The Truth About Disney Vacation Costs (And Where Your Money Actually Goes)09 Sep 202600:20:18

How much does a Disney vacation actually cost?

The honest answer is: it depends.

In this episode, I’m breaking down the four biggest expenses that shape the cost of a Walt Disney World vacation—your resort, park tickets, food, and transportation—and explaining why two families can take completely different Disney trips at completely different price points.

We’ll walk through three different styles of Disney vacations, from a simple Value Resort trip to a more resort-focused Deluxe vacation, so you can see how your priorities affect your overall budget.

I’m also sharing where I personally think it’s worth spending a little more, where families may be able to save, and some realistic ballpark budgets for a family of four.

In this episode, we cover:

• The four biggest Disney vacation expenses
• How resort category and location affect your budget
• Whether Park Hopper is actually worth the extra cost
• Ways to save on dining, souvenirs, and park tickets
• When convenience may be worth paying more for
• Value, Moderate, and Deluxe vacation budget estimates
• How Disney vacation package deposits and payments work
• Why the most expensive vacation is not always the most magical
• How to build a Disney budget around your family’s priorities

Estimated Disney vacation budgets for a family of four:

• Value Resort vacation: approximately $3,000–$5,000 USD
• Moderate Resort vacation: approximately $4,000–$6,500 USD
• Deluxe Resort vacation: approximately $6,000 USD and up

These are general estimates and can vary based on your travel dates, resort, number of park days, ticket type, dining choices, special events, transportation, and available promotions.

There is no single “right” Disney budget. The goal is to spend your money on the things that will make the biggest difference for your family—and save on the things that will not.

When Is the Best Time to Visit Disney World? (Spoiler: It Depends!)19 Aug 202600:24:00

When is the best time to visit Walt Disney World?

It’s one of the questions I hear most often — and unfortunately, there isn’t one perfect week that works for every family.

In this episode of the Haus of Magic Podcast, we’re looking beyond crowd calendars and talking about how to choose the best time to visit Disney World for your family.

We’ll chat about:

✨ Why there really isn’t a “perfect” week at Disney World
✨ The times of year that tend to have lower crowds
✨ Weather and how it can change your park days
✨ School schedules and traveling during busy seasons
✨ Halloween, Christmas and EPCOT festivals
✨ How your travel dates can affect your budget
✨ Why summer at Disney isn’t necessarily a bad idea
✨ How I help families narrow down their travel dates

I’ll also walk you through three different families and show you why I might recommend completely different times of year for each of them.

Because the goal isn’t to find the best time to visit Disney World.

It’s to find the best time for your family to visit.

How to Choose the Perfect Disney Resort for Your Family12 Aug 202600:34:34

Choosing your Disney resort can feel like one of the most overwhelming parts of planning a Walt Disney World vacation. With more than 20 resorts, different price points, transportation options, pools, restaurants, and locations, how do you know which one is actually right for your family?

In Episode 2 of the Haus of Magic Podcast, we're talking about why your Disney resort is so much more than just a place to sleep—and why there really isn't one "best" Disney resort.

Instead, I'm walking you through how I help families find the best fit for the kind of vacation they actually want to have.

In this episode, we cover:

✨ Why your Disney resort matters more than you might think
✨ How transportation can completely change the rhythm of your park days
✨ Why naps, pools, and midday breaks matter when traveling with young kids
✨ Why the most expensive resort isn't automatically the best choice
✨ The five questions I ask before recommending a resort
✨ Some of my favorite Disney resorts for different types of trips
✨ Three common mistakes families make when choosing where to stay

I also share some of my favorite resort picks, including Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century, the Polynesian, Port Orleans Riverside, and Animal Kingdom Lodge—and explain which families I think they're best suited for.

The biggest takeaway? Stop asking, "What's the best Disney resort?" and start asking, "What's the best Disney resort for our family?"

Because the right resort isn't necessarily the fanciest or most expensive one. It's the one that makes your vacation easier, more enjoyable, and more magical.

Welcome to the Haus of Magic Podcast: Why Disney Vacations Don't Have to Be Stressful05 Aug 202600:24:42

Planning a Disney vacation should feel exciting, not overwhelming.

In this very first episode of the Haus of Magic Podcast, I'm introducing myself, sharing why I started Haus of Magic, and explaining the planning philosophy that's at the heart of everything I do: Less Stress. More Magic.

If you've ever opened 25 browser tabs trying to figure out where to stay, whether Lightning Lane is worth it, or how to plan a trip that actually works for your family, this episode is for you.

In This Episode

You'll learn:

  • Why Disney planning feels so overwhelming (and why that's completely normal)
  • How I went from lifelong Disney fan to Disney travel advisor
  • My planning philosophy: Less Stress. More Magic.
  • Why there isn't one "right" way to plan a Disney vacation
  • How to stop chasing the "perfect" itinerary and start creating meaningful family memories
  • What you can expect from future episodes of the podcast

My Biggest Takeaway

Every family is different, and your Disney vacation should reflect that.

The best resort, park strategy, dining plan, or itinerary isn't the one everyone else recommends—it's the one that fits your family, your budget, your travel style, and the memories you want to make together.
