Without revealing too much we talk about the fantastical narrative and dialogue from this film. How this slasher plays homage beautifully to the slasher genre whilst not shying away from it's problematic roots but not taking it to heart.

We briefly compare the style of this to another polarising horror by Shoenbrun, I Saw The TV Glow and how the set design in this film could be the most beautiful part of this already beautiful queer horror.

It's Episode 104 and we've officially been doing this for 2 years! We've once again left our Friday movie viewing in the hands of the fates and although we hoped for something light hearted, we were given Speak No Evil (2024), not to be confused with See No Evil Starring WWF's Kane. IYKYK!

We can't help but compare this film with it's original Danish version and how the cultural differences and expectations play a part in the demise of the Dalton family. Although the physical scares are not present until the final act this film does an incredible job of making you squirm in your seat.

For Anthony's penultimate birthday wheel spin the fates have graced us with a film of unsung epic proportions. That's right we're talking about, 2005's emo slasher, House of Wax, starring Chad Michael Murray, Jared Padalecki, Alicia Cuthbert and "sweet baby angel"; Paris Hilton.

Between our in-depth discussions over character tropes and iconic masked slashers, we managed to tangent off talking about anal cockroachs and getting caught tiddies swinging.

Anthony takes the lead with his undying love for this stand-alone film which bares no resemblance to the previous film of the same name and delivers some wonderful fuck yeah film factiods. Whilst Nellie is more critical, talking about the use of CGI in an otherwise stellar film with mostly practical effects.

We're back for Anthony's second birthday wheel spin on episode 96 and the second fateful pick from the first decade of Anthony's horror fandom is James Wan's 2013 supernatural horror. The Conjuring.

Trying our hardest not to call out the Warrens as charlatans, every other sentence Anthony talks about how he believes The Conjuring informed the tones and pace of supernatural horrors to come, while Nellie explains why she finds the film to be souless and shallow.

Despite our distaste for the real life Warrens, we do admit that the characters from the film are very likable and the film does an excellent job at endearing us to the ensemble; it sets an excellent tone of tension and payoff and most excitingly, the lore lands well compared to other similar films.

The fates have spoken and we will be covering the 1936 classic, Dracula's Daughter, one of the first films in horror cinema history (or any cinema history for that matter) that is truly considered to be queer coded.

We touch on the Hays Code and the ways homosexuality was portrayed and the ways they could get around the strict "morals" in depression era Hollywood. We fall head over heels for Marya and her hypnotic eyes and throw shade on yet another SHITTY "hero" from the 30's.

The fates have spoken and after much deliberation the fates have chosen In a Violent Nature, an absolute treat from 2024.

We talk about how this film single-handedly flipped the slasher genre on its head; we discuss the stark contrast between the beauty of the films compositions to the brutality of our future legendary killer that is Johnny.

We'll be discussing the nature of that age old concept, the “cuck tree” whilst comparing our favourite kills… and Anthony tries to get us cancelled... again!

After a busy month of March we're fitting in one last spoiler free review of Kirill Sokolov's fun action horror, They Will Kill You.

During the review we make comparions to some new and old horror and not so horror films. We break down the pesky IMDb synopsis (seriously, someone needs firing over there), the star studded cast and of course picking our favourite bits and not so favourite bits.

On Episode 83 we decided we didn't want to let international Womens month pass us by without celebrating with a wheel of films heavily featuring strong women.

The fates took this opportunity to give us the regency era tongue in cheek zombie flick, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

We'll be talking about the interesting juxtaposition between Jane Austen's original source material and Seth Graham Smith's adaptation. Whether the zombies are an interesting addition to further the plot and themes or does it take away the time we spend with our characters and damage the overall connection.

Between the 'simping' Darcy and slimy Wickham, who'd have thought that Mr Collins would be the one we wanted more of? And you have to stick around to hear us talk about the ethics of Darcy before getting stuck into the FUCK YEAH FILM FACTOIDS!!!

We're jumping straight back into the Leprechaun unicorn where Nellie's fan theory on the origins, is starting to look more likely with more examples in the film's cold open.

We discuss our favourite parts such as the practical effects, writing and our not so favourite parts... like problematic casting.

On episode 80, we've pulled yet another classic sequel and will be talking about the Spoofy Horror Comedy thats is, Leprechaun 2.

We're talking fan theories, folklore and mythology all being used as clever plot devices. Whilst those things were FABULOUS this was filmed in the 90's so the ableism does leave a bad taste in the mouth like cheap none irish whiskey.

The practical effects and creative kills have been ramped up this time, although some of the acting leaves a lot to be desired. Characters and comedy were talking points for all the right reasons for this sequel set to the backdrop of Hollywood.

Bold statements from the off as Anthony proclaims this his favourite film of the year, and understandably so. We're talking about deeply emotional story lines, flawless performances and how Sam Rockwell is the acting version of an auteur (is there a name for that?).

We try our best not to give the game away with this brilliant sci-fi horror action film but we can't help but point out the glaring pointing fingers at the society we live in today.
