Did you know that getting treated and infused with CAR-T cells can give you a taste of creamed corn in your mouth? This is what Laurie Adami says.

This new episode in Healing our CELLves is a cellfie by Laurie Adami who is a survivor of follicular non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Laurie’s story starts with how her busy and successful life got interrupted by some strange symptoms and how it took her three years of seeing multiple doctors to finally get a diagnosis. Her story continues with the lengthy journey of fighting the cancer with different types of chemotherapies and drugs, and her participation in several clinical trials for new drugs when nothing else worked. And how she got to be the very first patient at UCLA in a clinical trial with CAR-T therapy for follicular non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

He has been fighting multiple myeloma for 22 years, got treated with CAR-T therapy two years and four months ago and has been in a remission ever since. His book “An exercise in uncertainty” is describing his amazing story and he is sharing it here in the podcast “Healing our CELLves”.
