Part 1 of 4 *Scroll for CW* In the first episode of this four-part series, I’m sharing how I got pulled into a high-control religious environment that promised supernatural power, purpose, and healing. Despite what it offered, the church left me confused, silenced, and slowly unraveling. This is where the unraveling began. - Please note: This episode includes mentions of suicidal thoughts, disordered eating, religious abuse, and sexual trauma. | 11. Raised by a False Prophet: Part 2 (Jedidiah's Story) | 01 Jul 2025 | 01:17:42
In this special two-part interview, I sit down with Jedidiah Hartley, a former insider in the charismatic prophetic movement and the son of Bob Hartley, a once-renowned “prophet” within IHOP, Bethel, and broader New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) circles. Jedidiah grew up watching his father gain global acclaim for prophetic insights , but behind the stage lights was a man faking words, using conference registration lists to look people up, and abusing his power to manipulate, control, and harm. Jedidiah opens up about the painful tension of loving someone who has caused harm, someone he still hoped would turn things around, while also feeling a deep responsibility to protect others by telling the truth. This is a powerful look at what happens when charisma is platformed over character, and why Jedidiah is now speaking out against spiritual manipulation within the NAR. We also talk about how his story helped me process my own (including a false prophecy I received from his father). — Follow for more: Jedidiah’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jedidiahhartley/ Jubilee’s TikTok: @jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: @jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: @healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: @healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: Submit Here

In this episode, I sit down with Mary Beth, a survivor and author who is bravely sharing her story of what it was like to be groomed by her choir teacher. At just 12 years old, a trusted adult began building a relationship with her that would eventually become romantic when she was 19. For years, Mary Beth believed the connection she had with him was special, even meaningful. We talk about what it’s like to untangle memories that once felt positive, the emotional confusion that often comes with grooming, and the deep work required to reclaim your story. Mary Beth brings so much wisdom, tenderness, and clarity to a topic that many people have a hard time naming. She is now releasing her first book, Thinking of You, which explores her story in depth and offers insight into how these experiences often begin quietly and subtly. In this episode, I sit down with a guest joining us all the way from Wales. Kayley’s wedding day turned into the unthinkable. After months of planning, dreaming, and preparing to walk down the aisle, her fiancé vanished. He didn’t show up to the ceremony, and he never came back. No goodbye. No explanation. Just… gone. We talk about what it’s like to experience that kind of betrayal on what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. She shares what it was like to face it not just privately, but in front of an entire room full of people who came to celebrate her. And how, despite the heartbreak, she and her people decided to reclaim the day with joy, dancing, and celebration. She shares how telling her story online has not only helped her process the pain, but connected her with thousands of new friends who supported her healing. From going viral on TikTok to redefining what healing looks like, she brings humor, heartbreak, and power to every part of this conversation. This episode is for anyone who’s ever felt discarded, ghosted, or unsure if they’d ever feel whole again. | 13. "Best Friends" With The Youth Pastor (Cassandra's Story) | 15 Jul 2025 | 01:36:25
*Scroll for CW* In this episode, I sit down with Cassandra, a survivor whose story shines a heartbreaking light on the intersections of spiritual abuse, grooming, and prophetic manipulation. At just 14 years old, Cassandra was groomed and sexually abused by her youth pastor. He was 28. Instead of protection or justice, she was blamed by those who should have protected her. Years later, she was targeted again- this time by a worship leader at EHOP, a cult-like spinoff of IHOP. He stalked her on MySpace before drawing her into a cohesive dynamic built on power and control. After abusing at least 15 women in the church, the organization finally shut down…but not before the victims were forced to take the blame publicly. It wasn’t until she began learning about trauma, nervous system healing, and how to name abuse that she was finally able to break free. She began untangling truth from manipulation, and she’s been healing. This episode is for anyone who’s ever questioned their intuition because of leadership. For anyone who’s questioned their reality, their worth, or whether they were somehow to blame. You’re not alone. *CW: Grooming, sexual abuse, and religious abuse. — Cassandra’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@cassandralau.co Cassandra’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cassandralau.co/ Cassandra’s Website: https://cassandralau.co/ Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/S3wYnxTUBRHVE6bH7

Part 1 of 1 You might know Jake Deyton from TikTok, where he shares Taylor Swift chart updates and debunks excessive Easter eggs. But behind the music commentary is a powerful story of survival, deconstruction, and acceptance. Jake grew up in a rural Appalachian town in North Carolina, where church attendance was essential if you wanted friends or acceptance. At just three years old, he was told he needed to repent or burn in hell forever. When he learned what being gay meant, his immediate thought was “uh oh,” because he knew deep down that was him. Fearing rejection from the church and his community, he buried that truth for years and even promised himself he would never come out. Today, Jake is married to his husband, raising two children, and living free from the beliefs that once held him captive. In this conversation, he shares how he went from hiding in fear to becoming exactly who he was taught to fear. - Jake’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jakedeyton1 The Lost Lore Podcast: https://linktr.ee/thelostlorepod The Lost Lore Podcast Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thelostlorepod - Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Healedish - Follow Jubilee on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Follow Jubilee on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Follow Healed-ish on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Follow Healed-ish on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8
| 17. From Purity Pledges to Somatic Healing (Samantha’s Story) | 05 Aug 2025 | 02:02:27 | |
Part 1 of 1 You might recognize Samantha as a licensed therapist who now helps others heal from the very belief systems that once shaped her. But before she began that work, Sam and I actually sat in the same small group at Bethel. In this episode, Sam shares her story of being introduced to JH Ranch at just 14 years old. She attended a father-daughter retreat where she was asked to sign a contract pledging to remain pure until marriage. That contract became a cornerstone of her identity, and she returned to JH Ranch as a volunteer for many summers. Her journey eventually led her to the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, where she attended all three years. During her third year, she began to question the teachings and became increasingly disillusioned with the environment. That season marked the beginning of a deeper unraveling and healing process. Today, Sam is a somatic therapist who specializes in working with individuals recovering from religious trauma. She shares how she reconnected with her body, learned to trust herself again, and how she now helps others do the same. This conversation touches on identity, purity culture, embodiment, and what it means to reclaim your story after spiritual disillusionment. — Samantha’s website: https://www.samantharedondotherapy.com/ Spiritual Harm Process Group: Info: https://www.samantharedondotherapy.com/offerings Sign up: https://forms.gle/qKznXsRGtiVft27R7 Samantha’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/wild.reciprocity Samantha’s Substack: wildreciprocity.substack.com Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Healedish Follow for more: Jubilee’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8

Kelli grew up deeply rooted in Mormonism, where rules and worthiness shaped her entire identity. She and her husband walked through deconstruction side by side. They traded their garments for coffee runs, tried things once considered off-limits, and together learned what freedom outside the church could look like. Their journey led to them ending their marriage on their anniversary. But instead of bitterness, it opened space for new forms of connection. Kelli even helped introduce her ex-husband to a close friend, and today the three of them remain good friends. They’ve been able to support each other through deconstruction and beyond. | 23. Praying My Baby Would Be a Martyr: Part 2 (Makenzie's Story) | 02 Sep 2025 | 01:18:34
Part 2 of 2 We’re bringing it close to home this week with someone you’ve heard me mention before — my ex–sister-in-law, Kenzie. We first met as teenagers in youth group, navigating the pressures of purity pledges, religious guilt, and the rollercoaster of charismatic Christianity. While we shared plenty of fun moments during those years, we were also shaped by environments that demanded conformity and obedience. Kenzie went on to join the International House of Prayer (IHOP), a high-control religious group where the spiritual abuse ran deep. While newly pregnant, she was forced to stay awake in prayer through the night, and when she expressed doubts, men laid hands on her belly and prayed her child would become a martyr. That moment marked one of many in which her humanity and dignity were disregarded in the name of faith. Her story didn’t end there. Kenzie eventually left IHOP, got divorced, and began the long process of deconstruction. | 22. Praying My Baby Would Be a Martyr: Part 1 (Makenzie's Story) | 02 Sep 2025 | 01:13:50
Part 1 of 2 We’re bringing it close to home this week with someone you’ve heard me mention before — my ex–sister-in-law, Kenzie. Today, she identifies as queer, continues to navigate hard conversations with friends and family, and is writing a new chapter in her healing journey. She and I now co-host The Overshare Hour, where our shared history adds both depth and laughter to every conversation. This episode explores purity culture, spiritual abuse, queerness, and what it means to reclaim joy and belonging after religious disillusionment. — Kenzie’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/itsmakenziejene/ Kenzie’s Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@itsmakenziejene Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Healedish Follow for more: Jubilee’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8

Part 2 or 2 Corey’s story pulls back the curtain on what it was really like inside Teen Mania’s Honor Academy, the infamous discipleship program featured in Amazon’s Shiny Happy People. From grueling workouts to “Unreached People Group Week,” where students were forced to cosplay as missionaries, Corey was subjected to bizarre exercises in control and spiritual manipulation. During his time with Teen Mania, he toured with Acquire the Fire, lived on just $5 a day, telemarketed for Jesus, and was pushed into purity culture teachings that took years to unpack. | 27. The Sin of Wearing Pants (Colten's Story) | 23 Sep 2025 | 01:29:12
Part 1 of 1 Colten grew up in the Holiness movement, a Pentecostal tradition with even stricter rules than most. In his church, women were not allowed to cut their hair, wear jewelry, or even wear pants. Baptism had to be done in a very specific way, or else your eternity was on the line. His dad was the pastor, and Colten took those rules to heart, believing his salvation depended on them. In this episode, Colten shares vivid memories of his upbringing, including the moment he broke down sobbing after seeing his mom wear pants for the first time because he believed she was going to hell. He talks about what it was like to go to seminary, to begin evaluating what he had been taught, and how he has turned those experiences into knowledge he now shares with thousands of people on TikTok. - Colten’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/coltenbarnaby/ Colten’s Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@coltenbarnaby - Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Healedish Follow for more: Jubilee’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8

Part 2 of 2 Victoria joined Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry at a pivotal time in her life, hoping to grow in her faith and purpose. During her time there, she began an internship with Nick and Jess, a couple who led a group of students through life coaching and emotional healing practices. What started as mentorship quickly shifted into something harmful, as Victoria found herself leading unlicensed “therapy” sessions, participating in anxiety inducing trust exercises, and watching leaders blur the lines between spiritual growth and manipulation. In this episode, Victoria opens up about how a program built on transformation and vulnerability became a system of control. They even won a free elopement in a contest, creating memories that felt magical in so many ways. But after seven years together, everything unraveled in a matter of days. A series of accusations and bizarre circumstances ended the marriage suddenly, and the two never spoke again. Jade first shared pieces of her story on TikTok, where her series caught attention, and now she is here to share the full journey. Were we lied to about hell? This week, I am joined by Brian Recker, a pastor's kid, former minister, and author of Hell Bent. Brian asked the question most of us were taught to fear: Is the hell we grew up with actually biblical? Brian shares how studying Scripture and church history unraveled fear-based theology and led him into a deeper and more loving experience of God. We talk about the harm of "turn or burn" messaging, what Jesus really taught, and how letting go of hell did not destroy Brian's faith, it healed it. | 37. When Worship Becomes Performance (Krys' Story) | 18 Nov 2025 | 01:35:45
Krystina grew up Southern Baptist, in a world where women stayed silent on stage and drums were considered sinful. Later, in a charismatic church, she received unsettling prophetic words that painted her future as “anointed, but lonely.” She pursued worship ministry at Liberty University, only to face racism, tokenization, and microaggressions from the very people who claimed to love her. Behind the scenes, she discovered how worship was intentionally designed to manipulate emotions.... something she once believed was purely spiritual. Everything shifted when she became a mother. Wanting to raise her child with honesty and clarity, Krystina began revisiting her faith with fresh eyes. Instead of the certainty she hoped for, she found herself wrestling with questions she had never allowed herself to ask. Over time, this led her into a season of deep reevaluation and eventually toward a new journey outside of Christianity. Today, she and her husband share their story on Life Beyond Belief, offering a space for people navigating doubt, change, and rebuilding after leaving a faith tradition. In this episode, Krystina opens up about the moments that shaped her, the questions that transformed her, and what it looks like to find peace on the other side of certainty. - Krystina’s Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@lifebeyondbelief Krystina’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/krysandken/ Life Beyond Belief Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/5jSEc2KnDIifE3ATcMf0br?si=0953232c76c64ccb - Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Healedish Follow for more: Jubilee’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8

In this episode of Healed-ish, Cherie talks about growing up in an ultra-strict Christian home where she was homeschooled with curriculum that rewrote history, promoted strict creationism, and even framed Barack Obama as the anti-Christ. From childhood, Cherie was taught that her primary purpose was to become a wife and mother within the ideals of complementarianism. At her Christian college, men and women were not allowed to spend time together off campus, and girls were even prohibited from wearing their hair wet because it was considered tempting. Cherie shares what sparked her deconstruction, being in an interfaith marriage, and why she is now raising awareness about Project 2025, something she recognizes deeply because she was essentially raised inside its ideology. Joshua Harris, author of the bestselling and culture-defining book I Kissed Dating Goodbye, joins Healed-ish for a conversation I’m sure neither of us saw coming. In this episode, we talk about his upbringing, what led him to embrace purity culture as a teenager, writing his book at just 21 years old, and watching it explode across evangelical spaces in ways he never imagined. Josh opens up about what later caused him to question everything he once believed, how listening to the stories of people harmed by purity culture changed him, and why he ultimately chose to publicly renounce his own book and apologize for the damage it caused. Through deconstruction, grief, and rebuilding, they found a new way forward rooted in humanity, community, and compassion. - Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Healedish Follow for more: Jubilee’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8
| 45. Purity Culture, BYU, and a Premarital Doctor Exam (Becca's Story) | 06 Jan 2026 | 02:24:20 | |
Becca was raised in the Mormon church, where nearly every part of her childhood revolved around faith, obedience, and preparation for marriage. From constant church commitments and Mormon Treks to attending BYU, her life followed a path that was considered righteous and ideal, but rarely questioned. In this episode, Becca opens up about Mormon doctrine, purity culture, and the invasive ways control over women’s bodies can show up in religious spaces. She shares her experience of a premarital medical exam, being given dilators, and undergoing an unnecessary hymenectomy. Now divorced, deconstructed, and living fear free as a queer woman, Becca reflects on unlearning shame, reclaiming autonomy, and rebuilding her identity outside the church. - Becca's Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@ripbeccs - Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Healedish Follow for more: Jubilee’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8
| 46. The Sin of Loving Me: Born and Razed in a Cult (Beth Granger's Story) | 13 Jan 2026 | 01:44:43 | |
In this episode, I’m joined by Beth Granger, author of Born and Razed, who shares her story of being taken from her parents at just four years old and placed into what was presented as a Christian boarding school, but functioned as a deeply controlling and abusive cult. Beth describes being put on a diet at the age of five, subjected to “light sessions” designed to psychologically tear children down, and raised under constant fear and obedience enforced by 2 women known as “the mothers.” Beth spent more than 30 years inside this system before eventually escaping and beginning the long process of healing. Her story became part of the first historic cult abuse case in Canada to win. In this conversation, Beth reflects on survival, identity after control, and what it means to reclaim your voice after a lifetime of spiritual abuse. Content Warning: This episode contains discussions of abuse, eating disorders, and experiences within a cult. Take care while listening. - Beth Granger’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/happygranger/ Beth Granger’s Book & Website: https://bethgranger.ca - Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Healedish Follow for more: Jubilee’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8
| 47. “Holy” Grooming by a Youth Pastor (Danielle’s Story) | 20 Jan 2026 | 01:34:53 | |
Danielle grew up in a non-denominational church and, like many teenagers, found community and belonging through her local youth group. It was there that she met James, the youth director who would slowly become one of the most important people in her life. What began as mentorship and friendship quietly shifted into something far more complicated. Over the years, James groomed Danielle through one-on-one time, emotional intimacy, gifts, and letters that blurred boundaries. At the time, she believed they were simply best friends. After Danielle’s story went viral on TikTok, she’s continued to process the grief of reframing memories that once felt safe and meaningful. In this episode, we talk about the unique pain of healing from grooming when it doesn’t look like what people expect, the confusion of realizing harm years later, and what it takes to untangle love, loyalty, and betrayal. This is a conversation about power, manipulation, and the long road to trusting yourself again. - Danielle’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/daniellerose143/ Danielle’s Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@daniellerose143_ - Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Healedish Follow for more: Jubilee’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8
| 48. OCD, Eating Disorder Recovery, and Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (Rihanna's Story) | 27 Jan 2026 | 01:47:42 | |
* CW* Eating disorder recovery, OCD, intrusive thoughts In this episode of Healed-ish, I sit down with Rihanna, who attended Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry with me back in 2012. Raised in a conservative Christian home and shaped by purity culture, Rihanna eventually found her way to Bethel, where she had meaningful spiritual experiences but also quietly relapsed into an eating disorder while working in a health-focused Internship. After moving to Los Angeles, she began healing her relationship with food and her body, and during the 2016 election season started deconstructing her faith as she wrestled with Christian nationalism and the version of God she had been taught. Today, she still loves Jesus, but on her own terms. We also talk about her recent OCD diagnosis and living with intrusive thoughts, what it has been like to finally understand her brain, and how she is working to break the stigma around mental health and eating disorder recovery online. We reminisce about the quirky, funny, and complicated parts of life at Bethel, the highs and the lows, and what healing has looked like on the other side. - Rihanna’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/thediaryofrihanna/ Rihanna’s Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thediaryofrihanna Rihanna’s Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/RihannaTeixeira - Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/Healedish Follow for more: Jubilee’s TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jubileedawns Jubilee’s IG: https://www.instagram.com/jubileedawns Healed-ish TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healedishpodcast Healed-ish IG: https://www.instagram.com/healedishpodcast Apply To Share Your Story: https://forms.gle/23f8SPBX1VntsqUU8
