?! We talk about the religious hypocrisy in this one and how this tight net community of hate lends it's nefarious nature so perfectly to the horror of Leviticus. Anthony talks about how the director came to the decisions when planning and directing the film in his F##K YEAH FILM FACTOIDS and both hosts delve the deepest they ever have into religion; someone may catch fire in this one folks so tune in. | HRP REVIEW: TEENAGE SEX AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA (2026) | 31 Aug 2026 | 00:33:36
It's time for another SPOILER FREE bonus episode and this week we're talking about Jane Shoenbrun's latest film that has taken the horror community by storm, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, starring every bisexual millennial woman's gay awakening, Gillian Anderson! Without revealing too much we talk about the fantastical narrative and dialogue from this film. How this slasher plays homage beautifully to the slasher genre whilst not shying away from it's problematic roots but not taking it to heart. We briefly compare the style of this to another polarising horror by Shoenbrun, I Saw The TV Glow and how the set design in this film could be the most beautiful part of this already beautiful queer horror. | Episode #104 - SPEAK NO EVIL // "ON THE 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY, IRONICALLY, SPEAKING SOME EVIL?!" | 28 Aug 2026 | 02:01:12
It's Episode 104 and we've officially been doing this for 2 years! We've once again left our Friday movie viewing in the hands of the fates and although we hoped for something light hearted, we were given Speak No Evil (2024), not to be confused with See No Evil Starring WWF's Kane. IYKYK! We can't help but compare this film with it's original Danish version and how the cultural differences and expectations play a part in the demise of the Dalton family. Although the physical scares are not present until the final act this film does an incredible job of making you squirm in your seat. Anthony graces us with his Fuck Yeah Film Factiods and we discover a beautiful kismit moment in beloved bleak horror and ask the question...scrunch or fold? Stick around until the end for the most important question, whether Speak No Evil is... Spooky or Dookie ?

We watched the sixth instalment in the franchise, Insidious: Out Of The Further. | Episode #103 - YOU WON'T BE ALONE // "GROUP MASTURBATION AND COMMUNISM?!" | 21 Aug 2026 | 01:33:06
The witch wheel has been spun and for episode 103 we are talking about Goran Stolevski's 2022 folk tale, You Won't Be Alone. We talk about the way this beautiful haunting tale has stuck with us the past few days and how our feelings have grown and evolved in that time. We touch on our feelings about a slow burn; is day time horror really horror? And even though you aren't "scared", how it still counts under the horror umbrella. After all that jibber jabber, Anthony's FUCK YEAH FILM FACTOIDS full on animorph into some Macedonian folklore and cryptids which really gets us going before revealing whether we found You Won't be Alone... Spooky or Dookie? www.patreon.com/HorrorRoulettePodcast

Whilst discussing the broadening of the critters lore and the 'many faces of Lee'. Anthony discovers that Lin Shaye is intact a nepo baby and Nellie manages to find a deep and poignant message for this campy sequel where the monsters are made from Merkins! Come for the deep space exploration and stay for the gay agenda before Anthony reads through his FUCK YEAH FILM FACTOIDS before we say whether we found 1988's Critters 2: The Main Course... Spooky or Dookie!
| DON'T TALK ABOUT IT! #1 - OUR MOVIE SUBSTITUES FOR AN INTOLERANT AUDIENCE | 12 Aug 2026 | 00:56:40 | |
We begin a new journey and concept on the podcast with the premise that when there is a film we have seen or cannot bare to see and therefore will not give a spoiler free review due to our morals, we turn a negative, into a positive and give you substitue movie suggestions to watch instead of the film we are avoiding. This comes off the back of SHMICE SCREAM SHMAN directed by SHMELI SHMOTH (Yes we are that level of petty we cannot bare to write the films name or director). We discuss Ice Cream Man (1995), The Ice Cream Truck (2017) and Hive (2026) to give you why you should be watchign these films instead and standing your ground. Listen to the first episode wherever you get your podcasts and head over to the Patreon for future episodes of the series. https://www.patreon.com/HorrorRoulettePodcast

The OG wheel spins are back!!! And boy have we missed these!!! For our first spin back the fates have been very generous and gave us the 2000 coming of age horror, Ginger Snaps. Who doesn't love an alagory for puberty where the teenage girl turns into a horny hairy monster? Nellie does that's who! Ginger Snaps captured audiences with it's incredible practical effects and fresh take on the werewolf genre it's easy to see how it has become a favourite for the horror audience. Come for the detailed and inciteful discussion about the film, stay for the over sharing and tangents about Anthony and Nellies own mis-spent youths. And find out whether we found Ginger Snaps... Spooky or Dookie?

| Episode #100 - 100 FEET // "WHY DO YOU CHOOSE THE CHOICES YOU'VE CHOSE?!" | 31 Jul 2026 | 01:44:53 | |
For our 100th episode you gorgeous sickos have put together a monumental wheel of horror films of your choice and have really made us feel loved and appreciated. The fates, on this auspicious occasion for episode 100 have selected, 100 Feet, submitted by Karl (scary_screenreels) starring 00's baddie Famke Janssen and written and directed by Eric Red. A supernatural horror that holds it's era like a badge of honour. We talk at length about the CGI and practical effects in this film that tries to create a modern day haunted house using the genres best tropes but are they effective? And when Anthony reveals his sheer lack of fuck yeah film factiods....(I know it's DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR) We answer some questions, put to us by you wonderful bunch. And don't forget to stick around to find out whether we found 100 Feet... Spooky or Dookie?
| Episode #99 - VACANCY // "LEAST THEY COULD DO IS GIVE US A LITTLE PORN?!" | 24 Jul 2026 | 01:39:31 | |
For Anthony's final birthday wheel spin the fates have chosen Vacancy from 2007, starring Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson, Directed by Nimrod Antal. After getting over the initial shock that Nimrod is a name and not an insult we talk about the plot devices used in this psychological slasher. We get into characters, tensions building and we can't seem to get through a 2000's movie without addressing how shitty all the men are! You come for the wheel spin but stay for tangents, then you'll love it when Nellie introduces Anthony to internet sensation JIMOTHY and who could forget about the fuck yeah film factoids (spoiler alert, we nearly did) Stick around till the end to find out whether we found 2007's Vacancy... Spooky or Dookie?
| Episode #98 - HOUSE OF WAX // "BENT OVER, TIDDIES SWINGING?!" | 17 Jul 2026 | 01:46:26 | |
For Anthony's penultimate birthday wheel spin the fates have graced us with a film of unsung epic proportions. That's right we're talking about, 2005's emo slasher, House of Wax, starring Chad Michael Murray, Jared Padalecki, Alicia Cuthbert and "sweet baby angel"; Paris Hilton. Between our in-depth discussions over character tropes and iconic masked slashers, we managed to tangent off talking about anal cockroachs and getting caught tiddies swinging. Anthony takes the lead with his undying love for this stand-alone film which bares no resemblance to the previous film of the same name and delivers some wonderful fuck yeah film factiods. Whilst Nellie is more critical, talking about the use of CGI in an otherwise stellar film with mostly practical effects. And finally find out whether we found House of Wax... Spooky or Dookie?
| HRP REVIEW: EVIL DEAD BURN (2026) | 12 Jul 2026 | 00:51:18 | |
In this episode of our SPOILER FREE REVIEWS we have Sebastien Vanicek's, Evil Dead Burn. We dive deep into the entire Evil Dead franchise, from Sam Raimi’s scrappy 1981 cult classic to its modern reinventions and spin-offs. With equal parts horror expertise and fan enthusiasm, we compare each entry’s humour, gore, gross out moments and deadites. We continue to discuss Evil Dead Burn's practical effects, highlighting the gruesome makeup, inventive demonic work, and visceral gore that made all the Evil Dead franchsie, standout in horror cinema. Beyond the blood, fire and mayhem, we continue to explore the compelling storytelling at the heart of the film and how Evil Dead Burn balances horror, dark comedy and emotional stakes; while we also examine the evolution of iconic characters and the themes that connect the series. | Episode #97 - THE CONJURING // "BATHSHEBA IS SELLING FEET PICS?!" | 10 Jul 2026 | 01:42:51
We're back for Anthony's second birthday wheel spin on episode 96 and the second fateful pick from the first decade of Anthony's horror fandom is James Wan's 2013 supernatural horror. The Conjuring. Trying our hardest not to call out the Warrens as charlatans, every other sentence Anthony talks about how he believes The Conjuring informed the tones and pace of supernatural horrors to come, while Nellie explains why she finds the film to be souless and shallow. Despite our distaste for the real life Warrens, we do admit that the characters from the film are very likable and the film does an excellent job at endearing us to the ensemble; it sets an excellent tone of tension and payoff and most excitingly, the lore lands well compared to other similar films. After Anthony's hand crafted fuck yeah film factoids and a game of Shag Marry Kill involving, Bathsheba, Annabelle and Valak (highly anticipated we're sure), Anthony and Nellie reveal whether they found The Conjuring... Spooky or Dookie? https://www.patreon.com/HorrorRoulettePodcast

After Anthony's world famous fuck yeah film factiods stick around and find out whether we found Mirrors... Spooky or Dookie?

| Episode #95 - HIM // "HAPPY JUNETEENTH?!" | 19 Jun 2026 | 01:38:05 | |
To celebrate Juneteenth we wanted to spin a wheel that specifically celebrated black horror. The fates have spoken and we, for the first time ever have pulled a film that we covered for a spoiler free review in 2025. THATS RIGHT! We're covering 2025's, HIM. On a second watch we picked up on so much more than we did originally. Upon release, this film received a lot of negativity to which we ourselves could not relate too, between the unsubtle religious iconography and it's frenzied, brutal ending did we still feel the same on the second watch? Come for the detailed movie breakdowns (which we could have gone on for longer) and stay for the FUCK YEAH FIIIIIIILM FACTOIDS Most importantly find out whether we found HIM... Spooky or Dookie?
| Episode #94 - DRACULA'S DAUGHTER // "WHO IS A SEX ADDICT?!" | 12 Jun 2026 | 01:19:55 | |
For episode 95 we decided that we would make a queer pride wheel in honour of pride month. The fates have spoken and we will be covering the 1936 classic, Dracula's Daughter, one of the first films in horror cinema history (or any cinema history for that matter) that is truly considered to be queer coded. We touch on the Hays Code and the ways homosexuality was portrayed and the ways they could get around the strict "morals" in depression era Hollywood. We fall head over heels for Marya and her hypnotic eyes and throw shade on yet another SHITTY "hero" from the 30's. Nellie shares her queer theories whilst Anthony brings his Fuck Yeah Film Factoids before they both reveal whether they found Dracula's Daughter... Spooky or Dookie?
| HRP REVIEW: SCARY MOVIE (2026) | 08 Jun 2026 | 00:35:54 | |
Argh shit son!!! It's another spoiler free bonus episode and this time we're talking about the eagerly anticipated 6th installment of the franchise, Scary Movie. After Anthony confesses his initial skepticism based on love and nostalgia, we get into the enjoyment we both experienced whilst watching, Scary Movie 6. Is it going to change the world? No, probably not! Will it win awards? Of course it won't! But, it did it give us a giggle at some dumb stoner jokes and point fun at our favourite horrors (and least favourite) of the last few years. The Wayans brothers are back and we hope they're here to stay to keep the Scary Movie franchise one we can count on for "the funny". | Episode #93 - HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER 2 // "GASHBOUND: BRAD DOUGLEY 2?!" | 05 Jun 2026 | 01:38:51
Accidentally kicking off pride month with a GORGEOUS queer horror movie featuring everyone's favourite S&M leather daddy non binary diva! That's right the wheels have decided that we're watching, Hellbound: Hellraiser 2! Almost 2 years from our first ever episode, we're finally revisiting one of our favourite horror icons, Brad Dougley; if you know you know. (If you don't know, LISTEN TO EPISODE 1!) The gash is back in a big way sickos as we talk about our favourite practical effects and how much fun we have with this "gooey" film. Nellie's crush on Julia is only heightened by her lack of skin and we agree it's an absolute travesty we did not get more of her. We're jumping in deeper to the lore as we get further into the Labyrinth and discuss how we believe a cenobite is actually created! Stick around for Anthony's Fuck yeah film factoids and another fun game of Shag Marry Kill! Before we decide whether Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 is... Spooky or Dookie?

| HRP REVIEW: PASSENGER (2026) | 26 May 2026 | 00:32:50 | |
(In the voice of Jonathan Davis) "SOMETHING TAKES A PART OF MAY!!!" And what a May this has been so far. After back-to-back scorching hot horror cinema releases, your favourite horror couple enter a scorching hot podcast lair to review the next release of a horror heavy May, the Andre Ovredal directed, Passenger. Discussions about whether we found ourselves submerged in a folklore enthused plot or a soulless drowning of empty characters and jump scares that never lived up to that teaser trailer that had your mum jumping out of her cinema seat spilling her overpriced popcorn. Yeah, we see you and hear you mums! Creativity was certainly at the forefront of this horror being called a “haunted house on wheels”, dash cam fright delights and taking those cute projector and white sheet on the fence cinema evenings in your garden to a new place of fear. Speaking of fear, Nellie divulges in some recurring nightmares about abandonment and Anthony has his shirt off again having been spotted by an elderly neighbour. All this in a SPOILER FREE review, you’re f##king welcome!
| Episode #91 - THE COVENANT // "IS THIS GAYER THAN THE LOST BOYS?!" | 23 May 2026 | 01:28:23 | |
Join us on Episode 91 for a nostalgic journey into Renny Harlin's 2006 teen bop. The Covenant! Is this actually gayer than the lost boys? A group of gorgeous, sexy and homo-erotic teenage boys that Nellie will forever beckon out of the closet. Anthony isn't just questioning his sexuality in this episode but also the sketchy dialogue and the 2006 inappropriate misogyny... Problematic yes, but forgivable? Also yes! We talk about how this film touches on male relationships, father and son but also the bond between friends and how sometimes blood is thicker than water. Trigger warning for anyone who deals with sensitivity around addiction as this episode we are digging deep into this concept. Stick around after a folklore corner and the fuck yeah film factoids to find out whether Anthony and Nellie found The Covenant... Spooky or Dookie? This Friday's wheel spin is brought to you by Johnny from In a Violent Nature, as Ry Barret joins us for the spin, where we pull the Stephen King adaptation, Mike Flanagan crossover, Doctor Sleep. We discuss the rise and fall of Danny Torrence and compare his addiction to that of his father's in The Shining and we can't help but GUSH over a problematic cult called The True Knot. We also talk about how this isn't just a haunting extention of The Shining universe but also a clever alagory for societal conformity. It wouldnt be horror roulette if we didn't take the opportunity to vere off into tangents about the supernatural-esque sequel that never could have been and an out of this world star wars connection. (Shining and The Force is a SEN?) Stay with us for those F**K YEAH film factoids and most importantly, whether we found Doctor Sleep... Spooky or Dookie?
| HRP REVIEW - EXIT 8 (2026) | 27 Apr 2026 | 00:31:42 | |
Enjoy our spoiler free review on the 2023 game to 2026 film adaptation of Exit 8! We discuss liminal space... thats a given. We also gush over how this may be one of the best game to film adaptations we've had in years, the nods to earlier horror cinema and polarising characters that just may be good people with awful decision making skills. So make sure you leave us a comment so you can let us know whether you enjoyed this J-Horror as much as we did.
| Episode #87 - SCREAM // "NELLIE GUSHES, ANT QUOTES SCARY MOVIE... A LOT?!" | 24 Apr 2026 | 01:58:11 | |
It has finally happened, 87 episodes in and the fates have FINALLY given us Scream, so, pressure is on as this is Nellie's favourite film of all time and a comfort watch on top of that. (After 50+ watches she should know what she's talking about) It would seem that between our talks on the meta nature of the film that breathed life back into the slasher genre and talks about those tiny details that solidified it as an instant classic that kept us coming back time and time again, the line between Scream and Scary Movie is a thin vale indeed, as Anthony quotes the latter, continuously. Stay with us for the fuck yeah film factoids and discuss whether we found Wes Cravens, 1996 Slasher, Scream... Spooky or Dookie (oh I wonder what it could be)
| HRP REVIEW: LEE CRONIN'S THE MUMMY (2026) | 18 Apr 2026 | 00:43:40 | |
On this week’s spoiler free review, we’re dipping our toes into the sinuous bodily fluids of Lee Cronin's The Mummy. We get surprisingly emotional with this one as we ask, what happened to Katie? We talk about the family dynamics and this film’s relationship with faith. Sam Rami has clearly influenced not just the look, but the tone of this film. A mystery film mixed with gore and religion sets us up for a wild time. Would it be Horror Roulette if we didn't at least touch on the practical effects Vs CGI? The ‘nudge nudge, wink wink” for this review, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is a butterfly…
| Episode #86 - SHUTTER // "SPIRIT PHOTOGRAPHY WITH MUMLER?!" | 17 Apr 2026 | 01:30:40 | |
This week we are revisiting our ghost wheel with the 2008 remake of, Shutter, starring Joshua Jackson and Rachael Taylor. We have a blast talking about the spirit photography phenomena and invasive photographers too. This film leads us into talking about appalling men and their appalling behaviour and how we're very glad they get what they deserve. The 00's of it all lends itself to the CGI and the filters we see this movie through, and although it's doesn't always make sense it does feel very nostalgic. Will knowing the twist for this one ruin the impact of this film? Or, will we find something more on this watch to keep us entertained as we decide whether it's... Spooky or Dookie
| HRP REVIEW: UNDERTONE (2026) | 13 Apr 2026 | 00:41:19 | |
On this spoiler free bonus episode we are giving you guys our thoughts on the atmospheric paranormal horror, Undertone. A slowburn that relies on your own twisted imagination to fill in the blanks and counts on your curiosity. The sound design and camera shots are simply stunning and incredibly eerie. We've turned into language experts (ironic for 2 people who can barely string a sentence together) as we talk etymology and the origins of nursery rhymes. | Episode #85 - 30 DAYS OF NIGHT: DARK DAYS // "EVERY TIME WE SAY SUBTERRANEAN LAIR, YOU DRINK?" | 10 Apr 2026 | 01:28:33
On Episode 85 we pull our second ever film from the vampire wheel!! (Can someone fact check that please?) To add to that, it's a sequel that Anthony added to his not very Christmasy Christmas wheel, it's 30 Days of Night: Dark Days. During this episode we freely give our opinions and don't hold back on the misconceptions our trailer watch through gave us for this and how is differed drastically from our expectations as well as the tone of the first film. We find ourselves talking about graphic novels and how this matches up as well as the somewhat jarring cast change and character development that didn't quite make sense. But all that just preludes everyones favourite segment, the FUCK YEAH FIIIILM FACTOIDS! Did we find 30 Days of Night: Dark Days... Spooky or Dookie?
| Episode #84 ft. Grave Tone: Horror Podcast - IN A VIOLENT NATURE // "THE BADASS MOTHER F***KING CUCK TREE?!" | 03 Apr 2026 | 01:36:29 | |
On episode 84 we are joined by the wonderful Grave Tone: Horror Podcast (our Canadian besties) and they've bought with them an absolutely BANGING wheel of Canadian horror. The fates have spoken and after much deliberation the fates have chosen In a Violent Nature, an absolute treat from 2024. We talk about how this film single-handedly flipped the slasher genre on its head; we discuss the stark contrast between the beauty of the films compositions to the brutality of our future legendary killer that is Johnny. We'll be discussing the nature of that age old concept, the “cuck tree” whilst comparing our favourite kills… and Anthony tries to get us cancelled... again! And don't be leaving before you find out whether the four of us decide whether in a Violent Nature is... Spooky or Dookie?

During the review we make comparions to some new and old horror and not so horror films. We break down the pesky IMDb synopsis (seriously, someone needs firing over there), the star studded cast and of course picking our favourite bits and not so favourite bits. A new segmant is introduced for our reviews... please enjoy 'Nudge Nudge, Wink Wink', an IYKYK segment for those that got to watch the film but no spilers for those that are yet to see this and any future review. | Episode #83 - PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES // "JANE AUSTEN IS A BITCH?!" | 27 Mar 2026 | 01:40:10
On Episode 83 we decided we didn't want to let international Womens month pass us by without celebrating with a wheel of films heavily featuring strong women. The fates took this opportunity to give us the regency era tongue in cheek zombie flick, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. We'll be talking about the interesting juxtaposition between Jane Austen's original source material and Seth Graham Smith's adaptation. Whether the zombies are an interesting addition to further the plot and themes or does it take away the time we spend with our characters and damage the overall connection. Between the 'simping' Darcy and slimy Wickham, who'd have thought that Mr Collins would be the one we wanted more of? And you have to stick around to hear us talk about the ethics of Darcy before getting stuck into the FUCK YEAH FILM FACTOIDS!!! Will Nellie and Anthony find Pride and Prejudice and Zombies... Spooky or Dookie?

Anthony tells us some fuck yeah film factoids. that on further reflection possibly need further research. | Episode #80 - LEPRECHAUN 2 // "AWL OF THE IRISH IMPRESSIONS?!" | 06 Mar 2026 | 01:39:53
On episode 80, we've pulled yet another classic sequel and will be talking about the Spoofy Horror Comedy thats is, Leprechaun 2. We're talking fan theories, folklore and mythology all being used as clever plot devices. Whilst those things were FABULOUS this was filmed in the 90's so the ableism does leave a bad taste in the mouth like cheap none irish whiskey. The practical effects and creative kills have been ramped up this time, although some of the acting leaves a lot to be desired. Characters and comedy were talking points for all the right reasons for this sequel set to the backdrop of Hollywood. So stick around to find out whether we found Leprechaun 2... Spooky or Dookie?

Bold statements from the off as Anthony proclaims this his favourite film of the year, and understandably so. We're talking about deeply emotional story lines, flawless performances and how Sam Rockwell is the acting version of an auteur (is there a name for that?). We try our best not to give the game away with this brilliant sci-fi horror action film but we can't help but point out the glaring pointing fingers at the society we live in today.
