| Stephan Sterns Jail House Calls – Call 1: Parents React in Shock to Madeline Soto Murder Charge | 01 Apr 2025 | 00:17:33 | |
In this emotionally raw first jailhouse phone call, Stephan Sterns reaches out to his parents following his arrest for the murder of 13-year-old Madeline Soto. His voice is calm — too calm — as he explains that he’s been moved between jail pods and placed on lockdown, casually mentioning that he missed his mother’s birthday. Then, in a moment that stops everything cold, he tells them about the first-degree murder charge. What follows is a gut-wrenching conversation in which Stephan's parents oscillate between disbelief, confusion, and protective instinct. Stephan downplays the accusations, stating that they’re “artificially inflating” charges. His parents, clearly struggling, begin clinging to logistics — looking for his social security card, discussing paperwork, and mentioning future birthdays he might not be there for. This is the beginning of a horrifying journey. The beginning of Madeline Soto’s story, told from the inside. #TrueCrime #MadelineSoto #StephanSterns #JailhouseCalls #MurderInvestigation #FamilyInDenial #TrueCrimePodcast #JusticeForMadeline #JailCalls Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Ret FBI Counterintelligence Chief Breaks Down The MANY Missteps Of Karen Read AFTER The Death of John That May Land Her In Prison | 01 Apr 2025 | 00:25:59
Ret FBI Counterintelligence Chief Breaks Down The MANY Missteps Of Karen Read AFTER The Death of John That May Land Her In Prison Was Karen Read desperately fighting for her life—or just trying to control the chessboard from behind the scenes? In this episode, retired FBI Special Agent Robin Dreeke joins Tony Brueski to peel back the layers of alleged behavior in the Karen Read case that’s less “legal drama” and more psychological rollercoaster. We’re talking secretive messages, blog-fueled chaos, and a masterclass in what not to do when you're trying to prove you're innocent. According to prosecutors, this wasn’t just emotional flailing—it was a calculated attempt to manipulate the narrative, intimidate witnesses, and turn a courtroom saga into something more fitting for reality TV. But as Dreeke points out, the clues aren't just in the evidence—they're in the personality patterns. Is this a case of someone who simply can’t hit the brakes, or someone who never even saw the brakes to begin with? And what happens when your strongest instinct is control… but everyone starts watching? Did Karen Read’s alleged actions reveal a consciousness of guilt—or just a lifetime of chaos finally catching up? #KarenReadCase #TrueCrimePodcast #HiddenKillers #RobinDreeke #CourtroomDrama #BehaviorAnalysis #TrueCrimeCommunity Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | The Book Donna Adelson Wants Buried And Why | 01 Apr 2025 | 00:32:51
In the upcoming murder trial of Donna Adelson, one of the most unexpected pieces of potential evidence isn’t a text message, a wiretap, or a bank record—it’s a novel. This Is Our Story, written by her daughter Wendi Adelson and published years before Dan Markel’s murder, has become a focal point of legal and public scrutiny. Prosecutors say it reveals motive: the fictional tale of a woman trapped in a marriage she wants to escape, who builds a new life without her husband, mirrors the real-life dynamics at the heart of this case. Donna’s defense calls it irrelevant and dangerously misleading. What’s actually in the book? Why does the State believe it matters? And could fiction help convict someone of murder? This is the story of a courtroom fight over words on a page—and what they might mean in real life. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Psychotherapist Breaks Down What To Expect From Lori Vallow Daybell As New Trial Begins | 01 Apr 2025 | 00:12:32
Psychotherapist Breaks Down What To Expect From Lori Vallow Daybell As New Trial Begins Could a self-declared prophet really be her own best defense attorney—while on trial for conspiracy to murder? Lori Vallow Daybell isn’t just accused of plotting her husband’s death—she’s also decided she’s the right person to argue her own case in court. Yeah, because nothing says “stable and innocent” like cross-examining witnesses in shackles. In this episode, Tony Brueski and psychotherapist/author Shavaun Scott dive into the chilling psychology of Lori Vallow Daybell. From beauty queen and game show contestant to cult follower and alleged killer, Lori’s journey is packed with delusion, narcissism, and a little too much confidence for someone on trial for murder. They explore her manipulative nature, religious delusions, and the disturbing dynamic between her and alleged cult leader Chad Daybell—think less “meant to be,” more “shared psychosis with a body count.” What makes someone truly believe their spouse is a demon and deserves to die? And worse—how do they convince others to believe it too? #LoriVallowDaybell #TrueCrimePodcast #CultMentality #PsychologicalDisorders #MurderTrial #HiddenKillers #DarkPsychology Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Bryan Kohberger Is Betting His Life On A Single Defense Expert Who Wants To Challenge Everything, Will It Work? Is Bryan Kohberger's alibi built on shaky ground? We dive into the controversial expert witness, Sy Ray, whose past phone mapping analysis faced serious scrutiny. A judge questioned the reliability of his methods in a previous case, but now he's central to Kohberger's defense. Was his prior work "a sea of unreliability," and does it impact this trial? | Attorney Eric Faddis Breaks Down The MANY Mistakes Of Bryan Kohberger's Alleged 'Perfect Crime' | 01 Apr 2025 | 00:11:16
Attorney Eric Faddis Breaks Down The MANY Mistakes Of Bryan Kohberger's Alleged 'Perfect Crime' Was Bryan Kohberger just an awkward PhD student… or a meticulous killer hiding in plain sight? From disappearing cell phone signals and Amazon receipts for masks and knives, to rap lyrics and cloudy-night alibis, this episode digs into the mounting circumstantial web tightening around alleged Idaho killer Bryan Kohberger. Former felony prosecutor and attorney Eric Faddis joins Tony Brueski to unravel the prosecution’s strategy and how the defense might counter claims of premeditation and forensic evasion. Is buying a mask and knife six months before a crime just bad timing? Is turning off your phone and changing your plates after a quadruple homicide just "quirky" behavior? And can the autism defense really explain away a mountain of "peculiarities"? Or are we looking at one hell of a coincidence? #IdahoMurders #BryanKohberger #TrueCrimePodcast #HiddenKillers #CrimeAnalysis #Criminology #DarkDetails Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Was Bryan Kohberger Taunting Us With American Psycho Suit & Shower Pic? | 01 Apr 2025 | 00:29:15
Just hours after the brutal murder of four University of Idaho students, suspect Bryan Kohberger allegedly took a mirror selfie — standing in front of a shower, wearing a neatly buttoned white shirt, flashing a thumbs-up. But this wasn’t just any selfie. It was timestamped 10:31 AM on November 13th, 2022 — just hours after the killings, while the victims still lay undiscovered. In this episode, we unpack the chilling parallels between this real-life case and pop culture killers like American Psycho’s Patrick Bateman and Psycho’s Norman Bates. Why was Kohberger’s pose, setting, and expression so eerily reminiscent of these fictional murderers? Was it a subconscious nod, or something far more deliberate — a taunt? We’ll explore the growing theory that Kohberger inserted himself into online discussions under aliases like “Papa Rodger” and “InsideLooking” — commenting in Facebook and Reddit threads about the crime before key details were ever made public. These accounts speculated about the weapon, crime scene layout, and even the killer’s emotions in disturbingly accurate ways. Were these lucky guesses… or was the killer hiding in plain sight, narrating his own crime? We also break down his alleged return to the crime scene the next morning, his suspicious behavior afterward (like wearing surgical gloves and cleaning out his car), and why experts say this may not just be a case of murder — but of calculated performance. DNA on the knife sheath Alleged stalking via phone pings Possible return to the scene post-murder Obsession with control and superiority Disturbing similarities to fictional killers Social media taunting under fake names? Did Kohberger take a digital “trophy”? This is the case that’s captivated the country — a horrifying crime, a suspect with a background in criminology, and a digital trail that might show not just guilt, but ego. | From Classroom to Courtroom: How a Knife, a Balaclava, and a College Paper Are Shaping the Case Against Bryan Kohberger | 01 Apr 2025 | 00:31:27
From Classroom to Courtroom: How a Knife, a Balaclava, and a College Paper Are Shaping the Case Against Bryan Kohberger A college assignment written three years before the Idaho murders is now being treated as potential evidence in one of the highest-profile murder trials in the country. Prosecutors in the case against Bryan Kohberger want to introduce a paper he wrote in 2020, titled Crime-scene Scenario Final, as proof that he had extensive knowledge of how to approach a homicide investigation—before he was ever accused of committing one. This isn’t your average term paper. It’s a 12-page walk-through of a fictional murder scene involving a woman who had been killed with a knife. Kohberger was a grad student at DeSales University at the time, studying criminal justice. And he didn’t just hit the broad strokes—he dove deep. The paper breaks down a step-by-step protocol for securing a crime scene. He describes how officers should block off the area to prevent contamination, obtain the appropriate search warrants, and immediately call in a supervisor, a coroner, and a forensics team. It's written with a level of procedural detail that goes well beyond what most people would expect in a class paper. He also describes the importance of wearing protective gear—gloves, shoe covers, full-body suits—to avoid leaving behind DNA, fibers, or other trace evidence. He specifically writes that “anything that is fiber-free and covers the mouth, hair, and overall body would be helpful in avoiding crime-scene contamination.” That line, in particular, has prosecutors’ attention, given that one of the surviving roommates from the Idaho home described seeing a masked intruder wearing dark clothing—someone who didn’t leave behind any visible trace other than a single knife sheath. And the paper doesn’t stop there. Kohberger details how to identify and collect evidence: swabbing for biological material, photographing everything before touching it, labeling and packaging each item properly. He emphasizes the critical importance of preserving the chain of custody, writing that evidence must be documented, sealed, and tracked from collection all the way to trial. He even covers how to avoid tampering or accidental transfer of evidence between investigators. Then there's a section on canvassing. Kohberger suggests that investigators should talk to anyone who routinely passes by the scene—mail carriers, delivery drivers, neighbors—and establish firm alibis for each of them. He writes, “Where were the neighbors when this happened? Their alibis should be evident and supported.” It’s a sharp line—and when you’re standing trial for killing four college students in a neighborhood where nobody saw it coming, a line like that reads a little differently. Prosecutors say the paper illustrates a mind that wasn’t just educated in theory but highly attuned to the real-world mechanics of crime scene control and investigative protocol. They’re not saying this document is a confession—but they are framing it as part of a larger pattern. And alongside that pattern, they’re placing another seemingly minor but potentially telling piece of evidence: a receipt for a black balaclava. That purchase, allegedly made by Kohberger at a Dick’s Sporting Goods in Pennsylvania in early 2022, is being tied to the account of one of the surviving roommates, who told police she saw a masked figure in the house the night of the murders. Prosecutors say the balaclava matches the description of the one worn by the intruder. Combined with the college paper, the DNA on the knife sheath, and Kohberger’s own background in criminology, the state is trying to paint a picture of someone who didn’t just know how to study crime—he allegedly used that knowledge to commit one. Now, the defense will push back. They’re expected to argue that introducing a school paper as evidence in a capital case is inflammatory, irrelevant, and designed to prejudice the jury. They’ll likely challenge the balaclava link as well, noting that purchasing cold-weather gear in Pennsylvania isn’t exactly suspicious in January. But with the trial set to begin August 11, every motion counts. Judge Steven Hippler is set to hear arguments on April 9, including whether Kohberger’s diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder could be used to argue against the death penalty, and whether jurors should hear the delayed 911 call placed by the surviving roommates—nearly eight hours after the murders. Whether the court admits the college paper remains to be seen. But prosecutors believe it says something about who Kohberger was before he became a suspect. And if the jury hears it, those 12 pages might weigh more heavily than any textbook ever should. #BryanKohberger #IdahoStudentMurders #TrueCrimeUpdate #CriminalJusticeTrial Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Juror Turned Defender: A Karen Read Plot Twist No One Saw Coming | 01 Apr 2025 | 00:25:18
Juror Turned Defender: A Karen Read Plot Twist No One Saw Coming A fired state trooper. A hung jury. And now, a juror turned defense attorney. The Karen Read case just added another chapter that feels more like an episode of Law & Order than real life. Just days before Karen Read is set to stand trial for the second time, a new name showed up on her defense team roster: Victoria George. She's not just any attorney. She's a Massachusetts lawyer who sat through the first trial as an alternate juror—and walked away so disturbed by what she saw, she switched sides. Literally. George filed her notice of appearance on Wednesday. She’s a Princeton grad who earned her law degree from Northeastern in 2020, and according to an interview she did with Vanity Fair, the first trial shook her faith in the Massachusetts justice system. Her words, not mine. "If as a lawyer I was too afraid to stand up for what I believed in, who would?" she said. That’s not just courtroom rhetoric—that’s a real quote from a lawyer who once sat quietly in the jury box, now sitting beside the defendant. Karen Read, 45, is facing charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter, and leaving the scene of a deadly accident after her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe, was found dead in the snow outside a fellow officer’s house in January 2022. Prosecutors say Read hit him with her Lexus SUV during a drunken argument and drove away. She says she’s being framed—and that the real killer was at the after-party that O’Keefe never made it home from. The first trial ended in a deadlock. A mistrial. Jurors couldn’t agree, and frankly, who could blame them? The case was messy, the timeline was fuzzy, and then there was the lead investigator—Michael Proctor. Proctor, a Massachusetts State Trooper at the time, led the investigation against Read. But last week, he was fired. Why? Well, let’s just say his texts didn’t exactly reflect professionalism. In court, messages were read aloud where Proctor called Read a “wack job,” joked about hoping she’d kill herself, and fantasized about finding nude photos on her phone. You don’t need a JD to figure out that’s going to be a problem when your job is supposed to be objective law enforcement. George didn’t hold back when talking about Proctor’s involvement, either. “Based on his own words, he had a pretty strong personal bias against the person in the defendant’s chair,” she said. “How do you ever trust the evidence coming from his investigation?” And let’s be clear—this isn't some PR stunt from Read's defense team. Legal experts are chiming in, too. David Gelman, a former prosecutor turned defense attorney, said this is the first time he’s ever heard of a juror becoming part of the defense in a retrial. And he thinks it bodes well for Read. “Usually retrials don’t go well – that’s why a hung jury is a win for defendants,” Gelman said. “Since the last case, you have an officer involved who has been terminated for bad conduct, evidence will be suppressed that would benefit the prosecutor, and there is more media attention that makes Read look better. The prosecutor has screwed the pooch.” This time, the case will be prosecuted by Hank Brennan—a special prosecutor with a heavyweight background, best known for defending mobster Whitey Bulger. And that’s not the only legal battle Read is facing. O’Keefe’s family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against her as well. But back to George, because that’s the wild card here. She wasn’t some high-profile hire or flashy courtroom shark. She sat quietly, listened to every word, and when the trial ended in mistrial, she didn’t walk away. She switched sides. Karen Read’s second trial starts today (Tuesday). And now, the defense team includes someone who not only knows how the first jury thought—but knows how the system works from both sides of the bar. #KarenRead #TrueCrimeUpdate #MichaelProctor #JusticeInQuestion Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Withheld Evidence & Justice Denied | The Delphi Murders Case Takes a Dark Turn | 31 Mar 2025 | 00:17:28
Withheld Evidence & Justice Denied | The Delphi Murders Case Takes a Dark Turn Was justice actually served, or are we witnessing another case where the system seems to have its mind made up—facts be damned? Richard Allen is staring down 130 years in prison, but with his confession riddled with bizarre, impossible claims (like admitting to killing a grandchild that doesn’t exist), it's fair to ask—was this a real confession, or just the broken ramblings of a man driven to the edge? And why were other potential suspects seemingly ignored despite overwhelming evidence? Psychotherapist and author Shavaun Scott joins Tony Brueski to dissect how the justice system sometimes prioritizes narrative over truth. When prosecutors refuse to budge even in the face of new revelations, is it about protecting their egos—or something far more sinister? #TrueCrime #DelphiMurders #RichardAllen #JusticeSystem #Psychology #WrongfulConvictions #HiddenKillers Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Watch As We Break Down The Full Delphi Bridge Guy Video With Ret FBI Jennifer Coffindaffer | 31 Mar 2025 | 00:22:38
Watch As We Break Down The Full Delphi Bridge Guy Video With Ret FBI Jennifer Coffindaffer Why was it always assumed that the “Bridge Guy” was the killer? In the latest dive into the Delphi case, Tony Brueski and retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer break down the infamous “down the hill” video—only to find that what’s been fed to the public might not be the full truth. Evidence has been edited, narratives have been manipulated, and, somehow, an officer’s unverified opinion became courtroom fact. Was this a case of eager prosecution, or has something much more calculated been at play? As they analyze the footage, one thing becomes glaringly clear: the girls weren’t running, they weren’t afraid, and the infamous “down the hill” line might not mean what we were all led to believe. So why was this clip held back for years? And more importantly—if we’ve been looking at the wrong guy all along, then who really did this? #DelphiMurders #RichardAllen #BridgeGuy #TrueCrime #HiddenKillers #FBIAnalysis #JusticeForLibbyAndAbby Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Did Wendi Adelson Know? Breaking Down the Allegations in the Dan Markel Case | 31 Mar 2025 | 00:29:56
Did Wendi Adelson Know? Breaking Down the Allegations in the Dan Markel Case
Did Wendi Adelson Know? Breaking Down the Allegations in the Dan Markel Case The murder of Florida State law professor Dan Markel was a shocking crime that unraveled into a twisted murder-for-hire plot allegedly orchestrated by members of his ex-wife Wendi Adelson’s family. But despite multiple convictions—including those of hitmen, intermediaries, and most recently her own brother, Charlie Adelson—one question still lingers: Why hasn’t Wendi Adelson been charged? In this episode, we take a deep dive into the allegations, the evidence, and the legal barriers that have kept Wendi free, even as those around her have fallen. We’ll examine the custody battle and family feud that led up to the murder, the suspicious actions and statements Wendi made before and after Markel’s death, and why investigators labeled her an unindicted co-conspirator. We’ll also break down the phone records, the infamous “hitman joke,” and the controversial immunity deal that has made prosecution more difficult. What did Wendi know? Did she actively participate, or was she just a bystander who benefited from the crime? With the upcoming trial of Donna Adelson, Wendi’s mother, new evidence could emerge that finally answers the question of whether Wendi was involved in this carefully planned execution. Could she still face charges? And if so, what would it take for prosecutors to make a move? This is the full story behind one of the most infamous murder cases in recent history—and why it’s far from over. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Is Diddy Secretly Behind False Lawsuits to Undermine Real Accusations? | 31 Mar 2025 | 00:32:08
Is Diddy Secretly Behind False Lawsuits to Undermine Real Accusations Is Sean “Diddy” Combs secretly manipulating the legal system to help himself? In this episode, we break down the shocking lawsuit that initially seemed like a massive scandal—until it fell apart in real time. The lawsuit accuses Maui Police Chief John Pelletier of helping cover up a 2018 sexual assault in Orinda, California, allegedly orchestrated by Diddy. But there’s a problem—Pelletier has ironclad proof he wasn’t even there. His bank records place him in Las Vegas, 560 miles away, on the night of the alleged crime. So why was his name added seven years later? We’re diving deep into the credibility issues surrounding this lawsuit, the lawyer behind it—Ariel Mitchell, who is already being sued for defamation by Diddy—and the growing theory that this case isn’t about justice at all. Could this weak, easily disprovable lawsuit be a deliberate strategy to cast doubt on the other, more serious allegations against Diddy? Is it possible that his legal team is flooding the system with false claims so the real ones get buried in the chaos? From the timeline inconsistencies to the shocking lack of evidence, this case raises far more questions than answers. If this lawsuit was set up to fail, what does that mean for the other cases against Diddy? And if Pelletier’s name was added for show, who’s really pulling the strings? Stay tuned as we uncover one of the most twisted legal plays in modern celebrity history. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Loaded Gun Left on Mantel: Kansas Father Charged After Toddler's Fatal Shooting | 31 Mar 2025 | 00:13:16
Loaded Gun Left on Mantel: Kansas Father Charged After Toddler's Fatal Shooting She was three years old. He was supposed to be the adult. It’s hard to imagine a more disturbing combination of tragedy and negligence than what allegedly happened on the night of February 28th in a small Kansas home. Michael Tejeda, a 25-year-old father, is now facing murder charges after police say his toddler daughter got hold of his gun — and used it to shoot and kill her 1-year-old sister. Tejeda is in custody with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office. He was booked on March 1st, but the newly released arrest affidavit paints a horrifying picture of what unfolded in his living room that evening. At some point that night, Tejeda called 911. On the call, he reportedly told the dispatcher that his 3-year-old daughter shot his 1-year-old daughter. In the background, you can allegedly hear him asking the toddler, “Why she did that.” It's a question that has no answer — and one no child should ever be asked. When first responders arrived, the 1-year-old was still alive but gravely wounded. She was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead just before 9:30 p.m. According to what Tejeda told investigators, the children’s mother had gone out earlier that evening. She left the girls in his care while she was at a friend’s apartment getting tattoos. Tejeda said he fell asleep on the couch while the girls were napping and watching TV. When he woke up around 6 p.m., his loaded handgun — which had been tucked into a "prop" holster in the front of his waistband — was apparently still there. But two hours later, he realized the gun had shifted. He removed it from the holster and placed it on the fireplace mantel — a spot he estimated to be about four feet high. He admitted to police that the holster had no retention, meaning it couldn't hold the gun securely. If it tipped or moved, the gun could fall out. So he placed the loaded firearm, within reach, and then went into his bedroom to change clothes. And that’s when he heard the bang. According to the affidavit, Tejeda said his 3-year-old daughter came running to her room crying. When he asked what happened, she allegedly told him, “It was your gun. I’m sorry.” He rushed back into the living room and found his 1-year-old daughter lying on the couch with a gunshot wound to the head. The gun, he said, was next to her on the couch. It’s the kind of moment that freezes time — but in this case, it also raised serious legal questions. Because as horrifying as it is, none of this appears to have been an accident in the eyes of the law. It was, allegedly, criminal negligence. During the investigation, Tejeda also told police that his daughter had been curious about the gun before. She’d made comments about it. It wasn’t new to her — she’d noticed it. Asked about her day during a forensic interview, the 3-year-old said nothing about the shooting. Instead, she wanted to play. She mentioned getting a Band-Aid earlier, but no more. Whether that was innocence, trauma, or just the way a 3-year-old brain processes something unthinkable… no one can say. The girls’ mother told police she was finishing her tattoos when Tejeda called her. He told her the older girl had shot the baby. She reportedly told him to call 911 and raced home. When she arrived, she grabbed her older daughter, who was repeating that she was sorry. It’s impossible to ignore the gut punch of this situation. A 3-year-old allegedly pulled the trigger, but it was an adult who left a loaded weapon within reach. And that’s what the law is focused on. Michael Tejeda has been charged with first-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, and two counts of aggravated child endangerment. #GunSafety #TrueCrimePodcast #KansasNews #ParentalNegligence Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Karen Read’s Trial Judge Expands Buffer Zone for Fairness As Trial Nears | 31 Mar 2025 | 00:10:42
Karen Read’s Trial Judge Expands Buffer Zone for Fairness As Trial Nears Judge Beverly Cannone has made a bold move in the Karen Read case—she’s expanding the courthouse buffer zone, and not by a little. The new zone now blankets a much wider radius, roping in entire streets like Bates Court, Bullard Street, Ames Street, and Court Street. Why? Because the courtroom isn’t the only battleground in this case—there’s a full-blown war being fought on the sidewalks. With the first trial turning into a circus of protesters, chants, and public pressure, this new order is meant to keep the noise out and the facts in. The Commonwealth pushed for even tighter controls, and while they didn’t get the most extreme version they were after, they did get this: a dramatically larger buffer zone, aiming to build a wall between justice and chaos. Let’s back up and look at what led us here. Karen Read is facing charges in the death of her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe. The allegation? That she hit him with her SUV in January 2022 and left him to die in the snow. But her defense says this isn’t just a tragic accident—it’s a cover-up. A cover-up involving law enforcement itself. The claims have ignited a firestorm. Protesters have become a daily feature outside the courthouse—complete with signs, chants, bullhorns, and heated confrontations. During her first trial, these demonstrations weren’t just noisy—they were disruptive, with allegations that they intimidated jurors and may have influenced proceedings. And in a case where the defense is accusing police of corruption, the optics of off-duty officers mingling with the crowd didn’t help. So now, the court is stepping in hard. This new buffer zone isn’t just a circle drawn on a map—it’s a tactical move to stop the trial from turning into a street performance. But the restrictions don’t end at the courthouse steps. Judge Cannone is laying down the law inside, too. No case-related apparel, no buttons, no slogans. Even law enforcement officers won’t be allowed to testify in uniform. The idea is to strip away the visual politics, the unspoken signals, and the chance that a badge or a T-shirt could subconsciously nudge a juror in one direction. It’s not just about fairness—it’s about the appearance of fairness. And with jury selection scheduled to begin April 1, the pressure is on to make sure that 12 people can sit in that box without being nudged by anything other than the evidence. Because this trial is already on a national stage. Every move, every ruling, every protest sign is being photographed, posted, dissected, and argued about online. The court isn’t just fighting for control inside the courtroom—they’re trying to keep the courtroom from being swallowed by the court of public opinion. Karen Read’s defense continues to claim she’s a scapegoat. Prosecutors insist she’s responsible for O’Keefe’s death. And in the middle of all this, a judge is trying to make sure that a jury can hear a case—not a crowd. With April 1 looming and public tensions boiling, this expanded buffer zone is more than just geography—it’s a last-ditch effort to carve out a space where justice can breathe. #KarenRead #JohnOKeefe #BufferZone #TrueCrime Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Relatives Charged Decades After Widow’s Brutal 1997 Slaying Over $40K Inheritance | 28 Mar 2025 | 00:13:12
Nearly three decades after 81-year-old widow Gerthie Carolina was found savagely beaten and stabbed to death in her rural Oklahoma home, authorities have charged two of her relatives with murder, alleging they killed her to obtain a $40,000 inheritance. According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), the case remained unsolved for 28 years until forensic testing revealed Carolina’s blood on a shoe belonging to her then-17-year-old grandniece, Dakota Davis, who was present at the crime scene in 1997. Davis, now 45, and Carolina’s niece, 81-year-old Carolyn Foreman, were both arrested and charged Friday with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Carolina’s body was found in August 1997 at her home in Sasakwa, a small town of fewer than 200 residents. An autopsy showed she died from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma. At the time, Foreman and Davis told investigators they discovered Carolina’s body around 3:15 a.m. when they arrived to take her to a doctor’s appointment. However, investigators now allege the pair were motivated by a $40,000 certificate of deposit placed in a living trust for Foreman just four months before Carolina’s death. Court filings say Foreman and Davis cashed out the trust days after the widow was killed, believing they were entitled to the money. In the years since, Davis allegedly confessed to killing her great aunt on multiple occasions, sometimes referring to an ax or a machete. Investigators say Davis’ father also told them that in 2001 his daughter admitted “chopping up” Carolina while Foreman urged her, “Hit her again, hit her again,” during the attack. Family disputes were reportedly brewing prior to the murder, including an incident in which Carolina confronted Foreman, accusing her niece of stealing from her bank account. Foreman, who has been married for 51 years and suffers from dementia, was arrested in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Davis was taken into custody in Sacramento, California. Foreman was previously charged with first-degree murder in the 1999 shooting death of a 16-year-old, though that charge was dismissed. Her son was later convicted in that case and is serving a life sentence. Seminole County District Attorney Erik Johnson praised investigators for their persistence in pursuing the case. “This case is a testament to the relentless dedication of these investigators and our unwavering pursuit of justice, even decades after a crime is committed,” Johnson said in a statement. “We hope this brings some measure of peace to Gerthie Carolina’s family after all these years.” Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Breaking Down Bryan Kohbergers Disturbing Patterns Of Behavior With Ret FBI Robin Dreeke | 28 Mar 2025 | 00:08:35
Breaking Down Bryan Kohbergers Disturbing Patterns Of Behavior With Ret FBI Robin Dreeke Did the alleged Idaho killer outsmart himself by studying outdated crimes? Turns out, earning a PhD in criminology doesn’t automatically make you good at crime. In this episode of Hidden Killers with Tony Brueski, retired FBI Special Agent Robin Dreeke breaks down the latest revelations in the alleged case against Bryan Kohberger—who, it seems, may have shopped for murder tools the same way the rest of us buy socks: on Amazon. From buying the exact model of knife used in the slayings (allegedly), to picking up a sharpener—possibly the same item mistaken as a “vacuum attachment” by one of the surviving roommates—Kohberger’s alleged actions continue to paint a picture of someone dangerously intelligent but fatally naïve. Dreeke and Brueski dig into how Kohberger’s alleged digital footprint, online purchases, and attempts to stay off the radar all seem to contradict the kind of wisdom you'd expect from someone with a criminology background. Was he trying to live out a criminal profile he'd studied, like some 21st-century Bundy impersonator with a Prime membership? And if the evidence keeps stacking up like this, what else is waiting to be revealed in his browser history? #BryanKohberger #TrueCrimePodcast #IdahoMurders #HiddenKillers #RobinDreeke #Criminology #DarkCrime Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Could The Execution Of Bryan Kohberger Be Life Streamed, Bob & Tony Ponder The Insanity What happens when the quest for justice collides with our darkest curiosities? In this episode, Tony Brueski and defense attorney Bob Motta dive headfirst into the surreal territory of capital punishment, asking whether we’re inching dangerously close to a society that might just livestream a firing squad. From public executions in the town square to hypothetical pay-per-view death penalties, it’s a chilling reflection on how far we’ve come—or maybe how far we haven’t. The conversation shifts from the spectacle to the serious, examining the mounting evidence in the alleged case against Bryan Kohberger, and the pressure facing defense attorney Anne Taylor. With death penalty debates, strategic legal maneuvering, and questions of basic humanity at the core, this episode doesn’t shy away from the uncomfortable. If the fate of the trial truly lies in one man’s hands, does he have even a shred of grace left to spare? #TrueCrimeToday #HiddenKillers #BryanKohberger #DeathPenaltyDebate #DefenseDiaries #JusticeSystem #TrueCrimePodcast Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Kohberger Want's A Strict 'Dress Code' Enforced At His Trial Why would someone take a thumbs-up selfie the morning after allegedly committing a quadruple homicide? That’s just one of the bizarre details surrounding Bryan Kohberger, whose case keeps getting weirder by the day. Tony Brueski and former felony prosecutor Eric Faddis break down the latest revelations, including Kohberger’s alleged purchase of the exact weapon used in the crime, his eerie social media behavior, and the defense's new motion to prevent victims’ families from wearing certain clothing in court. Could this motion actually work? And with all the damning evidence stacking up, is Ann Taylor now just fighting to keep Kohberger alive rather than proving his innocence? At this point, is a trial even necessary, or are we just watching a slow-motion fall toward the inevitable? #BryanKohberger #TrueCrime #HiddenKillers #CriminalDefense #DeathPenalty #JusticeForTheVictims #CrimeAnalysis Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Watch Karen Read's Vile Statements & Attitude Towards Victim Families & Friends Did Karen Read’s courtroom demeanor just sink her case? The latest courtroom antics of alleged killer Karen Read are raising more than just eyebrows. When the jury's out, she's laughing, chatting, even posing for pictures. But once they're in, it’s all pursed lips and stone-cold stares. Is this just a defense strategy, or does it reveal something deeper? Meanwhile, the prosecution might have more ammo than just forensic evidence—they could use her own demeanor against her. And let’s not forget the defense’s wild theory that’s been playing out like a crime novel: Did a group of cops really beat one of their own and frame her for it? Or is this just the ultimate courtroom gamble that could backfire spectacularly? At the end of the day, is Karen Read fighting for her freedom, or just making it worse for herself? #KarenRead #TrueCrime #HiddenKillers #JohnOKeefe #CourtroomDrama #CrimeTalk #LegalTwists Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Ret FBI Behavioral Analysis Chief Breaks Down Kohberger's Knife Purchase & Selfie | 28 Mar 2025 | 00:21:46
Ret FBI Behavioral Analysis Chief Breaks Down Kohberger's Knife Purchase & Selfie Could a killer really be caught by his Amazon cart? As new evidence trickles—no, floods—into the spotlight, the case against alleged murderer Bryan Kohberger gets weirder by the click. Retired FBI Special Agent Robin Dreeke joins Tony Brueski to break down the latest bombshells, including Kohberger’s alleged purchase of a K-Bar knife, matching sheath, and sharpener... all conveniently traceable online. Because who needs a burner phone when you have Prime? What does it say when the guy possibly planning a mass murder also buys the tool to maintain his blade’s edge? And better yet—does he pack it for the trip, like a toothbrush? Dreeke and Brueski dive into the mind of someone who might be dangerously intelligent—but just not wise enough to outwit modern forensic technology. With his behavior showing patterns of someone more obsessed with methodology than morality, one has to ask—was this just the beginning? Would he have tried it again? #BryanKohberger #TrueCrimePodcast #HiddenKillers #AmazonEvidence #CriminalPsychology #KnifeEvidence #RobinDreeke Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | The Insulin Injection That Sparked a Murder Charge | 28 Mar 2025 | 00:09:41
The Insulin Injection That Sparked a Murder Charge She wasn’t prescribed insulin. And she didn’t need it. But she got it anyway—twenty units, straight to the shoulder, allegedly from her own daughter. It was just before midnight on May 25th, 2023, when first responders arrived at an apartment in Grafton, West Virginia. They were there for a cardiac arrest call. Inside, they found 81-year-old Ethel Moore already dead. Her body was lying on the bed in the back room. Her daughter, 61-year-old Kelly Louise Moore, was there too—on the phone, telling someone, “It’s bad.” She seemed, according to police, more annoyed than distressed. When paramedics asked what happened, Kelly told them her mother’s blood sugar had been high, so she gave her insulin. Not hers, but Kelly’s. Kelly has diabetes and is prescribed insulin. Her mother was not. One of the EMTs on scene told the first cop who showed up, “I think she really killed her.” And that hunch would later be backed up by science. Kelly Moore said she hadn’t been feeling well that night either—claimed her own blood sugar was low, so she went to bed around 8:30 p.m. Ethel, recovering from a recent hip replacement, also wasn’t feeling great. That’s when Kelly said she checked her mom’s blood sugar twice. It was high both times, so she decided to give her some of her insulin. She told police, “I gave her some of my insulin.” The amount? Twenty units. That’s a hefty dose—especially considering Kelly herself, who is more than double her mother’s weight, takes 30 units per dose under her doctor’s care. And her mother wasn’t prescribed any. At all. Police noticed that Kelly seemed irritated throughout the interaction. She mentioned how much her mother was dealing with—arthritis, heart issues, dementia—and that she was the one "elected" to live with her since she was the only sibling not married. She allegedly told cops, “She had all kinds of s— wrong with her.” But on the same day she died, Ethel had called her other daughter in Florida, saying Kelly “wasn’t doing nothing for her.” That daughter called back in a panic, concerned that their mother wasn’t being taken care of. According to the affidavit, Kelly never told her sister that she had given Ethel insulin—only that she’d died, letting the family believe it was complications from surgery. It wasn’t until August 2024, more than a year later, that the medical examiner’s report came back. Cause of death: insulin shock. Manner of death: homicide. After hearing that, detectives circled back to the sister in March. She handed over the death certificate—likely still under the impression this was all post-op related. Then, just last week, police arrested Kelly Moore. She’s now in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail without bond, charged with murder in the death of her mother. Ethel Moore’s obituary paints a very different picture than the cold details in the affidavit. | A Sky Full of Holes: Weather Records Aim to Undercut Kohberger’s Alibi | 28 Mar 2025 | 00:11:34
A Sky Full of Holes: Weather Records Aim to Undercut Kohberger’s Alibi It was a dark and cloudy night—literally. According to records from the National Weather Service, that’s not just a dramatic opener—it’s the kind of detail Idaho prosecutors say could help dismantle Bryan Kohberger’s defense. On November 13, 2022, Kohberger allegedly left his apartment in Pullman, Washington, around 4 a.m., drove a short distance to Moscow, Idaho, and fatally stabbed four University of Idaho students inside their off-campus home. He says he was just out for a drive. A moody, late-night cruise through the Palouse to clear his head and maybe catch some stars. But the government is now pointing to a cloudy, foggy, and unusually cold morning as evidence that his story doesn’t quite match up with the conditions outside. Prosecutors want to introduce detailed weather data into the upcoming trial, pulling from the National Weather Service records in the area during the night in question. And they’ve got expert analysis to back it up. FOX Weather meteorologist Andrew Wulfeck reviewed the observations and found that visibility was reduced due to fog, with low clouds that wouldn’t have made for much of a stargazing experience. Not a blackout-level fog, but enough to paint the night sky with a dull, overcast haze. As Wulfeck put it, “not the greatest night” for a celestial joyride. The timing and purpose of Kohberger’s alleged drive have been a central piece of his defense. In court filings, his attorneys describe a routine behavior—driving in the early morning hours to run, hike, or take in the sky. But prosecutors aren’t buying it, and the weather records could help them argue that the conditions were inconsistent with that kind of activity. Wulfeck explained that temperatures on both November 12 and 13 were lower than seasonal averages, due to a ridge of high pressure in the region. Sky conditions, wind speeds, and even sunrise and sunset times all added up to one thing: a cold, cloudy night with no real celestial action overhead. The nearest weather station is located at the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport—almost exactly between Kohberger’s apartment and the King Road crime scene. That location reported fog and reduced visibility but not enough to cause official alerts. Still, the takeaway is clear: if someone was out that night looking to hike under the stars, they would’ve needed a serious imagination—or night vision. And just to top it off, there was no eclipse, no supermoon, no cosmic event to give a stargazer any real reason to be out there. It was just a dull, gray sky—pretty much the last place you'd want to be if the stars were what you were chasing. This seemingly simple data point—weather—may become a strategic strike in the larger case against Kohberger. Prosecutors are challenging his alibi in court and want the records, along with other evidence, admitted at trial. That includes Amazon purchase history that allegedly ties Kohberger to a Ka-Bar knife and sheath, the same kind of sheath found under one of the victims, with Kohberger’s DNA allegedly recovered from its snap. The defense, unsurprisingly, wants all of that kept out. Weather data. Amazon records. Anything that could further paint a picture they’re trying hard to dispute. Kohberger is accused of four students in the early morning hours of November 13. Six hours after the killings, Kohberger allegedly took a smiling selfie in front of an empty shower. His attorneys say he was just out for a drive. Prosecutors say the clouds don’t lie. Jury selection is set to begin July 30, with the trial expected to start August 11. #BryanKohberger #IdahoFour #TrueCrimeTrial #KohbergerCase Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | Ret FBI Behavior Analysis Chief Breaks Down Karen Read's Contradicting Statements & Actions | 27 Mar 2025 | 00:30:12
Ret FBI Behavior Analysis Chief Breaks Down Karen Read's Contradicting Statements & Actions Did a true crime documentary just tank Karen Read’s defense? When you're facing an alleged second-degree murder charge, most folks would advise you to keep your head down, stay quiet, and maybe—just maybe—not hand your unfiltered stream of consciousness to a documentary crew. But that’s exactly what Karen Read did in “Body in the Snow”, the HBO Max/ID doc that might double as a cautionary tale for anyone with a pending trial. Tony Brueski and former FBI Behavioral Analyst Robin Dreeke break down Read’s on-camera contradictions—from her teary musings of “What if I ran over his foot?” to suddenly being sure she didn’t touch a hair on his head. The emotional tone? Weirdly upbeat. The logic? Like a drunk game of Clue with a broken compass. Robin calls it “word salad.” Tony calls it narcissistic. We just call it… yikes. Then there’s the blogger—Turtleboy—who Read allegedly had daily contact with, feeding him info while he stirred a digital witch hunt. Online harassment, stalking, intimidation… and it’s not even the second trial yet. Is Karen Read the victim of a smear campaign, or her own worst enemy with a podcast mic? #KarenRead #JohnOKeefe #TrueCrimeToday #HiddenKillersPodcast #FBIBehavioralAnalysis #Turtleboy #BodyInTheSnow Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? | The Kohberger Selfie That Could Seal His Fate, Bob Motta & Tony Break It Down | 27 Mar 2025 | 00:12:50
The Kohberger Selfie That Could Seal His Fate, Bob Motta & Tony Break It Down What kind of person allegedly buys a knife, a sheath, and a sharpener months before a brutal quadruple murder—and then takes a thumbs-up selfie in front of a shower hours after the crime? In this chilling (and oddly absurd) episode of Hidden Killers with Tony Brueski, defense attorney and Defense Diaries host Bob Motta joins Tony to dig into the latest revelations in the alleged case against Bryan Kohberger. With new evidence pointing to a suspicious shopping list—knife, sheath, sharpener (aka the creepiest vacuum attachment ever)—the timeline may be starting to close in. Motta and Brueski break down whether this kind of purchase, made months before the crime, can really prove intent—or if it just paints a deeply disturbing picture of preparation. Speaking of pictures, what’s with the selfie Kohberger allegedly took post-crime? Pale as a ghost, standing in front of a shower, giving a thumbs-up—was it a trophy, or a bat signal to the internet’s darkest corners? Is the defense going to be able to explain any of this away—or is this knife already in too deep? #BryanKohberger #TrueCrimeToday #HiddenKillersPodcast #IdahoFour #CrimeSceneEvidence #DarkHumorCrime #DefenseDiaries Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Was Karen Read’s biggest mistake the alleged crime—or everything that came after? With jury selection looming and a five-part docuseries shaking up public perception, the case against Karen Read is more than just a courtroom drama—it’s an all-out war of narratives. But beyond the question of whether she struck her boyfriend with her car, there’s another storm brewing: her deep connection with controversial blogger “Turtle Boy.” Read’s daily communication with him, as revealed in the documentary, raises serious questions about witness intimidation, media manipulation, and just how far she was willing to go to shape public opinion. Is this just an aggressive defense strategy, or did she cross the line into something far more dangerous? And as her own words come back to haunt her, could they do more damage than any piece of evidence ever could? #KarenRead #TrueCrime #HiddenKillers #TurtleBoy #WitnessIntimidation #LegalDrama #Justice Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? We’re talking leaked deathbed photos, alleged witness intimidation, and a full-blown harassment campaign that’s left victims and families in emotional ruins. Read’s own words might be the most incriminating of all, showing not just knowledge but seemingly pride in the chaos surrounding her case.
