Another season of Hockey & Hounds returns with John Tortorella and Jason Myrtetus. In the season premiere episode, the duo recaps Training Camp and discuss the excitement for the 2024-25 campaign. This episode, we're finding Missy a new home. Missy is a very social, if lazy, pup. She is very often loose and waggy with soft eyes, but can also be aloof and independent. Missy arrived with matted, dirty fur, so she got a fresh cut. Her hair will grow back, and we cannot wait to see her glow up. She may have had a hard start in life, but she is ready to shine! Gucci Girl is a 9 year old mixed breed pup who was surrendered to the city shelter when her previous family moved out of state, and arrived at PAWS shortly after. She quickly headed into foster care where she has been her loving and spunky self ever since. She is described as "a dream dog," and is an easygoing senior with a heart full of gold, and eyes full of sweetness and soul. Both are seniors at about ten years old; Cody is the small chunk making lots of progress on his weight loss journey and Cobalt is the long and lanky guy. They have been living together since they were each about a year old, and were surrendered to PAWS after their owner sadly passed away in October 2023. In foster care Cody & Cobalt have been described "kind of like an old married couple" due to their chill and mellow natures, and comfortability being around each other while exploring the world around them. Jason Myrtetus concludes the 2023-24 Hockey & Hounds season with Flyers head coach John Tortorella as they discuss the upcoming do-or-die end of the regular season. We also meet Kculli, a survivor of a dogfighting ring who was rescued by the PSPCA in November of 2021 along with 32 other dogs. The majority of these pups have found homes, but Kculli and three other are still waiting. There is nothing wrong with this sweet girl, despite her horrific past. She is a bit shy at first, but she opens up quickly and just LOVES people. She can live with kids, but not other animals.

Jason Myrtetus is joined by Flyers head coach John Tortorella to discuss the team's current situation as they fight for a playoff spot. We also revisit Harriett, a previously featured Hockey & Hounds star still searching for a home. Harriet is the most playful and snuggly girl of your dreams. One of her previous foster parents coined the nickname "Miss Rolly-Polly" for her because after a few moments of pets or scratches she'll lean all ~50+ lbs of her body weight into your legs before flopping onto the floor, with her legs fully splayed into the air and all.

Flyers head coach John Tortorella checks in on current events with Jason Myrtetus, and we meet Daktota, a Siberian Husky who came to the PSPCA with severe eye issues that required their removal. Despite her past, Dakota remains incredibly sweet with her personality shining more and more each day. Dakota is very smart and what she lacks in sight, she makes up for in her hearing and sniff skills! She knows sit and shake. She is very affectionate to handlers especially when they follow her training plan. Dakota is looking for a home that will continue her training and learning. She is open to dog meets. She is looking for a family who can help support these needs.

On the latest Hockey and Hounds Podcast, Torts and Jason discuss the commencement of the April playoff push and are trying to find 'Luke Wilson' a forever home. Luke is an incredibly sweet, and cuddly pal. Understandably, he's been a little cautious and nervous, but as he's opened up his more goofy, and spontaneous side has emerged and we are just loving his zest for life! He even tends to nudge, rub or plop his cute snoot on you to initiate snuggles. Luke is also very sniff-oriented so he'd love to find companion(s) that like to venture into nature so he can enjoy all the interesting smells the world has to offer! He knows the commands "sit" and "stay", but is very eager to please his humans and would be able to pick up more tricks with continued training.

On the latest Hockey & Hounds Podcast, Torts and Jason discuss the playoff push and are finding August, a terrier/pit mix a forever home. August is probably the goofiest, silliest, sweetest dog you will ever meet. He has lots of smarts and like to show off how to "sit" and give "paw". August is a big fan of treats, and toys. He also prefers when people introduce themselves to me with a whole bag of treats, because I deserve it! August would make a snuggly and happy companion for any lucky family. This week we're finding Max a forever home. Max is a 3-year-old German Shepherd. He was rescued in October by our animal law enforcement team along with 5 other dogs who have been adopted. Max is a very smart and affectionate dog. He can be a little nervous at times but loves his handlers. He's a big guy who is very affiliative with people and is open to meeting kids who can respect his size and strength. He's open to meeting other dogs and would probably prefer a low key dog. This week we're finding Cody and Cobalt a new home. Everyone who has fostered these ten year old pups has gushed over their excellent house manners, sweet couch snuggles, and affectionate personalities. Cobalt (all black) is especially goofy and expressive, and is a sucker for games of fetch. Cody (brown and tan) comes off as more reserved at first, but is an expert couch snuggler who isn't shy about plopping a paw in your lap when he's hoping for some love!

While Cody and Cobalt are being placed separately at the moment, they are looking for very similar homes:

Not an apartment building
Cat-free/small-animal-free
