| 'Is having a boyfriend embarrassing now?' | 09 Dec 2025 | 00:40:01 | |
Kelly and Louise debate the viral Vogue article âIs having a boyfriend embarrassing now?â by Chante Joseph. We know, you canât bloody win! The controversial article divided the internet looking at the apparent recent shift to avoid mentioning your boyfriend online and Kelly and Louise have notes. They react to the article getting into why people may advertise boyfriends less, their own response to people publicising relationships or not (even when married), and whether it really is âembarrassingâ. Thereâs strong opinions. They also talk about more women choosing to be independent now, the question, âwhy are you single?â (the gift that keeps on giving around Christmas time) and Louise letting females down with her inability to light a fire and swing an axe. Vogue article discussed: https://www.vogue.co.uk/article/is-having-a-boyfriend-embarrassing-now Follow up article: https://www.vogue.co.uk/article/the-response-to-my-are-boyfriends-embarrassing-article Sign up to our news letter to keep up to date: https://mailchi.mp/6363eddb1650/sign-up-newsletter Contact us with annoying comments or questions youâve had or simply a story about surviving womanhood at frozenyoureggsyet@gmail.com Find us on Insta, Tik Tok and YouTube @frozenyoureggsyet Hosted on Acast. | Why are weddings so controversial?...and women of the Oscars | 03 Mar 2026 | 00:44:15
Who doesn't love a wedding? Join Kelly and Louise as they shoot the breeze around the Oscars and all the amazing women who are trailblazing this year. This leads to a slightly random dissection of the old adage, 'What's for you won't go by you', with differing opinions. The focus of this episode is in fact weddings. Most of us will, at some point, have been invited to a wedding and in a lot of cases, many, many weddings. Kelly and Louise recount the good, the bad and the ugly they have encountered, whilst agreeing we all love a good day out. They consider whether it's ever right to not get a 'plus one' invitation, whether kids should be included at these events, what kind of numbers make for a good wedding and how Scottish, Irish and English weddings compare. And, what about the single-penalty? Forking out for others when you may never receive in return? Finally they draw on their experiences to see what makes for a bad wedding? Do they exist? See us live! 'Have You Frozen Your Eggs Yet?' is going live! We are being hosted by Tribe co-working space in the beautiful Portobello in Edinburgh. | Big news, life markers officially changing and an announcement! | 24 Feb 2026 | 00:33:46
WE ARE BACK and Louise has big news. Kelly and Louise deeply regret not having kept the podcast going in January which was Dry (only in the sense of alcohol) and far too long so they kick things off by talking about how 2026 has started for them both, including some ridiculous challenges they may or may not manage (yes they are those people). The topic of this episode is the official confirmation that our life markers have changed. In 2026, women are redefining what aging looks like and what you can do when - Kelly and Louise dissect it all. To add to the evidence, thereâs discussion of the Kardashians, Kim Gordon, Pamela Anderson and many more. Plus, are millennials the most optimistic? What colour do you identify with in your generation and are you the norm? See us live! 'Have You Frozen Your Eggs Yet?' is going live! We are being hosted by Tribe co-working space in the beautiful Portobello in Edinburgh to celebrate International Women's Day. | Should You Have Kids? The Childfree Debate (inspired by Jameela Jamil) | 17 Mar 2026 | 00:39:47
Kelly (a mum) and Louise (not a mum) tackle having children vs choosing to be childfree responding to a brilliantly funny and dramatic Substack post by Jameela Jamil called 'I Don't Want Children'. Jamella gave her long list of reasons with her usual flair for the dramatic and great humour - truly a woman for these times. Kelly and Louise dissect the list adding their own thoughts, counterpoints and plenty of humour too. If getting into fights for your kids or cleaning poo are stored in your 'things I'd prefer not to do' file then you have found a kindred spirit. This episode explores the big question: do you actually want children? Kelly also brings in Googleâs reasons for having kids, some of which may blow your mind. Plus, in this weekâs Whatâs Grinding Our Gears, Kelly and Louise are enjoying a little vent about sky high ticket prices, they've had enough of it and it needs to stop. In the meantime they are trying to make themselves feel better by not buying expensive tickets and instead supporting smaller acts and grassroots venues. If youâre wondering whether to have kids, thinking about staying childfree, or just enjoy honest conversations about life decisions, this episode is for you. | AI Dating, Olympian Self-Worth & Mistimed Proposals | 10 Mar 2026 | 00:40:00
AI dating is on the rise and Kelly and Louise are confused. In this International Womenâs Day week episode, Louise shares her thoughts on Wuthering Heights and takes inspiration from Winter Olympians Eileen Gu and Alysa Liu when it comes to celebrating your achievements, not apologising, and doing things your own way. Meanwhile, some people clearly missed the memo about not stealing a womanâs limelight. Kelly is perplexed by the mistimed proposals and declarations from partners of Olympians (and even Olympians themselves). She has notes. From AI dating trends to Olympian confidence and proposal timing disasters, Kelly and Louise break down what it means to own your achievements, why support for other women should start locally and why some big romantic gestures should probably wait their turn. | Poorna Bell on Relationships, Self-Worth & Wanting More | 07 Apr 2026 | 00:50:29
Kelly and Louise are excited to be joined by award-winning author and journalist Poorna Bell. Poorna is the author of multiple non-fiction books and novels, and her work explores womenâs issues, diversity, fitness, pro-ageing and mental health. She has written for major publications including Vogue, Grazia and Stylist, and writes the popular Substack As I Was Saying. Her latest book, She Wanted More, is part memoir and part exploration of what women really want from life. Following the loss of her husband in her 30s, Poorna began questioning who sets the rules we live byâand why women are so often told to be grateful rather than ambitious for more. Drawing on insights from over 1,000 women, She Wanted More challenges societal expectations around relationships, dating, friendship, motherhood and what a âsuccessfulâ life should look like. In this conversation, Kelly, Louise and Poorna discuss:
Itâs an honest, thought-provoking and deeply relatable conversation about carving your own path and asking: what do I actually want? đ§ Listen now for a powerful discussion on modern womanhood, relationships and redefining success. | Dodgy Posters, the Manosphere & the âNumbâ Trend | 31 Mar 2026 | 00:45:56
What did you think your life would look like at 8 years old? A listener question gets Kelly and Louise reflecting on childhood dreamsâand raises some serious questions about certain bedroom posters. If you haven't watched Louis Theroux's 'Manosphere' yet Kelly and Louise break down what it's all about, their concerns and what they felt was missing from it. As much as they wish this wasn't a point of conversation, as a womenâs podcast it's a worrying trend that needs to be addressed, but was this the right way? Louise is frustrated by the ongoing airtime given to these terrible people and Kelly thinks education can help bring back those sucked in by this awful narrative. Louise and Kelly also dissect the 'numb' trend - think deadpan stares, vacant looks and irreverence. Charli XCX and Rachel Sennett are proponents of it. Kelly wonders if it's part of a wider 'numb generation' trend owing to burnout and being chronically online. Louise fails miserably to master the aesthetic just because she has such a lovely smiley face - cue hilarity. | Alpine Divorce, Viola Davis & Madonna plus the Perils of Solo Travel | 28 Apr 2026 | 00:40:47
Inspired by a recent conversation between Viola Davis and Amy Poehler on Good Hang, Kelly and Louise unpack the frustrating reality that women are still expected to prioritise being desirable over simply being strong. Why does female power still have to be filtered through the male gaze? And what happens when women reject that entirely? Kelly also brings a new term to the table: âAlpine Divorce.â It is certainly a case of what fresh hell is this? They break down what it means, the behaviours behind it, and why it might be a sign to seriously rethink your relationship. Talk of hiking and the ethics around some mountain behaviours get Louise and Kelly reminiscing about their days travelling. Louise shares a 'near miss' story which she says she wouldn't allow to happen today. A story many will identify with for sure. Finally, the conversation turns to Madonna and the backlash following her appearance at Coachella. From blatant ageism to misogyny, Kelly and Louise discuss why one of the most iconic performers of all time still isnât given the respect she deserves â and why that says a lot about how society treats women as they age. Kelly and Louise explore how girls are conditioned to receive comments on their appearance, responding in real time and when to intervene on behalf of other women. Why do women find it so difficult to say no? In this episode of Have You Frozen Your Eggs Yet? Kelly and Louise dive into the growing conversation around boundaries, inspired by high-profile figures like Chappell Roan who have been making headlines for confidently saying no. Women are often expected to go along with whatâs asked of themâbut why is that, and how do we start changing it? Kelly and Louise unpack:
Louise shares difficult situations her friends have found themselves in, while Kelly reflects on how setting better boundaries has already started to shift things in her own lifeâwith some work still to do. They also discuss the ever-iconic Robyn and how sheâs redefining modern motherhoodâchallenging expectations, embracing sexuality, and showing that having kids can be both âcuteâ and âpunkâ. | Women Building Their Own Communities, Exam Stress & Pride | 16 Jun 2026 | 00:30:10
What if the answer to loneliness, ageing and the pressure to have it all isn't finding the perfect partnerâbut building a community with your friends? Inspired by the story of 26 women who have come together to create a female-only cohousing project, Kelly and Louise explore friendship, independence and whether living alongside friends could offer an alternative to traditional ideas of family, relationships and ageing. With exam season in full swing, they also reflect on stress, pressure and the importance of having people around you when life feels overwhelming. Louise shares the unbelievable (and slightly ridiculous) story of needing stitches on the morning of an important exam, while Kelly revisits the childhood incentives that got her through revision season. Plus, Kelly shares a heartwarming story of solidarity between miners and the LGBTQ+ communityâa powerful reminder of what can happen when people show up for one another and why community matters more than ever. Expect personal stories, thoughtful conversation and plenty of reflections on stress, friendship, community and the different ways we build meaningful lives. | Kylie Minogue, AI Anxiety & the Demise of the Girl Boss | 09 Jun 2026 | 00:40:53
Grab your gold hot pants because âKylieâ - the deeply personal Netflix documentary about Kylie Minogue - is up for discussion in this episode of Have You Frozen Your Eggs Yet? Kelly and Louise discuss why Kylieâs honesty around relationships, fertility, loneliness, friendships and the expectations placed on women resonated so deeply with them. Also on the podcast, Louise has finally started training for her cross-country race in September, although the Scottish summer midge invasion is threatening to derail proceedings. Plus, Kelly and Louise unpack the growing backlash against AI after online criticism of Reese Witherspoon and Mel Robbins for promoting women to get on board. They discuss the pressure to embrace AI while also wrestling with the ethical and moral concerns surrounding it. The debate leads into a wider conversation about the rise â and apparent fall â of âgirl bossâ culture. Are women finally rejecting hustle culture and impossible expectations? And are Gen Z approaching work and ambition in a healthier way? Expect thoughtful conversation, strong opinions, cultural commentary and plenty of questions about the expectations placed on women today. đ§ Subscribe, leave a rating and share the podcast with a friend â it really helps independent podcasts grow. | Does Motherhood Have a PR Problem? & Why âLooksmaxxingâ can get in the bin | 02 Jun 2026 | 00:39:49
Apparently older women are keeping rave culture alive - we love to see it, but motherhood, well thereâs always something to say about that and just now itâs got a PR problem. As a mum and a non mum, Kelly and Louise unpack the growing conversation around motherhood, identity and the pressure women face to constantly optimise themselves. They discuss how motherhood is portrayed and how comparison culture and unrealistic expectations are making things worse, looking at balance, judgement and the different ways women experience modern life. They also discuss the TV shows Daddy Issues and Margot's Got Money Troubles, and what they reveal about motherhood, womanhood and societal expectations today. Plus, Kelly dives into the rise of the âlooksmaxxingâ trendâyes, including the men using hammers on their facesâand Louise does not hold back her thoughts. Expect thoughtful conversation, strong opinions and plenty of questions about the expectations placed on women today. đ§ Subscribe, leave a rating and share the podcast with a friend â it really helps independent podcasts grow. | Why More Women Aren't Having Children & Why It's OK Not to Optimise Everything | 07 Jul 2026 | 00:43:07
Why are more women deciding not to have childrenâor feeling unable to? And are we finally getting tired of trying to optimise every aspect of our lives? Kelly and Louise discuss a BBC report claiming that 600,000 women are expected not to have children and the "heartbreak" often associated with that narrative. They explore the many reasons women choose not to have children, decide not to have more, or feel unable to, and what needs to change to better support those who do want a family. They also unpack the growing backlash against optimisation culture. Inspired by the internet's reaction to memes about Steven Bartlett supposedly "ruining" his life by drinking two glasses of wine, they ask whether we're finally rejecting the pressure to track, perfect and improve every aspect of ourselves. This is a women's podcast covering relationships, culture, health and modern life. Expect honest conversation, cultural commentary and plenty of laughs as Kelly and Louise tackle motherhood, modern life and the expectations placed on women today. | Divorcée Summer, Dating Yourself & Why Women Are So Angry | 23 Jun 2026 | 00:32:32
Have you heard that Brat Summer is over and we're now supposedly having a DivorcĂ©e Summer? No, neither had Kelly and Louise and theyâre not so sure about it. This week they unpack the latest trend celebrating freedom, reinvention and post-breakup confidence. But is the reality of a "DivorcĂ©e Summer" as glamorous as social media makes it seem? Louise has also been reflecting on how relationships change our social lives. From the effort that goes into making plans when you're single to the rise of "dating yourself", Kelly and Louise discuss why people in relationships should be mindful that being single doesnât mean you love spending time alone. Plus, Kelly and Louise are furious to learn that women in the UK are among the angriest in Europe, according to findings from the Hologic Global Women's Health Index. They explore what's driving women's frustration todayâfrom global events and the mental load to the unequal care burden and the pressures of modern life (including some very petty things). Expect cultural commentary, honest conversations and plenty of laughs along the wayâbecause sometimes if you don't laugh, you'll cry.
