| Pizza #57 | 26 Apr 2023 | 00:04:15 | |
Today on the podcast you'll hear a little of my personal story. When I was 18 years old, I was lucky enough to travel to Italy and live there for six months. But I also wonder if my time spent in Italy was the start of my histamine troubles. I ate pizza and drank beer. That’s it. Every day. Pizza washed down with beer. Okay, occasionally a starter of pasta appeared before the pizzas, but it was mainly pepperoni pizza and beer. Listen in for more! THIS PODCAST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY Are you tired of struggling with unexplained symptoms that seem to have no solution? | Toxins #41 | 15 Jul 2022 | 00:04:16
Sometimes you have to read the small print... 🧐 I've been posting about something quite weird in my stories. My new shorts have pemethrin in them (an insecticide) 😱. I didn't know when I bought them. But then I looked a bit closer at the label. "This textile contains a biocidal product with anti-insect properties. Active ingredient: Permethrin. May produce an allergic reaction." Yup. You can say that again. When I wear them I don't feel so well. What are your thoughts on insecticides like pemethrin, pesticides and other toxins being absorbed through the skin? | Cheese #19 | 19 Sep 2021 | 00:03:05
Let’s talk about histamine intolerance and cheese. Feta is better, but it is listed as medium histamine on the food list on my site. I’ve put particular care into the cheese area as this an area that lots of people ask about. As a basic rule of thumb it seems the more aged the cheese the higher the levels of histamine. So a blue veiny Stilton is absolutely off the chart, but a young mozzarella will tend to have much lower levels of histamine. Feta is softish and many seem to tolerate it, and as always it might have to be something you test.
