Digital Sabbath: How To Do 1,000 Hours Unplugged To Reset Your Heart & Mind With Hannah Brencher EP 8314 May 202400:49:40
In this episode:

Hannah Brencher joins Heather on the Healthy By Heather Brown show to share her journey toward resetting and unplugging to live an intentional lifestyle.

Founder of More Love Letters, author of new book, "The Unplugged Hours", mom and wife, Hannah shares how she achieved 1,000 hours unplugged. Hannah shares about the power of a digital Sabbath, how to fully reset through unplugging, and how to have anchor points in your day.

We are wired to move fast and yet in the slowness, we find DEEP JOY. The more we get rid of the noise, the more we realize we can step in rhythm with Jesus. God will never tell us to hustle or move faster and in fact, God is calling us to a slower pace. Productivity is amplified when we choose to unplug because we realize where our priority should be when the noise is reduced.

My next step for you is this: Write down when you feel better, relaxed, or more alive and let that be part of you sabbath. (Example: reading, writing, napping)

In the marriage corner:

Heather and Eric talk about their top 5 tips for saving money.

Healing From Lies, Toxic Relationships, Loss and Grief With CMT Top Female Country Artist, Stephanie Quayle EP 8207 May 202400:48:56
In this episode:

Stephanie Quayle, acclaimed singer/songwriter and author of her forthcoming book, Why Do We Stay?, joins Heather to talk about healing from lies, toxic relationships, loss, and grief.

When Stephanie lost her boyfriend in a plane crash, she faced intense grief and pain. Nothing compared, though, to the shock of discovering she had not been the only woman in his life. As her world unraveled around her, Stephanie realized that it had actually been unraveling from the start of their relationship—back when he promised her everything.

Stephanie says that her faith and forgiveness of not only the one who inflicted the pain but also of herself, has been the key to freedom and healing in her journey. Her personal journey of faith in Jesus has been one that she has held close and private, but now she is opening up about all God has done in her life. Stephanie was baptized by Pastor Chris Hodges of Church of the Highlands in January – on the 15th anniversary of her pain, which has now become her freedom.

Most of us have dealt with a toxic relationship – whether in friendship or romantically. Stephanie’s journey from heartbreak to healing will encourage and inspire you that in Christ, you can be empowered to walk in freedom, lay aside guilt and shame, practice self-care and rebuild your life.

Why You Need A Mentor & Need To Be Mentoring: This Powerful Tool For Navigating Seasons Of Waiting With Ruth Chou Simons EP 7916 Apr 202400:55:07
In this episode:

Award-winning author and founder of the online brand GraceLaced.com, Ruth Chou Simons, joins Heather to talk about what it feels like when your current life circumstances, your parenting, marriage, career and friendships, are so far from where you long for them to be.

In her new book, Now and Not Yet: Pressing In When You’re Waiting, Wanting, and Restless for More, Ruth encourages readers to see their current circumstances the way God does, align their perspective with his and choose to press in instead of look for a way out. Drawing from scripture, biblical wisdom, and personal experience, Ruth's deep belief that God has already ultimately fulfilled all of His promises in Christ undergirds every word of Now and Now Yet. Readers will feel deeply understood, gently challenged and encouraged to call on the Lord amidst every circumstance—to trust they are right where they need to be because God will use it all.

Ruth states - “I truly believe your current season is not wasted." And, "God is purposeful about what happens between today and tomorrow, between right now and someday. My prayer is that we stop hiding behind simple platitudes and quick fixes to our unwanted right nows and bravely step into the ways God wants to change us… instead of staying busy trying to change our circumstances.”
