About My Guest:

Rebecca Sturgeon is a homeopath and volunteer from the UK. She studied part-time at the London College of Practical Homeopathy from 1994 to 1998 and has been volunteering in South Africa for the past 18 years, working in townships, schools, horse sanctuaries, elderly homes, autistic schools, and emergency situations. For the past five years, she has also been teaching homeopathy to African bishops and pastors alongside Dr. Elvia Bury. Sturgeon's introduction to homeopathy came after a car accident, when she was prescribed anti-inflammatories and neck support. She discovered a book on homeopathy, and her experience with it inspired her to pursue her studies in the field. After graduating from LCPH, Sturgeon moved with her family to South Africa, where she initially struggled to establish a private practice. However, she began volunteering her services at a township clinic, where she saw a wide range of patients with various conditions and quickly built up a reputation for her compassionate and effective care. Despite the challenges she faced, Sturgeon remained dedicated to her work and continues to advocate for the use of homeopathy as an effective means of healthcare.

He is now acknowledged to be the world’s leading authority on Miasmatic Prescribing. His particular gift is to combine practical Homoeopathy with profound intuition and the experience of four generations of Homoeopathic prescribers (he often quotes Ancestral Tips from his grandfather's personal clinical journals). His LIVING MATERIA MEDICA imitations for comparison of remedies are rare treats to watch and hear!

Dr. Banerjea is a popular, widely traveled lecturer and has lectured almost

everywhere in the world where Homoeopathy is known.

Despite this hectic international scheduling, Dr. Banerjea together with his brother Joy and wife Janet, plays an active role in the Kamala Banerjee Fund, a charity that distributes milk and medicines to the poor children of Calcutta.

Her first book: A Homeopathic Guide to Partnership and Compatibility is an exploration of constitutional remedy profiles and homoeopathic compatibility. This is the first homoeopathic Materia medica to be sold in main stream bookshops. Rajan Sankaran a world famous homoeopath; wrote the following, though many homeopaths have toyed with this idea, Lalor gives concrete shape to it and uses it to also illustrate more basic ideas of homeopathy.  John Gray author of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, wrote Liz Lalor’s A Homeopathic Guide to Partnership and Compatibility is a useful guide to self-discovery, as well as a help to people understanding how and why they feel so compatible with some people and so incompatible with others. This is a truly inspirational book filled with heart and the possibility of making the dream of true love come to fruition.

Lalor also lectures on the symbiotic relationship between the mental and emotional disturbance, and physical pathology. My role as a teacher is to teach how to listen to the peculiar in the narrative. She has cultivated a divine ancient wisdom meets modern science approach using Homeopathy, a fusion of Swedish, Aromatherapy & Ayurvedic Massage combined with Reiki & Energy Alchemy as the vehicle for ultimate feminine health & spiritual healing.

Homeopathy is such a fantastic offering, the potential to heal is yet to be realized by many, and yet in the last few years it has experienced a huge renaissance & this really lights me up.  I have journeyed deeply over this last year with our medicines, conducted 4 triturations Irish Raven - Corvus Corvax, Sea Eagle Haliaaetus Albicilla, Maria Magdalena, + 1 more &  attended three provings with the Golden Spiral Collective run by Danica Appolline.

I recently journeyed with Alize Timmerman  & a collective of Homeopaths on a Pilgrimage to the Cave of Maria Magdalena in South of France, we embodied & activated the divine energy of this great healer and made trituration, alchemizing a Homeopathic remedy in her honour.

It was a deep initiation for me & I have been working with the healing frequency of Maria Magdalena since allowing me to expand further into Womens healing.

Throwback Thursday Ep 25: Two-toed sloths & Tarantulas - Luke Norland25 Oct 202300:39:55

Luke Norland is an innovative UK homeopath and international teacher who is totally immersed in the Homeopathic way of life – growing up with The School of Homeopathy, founded by father Misha in 1981. He is the author of Animalia - a book that illuminates the Homeopathic themes of 6 animal families through the prism of mythology, mappa mundi, provings, cases and repertory - and the Thematic Repertory – featuring 92 themes to represent complex mental/emotional states – helping to simplify the analysis process of cases with a psychological focus. He has also edited several provings including Choleopus didactylus (Two-toed sloth).

Having first studied classical music in London, his career path eventually brought him back to his roots in the healing arts. He is particularly interested in the active-listening role of the homeopath, providing a space for people to tell their truth and explore themselves free from any prejudice.

Since completing his diploma in holistic massage in 2010, Luke went on to train in sports & thai massage and has been treating patients for a wide variety of health conditions for over 10 years.

Luke has played the French Horn since the age of 10 and see music as having many parallels with the healing arts: most notably the sensitivity and awareness to ‘tune in’, the ability to learn and perfect techniques, recognise patterns and to maintain professional performance standards. His experience working as a Chef has given him an enthusiasm for understanding nutrition and the importance of digestion in maintaining health whilst his work as a massage therapist gives him an excellent grounding in all kinds of musculoskeletal complaints..

Ep 70: Butterfly remedies with Patricia Maher

Patricia Maher HMC MSW  lives in New York City, and  maintains a national homeopathy practice via video technologies. She obtained her Masters in homeopathy in 2006, studying under the tutelage of Louis Klein.   She also has a Masters in Social Work from the City University of New York.

Pat began her homeopathy practice after a long career as a leader of community organizations involved in social change.  After being treated by a homeopath over 20 years ago, she fell in love with the modality and decided to make it her second career.  Because of her background, Pat brings to her practice an understanding of the ways that social conditions affect our health, with a particular concern about the impact of racism.

Pat has been very active in the field of homeopathy. She has published articles in Interhomeopathy , Spectrum, and Homeopathic Links: An International Journal for Classical Homeopathy, and is active in researching and developing new homeopathic remedies with a group of colleagues (www.greatlakesprovings.com/).  In addition to studying with Louis Klein, she has also studied with Jan Scholten. Pat also teaches homeopathy, and has taught at the Baylight Center for Homeopathy as well as on Luminos Homeopathy webinars.   Pat is a member of a group of homeopaths attempting to inspire homeopathy to address racism in its practices.

Pat has also been an astrologer for over 40 years.  Astrology gives her an ability to synthesize information and understand what makes someone “tick.”  Her skills as an astrologer enhance her work as a homeopath and vice versa, since both astrology and homeopathy are languages for understanding who we are and how we relate to the world around us. In fact, the type of astrology she practices — Uranian astrology — was developed by a German homeopath in the 1920’s.  You can find information about her astrology practice here:   https://patriciamaherastrology.wordpress.com/

An amateur naturalist, Pat is an avid birdwatcher, lover of insects, and passionate observer of the natural world and the body politic.  She is also a trainer/organizer with the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond, a national anti-racism organization Patricia's website is here:  http://patriciamaherhomeopathy.com

Throwback Thursday Ep 20: VHS to International online teaching - Susanna Shelton20 Sep 202300:55:52

Before discovering homeopathy, Susanna worked in Medical Research at Johns Hopkins Medical School and the University of Virginia Medical Schools in the USA. Her lifelong interest in spirituality however, led her to Scotland where she completed a postgraduate degree in Theology at St Andrews University as well as postgraduate work at Harvard Divinity School. Midway through her theological training she was introduced to homeopathy. After a great personal response to treatment she decided to pursue formal training in homeopathy with the National Center of Homeopathy (USA) and The College of Homeopathy in London in the 1980s.  Before migrating to NZ in 1991, she established a free children’s clinic in rural Kent and practiced at the South London Natural Health Centre in Clapham where her special interest in perinatal homeopathy began -- many of her clients were pregnant women and she worked closely with birth educators and midwives at that time.

In 1991 Susanna arrived in NZ, began teaching at Wellington College (WCOH), Hahnemann College in Auckland and Bay of Plenty College of Homeopathy (BOPCOH) in Tauranga.  That same year, she co founded a journal for the NZ homeopathic profession: Homeopathy NewZ and set up Selene Homeopathics— to supply quality homeopathic remedies to the profession and community.   She was an editor and co-director of these until 1994 and 1998 respectively.  In the 1990s Susanna continued to practice homeopathy and extend her tertiary education and management skills.

In 1991, Susanna registered with and joined the Executive of the NZ Institute of Classical Homeopathy and was appointed Dean of BOPCOH. She served on the NZICH Exec until 1996 and when the New Zealand Council of Homeopaths (NZCH) was formed in 1999, became an Exec, serving til 2006 and then again from 2009-2012.  She was awarded the Life Membership of the NZCH in 2015 .

In the early 90’s, Susanna established practices in Taupo and Wellington while teaching at WCOH and BOPCOH. From 1994-2012 she served on the NZQA Expert Panel on Homeopathy (which became the Homeopathy Profession Advisory Board in 2008); this group wrote the NZQA Unit Standards for homeopathy and developed the NZQA National Diploma and in 2008 reviewed these and established agreed training standards for the profession.  At BOPCOH she pioneered comprehensive distance education in homeopathy with College founder Greig Follas—initially via VHS, then DVD creating the platform for comprehensive online learning options.

In 1995, Susanna settled in Tauranga, became Principal of BOPCOH. She strongly fostered collegiality between NZ homeopaths and overseas colleagues presenting cases and papers at professional conferences in NZ, Australia and USA.

Susanna led the College to many significant milestones:accreditation with the NZQA; approval by the Ministry of Education (MOE) for student loans and allowances and approval of the College’s Diploma of Homeopathy in Animal Health by NZQA and MOE.

In 2004, Susanna was a guest tutor in homeopathy at Hong Kong University and later that year became owner and Principal of Sydney College of Homeopathic Medicine (SCHM).  From 2004-2008 Susanna was Principal and CEO of both BOPCOH and SCHM and managed the NSW registrations and approvals of the Sydney College during that time.  In 2008, Susanna’s duties re-focused to NZ when she was appointed Director of Operations NZ for Endeavour College of Natural Therapies which includes ongoing duties as Principal of BOPCOH.

From 2012-2020 Susanna took a 'sabbatical' from homeopathic teaching and management. During that time she co-owned and operated a successful VIP Tourism business based in the Port of Tauranga (NZ) catering to International cruise ship visitors.  She returned as Director of the College of Natural Health & Homeopathy (CNHH) in 2021 to help steer the College in its next chapter of growth.

Susanna’s vision for the profession has been and remains, “to have the highest level of homeopathic treatment available to the greatest number of people (and animals); at a reasonable cost to the consumers and a professional level of remuneration to the practitioners”. She sees the College as a key player in this vision as it works with the wider community to make it happen.

Susanna is happily married to Karen.  She is proud co-parent of two successful and happy adult children and has been blessed by the love of many companion animals over the years.  Main hobbies are sustainable food and wine, travel, wellness and following the All Blacks Rugby Union team.
